Send them to jcsonlydreamlover@hotmail.com ~*Barbie*~ "Seriously sometimes I forget (that) I'm a celebrity..."- Britney Spears Welcome to Paradise (Better known as my personal hell) Chapter 1: Hello Stranger "Jen please I have to go!" I whined into the cell phone as I bored the plane home to Hawaii. "Just tell me what happened Ry Ry! Please! It will make you feel better to diss that SOB also known as Seth. I mean you told me you guys broke up but why? I mean it's been a week Sweetie, let it out. That, and I'm dying to know what happened. " Jen argued. "Oh fine. Ok so I decide to go over to his house after shopping with you, to surprise him. So I stop by and pick up a dozen roses for him on the way. And when I get there I use my key to open the door and walk into find Seth making out with that girl from the copy place on his couch. Can you believe him? A girl! An ugly girl for goodness sakes! I mean if you're going to ruin a 4 year relationship at least have the decency to do it with a pretty blonde with a nice rack." I replied sitting down in my seat with my carryon in between my legs. "Oh Ry Ry Honey, I'm sorry. I never expected him to do that. I mean you guys seemed happy together." Jen cooed. "I thought we were too." I sighed in return. "I mean I thought you two were going to tie the knot one day. I'm really sorry to hear that." My best friend replied into the phone. "Me too, Jen, me too. And I'll stop think about it if you stop talking about it." I replied. "Yeah ok sorry. Listen why don't I fly out next week to visit you! We could hit all the touristy places! It would be fun! Please! I've never been!" She begged. "Oh please girl. You visit me once every two months! I mean you practically lived in my guest bedroom while Alex and you broke up, the first time! So don't tell me you've never been." I laughed. "Ok fine, I have, but please let me cooooooommmmmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeee!" She begged and I could tell through the phone that she was pouting. "Oh fine, but only for a week. I have a new a job you know. Its were grown up people go during the day to raise money so they don't have to live off their parents when their 24." I gave in. "Oh shut up. I have a job." She defended. "Oh you call doing peoples taxes a job?" I asked. "Oh you call teaching kids a job?" she replied. "Fine, you have a job. And yes I think teaching kids a job." I gave in. I turned to look at the empty seat next to me that Seth should be sitting in. And then at my watch, 7:08. Why hadn't we left yet? It was suppose to take off at 6:45. I looked around to see if maybe a connecting flight was late and if many of the passengers from that flight were on this one was well. But I couldn't find more than 4 empty seats. Sighing again I turned my attention back to Jen who was going on about how she couldn't wait to come visit me. "Jen," I said interrupting her. "You live in Orlando. O-Town, whatever you want to call it. Its sunny, warm, and one of the nicest places to live. It also happens to be the boyband capitol of the world." I added grinning. Suddenly I heard the captain telling us that a few of the passengers were late arriving and we would be leaving shortly. "Jen now I really have to go. We are about to leave and I have to put my bag over head still." I said. "Ok Hun, I hope you feel better. Don't let that excuse for a human being get to you. Who knows maybe the guy sitting next to you will be the man of your dreams." Jen teased. "What are the chances of that happening?" I asked rolling my eyes. "Look I really have to go girl. I'm sorry but I'll call you later k?" I asked hugging my phone to my ear with my shoulder as I grabbed my Disc man, CD case and book out of my bag. "K. Have a nice flight love ya Ry Ry. Bye bye bye." She sang into the phone. "You are such a dork Jen, but I love you anyway girl. Bye." I said before hanging up. Zipping up my bag I set my phone down. I picked up my bag flinging it over my shoulder, only to collide with something. "Oh shit!" a mans voice yelled behind me. I turned around to see a guy clutching his right eye. "Oh my G*d! I am so sorry dude! Are you ok? I didn't see you? I am sooooooooooo sorry!" I babbled on. "It's ok. What have you got in there in the first place, bricks?" he laughed. "No, bricks would be lighter. Papers I have to correct. Are you sure your