Me and Joey Chapter 11 Waking up in Joey's arms, felt as wonderful as it did, the first day it happened. I can still see him lying there with that cute little grin on his face. I don't know what he was dreaming about, but I sure hope I was involved in there somewhere. I lay there wondering, 'what in the world I do next?' I knew, I had a party to clean up after, but then, I had a wedding to plan, that is, Joey and I had a wedding to plan. I didn't even know where to begin to plan for a wedding. I mean, most, had a bride and a groom. In mine, there was going to be a groom and a groom. 'Oh my God!' I thought to myself. 'In a matter of weeks, I'm going to become Mr. William Alan Fatone.' My heart suddenly began to race, and I became very nervous. Then again, maybe he would become Mr. Joseph Anthony Prescott. Oh, who knew? I had so many things running through my mind. I didn't know if I was coming or going. I felt Joey stir behind me, as he let a slight moan escape his lips. I didn't move, wondering if he was going to wake up, or if he was just repositioning himself. I don't know why I bothered, he could always tell, if I was awake or asleep. I still, to this day, don't know how he does that, but, he does. "Why are you awake, already?" He asked, in a sleepy voice. "Oh, just thinking." I answered. "Really? What cha thinking 'bout?" He asked, as he snuggled closely to me. "How one goes about planning a wedding." I answered, running my hand over his arm. "Oh, already worrying, aren't ya?" He asked, with a slight laugh in his voice. "Yep, you know me." I said, smiling to myself. "Yes, I do. I'm surprised you don't worry about worrying too much." He said, with a yawn. "Oh, shut up, I don't worry that much." I said, defending myself. "I just want this to be perfect, and we have a lot that has to be done." "Like what?" He asked. "Well, for starters, you haven't even met my family." I said, moving so that I was lying on my back. "We can do that this week, if you want." He said, leaning up on his elbow. "Okay, we still have to decide when, and where the wedding will be held. We have to decided if it's going to be just family, or if we're inviting guests. We have to decide what we're going to do about our names." I said, running off a few things that we needed to discuss. "What about our names?" He asked, with a confused expression. Well, if we're getting married, one of us will need to change our last name. Are you taking mine, or am I taking yours?" I asked, not knowing how he felt. "Wow! I hadn't even thought about that. I always assumed that who ever I married, would take my name. Of course, I wasn't thinking that I'd be marrying another man at the time." He said, running his fingers through his hair. "Well, either way is fine with me. What would you like?" I asked, looking into his eyes. "Honestly?" He asked, giving me a questioning look. "No, I want you to lie to me. HELLO!" I said, making him laugh a bit, at my use of his phrase. "Okay, smart ass, If you really want to know, I'd like it, if you took my name. That is, if you don't mind becoming a Fatone." He said, with a slight grin. "Actually, I'd be honored to become a Fatone." I said, running my hand across his stomach. "Really?" He asked, seemingly surprised at my answer. "Absolutely, after all, it's the name of the man, I love." I said, leaning forward to kiss his chest. "Aww, I love you too, Sweetie." He said, sliding his body on top of mine. I wrapped my legs around his, and began slowly rubbing his chest. He closed his eyes at the touch of my hand on his body. "So, where do you want to have the wedding?" I asked, as I continued to run my hands over his chest and shoulders. "I don't know. Where can we legally get married?" He asked, staring down at me. "How about, Hawaii?" I asked. "Hawaii? That would be so cool." He said, his excitement, that of a child going on his first adventure. "Great, now we have to decide on music, clothes, food, invitations, best men, and all that stuff." I said, causing Joey to collapse on top of me. "Can't we just elope?" He asked, snuggling up to my neck. "Sure Honey, you want to tell your mom, or should I?" I asked, turning my head to face him. "Okay, I get the picture." He said, burying his face into my neck even more. "Oh, don't worry Sweetheart, it sounds worse than it is, we can do this." I said, gently rubbing his back. "If