Date: Wed, 24 Nov 1999 18:57:07 PST From: Chris L Subject: Kevin and Chris 26-28 Kevin & Chris Part 8: Chapters 26-28 Legal Note: Don't read this if your under 18 years of age or whatever age is legal in your area. The following story is FICTION and shouldn't be taken like it's real or anything. It's not real. I'm not saying the boys are gay or that they act the way I portray them. Anything that is licensed is so and I am not an affiliate of the places mentioned below. Authors note at the beginning for a change, sort of, because I just wanted to say that the rest of the installments are going to be in third person format. It's easier to write that way. So it's not through Chris' eyes or Kevin's eyes. Lot's of stories are written like this, and I figure that I'll just be one of those. Anyway, on with the story. Chapter 26 Chris woke up the next morning to a strange feeling. Remembering what had happened the night before, he was surprised to find himself in a pair of boxers and having a thick down blanket on top of him. He stirred a little and realized that his head wasn't on a pillow. It was on Kevin's lap. "Baby, go back to sleep, it's early." Kevin whispered. Chris settled into the sofa and turned his head so he faced the TV, Kevin was flipping channels. He stopped on the news and gently rubbed Chris' back as the two watched. "Brush your teeth so you can take your pill." Kevin said, slowly pulling Chris closer to himself. Chris nodded and went to the bathroom to brush. Kevin flipped the channels a few more times as he waited for Chris and began watching the entertainment news. "Backstreet Boy Kevin Richardson saves a passenger's life on flight to Orlando." The reporter said as pictures of Kevin carrying a sleeping Chris through the airport. "His name and condition are not yet released and there is no comment from the boys or their management company." Kevin let a low snicker escape his lips as he watched the false report. Chris walked back out and Kevin handed him a few saltine crackers. "Crackers?" Chris asked. "What a healthy breakfast..." "You need food with your pills, so eat those now, and we'll get you something bigger on the way to the studio." Kevin smiled. "Studio?" Chris asked before eating the saltines. "Yeah, we have to record a b-side for the new single." Kevin said, pulling Chris down onto his lap. Chris picked up the bottle of water off of the coffee table and his pill. After popping his pill in, Kevin pulled Chris into a loving hug. "I love you." Kevin whispered. Chris turned his head around and the two met in a soft kiss. Chris ran his hands through Kevin's matted hair and Kevin let his hands roam Chris' back. "When do you have to be at the studio?" Chris asked. Kevin glanced over at the clock, and after a quick pause, he answered, "Twenty minutes." Chris reluctantly started to get off of Kevin, but Kevin pulled him back towards himself. "Baby...you got some messages." Kevin said. "You have a Backstreet staff meeting and another phone conference with your mom and the lawyers." Chris crinkled his face, and Kevin hugged him closer. "Don't worry, that's only for about two hours, then we'll go out. The tour starts tomorrow." "Two hours without you? Don't think that I can make it." Chris joked. "Try your best, plus you'll have so much on your mind, you probably won't even be thinking about me." Kevin laughed. They two walked into the bathroom laughing, getting ready for the monotonous day ahead. "So Linq gets the money if I can't... yeah, yeah, yeah." Chris sighed. He was sitting in the mixing room, watching Kevin and the other Backstreet Boys record their b-side. "No, I really don't want him to visit." He said into the phone. "Yeah, I'm sure. Thanks a lot, bye mom. Love you lots." The boys finished their song, and Chris looked into the booth, giving Kevin a small wave as he pushed the 'end' button on the phone. Kevin gave him a wink, and Chris could hear him count 'one, two, three four,' into his microphone. The boys started some a cappella chords and Chris rolled his chair closer to the glass. The tune sounded familiar to him, but he couldn't place it until Brian came in with the vocals. From the moment I wake up Before I put on my make up I say a little prayer for you Chris smiled from ear to ear, and so did all the guys when they saw him. They began to sing with smiles on their faces instead of the passive expressions they had on earlier. While combing my hair now While wondering what I'll wear now I say a little prayer for you Chris shook his head as Kevin smiled at him, this was all his idea, he was sure. Changing the dress lyric probably wasn't, though. Whoever did, though, couldn't change the thought that Kevin had put into this. Forever and ever, you stay in my heart And I will love you Forever and ever, it's how it must be To live without you Would only mean heartache for me The song brought the memories of that those first few days that Chris and Kevin shared together: the trip to Boston, the carving in the bench, the shopping trip, and that night. The first night that they made love, the night that Chris gave himself to Kevin. I run for the bus dear While riding I think of us dear I say a little prayer for you At work I just take time And all through my coffee break time I say a little prayer for you Forever and ever, you stay in my heart And I will love you Forever and ever, it's how it must be To live without you Would only mean heartache for me I say a little prayer for you I say a little prayer for you Kevin gave Chris one last dazzling smile as he took his verse. As Kevin's mellow voice sang