Meeting
No. 128 October 13
"Hi, I'm Lance. I'm an alcoholic."
"Hi, Lance," the group replied.
"I'm getting married."
Everyone in the audience smiled. A few raised a fist in a
silent cheer.
"There are three or four of you here that have been with me
the whole time. You probably remember the idiot who stumbled through his first
share. The idiot who shared too much. The drunk who needed a car wreck to get
his life together.
"Now I am the luckiest man on earth. I found the right
person who accepted me for the numbskull that I am and who loves me as much as
I love him.
"Jakob had to work late tonight. It's his last shift at QT. Yesterday
evening he came to my workplace to meet me. My office has a window. I saw him
pull up. When he got out of the car, I noticed he looked at the street corner.
We typically don't have any homeless people on our corner. I couldn't read the
sign, but a man was standing there, hoping drivers might offer a buck or two. He
may have just needed food. I watched Jakob stare at him. Then he went over and
handed the man a few dollars. When he got back to my building, he stopped. Then
he dug into his wallet and walked back to the man and gave him a twenty. When
he walked back to my building, he stopped again. Then he walked back to the
corner and hugged the man. He slowly walked back to the gym after that. I
didn't realize I had been crying until a tear hit my arm. I wiped my face and
tried to compose myself before he walked in. I became overwhelmed by where the
two of us are and where we came from. I sometimes stand in awe of it.
"Good things do happen to people who stick with the program.
Let me be proof to anyone who questions where your life is going. Stick with
it. Be strong. Drinking won't solve anything, but the right people can.
"There's advice to newcomers to not enter relationships
right away. I get it. The risks could backfire into a relapse. I understand
that. Jakob and I weren't really looking for a relationship. He even resisted
at first. Despite the potential pitfalls, I think we just ... fell in love accidentally.
It was clear we were making each other stronger. He makes me feel strong.
"Thank you."
The group clapped.
"Hi, I'm Branson. I'm an alcoholic."
"Hi, Branson," the group replied.
"Well, I used the insurance money. I have a new car. Well,
that's not true. I have a `new' ..." Branson used in finger quotes "... used car.
It's what I can afford. But I have my license again. I have to admit that work
has gone better. Sober.
"There are times though ... it is
like my body is screaming for the taste of a beer. I've been smart enough to
not have it in the home. My girlfriend finds it strange to not see me with one,
but we are doing much better. We used to argue. I think she was going to break
up with me, but after the wreck, she stayed with me. It was probably only going
to be long enough for me to get better. But then WE got better. I almost feel
optimistic.
"I have a lot of mistakes
to make up for still, but I'm getting there. I know making amends is important.
I think I will attempt to at least make a short visit with family for the
holidays. Hopefully, they will allow me that. The last few have been pretty
ugly. Once I got drunk, that is.
"I've only talked to my parents on
the phone. They seem pleased that I am in this program. I'm sure they are
skeptical. But I think there is hope for us. I do.
"Thank you."
The group clapped.
O and Kaden had now been married a month. She tended to go
home to her family now after meetings. I could understand that, but I did miss
her at our little gatherings after the meeting. At least I saw her there.
No one went out afterward tonight. Cooper wasn't at this
meeting, but we would see him Saturday at the wedding.
A cold front had moved in. We turned on the heat for the
first time. Even with that, the two of us still slept naked. We threw an extra
blanket on the bed.
I put my ear on Jakob's chest. He combed his fingers through
my hair. I liked that. I teased the hair on his chest.
"When should we tell our friends?" I asked.
"I think after the wedding," he answered.
"When we get back, ... that will only be 10 days before we
move."
"I know. But maybe that's better," he said, not sounding
completely convinced.
"Are we sure this move is the right thing?"
"It's fate, angel. It was like destiny was staring us in the
face. Jason asks you to become manager at the gym in Von after ...
what's-her-name ... resigns to raise the baby. My boss wants to open another
store in Von because of the wedding potential there. It's like the universe
aligned. It's more money. We've picked out a house. And we're only an hour away
from our friends. We'll still see them."
"Promise?" I said squeezing him tight.
"We will."
Everything he said was true. I just knew I was leaving
everything in Jackson Bend behind very soon. He was right; opportunities like
this being in sync so rarely happened. It would have been foolish for us not to
accept it. That didn't help my heart from breaking though. I didn't want to
leave Mike and Trent. I didn't want a different AA group.
Jakob and I pulled up to the lake house at about 1 o'clock.
I saw my parents' car there.
Mom met us at the door. She hugged both of us.
"You two look so handsome."
"Thanks, Mom," we both said.
When we walked in, we saw that the couches had been moved
back. There were three rows of five chairs. We knew we planned for it to be
small, but it looked small. The white chairs were draped with gold sash. Pillar
candles were spread across the mantle.