you say so, Sweetie." He responded. "Well, I say so. Now, get up, so we can go get breakfast." I said, lightly smacking his shoulder. "Let's just have desert, instead." He said, kissing my neck. "As good as that sounds, and feels, Sweetie, we can't. We have a lot to do today." I said, getting a disappointed reaction. He stopped his advances, and rolled off me. Getting out of bed, he started for the bathroom, making a low growling sound. "We're not even married yet, and already, you're cutting me off," he said, with a grin. I smiled, as he disappeared from my sight. I got out of bed, and slipped on a pair of shorts. I made the bed, and tried to decide what to do for breakfast. I heard the shower start, so I knew I had a little more time to think about that one. So much to do, so little time. I decided that I would clean up the party evidence, and then try to decide some of the wedding things. First, I wanted breakfast. I went into the bathroom to tell Joey what I was doing. I heard him singing as I opened the door. "Joey!" I yelled, so he could hear me. "Yeah!" He said, sliding the shower door open a bit. "I'm gonna go out for breakfast. You want anything special?" I asked, leaning against the sink. "Nah, whatever you think, is fine by me, Sweetie." He said, with a smile. "Okay, I'll be back in a few then." I said, giving him a quick kiss. "Love you." "I love you too, Sweetie." He said, closing the door and returning to his shower. I headed for the local Mickey D's and picked up a few things for a quick breakfast, and started back home. My cell phone rang just as I pulled out of the parking lot. "Hello," I said, as I drove down the street. "Billy boy, what's up?" Lance said, on the other end. "Hey Scoop, what can I do for ya?" I asked, wondering why he was calling. "Nothing, the question is what can I do for you?" He replied, confusing me a bit. "I'm not following, Lance." I said, wondering where he was going with this. "Of course not, I'm following you." He said, with a laugh. "What?" I asked, in confusion. I glanced in my rear view mirror to see a red Toyota SUV, on my bumper. The driver looked very familiar. I pulled to a stop at the next traffic light. "Man, you just never know who's gonna show up, when you go out do ya?" He asked, laughing again. "Lance! What the hell are you doing?" I asked, looking at him in my mirror. "Same thing you are probably. I just grabbed some breakfast, when I saw you pull out of the parking lot." He said, looking around his area. "It's a little early for you isn't it?" "A little, yes," I responded. "I woke up early, thinking about these wedding plans, and having to clean up after the party, so I ran out to get breakfast while Joey was in the shower." "Ah, I see. Hey, I got no plans this morning. You want some help?" He said, offering his services. "Really? Hey, why are you out so early?" I asked, as my mind began to wonder. "Oh, you know me. I'm always up early, doing something." He answered. "True, Well, if you have nothing else to do, we could sure use the help. Besides, I'd like to talk to you about something" I said, glancing at him in the mirror. "Uh oh, what did I do now?" He asked, faining fear. "Nothing, I just want to ask you about something, that's all." I said, being vague. "Okay, just let me run by the house and change clothes, and I'll be right over." He said. "Sounds like a plan, blondie." I said, smiling to myself. "See ya then." "Okay, and don't call me blondie." He said, with a slight laugh. I ended our conversation, as he headed to his house, and I headed to mine. I was sort of glad that he was coming. He was so good at organizing, scheduling, and getting things done. I thought I'd ask his advice on some of the wedding plans. I had a lot to do, and I knew that I wasn't going to be able to do it all, by myself. I knew, Joey, would help with as much as he could, but even then, we were gonna have our hands full. Anyway, I made it back home, and went inside. I didn't see or hear anything of Joey. Of course, that didn't really mean anything, the sneaky little bastard. I swear. Sometimes, it was as if he would just appear, out of thin air. It really messed with my head sometimes. "Joey!" I yelled, getting no response. "Honey! I'm home!" I yelled again, getting tickled at my words, but still getting so response. I made my way through the house, not finding