through the speakers. His voice bringing comfort and joy into Chris's heart. Now darlin' believe me (believe him) For me there is no one but you Please love me too (answer his prayer) And I'm in love with you (answer his prayer now) Answer my prayer now (answer his prayer now, baby) Say you love me too... The boys' voices blended in with Kevin's as they sang the final chorus with all their heart. Forever and ever, you stay in my heart And I will love you Forever and ever, it's how it must be To live without you Would only mean heartache for me "That was for you baby." Kevin said, pointing right at Chris through the glass. After a few minutes, Chris was sitting on Kevin's lap while he was working on the mixing board. The two songs, 'If You Knew What I Knew' and 'I Say a Little Prayer' were coming through the speakers over and over and over, with slight changes the boys were adding. "How was the conference, baby?" Kevin whispered. "Both of them were boring. The bus is getting 12 bunks, though, so we won't have to share." Chris whispered back. Kevin gave a slight frown, and Chris smiled, "Anyway, we were discussing what would happen if I couldn't get the things that my dad left for me." "Why wouldn't you be able to collect your inheritance?" Kevin asked, still transfixed on the task at hand. "Like if I die or something." Chris said nonchalantly. Kevin didn't take it as a joke, his hands slipped and he pushed the mixing slides up. The sound through the speakers sounded like Alvin and the Chipmunks it was so high pitched. "Baby, whoa, calm down." "That's not going to happen." Kevin said as he readjusted the board. "I'll never let anything happen to you." He was dead serious, and he released Chris from their hug for a split second, not on purpose, but that split second gave Chris a weak feeling inside. He knew Kevin wasn't joking, he felt safe in Kevin's arms, and that's where he wanted to stay. "Chris, can I see you for a second?" Brian said from the door, Chris jumped in Kevin's lap. Brian had startled both of them. "Yeah, sure." Chris said, slightly panicked, he shook himself before getting off of Kevin, and walked out with Brian. Chris turned around to look at Kevin before stepping out, Kevin had turned his chair around and gave Chris a smile and a small wave goodbye. Outside, Brian led Chris into the next room, it was just like the one he was in before, except this one was empty and silent. Brian and Chris sat down in the two swivel chairs. They turned their chair to face each other, and Chris let out a sigh. "Kevin's really serious about the songs." "Yeah, that's Kev for you. He's what I wanted to talk to you about." Brian said. "I didn't tell him to do the song, I swear." Chris said defensively. "That's not it, the song was great, lots of fun too." Brian smiled. "I just wanted to thank you for getting the real Kevin out." Chris gave him a questioning look. "What you saw in that room there was Kevin the Backstreet Boy. The serious, workaholic, stubborn Kevin, but when you're with him he's himself again. He's the person that I remember messing around with when we were younger. You've brought him back." Chris nodded, "Ummmm...no sweat, anytime." "It's not that simple, Chris." Brian said, "The guys are really grateful for everything you've done, the looks you give him, the smiles, the happy touchy things that you do. They bring out the Kevin that we all remember and the Kevin that we've missed. Thanks to you, he's not living in that shell anymore. You were the only person that could get him out, and I just wanted you to know that. The robot is gone, Kevin found his heart again, and it's you." He pulled Chris into a hug, surprising him. Chris hesitantly returned the hug, patting Brian on the back. "Are you telling me that Kevin used to be, I mean he wasn't always the Kevin that he is now?" Chris asked. Brian shook his head. "He would get up, do the show, and go back to bed. He was a robot. Sure, he went clubbing once in a while, but he wasn't all there, there was something missing, and that was you, you brought the life back into him. That trip to Boston, the presents, the whole leaving Florida thing, that's not Kevin. That's spontaneous, edge of your seat stuff, and we missed that, we're glad to have it back." That brought a smile to Chris' face knowing that he made Kevin happy made him happy too. A knock on the door interrupted Brian and Chris' little pep talk. "Chris? Baby?" Are you in there?" Kevin questioned. "Brian, the track's done." "Yeah, Kevin, I'm here." Chris half-yelled. Kevin walked in, holding a paper plate with a piece of cheesecake on it, a smile across his usually stern face. "Got this for you at the cafeteria." Kevin said, handing Chris the plate. "Brian didn't tell you too much did he?" Kevin joked. Chris shook his head, "Not at all." Brian smiled, "I'll go check the track out, thanks for the talk, Chris." He stood up and walked out, waving to the two over his shoulder. "So did you two talk about, seriously." Kevin said, taking the fork from Chris' hand and picking up a piece of cake. "Nothing much." Chris said hesitantly. "So what are we doing tonight?" "Changing the subject...I'll get it out of you soon enough." Kevin grinned. 'Is this the side that Kevin that the guys missed?' Chris thought. 