I heard Jakob scream, "Oh my gosh!" Startled, I ran to him.
He was staring over the dining room table.
"What?" I asked.
"Don't you see? This arrangement is what your mother and I
did last Thanksgiving."
"I thought October was fall enough to mark the occasion. I
just added some more candles," she said.
"Mom, I love it," Jakob said, hugging her. "That means
everything to me. You made it perfect."
My mother blushed with my soon-to-be husband gushing over
her efforts. It did look beautiful. It was just a familiar touch to it all.
Dr. Owens and his wife pulled up, parking on the street. Our
two cars had filled the short driveway. Trent had picked up the key yesterday
and helped my parents this morning.
"It all looks lovely," Mrs. Owens said.
I introduced them to my parents. Mom and Dad were very
complimentary of the house. We had contemplated asking Dr. Owens to perform our
ceremony when Zach could not, but he didn't really know us well. I'm glad Dad
sprang for the 75 bucks to be ordained by mail. It meant the world to me that
my father would marry us.
The shuttle pulled up a few minutes before 2. Our small
group was comprised of our closest friends. Mike and Trent came off first, then
Cooper and Mitchell, Tariq and Amanda, Ophelia and Mrs. Morgan and Teresa. Last
to get off was Oliver. He came after all. Mr. Morgan and Keaton did not come.
The shuttle pulled away as there was nowhere to park. It would remain at the
Lakeside Restaurant until called. Everyone mingled a moment. Mom started
lighting the candles. We were in no hurry, so it was okay that the time went a
little past 2 o'clock. But soon the moment was there, and we encouraged
everyone to take a seat. Mike and Trent were on the front row along with my
mother in the center. Mrs. Morgan sat next to her, with Teresa completing the
row. Ophelia was on the second row. Cooper and Mitch sat next to her. The two
chairs behind Mrs. Morgan and Teresa were for Jakob's father and brother, but
they remained empty. Tariq and Amanda were on the back row next to Dr. Owens and
his wife. My brother Oliver was in the last seat. Just as Dad started to stand
to begin the proceedings, the front door opened. Keaton walked in, nervously
expecting to be interrupting things. His sister motioned him over. He mouthed
the words, "I'm sorry." Jakob smiled at seeing him.
The room had the fragrance of vanilla by now, our nod to
Mike.
We had been standing in the back, looking at each other and
glancing out the back window at the lake. The trees were glorious. Color had
taken hold of many of them.
Dad asked everyone to stand. Evan stood at the back and
pressed a remote, and music began playing from the background. I wasn't sure
where. He and Jakob had worked it out at some point. The music was nice, but I
couldn't pinpoint the melody. It just seemed appropriate for a wedding.
Tariq had a nice camera, so he would occasionally rise to
take pictures once everyone had been seated. Being on the back row, he wouldn't
disturb the ceremony. Amanda and Trent took several on their phone. At least I
thought they did. My mind was scattered in the moment. I wanted to pay
attention and not screw things up.
More than anything else, I just looked at Jakob. Dad had
asked us to join hands, and then he started saying things to those in
attendance. I couldn't begin to remember what any of it was. I just looked at
Jakob, and my brain and heart exploded. I had been happy all along, but I
didn't believe anyone could feel this happy. It was weird. And magical.
And surreal. And it was happening to me.
Jakob looked so handsome in his tux. His beard was trimmed
so professionally. He was just adorable. I was lost in his eyes. Since our
college days, I had considered Trent to be my soulmate for life. I could tell
him anything, bare my soul to him. Knowing that, I knew it didn't prevent me
from loving Jakob. Now, mesmerized by the man I was marrying, I realized no
person is limited to a single soulmate. Jakob was everything Trent was. All
this analysis set sparklers off in my head. I was going to spend the rest of my
life legally with this man. The sparklers ignited happiness skyrockets.
I needed to pay attention to Dad.
He was telling the audience how important they were and the
role they played not only in our lives but also as witnesses of the commitments
we were making to each other. At least, I thought that was what he said.
Dad had both mothers stand. He spoke about a mother's love
and how the two of us have allowed that love to grow. I think. I got lost
looking at Jakob again.
Both our mothers stepped forward with a ring box. They
handed them to Dad and then hugged each of us. Jakob's Mom kissed each of us on
the cheek.
We let go of our hands and turned toward Dad. I tried hard
to focus. It was all still mystically surreal.
"Lance and Jakob, I have watched the two of you this past
year. I completely believe deep in my heart that the two of you were destined
to be together and bring each other happiness. You make the other the best
version of that man that can possibly be. And I know you always will."
We smiled at Dad. My eyes watered a second. I blinked it
away.
"Both Jakob and Lance have written their own vows," Dad told
the audience. "Lance, you go first."