him anywhere. Finally, I spotted him out on the back deck, reading a book, and drinking a cup of coffee. "There you are. I've been yelling my brains out in there. I thought you'd left or something." I said, drawing his attention away from his book. "Oh, I'm sorry, Sweetie. I didn't even hear ya." He said, laying his book down on the table. "Gee, ya think?" I said, sarcastically. "I said, I was sorry." He said, making his way to me, and wrapping his arms around my waist. "I'm sure I could make it up to ya." He said, as he lightly kissed my neck. "Mmmm. I'm sure you could, Honey." I said, as he continued, knowing my neck was my weak spot. "However, Lance is coming over in a few, to help clean up after our little party." "What?" He said, pulling back to look at me. "I ran into him, when I went to get breakfast, and he offered to help." I said, returning his gaze. "Guess that means I'll have to be a good boy." He said, sticking his lower lip out for effect. "Aww, I'm sorry, Sweetie. Maybe 'I' can find a way to make it up to 'you' later." I said, grinning at him. "Oh, I like the sound of that." He said, leaning in to kiss me. "Come on you, let's go eat before everything gets cold." I said, taking him by the hand, and leading him to the kitchen. Lance arrived about twenty minutes or so later, and we started in on the party mess. All in all it wasn't that bad. We managed to get things taken care of, and in a couple of hours, everything was back to normal. We finished our work, and decided to take a break, out on the deck. "Sweetie, I'm gonna grab something to drink. You guys want anything?" Joey asked, as he headed for the door. "Umm, water would be great, Honey, thanks." I said, as I took a seat on a lounge chair. "What about you, Scoop?" He asked, as Lance grabbed a seat as well. "Yeah, water sounds good, thanks man." Lance answered. "No problemo, back in a flash." He said, making his way to the kitchen. "Thanks for the help, big guy. I appreciate it." I said, in Lance's direction. "You're welcome, Billy boy." He said, smiling at me. "Hey, can I ask you something?" I asked, repositioning myself. "Sure," he said, leaning back and stretching his legs out in front of him. "Well, I was wondering if you might be willing to help me with some of these wedding plans. It's going to be a lot, and I'm not sure if Joey and I can handle it all ourselves." I said, causing him to smile. "Really?" He asked, giving me an unsure look. "Yeah, I mean, If you wouldn't mind?" I said, searching his face for an answer. "Wouldn't mind what?" Joey said, as he handed me my water. "Thanks Honey," I said, taking the bottle from him. "You're welcome, Sweetie. Wouldn't mind what?" He asked again, handing Lance his water, as well. "He asked if I'd be interested in helping with the wedding plans." Lance answered, for both of us. "Scoop here is so good at planning and making sure that things are done the way they're supposed to be, I thought it might be good to have him watching our backs. I guess, I should have asked you about it first, Honey. I'm sorry." I said, hoping I hadn't made a mistake. "That's okay. Actually, it's not a bad idea." He said, easing my worries. "Are you sure?" Lance asked, looking from Joey to me. "It's fine by me." Joey said, looking in my direction. "I'd be grateful. Oh, and there's one more thing I'd like to ask of you, if you don't mind." I said, moving to the front of my chair. "Shoot," he said, giving me his full attention. "Well, I was wondering if you'd be my best man?" I asked, causing him to smile. "Are you serious? I'd be honored." He said, his face mirroring his words. "Great!" I said, giving him a hug. "I was hoping you'd say that." "Why wouldn't I?" Lance said, giving me a confused look. "Well, I just didn't know how you'd feel about it, that's all." I said, shrugging my shoulders. "C'mon Billy, you're my best friend. Of course I want to stand with you, on your wedding day." He said, giving me a light punch in the arm. "Thanks Scoop, I knew we could count on you." I said, smiling at him. "Yeah, thanks buddy." Joey said, pulling Lance into a hug. "Anything for you guys, you know that." He said, standing to his feet. "Well, I guess I'd better go now, that is if we're done here." "Yeah, we're finished. Thanks again for the help." I said, walking towards the door with him. "Anytime, Billy boy. Talk to ya later