How Deep Is Your Love
Chapter 41

Feb 14, 2006 Memphis, TN The Harless Residents

Joey's POV

Dang it's been a long time since we've all been together like this. The last time we all were together as a group, me and Brian were hiding out from Leighanne over in Canada. I'm glad things have changed since then and I'm happy to see that we're all together for a happy occasion. It seems Justin and Howard finally set a date to get married and today is that day. A year and a half ago when Howard asked Justin to marry him, most of us didn't think it would happen because of all the drama that was going on with Brian's brother Harry. But now that the dust has settled between the two of them, Howard and Justin are ready to take that final step and make things official.

"Hey baby what's going on? Why hasn't things started yet?" Brian asks me as he and Baylee walk over to me and sit down.

"I don't know," I tell him, looking around and then spotting Lynn and Paul talking to the priest and the look on Lynn's face spoke volumes. "I hope nothing's wrong with Justin or Howard."

"Oh no, I hope Justin didn't get cold feet again," Brian says, playing with Baylee in his lap. "That would surely cause some unneeded stress and drama today."

"I'm going to go check on him," I say just as my cell phone starts ringing. "Hello?"

Back of the House The Pool House (No Pun Intended)

We've been trying to calm him down now for the last two hours and he's still freaking out. I don't know what it is that's causing him to act this way, but he needs to get over it and quick. I know it's his wedding day and all, but enough's enough. He's acting like a child and a spoiled one at that. If it was all up to me, I'd smack him and get it over with and leave him here crying. The wedding was supposed to had started an hour ago and we're still back here dealing with this crap. If I was Howard, I'd leave his ass back here and find someone that's not going to chicken out every time they plan on getting married. This is the second time he's done this. Oh I give up. I'm going to let someone else deal with this. Pulling out my cell, I call Joey.

"Hello?" He speaks into his phone. "Josh is there something wrong?"

"Primadona Justin is freaking out back here. He's scared to go through with this," I tell him as I could hear him sigh.

Turning around, I see Lance walking out of the bathroom and shaking his head. Walking over to him, I motion for the door and he shakes his head no.

"Justin get your scrawny ass out here now," I say, banging on the bathroom door now. "This is the second time we've all come together here to bare witness to this day and you've backed out. You're not backing out. Do you love Howard?"

"Yes I love him Josh, how could you ask me something like that?" Justin says, sniffling. "I can't do it, I'll mess up."

"Justin I'll mess you up if you don't come out of that bathroom," I tell him, still banging on the door. "There are people here waiting on you and Howard to get married!"

"Josh calm down," Lance says, rubbing my shoulder now. "Banging on the door like that isn't going to get him out of there any faster."

"Oh he best get out of there or I'm going in there to get him. If I go in there, he's going to need a stretcher," I say, banging on the door more as it opens and Justin looks up at me and then at Lance. "You're an hour late!"

"I'm sorry," Justin says, wiping at his eyes. "Where's Howard?"

"He's in the house Justin, probably wondering why we're not outside getting this show on the road."

"I'm sorry, I'm just scared," he says as I shake my head.

"You've been scared two other times Justin. Enough's enough. You're getting married today. Me and Nick are tired of hearing you whine about this wedding. You either get married today or I kill you. Take your pick," I tell him as he stepped back from me with wide eyes.

"I know and I'm sorry Josh," he says, wiping at his eyes.

"Why are you so scared Justin?" Lance asks him as Joey walks into the room with Chris.

"I'm scared that I'll mess up our special day. If I mess this up everyone and I mean everyone will be here to see it and they along with Howard would remember it forever," he says, sniffling.

"Justin you're not going to mess up," I tell him, pulling him closer to me and hugging him. "Even if you do mess up, it's not what counts; Howard's love for you is all that matters."

"Yeah Justin," Lance says, rubbing his back now. "Howard loves you. He's not going to stop loving you because of something small like messing up something at your wedding."

"Promise?" Justin says, sounding like a little child.

