Lost Without You

Chapter -- 17
by JT Poole and Nikki Brown

Orlando, FL -- Jive Entertainment -- JT's Office

JT's POV

After the failed attempt of trying to get things done for the meeting, I gave up and went into the other room to get Chad. To my surprise, he wasn't there. The first thing that went through my mind was that he heard all of us arguing in that room and he ran off or something. Oh God, I was failing at being a father miserably. Where is my son? Running out of the room and going down to security, I ask the guy there had he seen my son and he shook his head no. Checking the surveillance cameras, he checked all the floors and elevators and didn't see him. Flipping out a little bit, I left the security desk and headed towards the elevator. Deciding to take the stairs instead, I opened the door and ran up the 2 flights as quickly as I could. Getting to my office, I opened the door and there he was sitting behind my desk with the Gameboy still in his hand, lost in the game he was playing.

"Oh my God, you're here," I say as he looks up from the game and looks at me strangely.

"Is there something wrong daddy?" He asks me as I ran over to him, picking him up and hugging him to my chest.

"I thought...I thought, oh who cares what I thought. You're okay now and I have you," I say as I kiss him on his forehead and put him back down in the chair as I got back into father mode. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming back here?"

"Well I...I didn't want to interrupt your meeting," he tells me as he looks down quickly.

"Oh it's alright son," I say, walking around the desk to the phone to call security. "This is Mr. Poole, I've found my son. Yes you can call off the search. He's here in my office."

"You thought I was missing daddy?" He asks me as I nod at him.

"When I walked into that room and you weren't there, let's just say a whole lot of things popped into my head," I tell him as he gets up out of the chair, walks over to me and hugs me.

"I'm sorry daddy. I didn't mean to scare you like that," he tells me as I kiss him on his forehead again.

"It's quite alright son. Are you hungry?" I ask him.

"Yeah I am," he tells me as someone knocks on the door.

"I'll see who that is, handle whatever it is and then we can go find food," I tell him, opening the door to see Brian standing there.

"Hey baby," he says, leaning into me and placing a kiss on my lips.

"Hi," I say, smiling as he pulled away from me. "What are you doing up here? Don't you have some Backstreet business to handle today?"

"The meeting was all that was going on Backstreet today," he tells me as I step back and let him into the office. "What are you two up to?"

"Well we're getting ready to go find food," I tell him as he smiles at me.

"Sounds like a good idea baby, I'm starved," he tells me as he starts rubbing his stomach. "Chad where would you like to go?"

"It doesn't really matter," Chad says, looking up at me and smiling as he stands up and holds my hand. "Can we go now, I'm hungry too."

"Come on my men, let's go find food," I say as I open the door and Nikki is standing there, ready to knock on the door. "Well hello there missy. We're going to find food. Want to come along with us?"

"Well that's what I came up here for. Nick invited me to lunch and well I thought it would be nice if we could all go. Since Kevin invited Kess out, Nick invited me and I kind of thought it could be a group thing. Since we're all going to be on this tour together, we could try to start over and try to be civil and maybe become friends," Nikki says, twiddling her fingers as she looked down at the floor as Nick, Kevin and Kess were standing in the hallway behind her.

"Is everyone ready to go?" Kevin Richardson asks, standing tall behind Nikki and Kess. "What's the hold up, I'm starving."

Looking back at Kevin, I turn my attention to Chad and Brian who were both standing up in front of my desk, waiting on me to say something. Not really wanting to say yes, I relented and we all left. Since I'll be spending about a week on a tour bus with these guys, I might as well start getting to know them better. Hell I know Brian, that's enough for me and I don't want to know Nick, but they way Kess is smiling, I'm sure she wants to get to know Kevin, a lot more than she should. Hell she'll probably be fucking him before the end of the day, knowing her.

With all of us piling into the elevator, I was starting to feel a little bit cramped up. Looking around at Nick and Nikki and then turning to see Kess and Kevin looking at each other like they were a little bit hungry for something else, I just hoped that lunch would go smoothly and I wouldn't end up popping a cap in someone's ass, mainly Nick's.

Getting down to the parking garage, Nikki decided to ride with Nick, Chad and Brian was going with me and Kevin got into Kess' car. Knowing how she drives, I just hope he survives her race car tactics on the highway. I hope God will keep a watchful eye out for everyone on the road while she's driving. When it comes to Kess and cars, she's a serial killer and we're all possible victims.

