Date: Mon, 01 Nov 1999 00:17:34 CST From: Jason Randall Subject: JC & Jas Part 15 Disclaimer: I am not assuming anything about the lives of anyone in this story. Many may wish things to be true, but who knows so don't be offended, just enjoy. If you're UNDER 18, stop reading this, and all that other legal stuff. This is my first attempt, and I know this story lacks sexual adventures, give it time, I want them to get to know eachother first, okay? In Jason's apartment: Jason, JC and Sarah spent most of the night talking about various things. Jason smiled as he listened to Sarah and JC share childhood memories with eachother and he slowly got up, excusing himself as he walked into the kitchen. JC's food was still in the fridge, while Sarah had gone up home earlier, Jason had looked up in JC's eyes, and JC had read his exact thoughts, asking Jason if he wanted to invite Sarah over for some pizza so they could get to know each other. `He's so sweet, he had this whole thing planned for me, but it meant more to him to please me by getting to know Sarah.' Jason sighed, it had been a great night, even though all they'd done was sit and munch pizza. Jason grabbed a bottle of water and headed back into the living room, sitting next to JC. JC naturally leaned over and put his arm around Jason's shoulder, resting his head next to his. Sarah watched this, and, smiling, she slowly got up. "Well guys, it's been real, but I need some sleep." She quickly exaggerated a yawn and headed towards the door. "It was absolutely wonderful meeting you JC, I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner, really." "Me too, Sarah, I'll see you later!" JC smiled. He genuinely had enjoyed the evening, promising himself to start from scratch with Sarah for Jason's sake, he'd found he really liked her, and could easily understand why she was Jason's best friend. Jason got up to walk Sarah out, squeezing JC's hand as he left his side. "Be right back." Jason closed the door softly behind him as he followed Sarah out into the hall. "I. . .I just want to say thank you." "Thank you for what? I should be thanking you for letting me back into your life, and allowing me to meet your incredibly sweet boyfriend." Sarah smiled softly. "That's why I need to thank YOU. You've done so much for me, you don't know what it means to me to know that you've realized how much he's done for me, and how much I love him." "Shh, I know sweetie, I'm sorry we ever fought." She leaned over and gave him a big hug. "Good night hun, I love ya!" "Love ya, too, sweetie! Sleep well!" Sarah walked down the hall as Jason turned to go back in his apartment. "JC?" He didn't see him anywhere. Suddenly he appeared in the doorway to the bathroom, and walked towards Jason. "I love you so much." JC said, almost overtaken with emotion. "I love you, too, sweetheart, I love you, too. What's wrong?" "Nothing, I just can't believe how incredibly sweet and kind you are. You just amaze me so much." "You amaze me, hun. With your talent and your incredible looks, and your kind heart to read my mind, knowing I wanted you two to become friends." Jason touched his hand to JC's heart. "This kind soul you have, you made me so happy tonight." JC grabbed Jason up in his arms and they held eachother for a long time, slowly swaying to music only they could hear. Jason slowly broke away, looking up into JC's eyes. "As I said earlier, I missed you today. I missed holding you, I missed touching you, I missed kissing you." he leaned up to kiss him lightly on the lips. JC kissed him back and then picked him up in his arms. "What?! What are you doing?!" Jason said, laughing. "I'm carrying you to bed. I've missed holding you all night long." In Lance's room: Justin and Lance finished eating during the first part of the movie. By the time it had gotten to the exciting parts, they had long since put the pizza box on the floor and turned out most of the lights. Lance was getting sleepy so he had to fight to keep his head from drooping and letting him fall asleep. Justin caught him struggling to stay awake and smiled. `God he's so cute, he's trying so hard to stay awake. . .' "Lance? I can go back to my room if you want to get some sleep? You look exhausted?" "Huh? Wha-? No, I'm," he yawned deeply, "just fine." He finished weakly. "Well, I guess I'm a bit tired, but I love this movie, I want to finish it." "Are you sure? Want me to sit on the floor so you can lay down?" "No, I'm fine." "Alright." "Justin?" "Yeah Scoop?" "Could you lend me that pillow?" Justin laughed. "Sure thing sleepy-head." Justin handed him the pillow as Lance curled up on the other side of the couch. Seeing him struggle to get comfortable made him smile. "Lance? You can put your feet on me if you want." Lance stretched out and rested his feet on Justin and turned back to the movie. Justin became engrossed in the images, he'd only seen the movie once and couldn't quite remember much about it. As it came to the end, he glanced down to see Lance sleepy peacefully, a small smile on his face. `It's about time you sleep soundly, not that I've minded holding you through the night.' Justin sighed. As he slowly got up, he placed Lance's feet back on the couch