'Is there another side?' He shook himself, "Yeah, I'll tell you later." Kevin pulled Chris onto his lap again, this time they were facing each other. Kevin let out a long sigh. "When was the last time I told you that I loved you?" He asked, wrapping his arms around Chris' waist. Chris met Kevin's smile with one of his own, "I honestly don't know, but I wouldn't mind if you told me again." "I love you." Kevin said. "I love you too." Chris replied happily. He closed his eyes and leaned down to give Kevin a kiss, and felt Kevin push his head down to speed up the motions. Chris let out a gasp of surprise and Kevin reassured him by pulling him closer. Chris opened his mouth to welcome Kevin's tongue, and ran his own tongue over Kevin's as soon as it entered his mouth. He reached down to Kevin's chest, lower to his waist, and up under his shirt. He felt Kevin's firm stomach as it rose and fell with Kevin's breathing, Chris moved higher, running his hands over Kevin's nearly hairless pecs. Kevin moaned into the kiss, reaching lower, until Chris stopped the kiss abruptly. Kevin opened his eyes, and saw Chris staring back, tears forming in his eyes. "Baby, what's wrong?" Kevin asked, trying his best to wipe the tears away. Chris' barriers broke down, and the tears came flowing down his face. "Did I do something wrong?" Chris shook his head, "No, I'm sorry, it's just that Brian told me some things that I didn't know," he sobbed. "Before...us...me...me and you, were you sad?" Kevin's face grew stern. "We don't have to think about that, baby. I had my heart broken once, and when I found you, it was like we were meant for each other, I can't imagine myself with anyone but you." He held Chris tight, and Chris lay his head on Kevin's shoulder. "I was depressed, but that's in the past, everything's changed, and for the better." Kevin said, he looked into Chris' gray eyes, they had stopped their tearing. "Why didn't you tell me earlier?" Chris asked, hugging Kevin closer, feeling his heart beat against his own. "Would it have mattered?" Kevin asked back. Chris shook his head, and a smile crept onto his face. "Nothing matters but what happens now." Chris said. Kevin nodded in agreement. Kevin began rocking back and forth, and he let out a sigh. "Do you want to go somewhere?" Kevin asked. "I don't care, as long as I'm with you." "Let's go, then." Kevin said, standing up. The two walked out of the studio, and Kevin grabbed Chris' hand, to his surprise. Chris looked into Kevin's eyes, and his questioning look was returned with one of comfort from Kevin. They stopped in the studio and waved a goodbye at the guys, who waved back. Nick was doing some touch up vocal work, and waved at us through the glass. They walked out to Kevin's car, "Let's go home, so I can change into something more comfortable, and we'll go out somewhere. Sound good?" He asked. "Sounds great." Chris said. Kevin was wearing some jeans and a short-sleeved button up shirt. It was sort of hot, so Chris understood Kevin's need to change. They got back to Kevin's house, which Chris didn't really get to see last night, it was a medium sized house, with two big trees in the front yard. Kevin pulled into the driveway, and the two of them got out. "Like it?" Kevin asked, practically gushing with pride towards his house. He pulled Chris into a hug. Chris nodded, and leaned back onto Kevin. "Are you tired?" Again, Chris nodded, and Kevin picked him up, just like he did at the airport. "What are you doing?!" Chris yelled, surprised at the sudden move. "Put me down!" Kevin laughed and put him down. "Let's get inside." Chris suggested. Kevin grabbed his hand, and the two went inside. After showing Chris the inside of the house, they went up to the bedroom, where the bags were. "So we get to sleep up here tonight?" Chris asked, looking around the bedroom. "As much as I'd like to, baby, we can't the bus is going to be picking us up around ten or ten thirty. The tour starts tomorrow." "So as soon as we get back from wherever we're going, we have to hop onto the bus and we're off to where again?" "We're going west." Kevin said. "In three weeks, we'll be in L.A. We get break for a week, and then we're off again. Such is the life of a Backstreet Boy." He started to unbutton his shirt, revealing his sculpted chest to Chris. Kevin pulled off his faded jeans leaving him in a pair of blue boxers. Chris couldn't help but stare at the site before him. Kevin Richardson, the object of every teenage girl's affection, was in his boxers before him. Chris smiled as Kevin walked towards him, still in his boxers, and sat down next to him on the bed. "Would you be disappointed if we didn't go out tonight?" Kevin asked. "No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't care if this was another pizza and a movie night." "Well, that's what we'll have then. I'll call for a pizza, and we'll sit around watching TV." Kevin smiled. Fifteen minutes later, Chris and Kevin were both showered, on the sofa, watching reruns of 'I Love Lucy,' with a pizza. "I've never seen this episode." Chris laughed, Kevin pulled him closer, and ran his hands under Chris' shirt. He picked up the remote, and turned off the TV. Chris turned his head to question his actions, but Kevin pulled Chris to his lips, and every thought he had about the show evaporated from his mind. His hands reached to take off his own tee-shirt, so he and Kevin would both be shirtless. Kevin helped him remove his shirt, and moved his lips to Chris' neck, suckling the sensitive skin. Chris gasped at the sudden warmth on his neck, and he ran his hands roughly over Kevin's muscled back, down to his flannel pajamas. Kevin lifted his hips, and Chris pulled them down to Kevin's hips, along with his boxers. Chris pulled Kevin off his neck, and back to his lips. Kevin pushed down on Chris, his tongue venturing deeper into Chris' mouth. Chris used his legs to push Kevin's pants and