Till next time It's Gravy Baby! = )~ This I Promise You By Rick Chapter 1: The Vision It was a befitting day for one of the important moments of their young lives. Outside the sky was clear and the sun shown through white pillowy tufts of clouds. The setting seemed to come out of a fairy tale dreamt and conceived for want or lavish taste. A carpet of fragrant wildflowers billowed in the cool Spring breeze as a large gathering of people quietly sat in their best suits and dresses. Their gaze centering toward a prominent bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Underneath a greatly embellished gazebo of sorts a rather large wedding party horse-shoed themselves around a happy-go-lucky looking minister. "Dearly beloved, we are gathered together here today, in the sight of God and in the face of this congregation, to join this loving couple in holy matrimony." The kind minister spoke in a loud and jovial voice. "If anyone has just cause why these two may not be lawfully joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace." He paused and scanned the large gathering sitting in the ornately decorated seating area. Finding silence along with a couple sobs coming from the audience the minister continued with the ceremony, soon it was time for the wedding vows. A young man presumably in his late teens or early twenties cleared his throat. He nervously ran a hand across his mop of golden brown locks. His eyes sparkling and alight with joy and happiness. "Before I met you, I was never sure what my purpose in life was. Then God showed me what my mission in this world was, and that was to make this wonderful and caring person happy," he stated proudly. "From the day we met, I knew that you were the one for me. The one that would protect me, want me, but more importantly, love me just as much as I love them back. You know me, inside and out, backwards and forwards. My secrets are your secrets. You bear my own insecurities with a heart big enough to warm me in such a way that I could never experience with anyone else. You complete me, because you are me, my better half and my inspiration," the young man paused and wiped a couple of tears from the corner of his eyes before resuming. "As long as the sun rises and sets in the sky, as long as there is a single breath in my lungs I will always cherish, honor and obey this unbelievable man in front of me. This man, who has been my best friend, the love of my life, and the source of my greatest joy." He smiled widely showing off rows of perfect pearly whites and took the platinum band his younger brother, turned ring bearer, was carrying and slowly slid it onto the ring finger of the tall man standing next to him. "I, take you to be my lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for better or worse. Till death do us part." The other man smiled with proud and unspoken love, carefully wiping away some of the tears skirting his soon to be husband's cheek; he finally gathered his thoughts and proceeded. "This ring is symbol for my love for you. It, like yourself, is made from the finest material. I have seen you grow up from a scrawny little boy to the man that I love today." The slightly older man picked up the ring and held it in the air. "This ring may not be extravagantly designed with gems, but it is pure and in its core is the highest qualities man could ever ask for, just like the inner qualities I see in you that has made me fall in love with you." "It is also representative of our love since it is in the shape of a circle, because we do essentially complete each other and like a circle there are no ends where I begin or you finish. Our lives have been intertwined with each other in such a way that we complete each other's sentences, thoughts and ideas. A circle is never ending and like a circle my love for you is never ending. When I'm not with you, look down upon this ring and remember my solemn vow to you." He slowly brought his arm down and placed the similar band on his best friend's finger. "I, take you to be my lawfully wedded husband. To have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for better or worse. Not even death itself could keep us apart" The minister, along with the entire congregation laughed and chuckled. "Amen. Those whom God has joined today, let no man put asunder. In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and by the power vested in me by the state of California, I now pronounce you husband and husband." The crowd roared with approval as the couple griped their hands together tightly. The minister cleared his throat once more before shouting, "You may now kiss your husband!" The two leaned close together before touching their lips in wedded bliss. The happy couple was regaled with louder applause and catcalls from the congregation. Next to them stood four best men and two maids of honor, very untypical for a wedding, but this was by far not a typical wedding by any sense of the word. The two young ladies knows as the queens of pop, were busy crying and trying to look presentable instead of hating and trying to kill each other, like the tabloids painted them out to be doing. One of the four best men gave a huge bear hug to his brother and new brother-in-law, still finding it strange to consider him a brother-in-law instead of just a friend to talk to. The other three, not really related to the happy duo were as close to brothers to them as you could get. One blond shy looking reserved teen bawled his way through the entire ceremony, not caring who saw him. Another macho looking guy with red dye on his hair was no better and cried like a baby, completely and utterly happy for his friends. The last one, the oldest of the group watched with quiet appreciation. Keeping his composure, for the most part, except for the momentary sniffles. An explosion of pictures was taken of the two lovebirds, the wedding party, and the respective parents. A very lengthy and tedious process, but one that would be highly rewarded once they got their pictures back. Soon the large gathering of stars, friends and acquaintances made their way to the reception a couple of miles back, in a wide open meadow set upon a snaking little stream. The groups sat down at beautifully set tables and were treated to a wonderful assortment of foods. Being untraditional and unorthodox the pair decided to throw two bouquets of flowers, each of which was promptly caught by the two maids of honor. The curly haired one was almost tempted to not even cut the beautifully decorated cake, but soon pushed the knife down through the moist cake. He carefully picked the piece up and brought it to his husband's waiting lips. The younger man, jokingly shoved the piece harder then the man had expected and ended up getting a large piece as well as getting some of the frosting on his nose. The crowd laughed in appreciation. Both began laughing as well, especially when the curly one decided to be daring and lick the frosting off with his tongue. This only spurned on their desire, which was caught by quite a few of their friends. "Save it for the honeymoon you two!" the gentleman with the red hair yells, causing everyone to laugh. After the cake was distributed for all and toasts were made in their honor, it was time for the traditional first dance as a married couple. The happy couple look deep into each other eyes as they begin dance on the floor as the music begins. "When visions around you Bring tears to your eyes And all that surrounds you Are secrets and lies I'll be your strength I'll give you hope Keeping your faith when it's gone The one you should call Was standing here all along And I will take you in my arms And hold you right where you belong `Til the day my life is through This I promise you This I promise you I've loved you forever In lifetimes before And I promise you never Will you hurt anymore I give you my word I give you my heart This is a battle we've won And with this vow Forever has now begun And I will take you in my arms And hold you right where you belong `Til the day my life is through This I promise you This I promise you Just close your eyes Each lovin' day And know this feeling won't go away `til the day my life is through This I promise you This I promise you Over and over I fall When I hear you call Without You in my life, baby I just wouldn't be living at all And I will take you in my arms And hold you right where you belong `Til the day my life is through This I promise you, baby Just close your eyes Each lovin' day And know this feeling won't go away `til the day my life is through This I promise you Every word I say is true This I promise you I promise you " "Justin!" JC called out as he woke up from his dream. "JC!" Justin called out simultaneously as he too woke up from the very same dream. To Be Continued????
