I'm just a slash fiction writer and this is all in my fantasy. If homosexual content offends you or is illegal for you to read then please leave. The only thing I have remotely in common with these boys is that Ashley Parker Angel and I were born on the exact same day---August 1, 1981 FIRST THINGS FIRST: Thank you to everyone who responded to the new storyline. A special thanks goes out to Ryan and Alex. They were the first people to email me back about the new stuff. They were fans that I always took for granted and in my absence I noticed how important my fans are. To everyone out there reading this and to those who never gave up on me I thank you greatly and truly appreciate every one of you. If anyone ever wants to email me please do. Don't hold back. I love talking to my fans. In my absence I wrote a short story in the "Young Friends" section of Nifty. It's called "Finding Support In Each Other". Go check it out. Pytn18@hotmail.com for comments and suggestions. The Next Generation-Chapter Two Kyle, Sean, Johnny, Randy and Cody walked into the J records studio, down the long hallway and eventually into an office where two men were talking and laughing. They walked in and sat down on the big leather couch at the back of the room. "Now isn't this an interesting sight." Lance said. "What can we do for you boys?" Trevor said. Trevor and Lance had taken over J records after Clive Davis passed away and had elevated it from a small dream of Clive's to one of the top record labels in the country. "Hey guys, we wanna start a band." Johnny spoke up. "Yeah your parents called us already. Are you guys completely sure about this? I mean it wasn't all bubble gum and laughs and besides, the boy band craze has gone completely out." Lance said. "Uncle Lance, I can speak for the rest of us when I say we're as sure as the day you taught me how to ride my bike." Johnny said. "Who better to bring back the boy bands then the sons of the past all-stars." Sean said "The world is sick of punk rock and heavy stuff. Let's bring this back." Kyle said. "Good enough for me. Let's get to work." Trevor said. The seven men walked into the studio with Lance and Trevor behind the glass and the mixing board and the five boys walked into the main recording area and sat on five stools that Lance had already set up. They sat in a line as flat microphones were lowered in front of them. All the way to the left was Kyle Estrada, son of Erik and Mandy. His skin was just a bit darker then the rest of the boys but just enough to be noticeable. His black hair was a contrast to the other boys. He had deep brown eyes that seemed to hide his soul. He wasn't the quietest in the group but usually only spoke up when needed. Next was Randy Carter, second adopted son of Nick and Ashley. He didn't quite have the looks or build of his brother, also being two years younger but he was just as good to look at. His hair was blond but not to the extreme like his older bro. His was more of a dirty blond like his father, Ashley. His blue eyes gave him away though and you could tell he was a Carter. All the way to the right was Cody Littrell, son of Brian and Leigh Ann. He had all the qualities of his father. He was attractive, cute, friendly and a true friend. The one thing that he always picked up from his dad was modesty though. Whatever good thing came to him he took it with appreciation and thanked God that it was given to him. He was never bigger than life and always knew to cherish everything that was given to him. Next to him was Sean Miller, only adopted son of Dan and Devon. His short, light brown hair that always seemed messy (which he did on purpose) gave way to his green eyes that could stare right through someone. He was the tallest out of the group with a slight build, like his father Devon. In the middle was Johnny Carter, the son of Randy Parker (Ashley's twin brother), and adopted son of Nick and Ashley. This was a kid that went through more before he was two then most kids have to their entire life. His mother died in a car accident before he could remember and his father died of AIDS about a month after giving him up to Nick and Ashley. He was a gift from God to his adopted parents and he knew it. They always treated him as if he was their own son and whenever he wanted to know about his father they would be more than happy to tell him. He accepted what was given to him and he believed it only made him stronger. Every time he sees his younger brother he thinks of his real dad and it's hard but he has a great support structure with his friends, especially Cody. Cody and Johnny had talked this morning about what happened last night. They were both ready to continue to be best friends and "cousins" and they decided they would worry about the band before figuring out their love life. That didn't mean that they couldn't have a little fun in the meantime though. "So have you guys thought of a name yet?" Lance said. "We couldn't really come up with anything yet." Sean said. "It's bad luck to have a band with no name." Trevor said. "I've got an idea." A voice came from the door as everyone looked over to see Josh Turner, O-town's old choreographer who went on to very big things after the boy band craze died down. He was now considered one of the top choreographers in the business. All the boys looked at each other and were shocked to see this huge star already in the studio with them. "I called in a favor guys. Josh is more than willing to help you get started." Trevor said "O-town gave me my start in the business. I couldn't resist but coming out here to help their kids get started." Josh said, his hair just as dark as the day he started and his eyes just as green. The years had been good to him. That must be what happens when you enjoy your job so much. After JC cheated on him he had a hard time getting over it but eventually did and