boxers completely off of his body, his hands ran to Kevin's now exposed cock, stroking the hard, steely flesh. Kevin hissed through his teeth, pushing Chris's hands down, and raising it again, wanting, needing more speed and pressure. With his free hand, Chris pushed Kevin down and brought his lips to Kevin's neck, then down to his shoulders, and lower to his chest, his hand still stroking Kevin's cock. Bringing his hands to Kevin's shapely abs, he gently licked the tip of Kevin's dick. "Oooh...baby, Chris...please..." Kevin groaned. Chris kept his smile inside and continued licking, and began to suck on the throbbing cock. Kevin arched his back, trying to slip more of his hard cock into Chris' warm mouth. Chris spared Kevin the agony of waiting, and took as much of Kevin's cock into his throat. Kevin let out a loud groan as Chris took almost all of his thick meat into his throat. Kevin's moan fueled Chris' passion, and for the first time, he tried to take Kevin completely into his throat, the long shaft almost choking him, but he tried, and he got it all in. Kevin screamed in delight as he looked down at Chris, and his entire cock lodged in Chris' mouth. "Oh...Chris...you didn't...oh...uh...have to do that." Kevin whispered his voice sounded dry. He stopped his mumbling as Chris began to slowly raise his head, sucking and licking all the way up, and back down again. Kevin's hips involuntarily began thrusting into Chris, and not long after, Chris raised so that only Kevin's cock-head was in his mouth. He licked and sucked at the slit, using all the energy he had left. Kevin let out a low, pleading groan as he shot his hot load into Chris' mouth. Chris savored the sweet syrupy liquid, letting it run over his tongue, savoring the taste before swallowing. Kevin pulled Chris so that he was lying on top of him, chest to chest, and wrapped his arms around Chris' sweaty body. Chris' hand went back down to Kevin's slick dick, and started to rub it, trying to bring it back to full hardness. Kevin began to say something, but Chris silenced him with a kiss, feeling Kevin's rough goatee on his smooth chin. Kevin was completely hard again, and he rolled the couple over so that he was on top. "Kevin...I love you." Chris whispered. Kevin smiled, "Baby, I love you more than you'll ever...ever know." Chris smiled, he pulled Kevin close, and felt his long cock rubbing at his own hole. He groaned at the feeling, now all to familiar. Kevin pushed in deeper, feeling his cock enveloped in Chris' tight hole. The pleasure taking over his body, he was out of control as he pushed the rest of his cock into Chris' ass. Kevin stopped all movement, so Chris could get used to his thick cock up his ass. Kevin felt Chris pull him into another deep, passionate kiss, and he began slowly began thrusting into Chris. Chris grunted at the pleasure spiked with the slight pain from his stretched asshole. He urged Kevin on with his groans, and felt the response as Kevin thrust into him with more speed and force. Kevin was surprised with Chris' sudden horneyness. Chris's hands reached Kevin's strong shoulders and held them as Kevin fucked him full force. They were still kissing, but Kevin released his lips to let out a loud groan, and screamed Chris' name. Chris pulled Kevin back to his lips, he needed to kiss Kevin as they made love, it was something that he just needed, and he couldn't explain it. "Kevin...I can't hold it back..." Chris whispered, his breathing heavy. Kevin groaned and nodded, he was nearing the edge at an unimaginable speed. Chris let out a scream that could wake the dead before he came between his and Kevin's slick bodies. The contractions in his ass squeezed Kevin's thick cock as he tried hard to thrust and not cum. He grabbed Chris tight, and stopped all movement. Chris felt every muscle in Kevin's body tense, making every curve and detail of his body more prominent. He felt the expansion of Kevin's hot cockhead as it released Kevin's second load of the night into Chris' ass. He shivered with pleasure as he felt the warm sensation in his bowels. Kevin pulled out slowly, his sensitive cock softening. Chris held Kevin's sweaty body, one hand ran through Kevin's damp hair, the light streaks showing in the soft light. No words were exchanged as the two came down from their sexual high. Chris' eyelids were laden with fatigue, and he could feel himself slowly drifting off to sleep. Kevin kissed his forehead gently, "Good night, baby." Kevin grabbed the afghan from a nearby armchair and covered Chris' tired body after pulling some boxers on him. Kevin lay down next to him, and wrapped Chris in his strong muscled arms. He noticed Chris shifting in his shallow sleep and looked around the living room for Mickey. He was on the same armchair the afghan was on, and Kevin reached over for it. He grabbed it and placed it into Chris' arms before drifting off to sleep himself. Chapter 27 Kevin woke up, his watch quietly beeping. He reached over to pick it up from the coffee table, and released Chris from the tight hug they were engaged in. Kevin tried hard to free himself without waking Chris, and he succeeded. He walked over and picked out an outfit for himself and one for Chris. He set it on the armchair next to Chris and called A.J. to make sure the bus was going to be on time. After catching a quick shower and packing a few more little things, he went back out to the living groom to wake Chris. He looked down at Chris, clutching the tattered stuffed animal he was sleeping peacefully. He looked like an innocent child to Kevin's eyes. Kevin shook Chris gently, causing him to wrap the covers tighter around his body. Kevin smiled, and shook him again. Chris opened his eyes and groaned as the light hit his eyes. It was about ten and the bus would be coming in about half an hour. "Baby, wake up." Kevin said. Chris turned to face Kevin. "You have to get ready." Chris nodded and sat up. Kevin handed him the clothes off of the table and he walked off to the bathroom. Kevin went to the study, it was more like an office, and checked the fax machine. There were just some reminders and some memos for Chris. He read the papers over, and brought them downstairs, where Chris was putting some things into his backpack. "Awake now?" Kevin joked. "Yeah, I'm awake, but I'm still tired. 