Joe." He said, waving towards Joey. "See ya, Scoop," Joey replied, throwing his hand up in the air. "So, when are you guys going to your parents?" Lance asked, as we walked out to his car. "I don't know, maybe the end of the week." I said, sliding my hands into my pockets. "Nervous?" He asked, putting his hand on my shoulder. "A little, I guess. I just hope they all get along." I said, staring at the ground. "Don't worry, I'm sure everything will be okay." He said, trying to ease my mind a bit. "I hope so. I guess Joey's right, I do worry too much." I said, with a laugh. "Yep, that would be you." He said, joining in my laughter. "Listen, I'll talk to ya later, okay?" I said, giving him one last hug before he left. "Sure, if you guys need anything, let me know." He said, sliding into his car. "We will, buddy. See ya later." I said, closing his door for him. He gave one last wave, as he drove out of sight. I turned and headed back into the house, with a billion things running through my mind. It was still early afternoon, so I talked Joey into going out for a quick dinner. After that, we decided to go for a nice drive, and sort of unwind a little. We discussed a few of the wedding plans, what colors we wanted, and that sort of thing. We also decided a time frame. The guys were going to have to go back into the studio soon for their next project, so things were going to have to move quickly. We were looking at about two weeks to get everything together. I was so glad that I'd asked Lance to help. There was no way, that Joey and I could put a wedding together in that amount of time, at least not by ourselves. Once we made it back to the house, I called Lance with some details on the wedding. He assured me that he would take care of things on the Hawaii end, as far as the place, the minister, and the decorations. Now I had to make plans to go meet my family, with Joey. "What time does our flight leave?" I asked, as I made my way downstairs with some luggage. "In about two hours." Joey answered, setting some of his own bags with mine. "Do you have everything?" I asked, doing a mental double check myself. "Yes mom, I have everything. Will you relax?" He said, grabbing me, as I started by him. "I'm sorry, Sweetie. I'm just a little nervous." I said, placing my hands on his shoulders. "Why? Are you afraid they won't like me or something?" He asked, with all seriousness. "Sweetie, how could they not like you?" I answered, giving him a quick kiss. "I just don't want them to do anything embarrassing, that's all." "Don't worry, Sweetie. I can handle it." He said, trying his best to reassure me. "I certainly hope so." I said, burying my face into his chest. "Trust me. I'll be fine." He said, pulling me back to look into my eyes. The next few hours went by fast, and before I knew it, Joey and I were on a plane heading for Kentucky. I suddenly became quite nervous again. I loved my family, but they had a way of interrogating potential husbands and wives. I just didn't want them to do or say anything that would offend, or hurt Joey. The very thought made my stomach queasy. Joey and I talked most of the flight. I was very thankful, because it took my mind off things for a while. It also gave us more time to talk about the wedding. We made our descent into Bluegrass Field right on time. As usual, we waited for most of the passengers to leave before we made our exit. Joey was wearing his normal disguise for these things, a baseball hat and sunglasses. We made our way into the airport, and I looked around for one of my family members. I didn't see any familiar faces inside the gate. Maybe, they were running late or something. "Billy, over here!" I heard someone yell. Looking towards the sound, I saw my sister waving her hand in the air. I smiled, as Joey and I made our way to her. "Hey sis, are you the official airport taxi or something?" I asked, giving her a hug and a kiss. "I'm beginning to wonder that exact same thing, bro." She said, hugging me tightly. "Sis, this is Joey." I said, taking him by the arm. "It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Joey." Leigh said, extending her hand. "The pleasure is mine." Joey said, shaking her hand. "Oh, what manners." She said, smiling at him. "Hey, do I know how to pick 'em or what?" I asked, grinning at her. "Evidently, you do little brother." She said, putting her