and smiled again as Lance gently kicked his feet from being moved. Lance slowly opened his eyes to see Justin shutting the TV off and grabbing a blanket off the bed. As he turned back towards him, Lance shut his eyes and pretended to be sleeping again. "Good night Lance, sleep soundly tonight, ok? I hate seeing you so upset. I, I, I. . ." Justin seemed to be at a loss for words so he tucked the blanket around Lance's shoulders, touched his head softly, and walked out of the room. Lance sat straight up on the couch. `I couldn't be. . .' He grabbed his cell phone from the table next to the couch. "Mmm, -ello?" "Mel? Hey, it's me. . ." "Hey!" "Hi, did I wake you?" "Yeah, but that's alright, what's going on? Hey! By the way when were you going to tell me you jerk!?" "Tell you what?" "That you guys are coming here next on your tour?!! I had to find out by the radio announcer, how cold. . ." She started laughing. "Well, I was going to tell you when I showed up at your door with tickets to the show and a ride to the hotel because you're going to be staying with us!" "AHHH!" Melanie started screaming from the other end of the phone and Lance held his away from his ear. "Mel? Mel? C'mon Mel, settle down!" Lance started laughing at her. "I'm excited too, but come back to me so we can talk about it!" "Oh, oh, I'm ok, I'm back, I'm just so happy! I haven't seen you in so long!" "I know, I was ecstatic when the schedule change was slipped under my door, I called and got the tickets right away! Anyways, how are you?" "I'm absolutely wonderful now. Especially because I thought I'd have to stand outside the radio station all night long to get tickets and fight with the 12 year olds! But, you didn't call at," she paused, checking her clock, "2:30 am to ask how I was. Let it out, hun." "Ok, well, I almost kissed Justin tonight." "You what?" "Yeah. . ." "Well, I know I told you he liked you, but I didn't think you'd downshift from JC quite this quickly." "Oh Mel, I wasn't kissing him because I'm in love with him. I love JC, I just think I got caught up in this moment we were having, and I'm lonely, and I don't know. But I do know if I had I would have lost his friendship forever, and you don't know how scared I got." "Oh hun, it's alright. Settle down. You didn't kiss him did you?" "No but if I had-" "Exactly. IF. Stop letting it bother you! I know you don't believe me but I seriously do think this kid has it for you-" "He's not a kid. . ." Lance said weakly. "Ah-ha! And as I suspected you're starting to feel something for him too!" "Mel, Don't start with that again, I am NOT-" "Ok, ok, this is beside my point anyway. AS I was saying, you don't mind if I continue, do you? Ok, so I think this fine young gentleman likes you, so I'm not to sure he would've minded, even if he HAD realized what you almost did, but you didn't, and he didn't, so life goes on, right?" "But, Mel-" "I know, hun, I know. But there's nothing I can do about it. All I can say is keep an open mind to your heart, and quit taking everything so seriously. Even if you HAD kissed him, and even if he is completely straight as an arrow, what would've happened, really?" "Well he never would've spoken to me again, and he would've told the other guys that I'm gay and trying to come on to him." "Well you ARE gay, and they will have to know eventually, especially if you ever plan on having a significant other, and secondly, if you told Justin that it was an accident, don't you think he'd understand? I mean, especially since he is such a fine young MAN now, he should be capable of understanding. . ." 'Like the kiss when I told him I was gay. . .' Lance sighed loudly. "What now?" "Oh I'm just wondering why you always have to be so damn right." "See? Not such a big crisis now was it? And just think, in a week you can have all my advice without the fee of your phone bill!" "Oh how easily you forget, I'm rich and famous, the phone bill is taken care of by my people!" Lance laughed as Melanie joined in. In Jason's apartment: "I love you, Jason." JC whispered softly as he ran his fingers through Jason's hair while Jason lay on his chest, staring out the window. "I love you, too, Josh." "Say, can we talk?" JC sounded as if he were about to cry. "Sure thing, sweetie, what's wrong?" "Oh, it's just. . ." "Shh. C'mon." Jason got up and grabbed the blanket that had been spread over the two of them. Grabbing JC's hand he slowly pulled him up and off the bed, leading him towards the door, each of them only in their boxers. "Jason? Where're we going? We're not dressed?!" "Don't worry, no one's ever up this late at night around here, just be quiet." He led them to the elevator, and pushed the up button. Moments later they were on an open floor, and soon walking up a short flight of steps. At the top they reached a door and walked out onto the roof. "God, it's beautiful up here!" "I know, I come up here all the time to think, no one ever bothers to think that this building is taller than all the others in this area. You can see everything! And the stars are so bright when you're higher than all the city lights. Now c'mere." As Jason pulled JC to him in a tight hug, JC sighed and went limp in his arms. Pulling