"Promise," I say as Joey shook his head, trying to stifle a laugh. "Everyone is out there waiting and I can say for everyone that we've waited enough."

"Okay Josh," Justin says, wiping at his eyes again. "I'm ready now. Let's do this."

"Finally," I say as he smiled weakly at me, walking back into the bathroom and then washed his face.

"I can't go out there looking like I've been crying," he says as we just stood there looking at him.

20 Minutes Later Out in the Backyard

Howard's POV

Thank you Jesus, I've been waiting for over two hours for this and now it's happening. I was starting to get a little bit scared with this delay. With all the waiting, I thought that Justin had changed his mind about marrying me again. When Paul and Nick came in and told me that there was something wrong with Justin, I wanted to run to him, but I couldn't since we decided to do things the traditional way. Calling Josh to see what was going on, he informed me that Justin was a little upset and wasn't feeling well. Freaking out a little bit, Nick and Paul did what they could to calm me down while Josh and Lance did the same for Justin.

After about an hour of crying and thinking negatively, Josh called back and said that they were ready to get things started. Hearing that news, I perked up quickly and was ready to get through this so I could start my new life with Justin. It seems once they got him under control he told them what was going on. It's just like him to get upset and think he's going to mess things up. One of these days I'm going to break that out of him, but oh well. I love him and that's a little something I have to deal with that's part of the complete package.

It's almost four now and the wedding was supposed to had started at one. Things have kicked off and the people are heading to their seats. Turning around, I see my friend JT heading towards the stage with the rest of N Sync. Wondering what was going on, he picked up the microphone and looked directly at me.

"Good afternoon everyone," he says, smiling brightly. "I want to dedicate something to my best friend and his husband to be."

With that, the guys standing behind him started humming and then some music started playing.

How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cuz we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me
Do, do, do, do
How deep is your love

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it's me you need to show

How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cuz we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You're the light in my deepest darkest doubt
You're my saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And it's me you need to show

How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cuz we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

How deep is your love
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
'Cuz we're living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

Oh my God, that was so beautiful. I never knew he could sing like that. By the time the song was over, everyone that was supposed to be a part of the wedding was in their spot. JT had walked off the stage and I looked back just in time to see that he was heading towards a side table where his boyfriend Matt Damon was sitting. Smiling at the two of them, Matt waved at me and then pulled JT down and kissed him passionately on the mouth.

I'm so happy that I got a chance to be a part of this event. When I found out that Howard and Justin were getting married, I came up with this plan to sing for the two of them. I didn't have to do this, but I wanted to do something to thank him for setting me up with this hunk of a man right over there. Taking a bow and walking off the stage, I walked over towards the table and waved at Howard as he was watching me as I went. Leaning down to accept a kiss from my boyfriend Matt, everything was all right with the world.

"Baby that was so beautiful," Matt told me as I sat down in my seat. "As soon as I heard you singing, I had to stop what I was doing so that I could finally hear how angelic you sound."

"Sure baby," I say, smiling at him as he smiles and pulled my chair closer to him and then wrapping his arms around me.

The applause had died down and the wedding march music had started up. Looking at everyone in attendance, I saw Paul Harless walking over to Justin, I guess to check on him. Smiling and then hugging Justin, he turned around and walked away. Going back over to his seat with Justin's mom Lynn, I could see that the first few rows of chairs were occupied with the Harless and Timberlake family. Seconds later Josh Chasez walked over to Justin, took his hand and the two started walking slowly down the aisle. Turning around and looking at Howard, I saw that his sister Jesse was escorting him down the aisle.

As the two sets of people walked by, water works went off it seems in the first few rows. Lynn was the first one to start and then Justin's grandmother was next. Talk about show off, she's crying enough for everyone here. Ain't that much crying in the world.

After both couples had reached the stage area, Josh and Jesse stepped back away from Justin and Howard and took their seats. Jesse was in attendance with her husband AC and Josh was with his boyfriend Nick Carter. With the way things were going so far, this looked to be a happy event.

"Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. We're all gathered here today to witness the partnership of Justin Randall Timberlake and Howard David Marshall," the priest says, smiling brightly as Justin's grandmother lets loose with another set of fresh tears.

Oh God, they look so cute standing up there together.

"The contract of marriage is most solemn and is not to be entered into lightly, but thoughtfully and seriously with a deep realization of its obligations and responsibilities," the priest spoke all at once and then taking a breathe. He's old, he gon mess around and run out of breathe and fall over. "Please remember that love, loyalty and understanding are the foundations of a happy and enduring home."

I wonder if me and Matt will be together long enough to get married?

"No other human ties are more tender and no other vows more important than those you are about to pledge," the priest says, opening a book and placing it on the pedestal. "Do you Justin Randall Timberlake take Howard David Marshall to be your spouse and partner for life?" The priest asks as Justin opened his mouth and squeaked.

"I do," he says as I wanted to laugh, but did my best to hold it in.

"Do you promise to love and comfort him, keep him in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, for better or for worse and be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?" The priest asks him as he looked at Howard and then back to the priest.

"Yes I promise," Justin spoke as a few people in the audience breathe a breath of relief.

"Do you Howard David Marshall take Justin Randall Timberlake to be your spouse and partner for life?" The priest asks as Howard smiled over at Justin.

"I do," he says, looking back at Justin again.

"Do you promise to love and comfort him, keep him in sickness and in health, for richer and for poorer, for better or for worse and be faithful to him as long as you both shall live?" The priest asks him as he looked at Justin again.

"Yes I promise sir," Howard says.

Oh that was so romantic.

"Okay young man place the ring on his finger and repeat after me," the priest says as Justin took the ring off the velvet pillow Josh and Jesse were holding. "I give you this ring as a token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love. With this ring, I thee wed."

"I...I give...you...you this ring as a token and...and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love," Justin says, wiping his brow now. "With this ring I thee wed."

"Okay, now you," the priest says as Howard picked up the ring from the velvet pillow.

"I give you this ring as a token and pledge of my constant faith and abiding love. With this ring I thee wed," Howard says, smiling at Justin.

"Now that you two have joined yourselves in matrimony, may you strive all your lives to meet this commitment with the same love and devotion that you now possess," the priest says as Justin almost went down.

"Justin are you okay?" Howard asks him, doing his best to hold Justin up.

"I'm okay baby," Justin says as some `awwww's went out around the yard.

"May I continue?" The priest asks as Justin and Howard both nod their heads quickly. "By virtue of the authority vested in me by the State of Tennessee, I now pronounce you partners for life. You may now kiss."

With those words said, Justin and Howard started kissing each other like there was no tomorrow. To put it lightly, I could feel the passion of their kiss way over here. Wow, what a kiss that was. When the two of them pulled apart, Justin turned around and threw up his ring finger.

"I'm married now!" He screamed out as people around started clapping and someone threw a "it's about time" in there.

"They look so good up there," I say as Matt pulled me to him and we kissed again.

"One day that will be us baby," he says, kissing me around my neck.

"Baby stop, that's my spot," I tell him as he smirks at me.

"I know," he says, continuing to kiss me along the side of my neck.

Howard's POV

Wow we're married now. After all the stuff that has gong on today and the stuff that we've gone through since we've been together we're finally married. There are so many people here today and they can actually tell someone that they were here to witness this happy event for us. We're not walking back down the aisle hand and hand and his family is actually throwing rice at us. We wanted traditional and we're getting it right now. Now that we're married, I don't think anything else in the world can bring me down. I was praying that this went off without any hitches and God answered my prayers. Thank you God...

"I love you Justin," I say as I wrap my arms around him and we stop at the end of the aisle.

"I love you too Howard," he says as we kiss again and more applause starts behind us.

"Come on baby, let's get out of here," I tell him as we run towards the house, hopefully so that we can make out for a few minutes and get out of these monkey suits.
