Date: Mon, 21 Jul 1997 17:02:41 -0400 From: Marc Mustacchio Subject: JOCKEY HOLLOW: EPISODE XV JOCKEY HOLLOW: AN ON-LINE SOAP OPERA ABOUT GAY YOUTH EXPRESSING THEMSELVES SEXUALLY. Jockey Hollow is a small town of 5200 people located in the Northeastern corner of Nebraska. Its population is made up primarily of a younger 20-something crowd, mostly gay men who have found a haven in Jockey Hollow. There is an older generation of people in their late-30s-40s, and an even smaller teen crowd. The teenagers are runaways from cities like Des Moines & Cleveland; runaways who have been outcasted from their families because the are gay. Things in Jockey Hollow are not what they seem or appear to be. The stories revolve around the principals' characters, all of who are in their 20s and gay. Occasionally female characters appear, but they are the girlfriends of bisexual characters. Episode XV "What kind of profile do you have on this killer?" Wade asked. "I'm glad you asked that," Kenny said. "The FBI has precious little on him. We know that he attracts his hustlers in a car, different each time. We know he takes them someone and tortures them to unconsciousness, shoves the baseball bat into the ass hole and snaps in half, he then drives them to the water way of choice and forcibly drowns his victim." "So he kills his victims, then takes them to be drowned?" the Sheriff asked. "We aren't sure." "So what exactly are we sure of?" Nicky said. "Not a hell of a lot. Nobody sees this guy pick up the hustler. That's what makes this case so difficult to deal with. What is he doing? In Stephen Wirley's case we know the most. Stephen was a bit more popular and well liked than the rest of his victims. We can place him in Maggie's where he had sex, met with Ryan and Michael, refused their very generous offer of $500..." "But why?" the Sheriff asked. "I've known Stephen since he's been in Jockey Hollow and I've never known him to refuse so much money." "What if he got a better offer? Suppose Stephen was in the parking lot of Maggie's with Ryan and Michael when a car pulls up and gives him a better offer?" "But when we questioned them, they would have mentioned a third person, wouldn't they?" Wade asked. "I mean to get off the hook?" "Suppose they didn't see that third person? When people hire hustlers, they aren't obvious about it. They do it discreetly. Picture this scenario, Stephen is facing Route 77 and Ryan and Michael are facing Maggie's. They are discussing what they will do, when Mr. X pulls up with and holds a piece of paper with a price written on it. Like in the thousands. Suppose Ryan and Michael did not see this person and suddenly are dised for Mr. X." The policemen pondered Kenny's scenario. "That's the approach Mr. X uses. He saw Stephen with the two men and had to make him the ultimate offer—the offer Stephen could never refuse." "I have a question," Nicky said. "How did Mr. X know Stephen was a hustler? I mean seeing three guys standing around is no indication that one of them is a hustler." "That's why I believe Mr. X is in Jockey Hollow. He always stakes out his intended victim, discretely, so that he knows who the hustlers are. In every case, we believe Mr. X was in the city the murder was in at least a few months prior. He knows when the murder will occur because it's already planned. It's predetermined. It's set. "He sets up a residence, a business or a job, a name, usually an alias. He moves on, cruising the hustler's spots, not picking anyone up. He finds out his victim, his victim's habits, not specific habits, but in general. Stephen probably gave him a blow job in the pool room or he watched as Stephen gave his blow jobs. Maybe Stephen recognized him. He'd drive an expensive car, a Camaro, a Porsche, what have you, maybe wearing nice clothing. No jeans or shorts, just suits. All to give the facade of being able to pay the amount promised in the offer. Tell me, was Stephen a high class hustler? Did he attract men with lots of money?" "Stephen liked his cash," the Sheriff said. "But he also liked his cock. It depended on how financially strapped he was at the time. He had scored a $200 hit with Tex and made money in the pool room. And he went with Mr. X." "Someone had to have seen him go with Mr. X," Wade said. "Someone like Ryan and Michael." "Cliff, can we get those two in here for questioning?" "Sure can." The Sheriff opened the door to his office and said to Larry, "Get Ryan Edwards and Michael Quinn in here." "Okay, Sheriff." The Sheriff re-closed the door. Kenny was looking at the computer on the Sheriff's desk. "This is what's puzzling," Kenny said. "Somehow X got into your computer and e-mailed me. He knows I'm after him and wanted me here. As if for some final battle. Some coup de gras. But why?" "He found out my password. I've changed it since, but he was able to hack into my system." "So he's a hacker as well?" Wade asked. "Yes," Kenny replied. "That's a new development. One that arose when I arrived here." "When exactly did you get your e-mail?" Cliff asked. "May 12 at 8:30 AM, Chicago time." "What did the mail say?" "Very official. `Agent Westmoreland, I am a Sheriff in a small town in Nebraska called Jockey Hollow. I've read that you've been investigating the murders of various hustlers. We found the body of a hustler in our lake. Please come urgently. Sheriff Clifford Alexander.' " "But you would have found out that we knew nothing about those prior murders when you got here." "So we know he's a cyberboy as well. Very interesting. But let's get back to