45 minutes isn't enough sleep." Chris complained. Kevin smiled and gave Chris a tender kiss on the lips. "The guys will be here any minute now. You got some messages, though." Kevin said, handing Chris the papers. "Who's this Linq person?" "She's my cousin. She's what me and my mom were discussing over the phone while you were at the office." Kevin nodded. "Want to tell me anything about that meeting?" "Linq will get all my inheritance if I can't." Chris said. "That's about it." "Is Linq someone that I'll get to meet?" Kevin asked. "Not if I can help it. I hate her." Chris stated with disgust. "That's not nice to say." Kevin smiled. "She's that bad, huh?" "You don't know the half of it." Chris said, and Kevin pulled him on top of him, the fabric of their warm-up pants making swishing noised as they ran over each other. Chris leaned in for another kiss, but they were interrupted by a loud honk outside of the house. "That's the bus." Kevin sighed. Chris got off of him, and they both grabbed their backpacks and luggage. They walked outside of the house and Kevin turned around to lock the door. Chris nearly dropped his bags as he looked at the bus. It was shiny stainless steel, and it was huge. Huge was an understatement. It took up almost half the block. Kevin smiled as Chris stood there stunned, and he nudged Chris along. "You should see the inside." He gleamed. The two quickly walked to the bus and boarded. They were greeted by most of the guys. "Hey Just." Chris said, smiling. "To the back." Kevin said, gently pushing Chris deeper into the bus. Justin stepped aside, and the two walked further, past a set of six bunks, then past a small kitchen area, the bathrooms, and past some more bunks. Kevin pointed to the bottom bunk, and Chris slid his things into the shelf under the bunk, and grabbed the sweater from around his waist. He put it on as Kevin put his things with Chris'. Chris smiled as he put the sweater on, he could smell Kevin in it, and even though Kevin got one just like it for him, he still liked wearing Kevin's. "Sorry for rushing you, the bags were getting heavy." He sighed. "Do you want to go back to bed?" Kevin asked. "I think I'm going to look around some." Chris said. Kevin nodded, and hopped into the bunk. He pulled Chris down for a quick kiss before sliding the curtain closed. Chris walked further into the back, where there was another little recreation area. Nick and Brian were playing video games, and Howie was on the phone in the corner. They waved, and Chris sat down on the sofa to watch the guys play video games. After a few minutes, Christina and Justin came into the room, and sat down next to Chris. "Hey buddy, long time no see!" Christina said chipperly. "So what do you think of being on the road?" "The first five minutes of it were kinda cool, but it all went downhill from there." Chris joked. "Not much different from home." "Wait for a week, and you'll be wishing that you were home." Justin laughed. Howie walked out of the room, he looked angry. "So what have you two been up to for the past few days?" Chris asked. "Dance rehearsals." They said in unison. "And vocal." They both said, they looked at each other and laughed. "Nice earring." Justin said, trying to change the subject. "Still got it in, I see." "Kevin likes it." Chris said. "I knew he would." Christina giggled. "So you're sleeping in Kev's bunk?" "I might." Chris sighed. "I have my own right on top of his." "Top, eh?" Justin snickered. Chris shook his head, and laughed. "Perv." "Fine, I'll stop." Justin said, rolling his eyes. The three hung out for a while longer, trying out the video games with Brian and Nick. Chris walked back to the bunks after Nick had beaten him at the video games twenty some times. He opened the curtain, and peered inside, Kevin was reading, or he had been, he was asleep, with the book still on his chest. Chris took it off and stuck in his bookmark. He set it aside, and took off his sweater and tee shirt, leaving him shirtless like Kevin. He stuffed them under the bunk and hopped inside with Kevin. Kevin woke up, surprised at the movement next to him, and wrapped his arms around Chris. The bunk was small, but it was big enough for the two of them. Kevin held Chris tightly, and he grabbed Chris' Mickey from the side nearest the wall of the bus. "Mind if I get the window?" Chris asked. "Not at all." Kevin smiled. The two got out, and then Chris scooted inside. He held his Mickey tight and Kevin spooned him again. "Like the whole living on the bus thing?" Kevin asked. "I'll get used to it." Chris whispered. "QUIET!" A.J. and Howie screamed from their bunks. "They can hear everything we say?" Chris whispered. Kevin nodded slightly, and whispered a "Shhhhh." Chris settled into the pillow and pulled the sheets tighter around his body. "I love you so much." He whispered. "I HEARD THAT!" A.J. yelled. This didn't