In Nick's SUV

Nikki's POV

"I can't believe that I nailed it like that!" I shrieked, grabbing Nick and kissing him, choosing to ignore that he doesn't seem all that enthusiastic about kissing me back. "I mean, I actually sounded good in there! Can you believe it?!"

"No," Nick snapped, unlocking the door to his truck for me but not opening it like he usually did. Some of my good mood began to dissipate, leaving me feeling hurt that my boyfriend didn't seem to care one way or another about the good job I'd done—let alone congratulate me.

"Nick, is something bothering you?" I asked after the silence had gone on for most of the ride. He looked at me out of the corner of his eye, ignoring the question. Ok, now I'm getting pissed. "Nick? I asked you a question. What's your problem?"

"What makes you think I have a problem?" he asked nastily, pulling over to the side of the road and facing me. "I mean, why should I be pissed that JC knew that you could sing but I didn't? Why should I be upset that he... oh, just forget it!"

"Forget it my ass Nickolas—what's wrong?" I asked, pissed off for real now, but then something else dawned on me. I reached out to caress his cheek, leaning over to kiss him. "You're jealous of my friendship with Josh, aren't you?"

"No... Yes... I don't know," he replied, sighing and turning to face me. "I don't care about JC knowing you could sing. I mean, we've only known each other a few days and our relationship hasn't exactly been about getting to know each other yet."

"Then tell me what's bothering you Nicky," I said with an impish grin. He smirked, nuzzling the side of my face. "Come on you big baby... tell me what's really bothering you."

"I just hated to see him with his hands all over you after the meeting," he finally explained, blushing furiously when I gasped. "I... I just didn't want him to take you from me."

"Is that why you left the conference room so fast?" I asked in amazement, smiling when he nodded. "Nick, you can't get angry about JC touching me. He and I have been friends for years, and besides, I'm a married woman Nicky. Eventually my husband is going to come looking for me. But for now, I'm here with you and I'm not planning on going anywhere, so next time, just tell him to take his hands off me. Okay?"

"Okay," he replied, kissing me softly before starting the car again. "By the way, you're the only person I know that I don't mind calling me Nicky."

"Is that so Nicky?" I asked with a grin, laughing aloud when he grabbed my hand and bit it softly. "Well, you called me Nikki the first time we met, so I just thought I'd return the favor Golden Boy... do you mind?"

"Not when you say it," Nick replied, leaning over to kiss me again before pulled out into traffic so we could meet JT and the others at Planet Hollywood© for lunch.

I rested my hand on his thigh, relaxing for the rest of the ride to Planet Hollywood©. I figured that now was not the time to get into my real past with JC, especially if Nick was going to act like this when all JC did was hold me off from beating the shit out of Lance. Once we arrived at the restaurant, we spotted Kess and Kevin and went inside in search of JT, Chad and Brian so we could eat.

At Planet Hollywood

JT's POV

Pulling into Planet Hollywood, I find a parking space and get out with Chad attached at the hip. Pressing the button on my key to arm the alarm, Brian walks around to me as we waited for the others to join us.

"How are you feeling about this baby?" Brian asks me, standing next to me and grabbing my hand, placing a kiss to the top of my hand.

"Very pissed, but since I'm going to be on tour with you guys for the first three shows, I'll try my best to get to know you guys and not murder Nick," I tell him as Chad's eyes went wide.

"Daddy you're going on tour with the Backstreet Boys?" He asks me.

"Yes I am," I tell him as his smile got bigger than Kess' when she was standing in the hallway with Kevin back at Jive. I thought the girl was going to blind us all with that twenty-five hundred watt (2500) smile. The girl acts like she hasn't seen or been with a celebrity before. For a girl that's slept with Nate, Marky Mark, Drew Lachey, Jeff Timmons and that guy formerly known as Vanilla Ice, the girl gets around. She shouldn't be star struck anymore. "You're going too."

"Really daddy?" He asks me.

"Yes you're going too. I can't go and not take you with me little man," I tell him as the boy fake fainted.

"Are you okay?" Brian asks him, laughing at him.

"He'll be fine," I say, laughing too. "My youngin, the drama queen."

"Just like his daddy," Brian says as I turn to look at him, raising an eye. "I'm only kidding."

"Good answer," I tell him as he lets out the breath he was holding. "You don't want to make my pissed off demeanor more than what it already is."

"Are you really pissed off that much baby?" Brian asks me, pulling me a bit away from Chad. "I know Nick caused some problems baby, but he's genuinely sorry."