ok?" I asked again looking closely at his now purple eye. "Yeah, I'll be fine don't worry about me." He smiled. "Just making sure 'cause your going to have quite a shiner there." I smiled in return. Damn he was hot! "I'm Josh," he said sticking his hand out. "Ryan, nice to meet you Josh. But you better get to your seat the planes about to leave." I replied shaking his hand. I marveled at how strong his grip was. "I am at my seat. I was walking to sit down next to you but you kinda hit me into the isle." He answered. "Oh. Sorry about that." I replied sitting down next to him. "No problem. So do you know why there is no one sitting next to you or did someone just not show?" Josh asked making small talk. "My boyfriend, well ex boyfriend was suppose to come but we broke up last week." I sighed looking at my hands in my lap. "Oh dude, I'm sorry. That sucks." Josh said patting my back. "Yeah well anyone who breaks up with me for the girl at the copy place is a freak. That sounded like something from 'Friends' doesn't it?" I laughed. "You like 'Friends'?" he asked. "No, I just quote Chandler on a regular basis because I hate that show." I replied rolling my eyes. Josh laughed. G*d even his laugh was sexy. "I like that show too, but Star Wars is much better." He smiled. "Yeah it's ok. But the India Jones series is much more entertaining." I responded. While my new friend was going on about how much better Star Wars was than India Jones I just smiled and reached into my pocket and pulled out a packet of Juicy Fruit. "You want some?" I asked pointing the pack towards him. "Nah, but thanks." He smiled. If he kept doing that I might have to switch seats with someone to keep from jumping the boy. Wait he doesn't even bat for the same team as me, does he? "So why are you heading to San Francisco? Or Hawaii" I asked sticking a stick of Juicy Fruit in my mouth. The plane stopped in San Francisco to refuel and pick-up/ drop off passengers. "A week in Hawaii on vacation before I have to go back to my job." He replied. He seemed a little hesitant on telling me anything more, but I decided not to push the subject. "Sounds fun." I smiled. "You have uncorrected papers in your bag, what are you a teacher or something?" Josh asked nodding his head to the upper compartment that held my carryon. "Yeah I'm a 2nd grade teacher at a local elementary school." I answered. "You're a teacher? Aren't you a bit young to be a teacher?" he blurted out. "I get that all the time. Most people were like 'aren't teachers supposed to be old men with gray hair?'" I laughed. "But yeah I am I guess. I came straight out of college to teach." "What subject?" he asked relaxing in his chair. "Everything from math to reading to music." I answered breathing deeply. "You ok?" Josh asked his eyebrows raised. "Yeah, I just don't like flying a whole lot. The whole being 10,000 feet above the water thing." I replied biting my lip. That was the understate meant of the year to put it milady. I hate heights. HATE them. "I'm like that with needles. Cant stand the damn things." He smiled. "You know the song 'I cant stand to fly? I'm not that naive?...'" I asked. And he nodded. "Well the line 'Men weren't meant to ride with clouds between their knees' pretty much sums it up." I half smiled. Josh just laughed. "Gosh my students are going to kill me when I get back." I groaned remembering why I even went to Florida. "Why? What'd you do, not sharpen the red crayon enough or something?" Josh laughed. "Hey! They may be young but they're not stupid, they can sharpen their own gosh dang crayons if they want. No I was going to an organization to get money for our music program, but they canceled the meeting on me. Something about the founder being on vacation or something, I don't know. But the kids had their heart set on getting a stronger music program. Uhg." I groaned. "Sorry, didn't mean to tell ya that. You don't need to hear me complain about my troubles." "No problem. By the way the organization you went to wouldn't be the Justin Timberlake Foundation would it?" Josh asked. "Yeah how'd ya know?" I asked eyebrows narrowed curious. "Just a guess." Josh shrugged. There he was again being distant. Oh well, it's not my business why he wont talk to a stranger on a plane. "So what do you want to talk about?" I asked. "I don't know. You're the teacher. Don't you have games