Sine you won't, anyway .. don't get in trouble cause of me. Copyright is mine, ask me if you happen to want to distribute it. Note: I'm counting the Intro as Chapter 1. I guess my story was placed in sci-fi, instead of boybands. I guess I should've mentioned a boy band, or two, huh? : ) Thats a good thing, though. Easier to make characters up, than try to place their real personalities on em. Hope you enjoy it without the *hotties.* The real ones, anyway. ; ) Crimson Tears Chapter 2: The Fear Welcome back. Where was I? Thats right, thank you. Shall we continue? Growing up believing in the super powers had it's disadvantages. Any mortal beings told they could become a super power usually worked themselves to the brink, and died from over doing it. "You aren't like the rest. You came here when told you could become a super power, instead of trying to become one yourself. I promise you won't die like the others." He was looking at me strangely. It almost looked like there was a longing in his eyes. What did he want from me? "What color represents fear?" He asked, suddenly. "Excuse me?" "I asked 'what color represents fear'?" "I was always told it's black." I stated. "I thought so. Your eyes do show all emotion. We really have to work on getting you comfortable here. Those black eyes of yours are just a little freaky." He sure did smile a lot. "Now, will you be training here?" He asked. He had that longing in his eyes again. "I'd like a tour before I decide, if it's not too much trouble." I responded. I was sure I would pick this center. It was almost like he already knew me. He showed me around the center. Every detail was explained. We walked down a huge, decorated hall. It was full of pictures of past students that achieved great power. There were two empty spots, larger than the others. "What goes there?" I asked, pointing at one of the empty spaces. "That is where the pictures of the two super powes will go." He responded. "I talked to a seer, and he told me I would train two of them, so I reserved those spots for their portraits. Soon, you will be in one of them." I still didn't believe I could become a super power. It was impossible! He looked into my eyes and asked, "Whats wrong?" "What? Oh, nothing." "Your eyes are black again. You're scared of something, aren't you? Whats wrong?" He had a concerned look on his face. "I've always been shy." I said, blushing. "I blush easily, too. I guess I'm just a little scared about how everyone will treat me. They may become jealous ..." He interupted me. "No, no. no. They won't be jealous. They'll believe it as much as you do. They will, however, do their best to help you reach your goal. They all know having a future super power as a friend is a good thing." He gave a slight smirk, and began walking again. He showed me everything about this center. Everything. It was hard to take it all in. The dining hall, the gym, the training rooms. Our last stop was the room that I would be using during my stay here. It was beautiul. Tapestries decorated the colorful room. Two gargoyles were perched on either side of the door, guarding the entrance. "Are those real?" I asked. "Huh? Oh, the gargoyles. Of course they are. They'll come to life anytime someone comes in the room. Just tell them it's ok, and they'll back down. They'll hold the person to the floor for a few minutes, to give you a chance to decide. Then, my friend, it's over for the intruder. Very messy. I hope you're a light sleeper." He ended this with a chuckle. "Will they attack me?" "No, they're magically connected to your soul. They know where you are at every moment. If they like you enough, they'll follow you everywhere. I have only one student that is followed by his gaurdians. He treats them like friends, not like guards." We walked back to his office, and he once again asked me, with the longing in his eyes: "Will you be joining us?" "I'd like to sleep on it. Stay for one night here, and see how quiet it is." "Good idea. Tommorow you can watch the activities, and classes, then decide. Bright and early." I nodded, we said our good-nights, and I headed to my room. I had the best nights sleep I had ever had. It was almost like bliss. I later learned he demanded that all students keep quiet that night. I thought it was amusing, as well as very nice of him to do that for me. One question lingered in my mind, though: Why did he care for me so much? He had only known me for a few hours. I awoke to bright sunlight pouring into my room, and a cry for help. My gargoyle friends had pinned my wake up call to the floor, and were about to tear his head off. "Stop!" I yelled. They looked at me, with a sadness on their faces, and reluctantly climbed off of the poor boy. They crawled up the pillars they perched on, their tails curling around them. They were identical . The boy stood up, brushed himself off, and gave me a very angry look. "I'm sorry about that. My first time having gargoyles protect me, and I guess I just don't know how to turn them off." I stated. Holding his angry look: "It's ok. Just tell them not to attack the wake up call. They know what that means. Oh yeah, time to get up." I chuckled at his remark. "Thanks, but I am up..." His face twisted into that of a monster. Fangs extended from his mouth, and his hands transformed into claws. "Don't patronize me!" He roared. "When I deliver a message to someone, I expect them to accept it with a thanks, and a tip. No remarks. I am not an idiot, I know you're up!" "Whoa, now. Calm down! I'm sorry! Damn." My eyes were bright red. They were so red, I was seeing just that. He looked into them, and something popped into my head. I suddenly knew how to control my emotions, and my eyes flashed. They turned their natural color. He stared into my blue glowing eyes. He lost himself completely. He was