arm around me. "Well, let's go get our luggage, so we can get out of here." I suggested. "Sounds good to me." Joey agreed, as we headed for the baggage claim. "Is everyone else at the house?" I asked, looking in Leigh's direction. "I'm not." I heard, from behind me. I turned to see who was talking to me, only to find my sister Lauren smiling back at me. "How ya doing, little brother?" She asked, pulling me into a hug. "Doing great, girl. How are you?" I asked, giving her a hug as well. "I can't complain." She said, as she released me. "Hi, you must be Joey." She said offering him her hand. "Oh, I'm sorry. Joey, this is my sister Lauren. Lauren this is Joey." I said, making the introductions. "Nice to meet you, Joey." She said, shaking his hand. "Nice to meet you too, Lauren." Joey replied. We made small talk, as we gathered up our stuff, and headed for the parking lot. Joey and my sisters continued talking, and getting to know each other a bit. I on the other hand became quieter, just listening to them. I was pleased at the way each of them was doing their part to get to know the other. Maybe, this trip wasn't going to be so bad after all. We loaded all our stuff in the car, and headed for the house. Leigh was driving, so Lauren took the front seat, leaving Joey and me together in the back. "So, what kind of terrible things can you ladies tell me about, Billy?" Joey asked, earning himself a glare from me. "Oh, I'm sure, if we put our minds to it, we could come up with a few things." Lauren said, with a grin. "I'll bet we could, at that." Leigh said, in agreement. "Well, knowing how your minds work, I'd be willing to bet you would make up a few things to tell him, just to make me look bad." I said, carrying on the joke. "Now little brother, would we do that to you?" Lauren asked, as if she were hurt by the accusation. "Besides, the truth is much more fun." "Yeah right," I answered, cuffing the back of her head. "Hey! Hey! Lay off the doo, or I'll have to start talking now." She said, touching up her hair. "Oh, you're actually going to do it with me sitting here? At least, I can defend myself?" I said, giving her a shocked look. "Yeah, he's right, sis. Better wait 'till we can get Joey alone, then dish out the really good stuff." Leigh said, with that little grin of hers. "It's not that they don't love me, it's just that they don't know what to do with me." I said, smiling at Joey. "I know what to do with you." Joey said, taking my hand, and causing me to blush. "Oh baby! Tell me more." Lauren said, fanning her face, for effect. "I think he's said quite enough, thank you." I said, causing Joey to laugh. We drove on towards the house, with the three of them amusing themselves at my expense. They each told their little embarrassing stories about me. I didn't mind. I was pleased at the way they were getting along. There was nothing that my sisters could say, without Joey coming right back at them. I was so proud of him for holding his own like that. I could tell that my sisters were impressed, as well. Finally, we arrived at the house. Leigh and Lauren went on inside, while Joey and I unloaded our luggage. I looked up to see Mom step outside the door, as we headed towards the house. "Hi mom." I said, dropping my bag, and giving her a big hug. "It's good to see you again." She said, returning the hug. "Mom, this is Joey." I said, directing her attention towards my fiancee. "Ah, Joey, I've heard so many wonderful things about you." She said, giving him a hug as well. "It's so nice to finally meet you Mrs. Prescott." Joey said, with his gentlemanly charm. "It's nice to meet you too, Joey. And please, call me Ann. Mrs. Prescott, is my mother-in-law." Mom said, smiling at him. "Okay Ann, I'll be sure to do that." He said, returning her smile. "Now, you two go on inside, and put your things away. I'll have dinner ready in a few minutes." She said, ushering us into the house. "Sounds good to me, I'm starving." I said, heading inside. "Billy, you and Joey put your things in your old room, and I'll see you in a few minutes." She said, catching me off guard. I found it interesting that she would allow us to sleep in the same room together, knowing that Joey was my boyfriend. Normally, she would never allow such a thing, without the benefit of marriage. Joey and I did as we were told. We took our things to my room, and