you play with the kids?" Josh sighed. "Fine I say a letter and you tell me the first thing that come to your mind that starts with that letter." I suggested. "Oh fun. I wish I was in your class." Josh smiled playfully rolling his eyes. Was it just me or was he flirting with me? "Ok lets start with A since it's the first letter." I said relaxing in my seat a bit. "Airplane." He replied quickly. "Oh that's original. Ok B." I said rolling my eyes. "Big Bird." I raised my eyebrows. "What? My best friends little brother was watching it before I left!" "That's what they all say, right before you see them on America's most wanted for stocking Kermit the frog." I said, sarcasm dripping off my words. "Moving on..." Josh smiled. "Ok C." "Ketchup." "That doest start with a C!" I laughed. "So it has the same sound! I never understood why it didn't start with a C." Josh defended. "Nope, doesn't count. Do over." I argued and when he didn't give in I pouted. "Ugh fine only if you stop pouting! I can never say no to a hot guy that pouts." He groaned. I started laughing. "What?" he smiled. "Nothing its just I didn't think you swung that way is all." I laughed. "I swing both ways actually." He corrected. "Oh sorry. My gaydar must be broken because I detected straight." I laughed. "Oh I'm straight alright. Straight as a rainbow." He smiled. "Well damn then. That straight? Not even a little bent?" I asked sarcastically. "Nope sorry I'm so straight I put a boomerang to shame." He joked. Dang he was sexy, opps already said that. Great now I'm repeating myself. Even better I'm scolding myself, perfect. Having a monologue here Ry. Quick say something so he doesn't think that you're a freak that cant keep a conversation going. "So what do you do for a living?" I asked the first thing that came to mind. After the words left my mouth I mentally slapped myself, he tensed at that subject you nitwit! "I'm in the entertainment industry." He replied. "Oh that's cool." I smiled. Play it cool Ry, you're doing great just don't mess up. I coached myself throw the next 4-hour plane ride till we reached San Francisco. When we stopped we both decided to get up and stretch our legs. I walked to the front place were the stewardesses have the drinks. I got an ice tea to calm my nerves and sat back down for the 5-hour flight I had ahead of me. I still had about an half an hour left before we took off so I asked one of the flight attendants if I could use my cell and they said it was fine as long as I turned it off before we took off. So I whipped it out and dialed Jen's number. "He..ll..o?" she said out of breath. "Jen? It's me, Ry. What's up?" I replied. "Ry, what in the hell is your problem? Do you intentionally have the worst timing on the face of the planet?" Jen yelled. "Jen what are you talking about?" I asked extremely confused. Then I heard a voice in the background. "Hun who's on the phone?" "Oh G*d Jen! Tell Alex I'm sorry. I'll call you later Sweetie!" I said quickly before hanging up. I closed my eyes and turned a bright shade of red. Of course with my luck Josh happens to come back to his seat right then. "Hey what happened?" Josh asked taking his seat and buckling his seatbelt. "I just interrupted my best friend and her boy friend having sex." I groaned. "Very bad mental picture." "Oh dude that's nothing. Once I walked in on one of my band mates in the shower with his girlfriend. They were both naked. Of course they were more embarrassed than I was but still..." He laughed. I smiled. Josh was Mr. Wonderful. 'Damn with my luck today he's probably engaged to some pop princess with a big rack.' I mentally groaned. "There's that smile I know and love." He said pinching my check. "Dosh dif you don't dtop dat dright dow D'm donna dave do dick dore dass." I warned. He laughed and let go of my now pink check. "Oh I'm so scared." Josh mocked. "Yeah you better be." I replied smiling evilly while rubbing my sore check. "Oh bring it." Josh smiled. "Oh it's already been brought." I laughed. The rest of the plane ride was pretty boring we mostly just talked and joked around. About half way through it Josh said he was tired and wanted to take a nap. "You can lean on me if ya want. But if you drool I'm charging double." I offered. "Such a gentlemen. And I'll take you up on that offer, but don't worry I don't drool." He laughed and laid his head on my shoulder. Around half an hour later he started shivering a little, and since I couldn't find his jacket anywhere I gave him mine. But a few minutes later... "Excuse me sir, does your boy friend want a blanket?" One of the young flight attendants asked. "Um yeah that would be great." I replied. What was I suppose to say. 