standing there, now back in his human form, in a trance. He walked up behind the boy. "What going on here?" He asked. I kept my eyes locked on the boys. "He's lost in my past. He can't breathe if I do not. He can't move if I do not. He is in my power." I waved my hand, and he turned toward him. His fangs came out in full force, his hands changed to claws. He raised his hand, and swiped at him. He dodged it, and disappeared. He suddenly reappeared in my room, only to find me laughing my ass off. He had a look of complete fear on his face. His face twisted into an odd smile. "Good one." Was all he said. I finally got out of bed, and kindly asked him to leave. The boy was still in his trance. I chuckled, and walked up to him. I looked at him, taking in every detail of his body. His red hair seemed to burn like the hottest fire. His cat like eyes were locked on me. I knelt down, and my eyes turned a dark purple. They flashed, and he was out of his trance. "Wha? What happened?" He was completely lost. I chuckled again, and said "Never, ever look into my eyes." I winked, and ushered him out of my room. The picture of his body stayed in my mind. He was, I guessed, about 3 years younger than me. Seventeen was a young age for someone to have developed their powers as much as he had. I had just discovered one of mine and it took me twenty years to do it! After a quick shower, I decided to go to his office and see where I go for what. When I got there I knocked. There was no answer. I knocked again, but still got no answer. I pushed open the door and saw his chair facing away from the door. There was someone in it, slouched over the side. I slowly walked over, and pulled the chair around. There sat my wake up call with a mischevious grin on his face. "What are you doing?" I asked. "You'll see." He said, holding his grin. I cocked an eyebrow, and thought I should get away from that chair before I get blamed. I sat in one of the chairs in the corner, as he turned the chair away from me, and continued working. Suddenly he shot off the chair, and dashed over to one of the chairs in the opposite corner. He walked through the door, glanced at me, then at my wake up call. "Good. You're both here." He walked over to the chair, and turned it around. It was then I saw it. A thin silver string tied to the leg of the red swivel chair. I followed it to the ceiling, and there was a silver pail. I knew what was going to happen, and quickly took my eyes off the bucket. I kept a look of innocence the entire time, trying not to laugh when the water hit. He was furious. The water turned to steam, and it rose from his body. "Come here, Ryan." When he said this, I saw fear overtake the young man. He slowly stood, and walked to the desk. "Excuse me," I said, "come here for a sec." Ryan was glad for the distraction, and walked over to me. "Remember what I said about never looking into my eyes?" I asked. He quickly took his eyes off of mine, and said "Yes, but whats your point?" "I want you to look into my eyes for a sec. I won't hurt you, I promise." His eyes slowly moved to mine. They were locked once again. My eyes turned gold. He was filled with courage, and turned towards him. My eyes were vibrating. Pulsating the color of bravery through every vein. "Ryan, you know the punishment for such an act. I'm getting tired off all your pranks!" He said with a frown. The punishment was a mental drain. In this state Ryan felt nothing. Instead, I felt everything. He put his hands on either side of Ryans head. They started to glow a blood red. A surge of pain rushed through my head. The pian overtook my,and I couldn't move. When he finished, the trance broke, and Ryan slowly turned towards me. He had a look in his eyes I had never seen. It was a combonation of fear, thanks, and one emotion I couldn't place. I tried, but he was hiding it. He wasn't trying to hide it, but I believe he was taught to hide that emotion when he was looking a a man. "I'm sorry you had to see that, Jake." He said flatly. "Ryan, take him to room 304. Thats a good place to start." Ryan nodded once, and walked over to me. "Follow me, please." I stood, and followed him out into the hall. I shut the door behind me, and immediatly he turned, and hugged me tightly. His head was buried in my chest. He was crying. "Thank you. Thank you so much. I don't know what you did to me, but I didn't feel anything." He didn't know I felt it. I intended to keep it that way. "I just took all your pain away, and replaced it with courage." I told him. My head was stil pounding from the drain. I knew I couldn't keep from showing my pain for long. "I need to stop by my room real quick." "Ok, make sure you call those gargoyles off this time!" I chuckled slightly, and walked off towards my room. I winced in pain as i turned. I moved too fast, and the pain worsened. He saw this, and knew immediatly what I had done. He frowned, and walked next to me to my room. "Why did you do that?" He asked, after I stopped my friends. "Why did I do what?" I asked, opening the bag I had brought. "Why did you take my pain? I could've handled it!" "I didn't want to see you in any pain. I don't know why, really, considering you were going to rip me to shreds earlier." He blushed, and turned away from me. " S .. Sorry about that." "Hey, thats ok." I smiled warmly. He looked at me, showing all of those emotions again. I tried, but couldn't find that last one. I was interupted by a loud crash, and a scream. I ran out the door, followed by Ryan, and headed for the direction of the noise. What I saw brought my eyes to a glowing black. The black vibrated through every vein, like the bravery earlier. Only it was flowing through every vein in my body. To be continued ... ********************************************************************* Got some nice feedback.