"Nick isn't sorry. If he really cared about you and your feelings he wouldn't have done the things he did. Basically I don't want to be around a person that gets a kick out of interfering in the lives of their friends the way he did. I can understand him wanting to keep you from getting hurt and all, but you're a grown man Brian."

"I know I'm grown, but Nick thinks he's looking out for me. I just think he's still trying to turn me back straight or something. I think he wishes things can go back to the way they were between the two of us," he tells me as I keep my attention on him and what Chad was doing.

"How were things between the two of you Brian for him to act the way he has? What makes a person cause drama in your relationships?" I ask him.

"When I was straight and shit, we use to roll around and fuck the hos at night. Not saying I did that, but he always thought I did," he tells me as I'm sure my eyes went wide.

"What do you mean roll around and fuck the hos at night?" I ask him.

"Just that baby. When we would have a show, we use to go out and pick up girls, or he did and well he would somehow coax me into fooling around with him and the girl," Brian tells me as I turned around and walked away from him. "JT...JT where are you going."

"I think I've heard enough Brian," I tell him as he grabs my hand.

"No baby...don't pull away from me now. I was just telling you how things were back then," he tells me. "When we first got together as a group, the two of us became friends quickly. We did everything together and I mean everything. He was the youngest one in the group, but he was the first one of us to start using our fame as a means to land women in bed. And he did what he could to fuck as many girls as he could."

"So basically you're saying both you and Nick are low down dirty hos?" I ask him as he looks down at the ground.

"I didn't actually enjoy the things I did with or around him, but I had to keep up appearances baby. Hell most of the time I would just sit out on the balcony or make him think I was in the other room with someone while he fooled around," he tells me, still looking down at the ground. "I'm not happy with the things I allowed to happen when I was being influenced by him, but I'm not going to dwell on it. That was the past, this is now. He's still not happy and trying to regain some sense of that time."

"I really don't know what to say right now," I tell him, not really wanting him to go into more detail about his past.

"That was the past baby, this is now," he tells me, wrapping his arms around me, kissing me passionately as some camera flashes went off.

"What the hell?" I say aloud, turning around to see someone snapping pictures at us.

Pulling away from Brian and walking towards the person that was still snapping pictures, I reached out and snatched the camera from the guy, opening the back and taking the film out, exposing it to the light and handing the man his camera back as he just looked at me shocked that I did that. Walking back to Brian the man finally started speaking.

"I'm calling the cops, you stupid mutherfucker!" The guy shouts as I just give him the finger and kept walking as Brian's jaw dropped as I walked over to Chad and held his hand.

"I'm ready to eat. I don't know what's taking the others so long," I say as the others walked around the corner.

"I saw what you just did JT. You're going to get into trouble for that," Kess says, smiling like she was ready to start laughing any second. "I can see the headlines now. Crazed black man destroys paparazzi film."

"He's lucky I don't have a bat or a gun," I tell her as she starts laughing this time as Nikki walks over to us.

"Is everyone ready to chow down?" Kevin asks, stepping up behind Kess. "I'm ready to get my grub on."

"I bet you are," I say, looking at Kess and then back at Brian. "Let's get in here and find food before someone dies of hunger."

"Yada yada yada," Kess says, opening the door and walking into the restaurant.

Inside Planet Hollywood

"So what will you have sir?" The waitress asks, looking at JT.

"I'll have the Chicken Caesar salad with the light dressing and a sweet tea please," JT says, looking down at Chad. "Son what do you want?"

"I just want a cheeseburger and fries," Chad says, looking up at the woman. "Oh yeah may I also get a Hawaiian Punch please?"

"Sure you can sweetie," the waitress says, moving around the table to take Brian's order.

"I'll have the same thing he's having," Brian says, pointing at Kevin as the young woman wrote it down on her notepad.

"Alright everyone, your orders will be up shortly," the young woman says, smiling and walking off.

"So what's on the schedule for the rest of the day?" Nikki asks, looking over to JT.

"After lunch I'm going back to the office to catch up on some things and make preparations for Wednesday," JT says, pulling his palm pilot out of his blazer pocket.

"So you and Chad gon be held up in your office that long?" Nikki asks, smiling at Chad.

"Right now yes we are," JT tells her as she frowns a bit and his cell phone starts ringing. "Excuse me, hello?"

JT's POV

"Good afternoon Mr. Poole, Howard Marshall here. How are you today?" Mr. Marshall asks on the other end of the conversation.

