I do not know the sexual preferences of anyone in the band, and this story in NO way implies that I do. This story is entirely fiction, though all fiction has to be based on some sort of reality (otherwise we wouldn't be able to comprehend it!), the elements concerning N'SYNC or any other celebrity that may be mentioned are 100% fictitious. Later installments of this story may contain sexually explicit content! If you are offended by M/M representations of these actions then read no further. If you are under the age of 18, or if it is illegal for you to read this type of material in your area, then please, read no further! *************** HEY AGAIN EVERYBODY! I'm sorry y'all...I actually took LONGER To get this part out. I'm sorry, I really did have every intention of only taking a couple of days--but you'll forgive me, right? I mean, there were "extenuating circumstances" and stuff. I worked a little harder on this part because it wasn't written under stressful conditions...I hope it shows. Thanks to EVERYONE that e-mailed me with suggestions, criticisms, and words of encouragement. I didn't get a lot of response--which I expected because of the below average part 2 that I submitted--but I would still like to hear from my readers. Right now, I'm under the impression that not many people read my story...so for those of you who e-mailed me to let me know that you do THANK YOU again! You are the reason that I continue to write. Now, Special thanks to Evan (Justin's Dark Angel--read it!) he's a kick ass author, and an even better friend! Also, thanks to Gemmi (check out her story Lance's Song! It's Grrrreeeaatt!) You're the best Gemmi! Umm...I'm not changing the aforementioned part of this paragraph because I do think that everyone should read Lance's Song. However, I learned a few days ago that Gemmi has made the decision to discontinue the story for a long time. =( I've tried convincing her otherwise, but she has her mind made up. So, as I said before, read what there is of the story--it's amazing, but I don't think there will be any additions for quite a while. =/ Now, thanks to everyone else! You are all great! Dave, Rob--you guys are SO cool! Kenny, Eric (check out his story Lance's Thoughts!) thanks for the continued support! =) I love to get e-mail, so if you would like to be on the receiving end of one of my thank-you's, I suggest that you do just that....E-MAIL ME!!!!! Comments, SUGGESTIONS, concerns, flames, candy, CD's (wouldn't it be cool if you could e-mail CD's?!?!) ANYTHING, just e-mail me at niftyfrank@email.com Now, LET THE STORY BEGIN!! ********** Part 3: Rude Awakening ********** (Just a recap..) "Brent awoke from his nap at the sound of a low pitched horn. He rubbed the sleep out of his eyes, and looked around. He was in his car. 'Damn it!" he cursed as he finally realized that he had fallen asleep at the wheel. Then, once again, his attention was drawn to the loud sound of a horn. He looked up, and his eyes flared in horror! By this point, Evan had awoken, and was too looking through the windshield. The pair, frightened beyond comprehension roared "OH MY GOD!!!!!" ..................... Brent's head shot up with a start. His forehead damp, and riddled with cold sweat. "Shit!" he squeaked out. His eyes darted around frantically, searching for some non-existent focal point. They came to rest on his friend in the passenger's seat. Evan was looking back at him wide-eyed--his face the picture of concern. "Are you ok?" Evan asked him tentatively, his voice eliciting his worry for Brent. "Whaa'...?" Brent mumbled, while still trying to get a bearing on reality. "Umm, yeah...I'm fine. I guess I fell asleep for a minute." "You were screaming in your sleep, you must have had some sort of nightmare." Evan continued on in his worried manner. "Yeah, I guess so." Brent muttered a little too quickly. At that Evan huffed and sat back in his seat. Brent noticed this and whispered out "Sorry," before he got back into the right lane and drove off. The rest of the ride was quiet. Evan sat peacefully, and smiling off into some dream world. Brent concentrated on driving, his face was blank and solid. He was extremely upset for endangering the lives of he and his friend. "How could I be so stupid?" he chastised himself. "I'll never drive when I'm that tired again!" he concluded. He then returned his full attention to the road. Brent's truck slowed as it pulled up in front of Evan's house. Brent didn't really want to wake him up, but he knew that Evan needed to go inside. He climbed out of the car, and walked around to the passenger's side. Once there, he opened Evan's door, and unbuckled his friend's seatbelt. He was about to lift Evan up and out of the car, when his friend's head shot up with a huge grin plastered on his face. "Awww...you were gona carry me inside. I didn't know you cared Brent!" He said, while breaking into hysterics. "Oh, screw you jerk!" Brent said while laughing himself. Evan hopped out of the car and gave his friend a quick hug. "Thank you for inviting me to the concert Brent, and as always, thanks for the ride!" He said sincerely. "No problem bud. You say it like I would have taken anyone else!" Brent joked with his friend. "Yeah well," Evan began but was interrupted by a yawn, "Thanks again, and goodnight!' At this, he started walking