We then get up and take a shower. After we are dressed I go make breakfast while David get's Aaron ready. When I have it on the table they come out. David says his temperature is good, just need to ask the questions. So I give Aaron a hug and find out he is good. We then eat breakfast. I walk Aaron to the corner and put him on his bus then walk back home. We watch a little TV before David heads to school then I watch TV alone until it is time to start working. If weekday mornings are going to be this much of a circus, I'm glad I'm off the weekend. At 2pm I walked to the corner to wait for Aaron's bus. When it arrived I walked Aaron back home then we had lunch. After we ate I got back to work and Aaron climbed into my lap. When David got home he gave us a hug then went to the bedroom. When my day was over I made dinner then we sat down and ate. "So how was class?" "Great. It was just the first day but they showed us around the shop and we got our coveralls. I think I'm going to like it." "Good." After we ate we watched TV until Aaron had to get his bath. After I put him to bed I went to our room and David made love to me then I cuddled up to him and went to sleep. The rest of the week went by pretty much the same, except on Wednesday we went out to get my lottery ticket. On Friday I got a call from Stan. After I finished with my caller I took it. He said that the prosecutor wanted me to give a deposition for the case against Aaron's mom. I told him that was fine, but can we do it on the weekend because my supervisor is getting upset about me taking off work. (He isn't. Dan's a cool guy and understands bonded have obligations. But I don't get paid when I'm not working unless I get vacation approved two weeks in advance and none of these have they been telling me that far in advance so I've not been paid for those days. So if I can keep from losing work it would be great.) Stan says he will talk to them but it shouldn't be an issue as it is just the two lawyers and a stenographer that would be present so they should be able to schedule around my needs. He says he will call me back when he gets a time. I then get back to work. At dinner I tell David about the deposition. He's confused as to why I need to give one as it was all done in court so they should have those records. I tell him lawyers don't get paid using court records, they get paid asking questions. He says ok but he wants to be there. I figure that is probably a good idea. David is the holder of my legal rights and this is a legal matter so he probably should be present. After dinner we watch some TV until time to turn in. On Tuesday Stan called back. He told me the deposition was scheduled for this Saturday and gave me a place and time. I told him I'd be there then got back to work. I told David at dinner that night. On Saturday we head over to the courthouse. We find the room number Stan gave me and Stan was there waiting for us. "Sam, glad you made it. Now don't be nervous. This is just a standard preliminary step in the case against Aaron's mom. They are going to ask you some questions. You are under oath so answer truthfully. If you don't understand a question ask to have it clarified. If you still don't understand, talk to me, don't answer a question if you don't understand it." "Ok." When they were ready we went into the room. It wasn't a courtroom. It looked like a conference room with a long table. The lawyers were sitting on one side of the table and Stan took us to the other side and had us sit down. At the head of the table was a lady that was typing on a laptop. One of the lawyers then started to talk to us. "Ok, I'm Drew Peters the prosecutor. This is Darren Turner the lawyer for the defense. Why don't you introduce yourselves?" Stan stood up. "Stan Larson, representing the deponent." "Sam Walker. I guess I'm the deponent." "David Walker and this is my son Aaron Walker." Drew then started. "Ok Sam, we just need to ask a few questions. First I'll put you under oath that you will tell the truth then we will begin." He gave me the oath and I said I do. He looked at David and David said he does for both of us if that is needed. "Sorry David, but yes it is required. Ok Sam, you are a bonded is that correct?" "Yes." "And who is your bonder?" "David Walker." "And is the victim in this case, Aaron Walker, David Walker's son?" "Yes." (All of this was already known. Like I said, they are paid to ask questions.) "So do you have a bonded link to Aaron Walker?" "Yes." "On August 20th of this year you were in court on a custody matter. When Aaron Walker came in, what did your link tell you?" "That Aaron was very hungry and in pain." "Did you know the cause of the pain?" "Not at that time. I found out later." "When did you find out the cause of the pain?" "When I hugged him I found the pain was on his chest. The judge ordered him to lift his shirt and we saw the sores all over it." "And what was the cause of these sores?" "They turned out to be cigarette burns." "How did you find this out." "The judge allowed me to question Aaron and I kept my hand on his shoulder. When I asked him what they were he lied but my link then showed me the truth." "I wasn't aware that was possible." "It is." "How did you find out about the arsenic?" "When I was connected to Aaron he somehow pushed a picture into my head of it. He is the first child I've ever been linked to so I'm not sure if all child/bonded links have this capability, but he did it." "Ok, thank you Sam. That is all my questions, do you have any?" "Sam, do you know of any reason why my client would want to hurt her son?" "I have no idea why, I just know she did." "Thank you. That is all I have." "So we can go now?" "Just a minute. When the stenographer gets the deposition printed I'll need you to look over it and then sign it." She printed it out and I read it over. It was just what we said and was accurate. So I told David he could sign it. After he did we left. On the way home we stopped to get my lottery ticket. To be continued...