Maggie's. Can you put posters around town asking for anyone who was in Maggie's parking lot the night of May 11-morning of May 12 to stop by or call the Sheriff's office." "That can be up to 50-100 people," Nicky said. "Truckers are in and out of there all night." "We have to try somewhere." "I'll have Larry put something together. We'll post them as soon as they are prepared." "Now," Kenny said, sitting at the Sheriff's desk. "I need to know about your newcomers to Jockey Hollow. Anyone who's arrived here since March of last year. People who have made their presence known in the gay community." "Do we know this X guy is gay?" Wade asked. "You don't need to be gay to hire a hustler." "That's been a given since the first murder. We know he's a gay man in his late-20s-mid-30s." "Okay," Cliff said. "That guy Sam you met at the cemetery, he's been here since Christmas. John Bromilow works at the diner during the day, he's been here since last October. And Adam arrived the night of the murder, but he's not gay." "Is Bromilow?" "I think he may be bi," the Sheriff said. "That's it? Three people in a year?" "No, there's lots more, but they've made themselves known in the community." ... Two hours later, Ryan and Michael entered the Sheriff's station. Larry showed them into the office. They sat where Wade and Nicky had been seated. Kenny sat in front of them at the Sheriff's desk. "Would you boys like some coffee?" "No," Ryan said. "What is this about?" "We would just like to know some information about the night Stephen Wirly was killed," Kenny said. Kenny did all the questioning and Ryan did all the answering. "When did you first see Stephen at Maggie's?" "In the pool room. Mike and me were playing a game when Stephen walked in. He stopped the action in the room. The truckers there knew him and what he wanted." "How many truckers?" "Five or six." "Go on." "Like I said, he stopped the action in the room. He got on a pool table, on his stomach and went to work. He sucked each cock. It was hot to watch. I mean he worked his tongue over and under the dicks, kissing the shaft, deep-throating the shaft. Then swallowing the load. Thick gooey gobs of cum that dripped down his chin because he couldn't fit it all in his mouth. He took most of it though. The dudes would pay him a fifty after he was done." "Were you in on any of this action?" "No, we just watched. I had an idea for him after he was done that I told Mike. Mike liked it." "What was the idea?" "To take him to my place." "Where's that?" "I live about fifteen minutes down 77 West. I always wanted a bondage threesome." "When Stephen was done, did you approach him immediately?" "He was at the bar with some dude, the guy from the gas station diner, Seth, I think. When he sat at a table, I joined him. I explained what I wanted. He was excited. He smiled and said he had a hard-on just thinking about it." "Did you offering him the money? Or did he suggest a price?" "I offered him $500 for three hours of bondage games. Very expensive, but he looked worth it." "So he accepted?" "Oh yes." "So you went out to the parking lot. What happened there? Was he still into it." "Yes. We approached my car and then he suddenly became antsy." "Antsy?" "Yes. He looked faint. Sick almost. I thought it was due to all the cum he swallowed. I knew that he had taken the five or six truckers, but God only knows how much he took before that." "Did he back out of the deal?" "Not at first. He said he wanted to go, bondage was something he always wanted to try." "So what happened?" "He turned green. Sickly green. He said that he'd take a rain check. He said he'd meet us at the diner the next day. That's why we were there when the Sheriff arrested us." "Did he vomit?" "He walked across the lot to a metal guard rail and began puking. We started to approach him to see if needed our help, but when we were about 100 feet away when we saw this man come out of the shadows." "Man?" Kenny sat up attentively. "He was in a dark suit. He held his out in a stop gesture to say that he was going to help Stephen. We saw him pick Stephen up and put him over his shoulder. He carried him into the woods." "Sheriff, how far is it from the woods adjacent to Maggie's and the lake behind the diner?" "Oh, I'd say three or four miles." "So for someone to navigate his way through there in the dark, he'd have to know where he was going?" "Yes, it's hard enough in broad daylight." Kenny nodded. "So he wasn't given a better offer?" "No," Ryan said. "You see, we thought he backed down from your offer because he was given a better one." "No. That's not what happened." "That man who picked him up is our Mr. X. Cliff, cancel what I told you about those posters. Make different posters asking for any information about a man in Maggie's parking lot wearing a dark suit. He'd stand out there. Truckers aren't high on style. Thank you boys, you may go." "I have a question," Wade said. "Why didn't you say anything about this when we arrested you?" "Nobody asked us. We were the assumed killers." Ryan and Michael left. Kenny pounded his fist on the desk. "Damn! My theory just went out the fucking window." "But at least we have a lead," the Sheriff said. "And a place to start. And more questions. I thought bringing the two of them in here would answer my questions, not create new ones. Okay, get those signs out pronto. In the meantime the four of us are going to take a walk in the woods. From the guard rail where Stephen vomited to the lake where he was found. I think we may have found the murder scene boys."