help, as it caused a plethora of shut ups and quiets from the rest of the guys. Chris and Kevin smiled to themselves as they both drifted off to sleep. Chris woke up, rolling over slightly, expecting to feel some resistance from Kevin's body, but when he felt none; he rolled over a little more, his eyes still closed. Chris reached over to wrap an arm around Kevin, but he felt nothing but air. He rolled over one last time, hoping to find Kevin somewhere. Next thing he knew, he was lying in the small walkway that ran down the middle of the bus, with Kevin staring down at him. "We're on a bus baby." Kevin smiled. "Looking for me?" Still disoriented, Chris rubbed his face. "Bus? Oh yeah..." He groaned. He slowly got up, and sat down on the bunk. Scratching his head, he asked, "When are we going to be getting off the bus?" "Later today. We have some things to do, and so do you." Kevin sighed, and sat down next to Chris. "So you missed me that much?" He asked, wrapping his arms around Chris. "I always miss you when we're apart, but this time, I felt weird without you next to me." Chris said, resting his head on Kevin's shoulder. "You have to get dressed, we're stopping for breakfast in a few minutes." Kevin said. "Where's everyone else?" Chris asked. "They're still asleep." Kevin replied. Chris gave a questioning look, "And why are you up?" "I'm always up first." Kevin said. Chris rolled his eyes, and flopped back into bed, wrapping himself tightly in the sheets. "Hey! Get out of there!" Kevin laughed. "No! I'm going back to bed! It's way too early!" Chris argued. Kevin shook his head, and wrapped Chris in his arms. Chris sighed, he was relieved at Kevin's ease of mind. To his surprise, Kevin picked him up and carried him out of the bunk. Chris kicked and screamed, the colder air outside of the bunk enveloping his body. The thin sheets wrapped around him didn't do much to keep in the heat. "Baby, everyone's gotta get out of bed eventually." Kevin smiled. He grabbed an outfit and stuffed it under his arm, still carrying a struggling Chris. Moving into the back recreation room, Kevin opened a door in the back that led to a bathroom and changing room. He put Chris down and shut the door. "You're getting heavy!" He joked. "I didn't know there was another bathroom back here..." Chris said. "Yeah, well, it's bigger..." Kevin said, pushing Chris against the wall. "And you know what that means...we got room." Kevin brought his head to Chris' and their lips made contact after a long night of forced silence. Chris scooted his body so that they were in a more comfortable position, and pulled Kevin closer. Just as Kevin's tongue was starting to run against Chris', the two could hear the sounds of feet approaching. They reluctantly broke their kiss, and Chris grabbed a toothbrush. "Anyone in here?" The guys heard A.J. ask. "We...I'll be right out." Chris said to A.J., the toothpaste muffling his voice. "You two hurry up!" A.J. screamed. Kevin and Chris laughed and quickly got ready. "He's always up next." Kevin laughed. Chris quickly finished brushing and got dressed. The two walked out of the bathroom into the rec. room, where an impatient A.J. stormed past the two. Some of the other guys were waiting too. "Took you two long enough." A.J. said as he rushed by. "No hanky panky on the bus, you know we can hear everything." Justin laughed, his eyes glued to the TV, where as usual, Nick and Brian were playing video games. "You got work to do, Chris." Brian said. "We're going to do a new video tomorrow." "See what I have to go through for you to win those silly little MTV video music awards?" Chris joked with Kevin. "I have to put up with workaholics like Brian. It's not worth it." "You can do it while we're at rehearsal and sound check." Kevin said, pulling Chris into the less empty bunk area. "We're almost there, do you want to start now?' "Maybe...Unless you want to do anything else." Chris said. "When are we going to get there?" Just then, the bus stopped at one of those middle-of-nowhere-next-to-the-freeway fast food stops. The whole herd of guys, plus Christina, practically ran off of the bus, and into the McDonalds. Kevin and Chris straggled on behind, with Christina just a little bit ahead of them. "Hey! Come on!" Christina yelled. She waited for Chris and Kevin to catch up and they walked to the restaurant together. "Bored yet?" She asked Chris. "I have work to do." Chris said. "No time to be bored." The three of them got in line behind all of the other guys. After about fifteen minutes, the three of them were sitting at a booth in the back. "So there's a concert tonight, you got front row, right?" Christina said, punching Chris lightly on the arm. Chris looked towards Kevin, "Do I?" "You got backstage access." Kevin said. "You get to sit on the side of the stage, unless you want seats." "As long as I can see you, I'll be alright." Chris smiled. "Your mushy stuff gets so annoying after about five minutes." Christina said, glancing at her watch. "Get used to it." Kevin gleamed. "We're going to be together for a long time." "Are we?" Chris asked him. They never really talked about their relationship, other than how much they liked it, and how much the two of them wanted it to work. "Well I want us to be." Kevin said, raising an eyebrow at Chris. "I do too." Chris smiled, inching closer to Kevin. Their hands met under the table, and they looked into each other's eyes. "Your five minutes is over now." Christina said, breaking up Chris and Kevin's little moment. The two of the sighed, still getting used to not showing their affection in the