up his drive to his front porch. Then, he stopped suddenly and turned around. "Ya' know, Justin is even hotter in person!" he said almost a little too loudly. "Oh, and I'm sure he didn't notice you gawking at him with your jaw on the floor!" It was extremely dark out, but Brent could see Evan turn an almost florescent red color. He laughed and then watched his friend go inside. He went around and climbed back into his car and headed home. Brent had to struggle to simply make it to his room. Once inside, he didn't have the energy to do much of anything, so he took off his shirt and flopped down on his bed. With his (almost) six-foot frame sprawled out rather awkwardly on the bed, he managed to kick off his shoes before his eyelids betrayed him for the second time that night. He wasn't asleep--not yet anyway--but he wasn't far from it either. He was at the point where you start to dream, yet you are still conscious of the world around you. A montage of images began to race through his mind. His lips curled into a lazy smile when he began to recall how he had been acting this week--consumed by anticipation. He imagined how silly he must have looked walking around school with his usual serious look replaced by a big goofy grin. His mind continued to race as the images began to get closer to the present. Finally, he saw he and Evan trying to get a good parking space, dancing and singing at the concert, and--finally--backstage with the guys. "I met NSYNC," he thought, "I can't believe it." His smile only broadened--which I hadn't thought possible until it happened. As expected (or at least I expected it...) Brent's course of thought ventured to the band member that stuck out most in his mind--Lance. Of all the events of the night, he remembered Lance's shy, yet assertive attempt to apologize. He didn't say much, just a simple, "Yeah, don't be like that." Brent, however, seemed to be fixated on the celebrity. He imaged the blonde in all his splendor. His perfect skin, angelic face, hair--spiked to perfection and (of course) his hypnotic green eyes...Brent was consumed by thoughts of Lance. Although Brent was not admiringly an NSYNC fan, well at least not until recently, he was no fool. He had always found himself attracted to Mr. Bass, and that night had been of unimaginable significance to him. He had met the man of his dreams. "how many people can say that?" he wondered aloud. Brent found himself suddenly aroused. The thought of the singer had driven him to feel in a way that he didn't often feel. His resentment of his own sexuality often hindered his senses when it came to other men--but Lance was somehow an exception. He was a crush. His thoughts turned slightly erotic as he lay in his state of semi-slumber. He imagined Lance in the room with him, standing over the bed. Lance then leaned over, and kissed Brent gently on the forehead. "Goodnight..." he heard Lance whisper. One could almost swear it was real--yet, it was as faint as a light breeze (and just as scintillating). With that dreamed word, Brent drifted completely off to sleep--thinking, "I'll be with him tomorrow, yeah...tomorrow." ------------------------- Joshua Chasez woke up at the sound of the hotel phone ringing. Barely able to see through his still heavy eyelids, he reached toward the flashing red light. He groped around on the nightstand until he felt the receiver, and picked it up. "Hello?" He said into the phone in a raspy voice, but the person on the other end was already speaking. "This is your requested wake-up call," the automated dialer began in a monotone voice, "the time is now 9:45 A.M." JC smirked as he heard the machine exaggerate each syllable. He hung up the phone, and his body reflexively stretched in all kinds of odd ways. His arms flailing as he enjoyed the relief. He got out of bed, and hobbled to the bathroom. He played with the knobs on the shower, until he got the temperature just right--then he began to get undressed. After he had slid out of his wife beater, and boxers, he stepped into the shower. He let out a gasp as the hot spray made contact with his skin, but then relaxed as he grew accustomed to the heat. He liked his showers hot, it helped to wake him up in the mornings. He gave his face and good scrubbing, until he had gotten all of the sleep out of his eyes. It was then that JC's mind drifted back to the night before. His face twisted as he recalled the group's fight. You see, it was yesterday before the concert that JC told his friends, the guys of Nsync, the truth....the whole truth. He was gay. His lip quivered a little as the thoughts rushed back to him. At first the room was silent, then one by one all of his "friends"--his band mates left for the stage....leaving him feeling alone and rejected. "They hate me." He recalled thinking. A tear slid down JC's face as the thought replayed itself in his head over and over. He then remembered the argument after the show... "I can't BELIEVE that we've been that I've been friends with a fag all this time!" Chris wailed, causing JC to cringe as tears formed in his eyes. The other guys were silent, all engrossed in their own trains of though. "Chris!" Joey shouted, hardly believing that Chris had just said that. "What?! That's what he is, isn't he? I mean, isn't that what you told us before the show, fag?" At