him once again, Jason led him to the side of building and they leaned against a pillar that jutted out of the roof. Spreading the blanket over the two of them, Jason turned to face JC, holding both his hands in one of his and caressing his cheek with the other. "Ok, hun, tell me what's bothering you?" "It's just. . .well, up here, everything seems so wonderful. I mean, I have you, and the sky is clear, and everything is so beautiful, but, in a week, I'm not going to be here, and I'm not going to be holding you, and most importantly I can't look into those eyes and feel whole through your love." JC's head lowered and a single tear slid down his cheek. "JC, Josh, look at me." Jason lifted his cheek in his hand and wiped the tear with his thumb. "I can't tell you that we're not going to be apart, and I can't tell you that we're not going to feel empty without each other when you leave, but I can tell you that I love you, so much that I've never felt love this strongly before in my life, and no amount of space and time can break that love. When you leave, I know I'm going to feel broken and empty, but I know that we'll be together again, and even if we don't quite know when, as long as we promise each other that it's not over, that we will be together again, I know I'll be able to make it on that promise." "God Jason, I know we can, too. And I promise with all of my heart and soul, but to go even a day without being next to you, without feeling your hand in mine, or your head on my shoulder, or just your body next to mine, it's going to tear me up inside. . ." "It's going to hurt me, too, but we can make it through. This past week with you, it's been the best in my life, and knowing how much you've helped me overcome so much in so little time, you're my happiness, and just thinking of these precious days together, I'll be able to make it, I know I will. Will you wait for me?" "I will always wait for you, you're my love. I'm sorry, it's just I know how much I'm going to miss you, but I don't mean to make you think that I'm not going to keep loving you. We are together, and I don't want anything to come between us. If we can't be together in body, than we'll be together in mind. . ." "And a phone call every day!" JC laughed for the first time since they'd come on the roof, a last tear roaming down his cheek. "Yes, and a phone call every day, if not two!" Jason wrapped his arms around JC's neck. "We'll be fine, hun. I know now that you love me and won't desert me like Alex did, and I hope you realize that I will be right here when you get done touring and can be with me?" "I realize that, thank you. I just. . .well I didn't doubt you, but I guess I just. . ." "Needed to hear it out loud. . .Don't worry hun, I understand completely." 'I'd give up everything for you, I hope you realize that. . .' "Thank you for understanding Jason. . ." 'It's going to be hard but we are going to make it, I love him so much. . .' "But until you leave, we do have one full week together. Whaddya say, though, that first thing tomorrow we sit down with our schedules and find out when you can next come up and see me, and when I can meet you at someplace you're staying at?" "It sounds great, it sounds absolutely wonderful. Now let's enjoy your wonderful world you decided to share with me. . ." JC kissed Jason deeply, holding him close to his body. As Jason pulled away lightly, he laid his head on JC's shoulder and looked up at the stars, lightly kissing JC's neck. In Lance's room: "So what are we going to do when I get down there?" "I dunno. Small town Missouri doesn't have that much to offer. . ." "Well, whatever, we'll figure something out, I can't wait to be there!" "Me either! How long are you staying?" "Three days, so take off work now if you need to, cuz you're hanging out with me the whole time!" Melanie laughed. "Alright, sounds great to me! I needed the time off anyways, and I have it coming. So where're we staying?" "Oh, only the nicest for us. I'll have my people call you for sign in times." Lance laughed. "Enough of that, like you would ever have people anyways, you'd be too worried that they'd screw something up, so you'd end up doing everything yourself anyways!" "Hey! So I'm a little precocious. . ." "Oh I'm just kidding you hun!" "I know. . .god I can't wait to see you Mel, it's been so long!" "Seriously it has. . . I think I need to plan ahead to meet you somewhere so next time it isn't 6 months between our visits." "That'd be fun! We'll have to do that. . ." Lance yawned slowly, trying to hide it from Melanie. "Ahhh, was that a yawn I just heard?" "No, well, kind of. . .it's just been a long day, and I'm kind of sleepy. . ." "Yeah, and to think, you probably wouldn't have been able to sleep tonight without me!" Melanie laughed. "But that's what I'm here for, even if I'm already sleeping, if you're still awake you should always call me. . ." Lance started to apologize. "Oh, I'm just messing around sweetie, you know me, I wouldn't leave my phone plugged in if I didn't want to talk to you, you're the only one that calls me this late anyways!" "Well, thank you Mel, I seriously wouldn't able to sleep without you!" "And to think, I do all this for you and I don't even get an autograph. . ." "Yeah, I just figure if anyone doesn't ever believe you that we're friends, you'd invite them over and make me talk to them." "You know me too well, but I don't tell anybody bout us anyways. You're my special little secret." Melanie laughed. "But everyone's gonna be jealous as hell when I tell them I'm going to your concert!" Lance laughed. "Just tell them you fought off some 12 year olds with a baseball bat!" In Justin's room: 'He almost kissed me. . .YES!!!!!' Justin fell down on his bed with a 'PLOP', staring at the ceiling with a giant smile. 