decided to relax for a moment. I lay down on the bed, while Joey lay across with his head on my stomach. "Your family seems nice." He said, breaking the silence. "Yeah, they'll give you a hard time, but they're good people." I said, lightly stroking his hair. "I really like your mom." He said, turning to smile at me. "I think she likes you too, Honey." I said, smiling back at him. "Guys, dinner's almost ready." Leigh said, as she knocked on the door. "Okay sis, we'll be right down." I said, through the door. "I guess, we'd better get going." Joey said, sitting up on the edge of the bed. "Yeah, I guess we should." I answered, sliding around behind him. I wrapped my arms around his waist, and kissed the back of his neck. "You keep that up, and we're going to miss dinner." Joey said, causing us to laugh. "Well, we can't have that now, can we?" I asked, releasing my hold on him. "Probably not a good idea, Sweetie." He said, standing, and helping me to my feet. "Hey," I said, as he turned to open the door. "What?" He asked, stopping to look at me. "I love you." I said, bringing a smile to his face. "I love you too, Sweetie." He said, giving me a quick kiss. Dinner went well. It was only Mom, Leigh, Lauren, Joey, and me. The rest of the crew was either working, or had something else scheduled, that they had to take care of today. We finished our meal, and began cleaning up the kitchen. "Mom, why don't you, Joey, and Billy go on into the living room. Lauren and I will handle this." Leigh said. "We will?" Lauren asked, giving her a questioning look. "Yes, dear sister, we will." Leigh said, throwing a dish towel at her. "Okay, I guess, we will." Lauren said, draping the towel over her shoulder. "Actually Mom, there is something that we'd like to talk to you about." I said, seeing Leigh and Lauren smile at each other. "Okay, let's get to it then." Mom said, taking each of us by the arm. We walked into the living room, Joey on one arm, me on the other. Mom led us to the couch. As she released us, she took a seat in the chair, while Joey and I sat together on the couch. "So, what is it that you boys wanted to say?" She asked, taking charge of the situation. "Well," I started, as Joey interrupted me. "Would you mind?" Joey asked, letting me know what he wanted to do. "No, not at all." I answered. "Ann, I know that you don't know me very well, but there are some things, that I need to say to you, if you'll permit me." Joey said, asking my mother's permission to continue. "Of course, Joey. Please, go ahead." She said, giving him the floor. "Ann, I love your son, with all of my heart. He's become everything to me, and I don't think I could live without him. I have asked him to marry me, and he's accepted. We came here, not only to tell you about our engagement, but to ask for your blessing." Joey said, making me proud of him, for the way he handled the situation. "Joey," my mother started. "I have to be honest with you. I would rather my son marry a nice girl, and give me grandchildren. However, that doesn't change the fact that Billy is gay. It also doesn't change the fact that he loves you very much. I can tell by watching you two together, that you love him, as well. I can't say that I understand, what you boys are doing, but I do know, that I want my son to be happy. You make him happy, Joey. So, I will do my best to support the both of you, in whatever you do. You have my blessing." "Thank you, Ann." Joey said, giving her a kiss on the cheek. "You're welcome, Joey. You just take good care of him, understand?" She said, giving him a hug. "I will. I promise." He said, smiling brightly at her. "Thank you, Mom." I said, kissing her cheek, and hugging her tightly. "You're welcome, Honey." She said, giving me a squeeze. I looked towards the kitchen area, just in time to see two eavesdropping heads duck back inside the door. I smiled to myself, thinking that I was the only one to see them. "Well, I guess you'd better go tell your sisters the good news." She said, giving Joey and me a smile. I watched as my mother left the room, swelling with pride at the way she had accepted Joey and me. I honesty, thought that she would have a hard time with this. Again, my mother had taken me pleasantly by surprise. "So, are you ready to tell Leigh and Lauren?" Joey asked, bringing me out of my thoughts. "No need," I responded, confusing