"I do." I soon realized that was the wrong time. "I mean ..."
I rolled my eyes and started over.
"Jakob, I've never felt deserving of the love you have shown
me. You truly bring out the best in me. You make me feel safe. You are my rock,
you are my support, you are my life. I promise to love you every single day of
our lives. I promise to do that forever and ever. If you can forgive me when I
fail and have patience when I stumble, I will be there for you and try my
hardest to make you as happy as you make me. I promise to always be there for
you."
"Jakob," Dad said.
"Lance, from the beginning, I have felt you were an angel
from heaven. God sent you to me. It is through your love that I have the life
that has brought me joy and friendship and love. When you are afraid, I will be
there to hold your hand. When you are sick, I will be there to bring you soup.
When you feel you fall short, I will be there to place my ear on your chest and
tell you your heart is strong. I promise you that I will never stop thinking of
you as an angel, and I will love you and adore you forever."
I heard a sniff from the audience. I knew it was Mom, but
kind of wondered if it was Mike.
Dad handed me a box. I opened it and took out the gold band.
Dad set the box to the side.
"These rings will be symbols for your commitment to each
other. Just as circles are without end, so will be your love and devotion for
each other. Lance, do you take Jakob to be your husband, for richer or poorer,
in sickness or in health, to love for as long as you both live?"
"I do," I said with a smile.
My hand shook a little as I put the ring on his finger.
Dad handed the other ring to Jakob.
"Jakob ..."
"With a K," several people in the audience said.
Jakob looked out and saw several smiles. He winked at them.
I assumed Dad had been let in on the moment.
"... do you take Lance to be your husband, for richer or
poorer, in sickness or in health, to love for as long as you both shall live?"
"I absolutely do."
He put the ring on my finger.
"By the power given to me by a mail-in form and $75, I know
pronounce you officially married. You may kiss your husband."
We did. It was a long kiss. It wasn't showy. It was tender
and affectionate. Eventually our lips parted, and the small group of family and
friends applauded. I looked into the audience. I first took notice of Mr.
Morgan's empty chair. I momentarily felt bad for Jakob, but then noticed the
many happy faces for us. Oliver and Keaton looked more bewildered than anything
else but mildly supportive in their applause.
Trent and I locked eyes. I wondered what happened to those
two college kids who fumbled at trying to discover who they were. How did we
become these two confident gay men who got married! in such a short time?
It's like we were two different adults but at the same time the exact people we
always were. He gave me a wink. It told me a thousand things.
O gave me a wink too. That meant something different
entirely, but it was still the love of a friend.
Both of us turned back to Dad and I gave him a bear hug. So
did Jakob.
Evan started two songs playing: Cyndi Lauper's "Time After
Time" and Phil Collin's "True Colors." I had selected them.
People milled around and most of them came up to hug us. I
knew the ceremony was simple, but they told us it was beautiful. Mrs. Morgan
and Teresa gave us big hugs.
"I'm sorry that your father didn't come," his mother said.
"It's okay. You came. I'm happy to see family here."
The music ended.
"If I can have everyone's attention a moment," I called out.
"Jakob and I opted to have a small wedding. I would just like to thank each of
you for coming. Your presence here is special because you are special. We
wanted you to be a part of our day. It's more meaningful because of wonderful
people like you are here to support us. We are so grateful you are in our
lives. Thank you."
They smiled.
"That's not all though," Trent said back. He pointed to the
television and turned it on. He quickly went through a menu and pulled up a
video that had been placed on an inserted flash drive.
"Jakob, we are so happy for you and Lance. All of us here at
QT wish you the best. We've seen you grow so much over the past months. We love
you."
Jakob got a weepy smile seeing his old crew at QT.
"Lance! Congratulations, dude!" said John. Then numerous
members of the basketball team shared wishes. There were several in the
compilation. Tariq was the last player to add something. He smiled at me when I
saw him come up on screen. Then the camera moved from him to the coach.
"Lance, I am very happy for you. Thanks for all you did for
the university when you were here. I'm proud of you and very excited for your
new life."
"Wow," I softly said.
"Jakob and Lance, congratulations!" Anson said on the next
segment.
"Oh, my gosh! How did ...?" Jakob said in utter surprise.
"You guys are like role models. I hope I can come visit
again. Jakob, I'm so glad we reconnected."
Anson's parents came on after that with warm wishes, and
Jakob broke down. He cried seeing them and hearing their voices. They showered
him with praise as the wonderful boy they knew many years ago, knowing he would
be a wonderful man going forward.
"Hey Jakob, it's me Gerard. Look at you! I am so proud of
where you are in your life and how far you've come. I'm thrilled for you and
Lance. All of us here are happy for you." Jakob smiled at seeing old
acquaintances from the shelter.