public, even if it was in the boondocks. After quickly finishing their meal and hopping back onto the bus, the guys all gathered in the larger of the two recreation rooms. "We're going to be on the bus for about half an hour, and then we'll get to the venue." Lance read off of a piece of paper. "We're up first for rehearsals, and the Backstreet Boys are going to be rehearsing starting around four...yeah, four." "What are we doing until four?" A.J. asked. "You're having meeting and then some interviews." Lance said. A.J. nodded. " They rehearse until the meet and greet at six, and then the show starts at seven, or seven thirty at the latest. Be in make-up by six forty five, and wardrobe by six thirty." Lance explained the rest of the schedule, and the hotel arrangements. The bus arrived at the venue and the 'N Sync guys got of to get ready for their ready for their rehearsal. Kevin and Chris stayed in the bus, since they weren't really doing anything until later. Chris had been working on the wardrobe for the video shoot, and Kevin was working on some kind of paperwork. "How does this look?" Chris asked Kevin, showing him a catalogue. "On who?" Kevin asked. "You or A.J." Chris replied. "You like 'em?" "They're alright. A.J. will really like them. They scream 'A.J.'" Kevin said. "When do you gotta be at rehearsal?" Chris asked Kevin. "Four." Kevin said, his attention still on the papers, and Chris for that matter. "Hate to tell you this, but it's already ten after four." Chris said. Kevin's eyes grew wide, and he looked over at the clock on the wall of the bus. "Damn it. Fatima's going to kill me." He said as he stripped off his tee shirt, leaving his wife-beater on. Grabbing his workout bag, he pulled Chris out of the bus with him. "Why do I have to go?" Chris said, still being pulled along by Kevin. "Come and watch me dance." Kevin smiled, his eyes sparkling. "I have to work to do." "You can do it later. I'll even help." "Fine. I'll sit there and watch sweaty guys hop around." "Yeah, but I'll be one of 'em." Kevin gloated. "Oh baby." Chris said sarcastically. "Where are those binders?" "Too many not funny movies for my boy Chris." The duo stopped abruptly before actually stepping onto the stage. "About time Kevin." Brian glared at him, still not stopping his dancing. Kevin dropped his things and got into formation, then he started dancing with the other guys, missing some of the moves that they just changed. "How much did you change in twenty minutes?" Kevin said. "You come late, you leave late Kev." Fatima yelled. "Don't think that I don't remember that little food fight. You're going to get it for leaving me with the mess." She grumbled. "Thanks a lot for telling me about the changes guys." Kevin said sarcastically. A few minutes and a lot of mistakes later, Kevin sat down next to Chris, sipping his water. "You didn't look so hot out there, Kev." Chris said. "Give me a half an hour and I'll get it." Kevin smiled. A half an hour later, the guys, including Kevin, were still dancing, but Kevin didn't look that much better, he was forgetting some of the changes, and stumbling over his steps. "Cut the music!" Fatima yelled. Instantly, the recorded instrumentals for the song shut off, and the guys took a few seconds off while Fatima reworked some of the moves. "This is your fault isn't it?" Brian said, pointing at Chris. "Damn it Kevin, you're letting things get in the way." "It wasn't his fault." Kevin snapped back. By now, Nick and Howie took the opportunity to excuse themselves. "Don't you ever accuse Chris of getting in the way of the Backstreet Boys, me, or anything else." "Brian..." Chris tried to say something. "Shut Up!" Brian yelled. "You two are going way out of line. First you're late to one dance rehearsal, it's going to build up, so what's next? Are you to going to fuck later and make us late for a concert? Then what's after that? A plane flight? Where's it gonna end?" "What's gotten into you, Brian?" Kevin asked, surprised. "Excuse me?" Chris asked him. "I think that you can give me just a little more credit for this. Was it yesterday that you were thanking me for getting the old Kevin back, and now you turn around full circle and accuse me of things that are never going to happen. Brian, get real. You need someone to blame, and I'm not sticking around to be the object of your mood swings." Chris quickly stormed off of the stage, A.J. quickly followed him as Kevin and Brian continued their tongue-lashing. "Chris!" A.J. yelled. "Where the hell are you?!" He ran around the backstage area looking for Chris, but he couldn't find him. "A.J.! Where's Chris?" Kevin yelled, catching up with A.J. "I don't know, can't find him." A.J. said. "Keep looking. We gotta find him." Kevin said frantically as he looked into the nearby rooms. "Christina, is Chris in here?" Kevin asked as he poked his head into her rehearsal room. "What's the problem?" Christina asked, walking away from her dancers. "Brian and him were arguing, and then me and Brian were fighting, and then he just took off." Kevin tried to explain. "I don't know where he would be. I'm sorry." Christina said. Kevin thanked her, and continued looking for Chris, running from room to room, asking everyone he saw, but nobody saw him. "Kev, we gotta get back to rehearsals, he's gone." A.J. said, giving up. "You can't say that, where could he go? He doesn't have a car, he couldn't have gotten far." Kevin tried to convince A.J. to keep looking. "He's a smart guy, Kev, he'd call a cab." A.J. sighed as he wiped the sweat from his forehead. "Don't do anything crazy, the show starts in