him a bit. "What are you talking about?" He said, giving me a puzzled look. "Well, my dear, sweet, Joey bear, they were listening at the door." I said, shedding some light on things for him. "I should have known." He said, with a laugh. "Let's go talk to them." He said, grabbing my hand. We walked into the kitchen, as Leigh and Lauren tried to look busy. I looked at Joey who in turn was looking at me. We tried to keep from smiling, knowing what the girls were doing. "So, how did the talk go?" Leigh asked, trying not to smile. "Not very good." I said, breaking into performance mode. "Not very good? What happened?" Lauren asked, giving Leigh a confused look. Joey, knowing what I was doing, decided to play along with my little game. He put his arm around me, as if he were comforting me. "Don't worry, Sweetie. It will be alright." He said, holding me. "I just hope, that she'll understand one day." I said, hanging my head for effect. "Understand what?" Leigh questioned. "Oh, let's not talk about it right now." I answered, burying my face into Joey's chest. "Billy, what's going on here?" Lauren asked, becoming obviously concerned at this point. "Sweetie, I think we should tell them." Joey said, continuing with our little scam. "What? Tell us what?" Leigh asked, coming to stand close to us. "I'm having a sex change operation." I said, almost sending the two of them into shock. "You're what?!" The said, in unison. "Are you out of your freakin' mind?" Leigh asked, beginning to pace. "I can't believe this. I cannot believe this." Lauren said, putting her hands on each side of her face, and shaking her head. "We told Ann, about it, and that we were getting married. She lost it, and locked herself in her bedroom." Joey said, still comforting me. "Oh my God!" Leigh said, stopping in her tracks. "I thought you just told her you were getting married." "What?" I asked, turning to face her. "I said, I thought you just told her, that you two were, "she started, suddenly realizing that she had been busted. "You mean, you two were eavesdropping on our conversation?" I asked, glaring at both of them. "Well, we, I mean, I, Oh, okay, we were eavesdropping, so what? We're not the one having a sex change." She said, putting her hands on her hips. "Really? Neither am I." I said, smiling at them. "What?" The said, once again in unison. "Hey, that's good. Can you do it in harmony?" I asked, sarcastically. "What do you mean, neither am I?" Lauren asked, leaning against the counter. "What he means is, we got ya." Joey said, wrapping his arms around me. "I saw you two listening at the door, so I decided to get even." I said, with a slight laugh. "You mean, you're not having a sex change?" Lauren asked. "Not in this lifetime." I answered, still laughing. "Well, you both will be having one when we get our hands on you." She said, as she and Leigh started towards us. "Uh oh," I said, grabbing Joey's hand and running. "Come back here you two!" Lauren yelled, as they gave chase. Joey and I stopped suddenly, turned, and threw both of them over our shoulders. They started kicking and struggling, trying to get free. "Now, if you promise to behave yourselves, we'll let you down." I said, lightly bouncing, Leigh. "We will?" Joey asked, giving me an unsure look. "Only if they promise to be good little girls," I answered. "Okay, I promise, now let me down." Leigh said, still kicking a bit. "Oh, alright, I promise too." Lauren said, still struggling to free herself of Joey's hold. Joey and I looked at each other. Slowly, we lowered the girls to the floor. I just couldn't believe that they would surrender so easily, so I was still being cautious. My fears were substantiated, when Leigh hit the floor and proceeded to smack me in the arm. "Hey! You promised to behave." I said, rubbing my shoulder. "And, I will, now that I've done that." She said, smiling victoriously at me. "Yeah," Lauren said, as she gave Joey the same treatment. "That was a terrible thing to do to us." "Oh, and I suppose listening to our conversation was the right thing to do." I said, giving them a questioning look. "Well, no, but our curiosity got the best of us." Leigh said, grinning at me. "Hey, curiosity killed the cat." Joey stated, shaking a finger at them. "Yeah, but satisfaction brought her back." Lauren said, putting her arm around him. We all had a nice little laugh, and