"I'm doing fine sir, how about yourself?" I ask him, wondering what it was he was calling for.

"I'm doing fine as well. Not to pull you away from what you're doing, I just called to let you know that Chad's medical and insurance records along with his school transcripts arrived today. I've made arrangements for those records to be delivered by courier over to you today at your office."

"Oh good, I had forgotten about those. I also had a matter that needed to be handle," I tell him, walking a bit aways from the table. "Chad and I had a long conversation the other night and he basically told me that the social services worker Mr. Taggert told him some very harsh and mean things. I don't really know what was said since I wasn't there, but it was enough to have Chad scared that I would send him away or get rid of him. I think someone needs to relay this information his superiors and have him dealt with as soon as possible. If he's said things in that matter to my child, I'm sure he's said it to others."

"Oh my, that's just terrible. I had no idea that had happened," Howard says as I look around to see that our meals were being delivered. "I will look into that and go through the proper channels to see what is going on. If you like, I can contact you with what can be done about Mr. Taggert."

"Alright Mr. Marshall thank you, and I'll keep my eyes open for the records. I hope you have a wonderful day," I tell him walking towards the table.

"You do the same Mr. Poole," he tells me as I smile and hang up the phone, walking over to the table and sitting down.

"About time you got back over here," Nikki says, smiling as she reached over the table, grabbing for one of my salad crackers.

"Hey that's mine," I say, almost whiny like.

"Oh hush up you ole fool. It's only a salad cracker. You act like you can't get more," Nikki says, smiling at me as Chad starts giggling. "Even the little man agrees with me."

"Oh ha ha ha," I say, sticking my tongue out at her as I opened my dressing and squirted it on the salad. "So what did I miss?"

"Nothing," Brian says, picking up his knife and cutting his steak. "So was that a business call baby?"

"No, it was personal," I tell him, forking some of my salad and placing it into my mouth. "Why do you want to know?"

"I was just asking," he says, looking down quickly as he started playing with the napkin in his lap.

"Uh huh, sure you were. Mind your bizness man," I tell him as his happy expression changed to a sad one. "So Nikki, do you think you can be ready to sing with the girls on Wednesday?"

"I don't see why not," she says as she smiled at me and then at Nick who just looked away from her and got up from the table.

Looking in the direction he was looking in, I saw Josh, Chris and Joey walking in and standing at the hostess stop to be seated. Looking over to Nikki and in the direction that Nick had went, she shrugged her shoulders and kept on eating. Please tell me there's not going to be drama with her crazy ass man. I'll beat his ass if there is. I don't need any more drama today; it's the start of the fucking week for God's sake. I'm not going to worry about it. I'll finish my lunch and worry about myself and Chad.

"How is your burger lil man?" I ask him as he sticks a french fry into his mouth, looking like a chipmunk with a mouth full of nuts.

Before Chad could answer me, I turned my attention to the front of the place and there Nick was up there talking to JC very heatedly. Looking down and shaking my head, Kevin and Brian caught my expression and turned and looked in the direction to see Nick flailing his arms in the air like a bumbling idiot.

Up at the Guest Check In

JC's POV

Why did we have to fucking pick to come here again? When we were a group, I got tired of coming here. Now that we're not together anymore, I shouldn't be tortured with coming here. Hell, it's not like we're here doing a photo shoot or signing autographs. I don't even know why I let Justin and Lance talk me into coming to lunch. I should have just gone back home and resumed my sleeping. That would've been more beneficial to me. I'll just eat quickly to get this over with and go back ho...damn, she's here.

Oh God she's here. I get another chance...another chance to talk to her and maybe...maybe we could go somewhere and talk. I want to take the time to congratulate her about her singing. That was one of her dreams when she was younger. Now she has the chance to make it happen. I'll just go over there and say hi and ask her what she's doing later. Maybe we could get together and talk about old good times.

Before I could make a move in the direction she was in, Nick Carter walked up to me and started talking a mile a minute. What the hell is wrong with this guy? I can't understand a damn thing he's trying to say here. All I could make out was him, Nikki and hands. Does this have anything to do with Nikki? My Nikki wouldn't be involved with him! She has more class than to get involved with someone like fucking Nick Carter. I hope she hasn't done that either. That would totally suck ass big time.

"Nick! Nick can you like calm down and stop with the wild hand movements before you hurt yourself?" I ask him as he glares at me like he was ready to knock my block off or something. "Nick what's your problem man?"

