Medieval Love Part Deux Nickolas awoke to the song of the birds the next morning. He saw Lonnie running around preparing for his day. "Good morning, Lonnie." Nickolas yawned. "Morning, Master Nickolas." Lonnie smiled. "So what are we to do today?" he asked. "Good news. Sir Justin is leaving today. And Prince Brian is coming." Lonnie smiled. "He's coming?! What am I to wear?" he rushed to his closet. She smiled. "Please, calm down, Master Nickolas. I have already laid out a beautiful set on your chair." She pointed to the outfit that lay pressed on his chair next to his table. "He's actually waiting downstairs. I'll go tell him you've awaken." Lonnie scurried out of the room and down towards the guest room in the West Wing. She knocked on the door. "Highness, permission to come in?" "Come in, Lonnie." called a voice from inside. She opened and closed the door. A man with slightly curled, dirty blonde hair smiled and rose from his seat to embrace his old friend, his blue eyes twinkling. "It's been a long time, Lonnie." "I know it has, Highness." "You still haven't used your last wish yet." "I'll use it when the time comes." Lonnie replied mysteriously. "Master Nickolas is anxious to meet you." "As I am to meet him." Brian smiled. He looked in the mirror. "Do I look ok?" "Marvelous. Should I tell Master Nickolas to expect you at breakfast?" she asked. "Yes, go, you are excused." She bowed and dashed out the door. When she arrived at Nickolas' door, she slowly opened it a crack. "Where is she? She's supposed to tell me if he's ready! Oh, I'm a nervous wreck!" Nickolas paced on the floor. She entered. "Master Nickolas, His Highness is waiting downstairs at breakfast." Nickolas sucked in a deep breath and let it out. "Let's go." She smiled and waited for him outside so she could wait for the gossip when he returned. "Wish me luck." She smiled and nodded. *~At the Breakfast table, great hall, whatever~* "His Highness, Prince Nickolas!" announced someone. Nickolas walked in, his head held high. Prince Brian, Sir Harold, Lady Jacquelyn, King Robert, and Queen Janis rose from their seats. Nickolas took his seat to the right of his father, right across from Prince Brian. Breakfast proceeded in silence. "Nickolas, would you like to join me in riding this morning?" asked Brian. "Yes, I would love to." Queen Janis smiled to herself and caught a quick glance at Lady Jacquelyn. Maybe...just maybe...their sons would wed. *~At the stables~* "Aaron!" Nickolas called out into the stables for the stable boy. "Aaron! Where are you?" he called again. "Right here, milord." A boy of about 16 walked out into the sunlight. He could've passed as Nickolas' brother with his golden hair and fair features but his dark eyes showed different. "Out for a ride today?" he asked. "Yes, with a friend. Could you go fetch Midnight and Sunset for me?" he asked. "Of course." He ran off to prepare the horses for the morning ride. Brian arrived and looked around for Nickolas. "I'm over here, highness!" he shouted. Nickolas blushed. "You don't have to call me 'Highness' or 'Prince'. We are both of equal titles." Brian softly smiled. He looked cute blushing. Aaron returned with a caramel colored horse and a dark one. "Do you want Lonnie to accompany you, sir?" asked the stable boy. "No, tell her, it's ok this time." Nickolas responded. The stable boy nodded and left. "Come along, then. Let us stride into the sunset." "So, Nickolas...What do you look for in a suitor?" "Someone kind. Someone who will want me for me and not for my looks." He bent his head. "And not for my father's land." "I wish for a suitor like that too. But," he paused, "I guess this world isn't perfect." "How long have you known Lonnie?" he asked. "Oh, I found her in my garden. She's quite a handful." Brian chuckled. They continued riding when Nickolas felt something change in the air. "Is there something wrong?" asked Brian. Nickolas turned 45 degrees to his right and drew his bow. He let loose an arrow that wounded the agent behind the tree trunk. Both men slid off their horses and walked over to the quivering man. "Who sent you?" demanded the blonde heir. "S-sir J-J-Justin T-Timberlake." He sputtered a bit before he gave out. "Sir Justin Timberlake? I want nothing to do with him." Nick gasped. "Perhaps it is best if he return now." Brian suggested. Nick nodded. They went back onto the twin stallions and rode back towards the palace. *~Meanwhile~* "What do you mean, Agent 4 has failed?" he demanded. "That is what happened, sir. It seemed as if he sensed where the arrow came from." replied one of his men. He sighed and sank in his chair. "That is all. You are dismissed." He looked over towards the large painting of Prince Nickolas. "I will have you in my bed, Nickolas. Whether you like it or not, I will be the one to take your virginity." He cackled. Softly at first then grew louder. The night air rang of its evilness. But Nickolas and Brian were safely tucked away dreaming dreams about each other; unnoticing the danger that lay within their world. "I WILL have you, Nickolas. And I always get what I want." the man sneered. Email is always welcome. Mistress_N9@juno.com