always remained single, never wanting to get too involved again. Instead he put himself into his choreography, which is most likely why he became so famous. "From the group, I'd like to say thank you and we're extremely excited to work with you Mr. Turner." Johnny said "Please call me Josh. You're Johnny Carter aren't you?" Josh asked. "Uhh yeah, that's me." Johnny responded. "Been a long time since I've seen you. Anyway, I came up with a name. How does the name 'True 2 You' sound?" Josh asked. The boys thought about it for a second and answered with resounding cheers and smiles saying they liked it. "Alright, sounds good." Josh said "Awesome, you guys are officially a band. Have you guys written any material down yet?" Lance asked "Well we have some stuff but nothing in the form of a song yet." Johnny said. "Sean, tell them your idea." Kyle said as he nudged his buddy next to him. "What is it Sean?" Trevor asked. "It's kind of a stupid idea but why don't we do a remake of 'All or Nothing'. I mean it was a huge song when you guys made it big and it might be a good way to bring things back into style." Sean said with his head semi-facing the floor. Lance and Trevor looked at each other sharing that secret glance that they always had and knew what the other was thinking. "Sean, when we started O-town times were tough. We almost didn't make it. Your dad came along and was like a breath of fresh air for us. Keep putting out ideas like that and you'll be the exact same thing for this group." Trevor said into the microphone. The five boys cheered and laughed as they all ruffled Sean's hair and playfully kidded with him. This was going to happen. Their parents went through a lot of tough times and things would be the same for these boys but one thing they always learned from their dads was that music, fame and fans will eventually go away but friendships will never die and that was all that mattered, that they were doing this together. The boys had been working for hours in the studio on remixing and remaking the famous O-town track and were now on the stage attached to the recording studio. The facility was beautiful and Lance and Trevor did a good job of taking care of Clive's dream. "Alright boys, let's figure out these steps. 'All or Nothing' was a slow song but since we sped it up a bit we need to get some good moves for it." Josh said as he started to work with the boys. Two figures sat in the back of the auditorium watching these 5 boys try desperately to learn their moves and they both couldn't help but laugh. "Can you believe this Ash? After all the stories we told them about how hard it was, they still are as excited to start this as we were." Nick said to his husband of almost twenty years. "I don't know baby. I'm worried about them." Ashley said. "So am I but I honestly think they're gonna be ok. Look at them, they're naturals." Nick said. At the same time he said this Cody and Johnny ran into each other and both fell to the ground. "Yeah, naturals." Ashley said as he laughed. "Look at Johnny baby. He's really taking control of this group. He's loving it too." Nick said. "He's got some competition. Sean is an amazing dancer. I'm sure Danny taught him a few things." Ashley said. "Yeah it's ok though. Johnny's always got a smile on his face. It seems like nothing can bother him. He's just enjoying life." Nick said. "Reminds me of my brother." Ashley said as a tear came to his eye. Nick put his arm around his husband and held him close. They both sat and watched as the next generation of boy bands moved into the world. On the other side of the auditorium was another figure standing in the very back in the shadows so that no one could see him. JC still talked to Lance regularly so when he heard about the new kids bringing back what they started he had to see it. What he wasn't expecting to see was Josh, his ex-boyfriend there helping them get started. JC remembered how when he was at an all-time low Josh was there to help him. He was sitting on a stage all by himself just doing his moves over and over again just to get his mind off how his life had hit rock bottom. Josh could see right through him and they eventually got together that night. JC cursed himself for fucking things up with him. There wasn't a better lover in the world than Josh and now look at the great things he's done with his life. JC on the other hand has done nothing since the fame died. He married Justin out of the pure fact that he had no one else in his life. Josh was like an angel who saved him from all this drama and as soon as he was gone it came back to him. JC walked back out of the auditorium and into the parking lot. He stopped when he saw a familiar face leaning against his car with a smile and the same eyes that always greeted him like a friend no matter what. "How did you know I was here?" JC asked. "I was on my way to lunch and I saw your jeep in the lot. How are you buddy?" Lance asked. "I'm good." JC said. "You were always a shitty liar." Lance said. "Yeah well." JC said dismissing the conversation as he got in his car and started it. As he was about to drive away Lance dropped a bomb on him. "Surprised to see him huh?" Lance asked referring to Josh. "You set me up didn't you?" JC asked angrily. "Justin is not the right guy for you Jayce." Lance said. "Who says? He's still putting out records ever since his first solo hit went big. He supports me. What more can I ask for?" JC asked "Love" Lance said abruptly. "Yeah well me and love had a falling out period." JC said. "It's never too late." Lance said. "Sorry Lance, I hurt him too much. It's over." JC said as he drove away. Meanwhile, back inside Josh turned to the back and noticed that his watcher was now gone. Ironic how Josh had been at the back of the chapel watching JC get married and now JC was watching him. Josh shook it off and returned to the boys.