'God I sound like a little girl! But I don't even care!!!!' Justin got up and turned on the stereo, then frowned. He walked over to the phone. "Yes, could you tell me what station is your popular music here?" "Um, sure thing, um it's 101.3 Mr. Timberlake, KDWB." "Ah, thanks a lot, um, what's your name?" "Hannah." "Right, thank you Hannah." Justin heard the young girl screaming as he hung up the phone with a smile. As he set the radio station he heard Brian McKnight's "One" come on. "It's undeniable, that we should be together..." Justin smiled and sang along softly as he got ready for bed. In Lance's room: Lance sat up in bed, slowly looking around. 'God, Mel is getting to me, she's even got me thinking I've got a thing for Justin. . .' He'd just dreamt that he had actually kissed him the night before, but instead of the disaster that Lance had thought would happen afterwards, Justin had returned the kiss and the two of them had remained on the floor all night long, wrapped in each other's arms. 'It's just the power of suggestion. . .' Lance got up and headed to the shower, humming softly to a tune he'd just made up. In Joey's room: "So man, that was a wild time last night!" "Sure was." Chris replied, munching on some bacon. He'd come down to Joey's room after he'd woken up and they'd ordered room service. "Did you see that chick and how she wanted-" he was interrupted by a knocking at the door. Chris got up to see who was there. "Well I'll be damned, it LIVES. Look Joey!" He grabbed Lance's hand and dragged him in the room behind him, not even shutting the door. "He's ALIVE! That's one out of three!" "Oh c'mon now. . ." "No seriously man, you c'mon, we haven't seen you guys since before after the concert the other day." "Well it han't been that long. . ." "Whatever! Sit down, join us. Well, you better call room service, we didn't expect company so I don't think there's enough for you!" Lance laughed and picked up the phone, placing his order. He'd missed the other guys, despite how much fun he'd had with Justin over the past few days. He smiled and began joking around with the other guys. In Justin's room: Justin woke up slowly, opening one eye at a time and stretching his arms over his head. He'd had a very peaceful sleep, dreaming of him and Lance and various other things that made him smile as he sat up. He got into the shower and out quickly, glancing at the clock as he pulled his boxers on. 'Only 10a.m. . .hmm, Lance would be proud. . .' He picked up the phone, trying to think of something for him and Lance to do before he called. He saw the basketball laying in the corner ever since the day they'd met Jason. 'Perfect.' He dialed Lance's number and was upset when he didn't pick up. 'Maybe he's in the shower. . .' He picked up again and tried JC's cell. After 7 rings, Justin was about to hang up when he heard muffled noises. "Ughhhh-yeah?" "Good morning to you, too, sunshine!" "God Justin, it's gotta be like. . .sometime before noon, what do you want? This is one of our few days OFF, remember?" "Well, I for one don't want to waste one of these beautiful days sleeping!" "Alright, now I KNOW something's up. No one loves sleeping more than me except you. What gives?" "Nothing, I'm just in a good mood. What are you and Jason up to today?" "Well, we had planned on sleeping in, but now that that's ruined. . ." "Oh shut up. You needed to get your lazy butt outta bed anyways." "Well, whatever. Why do you care?" "We should go do something. I know you two lovebirds are enjoying your private time but I haven't hung out with you in forever it seems!" JC remembered what Jason had said about him and Justin needing to talk so he didn't leave him out. "Well, what do you wanna do?" "I dunno, was thinking some basketball?" "Sounds cool J, when?" "Well, it's 10:30 now, how about at like noon, we meet at that park we were at when we met Jason?" "Perfect, say Justin. . ." "It's cool, JC, bring Jason with." "Oh, well yeah, that I guess, but I was actually wondering, are you ok?" "What do you mean?" "Well, with me and Jason, and us not spending that much time together?" Justin thought about it for a minute. In the whole week he'd been spending all of his time with Lance, he hadn't even thought about the fact that he and JC we're spending all their time together. "Hey man, it's totally cool, I wouldn't have just invited Jason if I didn't think so, and beside, I get you for the whole tour. Let Jason get sick of you for a little while, I have many chances to get ill." "Very funny Curly, very funny. We'll see ya at noon, kay?" "That's what I said, bye!" To Be Continued.