"I'm sorry you're so slow and disadvantaged when it comes to figuring out things JC," he tells me, turning and looking in Nikki's direction.

"What are you talking about man? All I could make out was hands and something about Nikki. What are you talking about?" I ask him.

"I'm talking about you trying to put the fucking moves on my woman!" Nick shouts, drawing attention to the two of us. "You already tried once and here you are again. Did you fucking follow us here?"

"No I didn't follow you here! Who's your woman?" I ask him as he turns and points at Nikki.

Oh God, my heart sank a little bit when he pointed to her. So it's true then. He and her are together. I'll just have to do something about that. I can't let him be with her. Nikki was meant to be with me.

"Nikki Cavanaugh is my woman and I suggest you not put your hands on her again," he tells me, getting a little bit bold, poking me in the chest with his finger.

"Look Nick, I want you to pay attention and pay attention good. Nikki is one of my closest friends. If I want to touch her, I'll touch her. You and nobody else but her can tell me when I can't touch her. So I suggest you go back to where you came from and not touch me again," I tell him, getting up in his face, trying not to draw more attention to us.

"Chasez you ain't all that," he tells me. "If I have something to say about it, you won't be touching her again."

"Don't bet it on it Carter," I say, walking away from him as I see JT walking over in our direction.

"What's going on over here?" he asks, looking at me and then Nick.

"Why don't you ask Nick. He's the one over here acting like a fucking idiot," I say as JT just shakes his head at me.

"Josh just answer the question and stop playing," he tells me, ignoring that Nick was talking beside the two of us.

"He came over here and told me to leave his woman alone," I tell him as he looks around to see Nikki looking at the three of us with wide eyes.

"Well for me, could you please just ignore him and not cause anymore stress or drama. I think we've had enough of that for months not to come," he tells me, glaring at Nick and then smiling weakly at me. "Just go about what you were doing and don't worry about this."

"I'll try JT, but I'm not going to sit around and let him of all people tell me who I can be friends with. I can't help it if Nik was my friend before she met him. Where does he get off telling me to stay away from her?" I ask him.

"Well they are somewhat dating," he tells me, frowning. "I wish they weren't, but I can't control Nikki's feelings for the men she gets involved with. Hell if I could, I don't think she would have married Jason in the first place."

"I know what you mean, but that's our girl Nikki," I tell him as we leave Nick standing there at the guest check in looking like someone had slapped him in the face and walked away with his happiness.

Back at the Table

"Brian are you okay?" Nikki asks him, leaning over and whispering to him.

"No I'm not," Brian tells her, playing with the food on his plate.

"What's wrong?" She asks him.

"Nothing Nikki, don't worry about it," Brian says as JT walks back to the table and sits down.

"Don't tell me nothing darnit, I don't like it when people say that to me," she tells him.

"Well get over it already. I told you so deal with it," Brian says, getting up from the table and walking away, leaving Nikki sitting there wondering what was going on with him too.

"What was that all about?" JT asks her, taking a bite off a piece of chicken.

"I don't know. He wouldn't tell me," she tells him, eyeing Nick as he sat back down at the table.

"What?" Nick asks, looking at Nikki as she wouldn't take her eyes off of him. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

"I'll deal with you later," she says, picking her fork up to finish her meal.

"Women," Nick says under his breathe.

Later, Back at Jive -- JT's Office

JT's POV

Oh this has been one of those damn days and I can't wait for it to be over. This tour hasn't even started yet, but it looks like it's going to go down the drain real soon. I can't believe Nick actually acted that way. It's not like he and Nikki are official, hell she's still married to someone. He needs to cut that shit out before he pushes the wrong one and they kick his ass like Brian did. It's almost five now and I have yet...

"Mr. Poole you have a delivery," Tina says through the intercom.

"Thanks Tina," I say, getting up from my desk and walking down to her desk.

Once I got down to her desk, she handed me the things that Howard Marshall was sending over to me. Opening the package while standing there, Brian, Chad, Kess and Kevin walked up. Smiling at my child, Tina's phone rings and out of habit, I pick it up.

"Good afternoon Jive Entertainment, JT speaking may I help you?" I speak into the phone as Tina looks at me like I've lost my mind. "Hold on just a moment."

Smiling weakly, I turn to Tina and hand her the phone. Looking at me like she was about to give me one of her snappy comments, she took the phone from me and started speaking.

"You've turned into the receptionist now?" Brian asks me, walking closer to me as I stick my tongue out and gather the stuff that belonged to me and walked back down to my office with Chad holding on to my hand.

