Lost Without You

Chapter -- 5
by JT Poole and Nikki Brown

Thursday Afternoon -- Roberto's

Quentin's POV

Damn there's some quality action in this place today. Look at the ass on him. Damn he fine. Look at her; she's got a nice rack. JT doesn't know what he's missing here. I'm sure if he was here, he could chat up some of the suits up in here. What am I going to do about my boy, he's wasting away, he's not doing anything...

"What the hell?" I say aloud, not believing my eyes as I spot JT, his friend Nikki and a cute guy sitting over in a booth.

He really did have plans. I don't know what to say now, well except for damn, that guy is hot and his friend Nikki is looking hot too. I think I should drop by and see what's up with them and I might even have a seat and get the scoop on the new guy there.

"Well hello there handsome friend of mine and his friends," I say, walking over to JT, Nikki and the new guy. "I see you did have plans for lunch. I'm really surprised to see you away from work and out having a good time somewhat."

"Well hello Quen," JT says, somewhat eyeing me evilly. "What do we owe the pleasure of seeing you here?"

"Well this is where I was coming for lunch today. I thought I told you that." I state, trying to remember our conversation from earlier. "Oh well it's all good, regardless if you act old and senile. So who do we have here? A cute guy and a nice looking lady from last night."

"Ah I'm sorry, where are my manners today, they seem to be flying out the window right and left," JT says, looking over at the guy and then back to me. "Brian Littrell of the Backstreet Boys, Quentin Myers of Jive, the Manufacturing and Production department."

"Hi there," Brian says to me, extending his hand and smiled weakly. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you also Brian. Looks like JT has finally got on the up and up in the date department," I say, winking at JT and then looking over to his friend Nikki. "It's great to see you in the daylight Nikki. You are truly a very beautiful lady.

"Why thank you Quentin," she says, smiling at me.

I'm totally convinced now that her smile is there only for show. Since I came over, she's been smiling the same way now for a few minutes. Is she a model or what? Probably is, probably stuck up like one too. Oh well, those are the breaks.

"I guess I'll be scooting on now. It was nice seeing all of you. I hope you all have a wonderful time here. Enjoy your lunch," I say as the waiter brought their food over.

"Thanks Quen, you enjoy your lunch too." JT tells me as I notice he's holding Brian's hand under the table.

So that's it, the new guy is the reason he went out. I knew there had to be an explanation for that. Good taste in men. I bet he screws it up before the end of the day. Since he and Lance parted ways, he's been a fuck up with relationships, it's almost like he's doomed in any relationship he enters into. I wonder if this one with this guy will turn out the same?

Nikki's POV

Damn it to hell that guy's freaky. J has told me some things that sounded mean and just plain out rude, but now that I've seen Quentin a second time, I believe everything he told me now. The guy is a real piece of work. It was like he was staring Brian and me up and down. That shit was just scary, felt like I was on the fucking menu or something. The guy acts like he doesn't give a care about the toes he steps on. It was unprofessional for him to say the things he said earlier. I don't see why JT is even friends with a guy like that.

"Nik Nik are you okay?" JT asks me as I place my napkin down and take a sip of my wine.

"I...I'm fine J, why do you ask?" I ask him as Brian looks over at me.

"Okay have I crossed into the Twilight Zone or something? First Brian and now you. Am I missing something here?" He asks me as Brian starts to frown.

"I was only thinking about some things is all. You ain't got to act all queenie on me," I say to him as he gasps and puts his wine glass on the table.

"Excuse me? Oh no you didn't just go there girlfriend," he says, snapping his fingers at me. "I didn't act like a queen until now."

"Yeah whateva diva," I say as Brian watches the two of us interact.

"Fine, I'm done with this conversation. We are no longer friends," he says as Brian's eyes went wide.

"Yeah okay then, I guess I'll see you on the flipside." I tell him as Brian looks at the both of us, looking like he wanted to speak, but didn't know what to say.

"JT you can't be serious. She's your friend, she's only joking," Brian says, looking at JT like he was about to explode or something, the whole situation turning out more serious than it was.

"Brian calm down," he says, leaning closer to Brian. "We're only teasing handsome. This is our way of getting on each other's nerves."

"Yeah cutie, don't take our playing seriously," I say, hoping that we didn't just ruin things between them. "Me and J joke like this all the time. You should have been around last night, earlier last night. Sorry, I didn't mean to say that."

"Yes you did," JT says, smiling at me as he busted up laughing. "You ole heffa. Don't be trying to put my friend here on the spot. You knew what you were saying girl."

"Yeah, but still..." I reply just as the waiter walks over to the table.

"Is everything okay with your meal?" The waiter asks.

"Everything is fine, thank you." JT says as Brian blushes a little bit.

"Will you be needing anything else?" The waiter asks.

"You want something else?" JT asks, leaning a little closer to Brian, his hand going down under the table to entwine with the other man's hand.

"I'm alright, I'm full for right now." Brian answers, looking down to stare at JT's hand in his.

"How about you Nik Nik?" JT asks me, not even looking over to me.

"I'm okay too." I tell him, directing it more to the waiter.

"Alright then, could you bring us the check please?" JT asks as the waiter smiles.

"Right away sir," the waiter says, walking away.

"You two should really get a room," I say, sticking my tongue out at him and Brian.

"Why? We aren't doing anything that you don't already want to do with Nick," he says, sticking his tongue out at me and smirking evilly.

"Oh you're going to pay for that snide remark later on bub," I say, taking another sip of my wine as the waiter returned and handed JT the check. "Let me see that."

"What for? Are you going to pay it?" He asks as Brian looks up.

"No, I'm paying." Brian tells him, grabbing the check and sliding his chair away from the table and getting up. "I'll be back in just a moment."

"Get back over here, I'm paying for it." JT tells him as he pushes his chair back to walk away, leaving me at the table alone with my thoughts and my glass of wine.

In the Men's Room

"I'm sorry about the way things turned out Brian," JT says, washing his hands and taking a paper towel from the dispenser. "I shouldn't have invited Nikki without asking you first."

"It's okay JT, I had a good time regardless," Brian says, holding JT's hand now. "I'm quite sure we can get together some other time and be together."

"You have a point there," JT says, smiling as he looks around quickly and then leans in to kiss Brian on the lips.

"Mmmm, I liked that JT," Brian says, pulling JT back to him again, kissing him again, and deepening the kiss this time.

"Oh yeah, that's like...wow," JT says, breathing heavy as they separate as another man walks into the room. "Why don't we go get Nikki and get outta here?"

"Sounds like a plan to me," Brian says, smiling as he and JT walk out of the bathroom.