'He's not my boy friend you idiot. For one he's probably not even single, two we barley know each other and three why would he go for someone like me?' but the stewardess came back interrupting my thoughts. "Thanks." I answered great fully taking the thin icchy piece of clothe from her. "No problem, and might I say that you and your boy friend make a cute couple." She smiled and walked away, not letting me correct her. 'Would you have if she'd stayed?' I asked myself silently. I was in the middle of debating against myself when Josh's head rolled off my shoulder and on to my lap. I froze. What was I supposed to do? Wake him and say, "Um excuse me but get off me????" So I just let him sleep, he looked like he needed it anyways. When the captain said that it was time to buckle up for landing I thought that I should wake my sleeping beauty. I shook him softly, but when that didn't work I started whispering in his ear. "Josh? Josh wake up. Come on dude wake up already the planes about to land." But when he still wasn't responding I checked his pulse just in case. Yep still beating, guess he's a heavy sleeper. Ok plan B. What plan B was I had no idea but its time for it. I decided to pack his bag for him and to just push him into a sitting position. He FINALLY woke when I told him that the plane was crashing and we were plummeting into the Pacific. "What?" he yelled sitting straight up in his chair, eyes widening. "Finally you wake up, I thought I was going to have to pour water on you!" I laughed. "You could have just shaken me a little." He whined wiping the sleep out of his eyes. "Believe me I tried just about everything under the sun trying to wake you up." I smiled. "Whatever." He laughed, obviously not believing me. After a few minutes that stupid stewardess walked by and winked at me. I started cracking up. "Now what's so funny?" he asked wondering why I was laughing my ass off for no apparent reason sense he had not scene the wink. "A stewardess thinks we're together. She offered to get you a blanket and when she gave me it she said 'you and you're boy friend make cute couple." I laughed, but Josh didn't. "Why is that funny?" he asked confused. I looked closer at his face and could tell he was trying not to smile. "Because I mean she thought I would sink as low as you! I mean pla-ease! I could do so much better." I teased. "Oh yeah right! I am the cream of the crop baby!" Josh laughed running his hands down his body suggestively. "So you wanna give her a show?" I asked grabbing his hand and raising my eyebrows up and down. "Sure, it's always fun to scare the normal people." He grinned, squeezing my hand. In other words I was in paradise before I even stepped off the plane. I was surprised that he said yes, but was I complaining? No way! We grabbed our carry-ons and walked off the plane, hand in hand. If I didn't know better I'd say we were a real couple. Josh even whispered things in my ear. It looked like he was saying cute little things to make me blush, but really he was telling me that the person to left of us was chocking on a French fry watching us and I was trying hard not to laugh. As we reached the baggage claim we were gaining quite and few odd looks. I was finding it really amusing and so was Josh apparently because he kept going a little farther each time someone else looked at us. Once we finally reached the place wear our luggage was he had his arm around my back. Then again maybe the weird looks were because he was wearing a long sleeve shirt, a hat, and glasses in 90-degree weather, which I thought was strange too. Once we both found our bags I gave him my cell number and told him to call me if he ever got bored or just wanted to talk. As he was stepping into the cab he did something that caught me totally off guard, he kissed me. Not just a peck on the check, I'm talking deep sensual kiss. When he broke away he smiled, got into the cab, and drove away. I just stood there for a moment watching him drive away before hailing a cab myself and going home.