an hour." "I have to find him." Kevin said weakly, falling to his knees and leaning against the wall of the hallway. "I have to find him..." "Come on Kev, let's get back. He'll be back, I know it." A.J. said confidently. Kevin slowly got up and went back to the others, alone, and confused. Chapter 28 'Damn.' Kevin thought to himself as he missed another dance step. It was almost the end of the show and he had messed up a few times already, not just dancing but some of his harmony vocals were off too. He kicked himself mentally for Brian's actions and Chris' disappearance. The crowd cheered at the song nonetheless, and Kevin shook himself to get ready for the next song, which was the grand finale of the show tonight. Everyone got on stage, 'N Sync, Christina Aguilera, and the Backstreet Boys. "We'd like to say thank you for coming on out tonight." Christina said, the audience cheered louder, not wanting the night to end. "Well, we're going to be doing one last song, and we'd like every one of you to help us get it started, alright?" Justin asked. The crowd shouted in agreement as Christina's 'Genie in a Bottle' music came through the speakers. The guys stood behind her, acting as stand-in backup dancers as she danced and sang in the front of the formation. In the middle of the song, the music stopped abruptly, and the chorus of 'I Want You Back' came from the guys of 'N Sync. Christina did a backflip into the dance formation as 'N Sync came out in front for their portion of the finale. Suddenly, Christina ran back out to the front and the music switched back to 'Genie.' The guys gave her mock confused looks and the crowd screamed as the performance alternated between Christina and 'N Sync. The Backstreet Boys were not to be outdone though, so as the two songs alternated they split to the sides of the stage and ran out in front of the dueling melodies. The crowd's excitement became evident as 'I Want It That Way' replaced all the sounds on stage. Christina and the other guys just walked behind the Boys and everyone returned to a dance formation. The song ended, with everyone singing the chorus from each song together, cooperatively, and the lights went out as everyone joined hands and bowed. Backstage, Kevin was grabbing everything he needed and sped out of the changing room, rushing in front of the others back onto the bus. He ran back to the bunks to check for Chris, but he wasn't there, no note or any clue to his whereabouts. His cell phone was still on the bus too. He held it and stuck it into his bag. Kevin checked for Chris' things, and his stuff was still there, except for his backpack and his Mickey. Kevin shook his head, knowing that Chris took everything that he'd really needed in his backpack. A.J. was right, he was a smart guy, and he could take care of himself. Too impatient for the guys, he wrote a note and grabbed his stuff, leaving the note on the table. Kevin ran out of the bus and grabbed his cell phone. He called a cab company, and then put the phone back in his pocket. A cab arrived after a few minutes and a few autographs. In the cab, he told the cabby to take him to his hotel, and he again, grabbed his cell phone. "Hello? This is Kevin Richardson, and I wanted to check if I had any messages left for me." He said to the hotel receptionist. "I'm sorry, Mr. Richardson, but no messages have been received." "Thank you." Kevin said. His heart sank, and he sighed, "I'll be there in a little bit." Upon his arrival to the hotel, he got his bags and sluggishly went about checking in and walking up to his hotel room. As he slipped his key card into the door, he reflected on the day, he'd lost his love, he'd messed up big time on stage, and he'd have to answer to all the guys tomorrow. His life was beginning to look like a whole lot of hell for the next few days. He stepped inside, and instantly, every thought flew out of his head. He dropped his and Chris' bags, and ran to the bed. There was Chris, asleep with catalogues and photos sprawled across the bed with him. Kevin brought Chris into his arms, and held him tight. "Baby, I was so scared when you left." Kevin said, tears of joy falling from his face. Chris held onto Kevin, still waking up, and surprised at the sudden awakening that he'd received. "What are you talking about, Kev..." he groaned. "Never mind. It doesn't matter now." Kevin said as he brought Chris into a kiss. Kevin kicked all the stuff off of the bed and lay down next to Chris. "I thought you ran away." "I wouldn't do that to you." Chris said, his bearings finally retrieved. "I know that now, and I won't let Brian do that to you, or anyone else again." Kevin said sternly. "You can't blame this all on him, well not most of it." "Why is that? He seems to be the root of it all." "Holly broke up with him over the phone earlier." Kevin nodded, "I love you, don't ever scare me like that again." Chris had fallen asleep again, and Kevin smiled, he slipped off his pants and pulled the covers over Chris and his body. He held Chris close as he too, fell asleep. To be continued. Well I know that some of you have been waiting for this, and I apologize for that, this is sort of long, and I think that makes up for it, that's what everyone else says. Thanks for the mail that I've received (Zach, I love the story) send comments and stuff to piscesh2007@hotmail.com, not bsb-story@usa.net. That one is really inconvenient to use. I hope to get the next one out, and I'm sorry if I'm disappointing people that like cliffhangers, because I don't like them and I don't think that I should impose them on you. Always, Chris.