So what did you guys and girl do after lunch?" I ask them.

"We went to a movie daddee," Chad tells me as I look down at him.

"What did you all go see?" I ask him.

"We went to see Hostage with Bruce Willis," he tells me as I look over to Brian and then at Kess. "That movie rocked."

"It did? Was there action?" I ask him.

"Yeah it was. Lots of fighting, some car chases, oooh and there was some...nevermind," he says, looking up at Brian.

"Nevermind what boy?" I ask him as I looked over at Brian through squinted eyes. "Was there some nudity in that movie Brian?"

"Ah...well no baby," he says as I look at him again. "Well there wasn't nudity nudity, but there was a lot of action."

"What kind of action?" I ask him, looking back at Brian again as we stopped in front of my office door. Lucky that my other hand was full or I would smack him for taking Chad to an "R" rated movie.

"Baby don't worry about it," he says as everyone piled into my office sitting in various places.

"Uh huh, sure. I won't worry about it right now Brian," I tell him, wondering what kind of effects that movie would have on Chad later on that night.

"So what do you have there?" Brian asks me as I sit down behind my desk and start looking through the papers and files that Mr. Marshall had sent over.

"Why do you want to know Brian? You've been a little bit nosey all day," I tell him as he looks down. "Chad come here."

"Yeah daddee?" He asks, getting out of Kess' lap and walking over to me.

"Have a seat," I tell him, pushing away from my desk as he climbed into my lap. "This is all about you."

"What is it?" He asks me.

"These are your school records. Nice work," I tell him as he smiles up at me. "Are you sure you wouldn't feel better going to Boyles?"

"Daddy I don't want to go to that stuck up private school," he tells me, pouting a bit.

"Okay, I was just checking. You don't have to go to the private school, but you will be getting a tutor so you can keep up with your school work while we're gone." I tell him. "You've only missed a few days, I don't want you getting too far behind with your studies."

"I know daddee, you keep saying that," he tells me, smiling as I put that file folder down and moved over to the next one. "What's that one?"

"These are your medical records from Emanuel County Hospital and from Dr. Smith's office," I tell him as he frowns at me. "What's wrong son?"

"Nothing daddee," he tells me as I start reading through the file.

Hmmm, he was born premature and it says here he's been treated for Asthma, and Dysthymia. Reading further down, I see references to Uni-polar Disorder and Bi-polar Disorder, which his therapist believes he may one day develop, but nothing concrete as of yet. So I guess he took traits from both of us, you really can pass the crazy gene on to your children.

"Why didn't you tell me about this son?" I ask him, wondering why it hadn't crossed his mind to tell me that he hadn't taken his medication not once since he'd been with me.

"Daddee," he says and then looks down. "I didn't want you to know."

"You had to know that I would find out sooner or later, I'm your father," I tell him as he starts to sniffle.

"What's going on you two?" Kess asks, walking over to us as I glare at her and she steps away from my desk.

"Nothing," I tell her as she raises her hands and goes back over to Kevin. "It's almost time to leave this joint. I'm calling it a day."

"What are you doing later on J?" Kess asks, looking over at me.

"I think me and Chad are going to spend some quiet time together," I tell her as she nods and smiles.

"I think we're going to hit a club or something," she tells me as I grin at her. "Don't even go there JT."

"I didn't say anything, all I did was grin," I tell her as she shakes her fist at me.

"And you better not," she tells me, walking out of the office with Kevin.

"I guess I'll see you two later," Brian says, getting up and walking towards the door.

"I guess so," I tell him as he looks back at me and then walks out of the room. Stops and looks at me.

"I love you JT," he tells me, blowing a kiss and my direction and then disappearing out of sight.

"Daddee is there something wrong with Brian?" Chad asks me.

"I have no idea, but I'll talk to him later. Why don't we head home and take out something for dinner," I say to him as he hopes out of my lap and grabs his jacket.

"Daddee do you know how to make lasagna?" Chad asks me.

"Yes I do," I tell him as he smiles at me. "Can we have that for dinner?"

"Sure we can," I tell him as I start putting the files into my briefcase. "We'll have that with some garlic bread and a salad on the side."

"Cool daddee," he says, grabbing my hand as we walked out of the office and I locked the door.

"Home we go," I say, waving at Tina and her gentleman caller as we went.

This story is fiction and you shouldn't take it for anything else but that. This is for entertainment value only folks.