that comment, JC sobbed a little more, and Lance gave Chris a look of disapproval that made him grimace. The Room fell under a sudden silence. The silence was soon broken, however, when Justin said, "How can you be so cruel to one of your best friends?! JC's always been there for you. This doesn't make him any less of a person!" He got up and walked over to JC, and put his arm around his long-time best friend. "Josh, we've been friends forever, and I'm not gonna let anything change that--no matter what other people think." As he said this, he shot Chris and evil look, then turned back to JC. "I love you just the same....as a brother that is." Justin finished with a smirk. ...... JC was pulled back to reality by the sudden decrease in temperature of the shower water. He ran the rag over his face one last time to clear away any traces of tears, and hopped out of the shower. As he was drying himself off, he recalled something that he was supposed to do. "What was it?" he inquired to no one at all. He shrugged and then continued toweling off. He rifled through the hotel wardrobe where he had hung his clothes the night before, and pulled out a pair of Structure cargo pants, and a blue and white button down Structure shirt. (you know, the kind that have the sleeves that you just HAVE to roll up...?) As he was heading to the bathroom to do his hair, it was then that he realized what he was supposed to do. "Brent!" He spoke aloud with just a little too much excitement in his voice. JC dashed over to the nightstand to check the time. "Whew!" He exclaimed, "It's only 10:30, we're not supposed to send for him for another two hours." Thinking that he would forget later, JC thought it wise to inform the driver of the arrangements now. He called checked the room list that was given to them, and dialed the driver's room number. "Hello?" A cheerful voice inquired. "Good morning Randall! It's JC. Sorry to disturb you so early, but I have something to ask you." JC said, matching Randall's happy tone. "Sure thing boss, what can I do for you?" "We promised a couple of friends of ours that we'd send a car to come pick them up at about 12:30. Is there anyway that you could help me out?" JC asked very politely, making it seem as more of a request than an order. He didn't like the concept of bossing people around. "No problem. Just give me the addresses, and I'll be sure that they're taken care of." JC then proceeded to give Randall the addresses that Brent had given him last night. "Thank you so much Randall! I'll see you later." JC said, but as he was about to hang up the phone, Randall started to talk. "Umm...boss, you didn't tell me where you want me to take them." Randall chuckled a little. "Oh, my bad, sorry about that. Bring them back to the hotel. We know nothing about this town, and I'm sure they'd have a better idea of where to go than we would." JC said after realizing where he was. "Oki dokie boss, will do!" "Thanks again, bye!" JC hung up the phone, and flopped down on the bed. No sooner did he have the phone on the hook, did the phone ring. JC reached over, and lifted the receiver to his ear. "Hello?" "Morning JC!" Justin chimed cheerfully. "Good morning curly! What is it?" "Oh, we're having brunch in Joey's room now, he told me to call you and tell you." "Brunch?" JC asked. "Yeah," Justin said with a chuckle, "you know, not quite breakfast, not quite lunch..." "Ok, whatever. I'll be there, I'm already up and ready." JC said, smiling--even though Justin couldn't see it. "Ok, see you there, bye!" At Justin's words, JC hung up the phone, and gathered his cell phone, key card, and wallet, and headed out of his room. In the hall, he saw Justin knocking on Joey's door, and he walked over to his friend. Joey came to the door, and they both went inside. Lance and Chris were already inside, obviously enjoying their full plates. Justin and JC made their way to the cart, and each got good-sized helpings of food.. Once they had their food, they took seats at the round table near the wall-sized window in Joey's room. As they passed Lance and Chris, JC offered a 'good morning' but only received a response from Lance. Chris looked up, and noticed Joey glaring at him from across the room. "Well, what do we have planned for the day?" Justin asked everyone. "We promised those guys Brent and Evan that we'd spend the day with them." JC said while taking a bite out of an apple. "Correction," Chris snapped, "YOU promised that we'd spend the day with them, and I have to say--I don't really want to spend the day with two complete strangers." "Then don't go." Lance replied simply. Chris looked up at him for a second, and then went back to him plate. "So is everyone else in?" JC asked tentatively, to which he received various forms of 'yes' from all the guys--excluding Chris. "Fine!" Chris said firmly, feeling a little betrayed that no one was going to stay with him. "I'll just find something to do on my own." JC let out a little sigh of relief now that Chris wasn't the mix. It wasn't that he was angry with Chris for the way he was acting--he had somewhat expected it--but he was happy that the pressure would seemingly be off of him for a while. "This could turn out to be a really good day." He thought. To Be Continued....??? ************************* Ok everybody, what did you think?