decided to forget the whole thing. I wasn't really angry with them, but I couldn't resist a chance to mess with them. The next few days went by pretty fast. Joey had gotten to know my family, and it turned out that they really liked him. I don't know why I was so worried about it, after all it didn't take long for me to fall in love with him. Even my brother Randy got along well with him. Joey, had managed to charm his way into the hearts of every member of my family, in just a matter of days. We had accomplished what we had come to do, and the time came to head back home. I was thankful for a successful trip, but I was kind of looking forward to getting back home. Joey and I still had a lot to do, and time was running out on us. "Joey, it was nice getting to know you." Lauren said, giving him a hug good-bye. "It was nice getting to know you too, Lauren." He replied, as he returned her hug. "Joe, take care buddy." Randy said, shaking his hand. "I will. It was nice meeting you, Randy. You take it easy." Joey said, lightly smacking his shoulder. "Joey, I guess I'll see you in a week or two. It was so good to finally meet you." Mom said, giving him a kiss on the cheek, as well as a big hug. "Ann, it was an honor to meet you. Thank you for letting me become part of your family." Joey said, as he kissed her on the cheek, and returned her hug. "We're glad to have you, Honey. You make that son of mine treat you right, you hear me?" Mom said, holding his hand in both of hers. "I'm sure he will." Joey said, with a smile. "Of course, I will." I said, drawing their attention to me. "Here Sweetie, I'll take our bags on to the car." Joey said, reaching for my luggage. "Thanks Honey, I'll be there in a minute." I said, giving him a quick kiss. "You have a safe trip, Honey." Mom said, giving me a kiss and a hug. "I will, Mom. I'll see you all in a week or two. Thanks again, for everything." I said, returning the kiss and hug. "I love you" "I love you too, Sweetie." She said, cupping my face in her hand. "Bye little brother. Love you" Lauren said, giving me a hug. "Love you too, Sis. See ya in Hawaii." I said, as I released her. "You take care of yourself, Billy." Randy said, as he hugged me. "I will, Randy. I love you, man." I said, slapping him on the back. "Love you too, Bro." He said, smiling at me. Joey and I hopped into the car with Leigh, and headed for the airport. We waved to everyone as we pulled away. This had truly been an interesting trip. Who would have dreamed, that I would be introducing my male fiancee to my family, and that they would accept him with open arms. Just goes to show that nothing is impossible, when it comes to family. Leigh drove us to the airport, and came inside to wait with us. After checking our luggage, we sat at the gate entrance, talking and joking around with each other. Time passed quickly, and before we knew it, our flight was being called. Joey and I grabbed our stuff and headed for the gate, with Leigh right behind us. "You guys have a safe trip." Leigh said, stopping at the entrance. "We will, Leigh. It was great meeting you." Joey said, giving her a kiss and a hug. "It was nice meeting you too, Joey." She said, giving him a slight squeeze. "Well, I guess this is it." I said, smiling at her. "I guess so." She replied. "I love you, and I'll see you in a week or two, okay." I said, drawing her into a hug. "You just try and keep me away." She said, holding me tight. "I love you, and I'm so happy for you guys." "Thanks, Sis." I said, releasing her, as the tears came to my eyes. "Joey, you take care of him." She said, grabbing his hand. "I will, Leigh. I promise." He said, giving her a smile. Joey and I waved once more, and then turned and walked away. I wiped the tears from my eyes, as we headed towards the plane. "Sweetie, are you okay?" Joey whispered, so that no one could hear. "I'm fine, Honey. Just a little sad, I guess." I answered, in like manner. "You sure?" He asked, placing a hand on my back. "Yeah, It's just hard to say good-bye sometimes." I said, taking a deep breath. "I know, Sweetie, but you'll see them again in a few weeks." He said, trying to comfort me. "I know, Honey. I just miss them, that's all. I'll be okay, really." I said, giving him a slight smile. "I love you." He said, leaning close to my ear. "I love you too." I whispered, as we neared the plane's door.
