He grabbed the kettle of hot water and poured it through the tealeaves. Josh reached up into the cupboard and grabbed 2 mugs from the top shelf. As he added the sugar and cream to the mugs he heard the sound of Pachelbel's Canon in D Major come floating upstairs from the den stereo. Josh quickly added the tea to the mugs and walked down the back stairs and then down the hallway to the den. Lance was sitting on the chair leaning on his knees with his head in his hands. He didn't heard Josh approach from behind. Lance began to mournfully hum along to the music coming from the speakers. He felt the hands rubbing his shoulders but it didn't bring him out of his trance. "Baby, have some tea, it might make you feel better." Josh said while handing him the steaming mug. Josh slipped in behind him on the chair and pulled Lance into a reclining position with Lance leaning his head on Josh's shoulder. "Why do they think that it is easier for us?" Lance asked mournfully. "What's that Pookie?" JC asked softly "Anything." Lance replied. "Everyone thinks that just because you are rich and famous everything is easy, it is also annoying that we are never allowed to be unhappy." "I know baby doll." Josh lamented, "But it is the price that we have to pay for the choices that we made." "I worked really hard to get into space. I tried to prove that I wasn't just another spoiler celebrity that just pays his way in without having to do any of the work. It has been a dream of mine for...forever. And now that I can't go, I can't even be upset about it because people will just say that I am just a whiny spoiled brat that didn't get his own way." Joshua stroked his lover's hair and ran his fingers through James' fingers. Just being there and letting his soul mate vent was the best thing to do in times like this. Trying to rationalize what was happening just made the whole situation more frustrating. "They just don't understand that rejection is hard no matter if you are rich or poor, famous or not, black or white. At least most other people can act upset. Not us we have to be in the spotlight. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't come home to your arms and just act the way that I feel. As much as they tell you to be real, I am not allowed to be real. I am forced to be the person that they want me to be." Lance sunk deeper into Joshua's arms. "I know baby, I know." Josh whispered. A single tear fell from Lance's eye just as Josh kissed the top of his head.