"Lance, I am so sorry I was committed to be away this
weekend." It was Zach. "I would have loved to have performed the ceremony. I'm
sure your father was fantastic. Please know I am very happy for you.
Congratulations to you both."
It was followed by my other old roommate, Cole. I hadn't
seen him since graduation. Then the television went black. Trent had done a
great job. It was obvious that Tariq helped him gather team members. Trent
showed me a basket with a handful of cards and gifts from some of the people in
the video.
"That was amazing, buddy," I told Trent, giving him a big
hug.
"How on earth did you get Anson?" Jakob asked. "You two
haven't even met."
"Your sister helped on that one."
Our siblings walked up.
"So, how freaked out are you?" I asked Oliver.
"Eh, I'm in my 30s. I'm old. Does anyone freak out over
things anymore?" he said. "Seriously, I'm thrilled for you guys. You look so
happy."
We never hug, but I hugged him.
"Keaton?" Jakob said. "I'm glad you came. I'm happy you are
here."
"Oh. Thanks. I'm sorry I was late. I ... I am still not ...
great ... with the whole guy-guy thing, but ..." He stopped and stared at both of
us. "You two are the happiest people I know. How can I not feel good about
that? I'm learning to let people live their own lives. And even though I am ...
can be ... you know, you have still included me. So thank you. It was a pleasure
to be here. I'm really sorry Dad missed it."
Keaton looked directly at me. "Lance, I'm afraid our family
doesn't look good in your eyes. I wish we did, but you have probably formed
your opinion by now. Whatever issues I wrestle with ... please know I think you
are a very good man. A great man. Jakob has chosen well."
"We chose each other," I smiled.
"But more to the point ... our family was fractured. I never
thought it would be healed. It may never be. But ... but you brought my brother
back to us ... to me. I don't think you will ever fully comprehend my
appreciation for that."
He hugged me. It was not casual. It was a hug that spoke
volumes with no words. I understood.
Keaton let me go and then he held Jakob. They both squeezed
their eyes closed and held each other for what seemed infinity. Across the
room, Mrs. Morgan and Teresa looked on with huge smiles. I was heartened by the
familial moment.
Trent, Mike and Tariq took a few minutes to snap some
photos. We didn't take a lot, but just a few to help remember the day.
A truck pulled up. In came food catered from the Lakeside
Restaurant. We spread it about the kitchen. Mrs. Owens took care of plates. We
had no alcohol. We thought it best, and Trent was in full agreement. He felt
less than half the attendees would have had any.
I sat next to Mrs. Morgan with a small plate of tasty
appetizers.
"I say prayers each night, Lance," she said, when she felt
the two of us had a quiet, private moment. "For several months I have thanked
God for you entering my son's life. I will be eternally grateful for you
bringing him back to me."
"I'm very happy your family has reconnected."
"My husband is a stubborn man. He has been so set in his
ways. To him, standing on one's principles is more important than the
well-being of our own son. I never forgave myself after we asked Jakob to
leave. At the time, I assumed we would quickly see him return home." She dabbed
her eye with her napkin. "But we really didn't offer him a way to do that. We
wanted him to be someone else. I missed him so much. Not a day went by that I
didn't worry about him. In some ways, that burden aged me. As the years went
on, the not knowing ate at my core. It was hard for me to find happiness in
anything. I prayed and prayed to find my son again."
I felt I shouldn't interject. I just let her talk.
"Thank you, Lance. You saved my boy," she said grasping my
hand after setting down her plate.
"And he saved me."
"Not only do I have my son back, I
have another one. I'm proud that you are my son-in-law."
I knew this was completely an inappropriate time to ask
about her acceptance of gay people. Maybe one day that conversation would
happen, maybe not. Although I didn't know her as well as my own parents, I had
come to enjoy Mrs. Morgan's company and her kindness.
Although we didn't have a long conversation, I knew this
moment between the two of us would be a significant one among my memories.
We didn't have a traditional wedding cake; the size of the
group was too small for that. Jakob's boss, Marshal, took care of that for us.
It was fun. One side was a traditional white cake, the other side chocolate. As
simple as the cake was, there was still a flair of whimsey to it. Two men in a
car that said "Just Married" was placed in the center of the cake. There were
still decorative touches along the edges. It was pretty if not elegant.
Jakob and I finally had a chance to be together again after
so much visiting with the people in the room. We each got a piece of cake,
making sure to get one from each side so we could share. As I shoveled a bit of
chocolate into my mouth, Cooper walked up.
"I just want you to know that I'm not sure I would have made
it this past year without you two," he said.
Jakob wiped a bit of frosting from the corner of my mouth
while he replied. "Why would you say that, Cooper?
You're strong. You have Mitchell."
"I do. But ... he isn't in AA. You guys get it. Starting over
again in my 30s ... Mitchell is my guide into the gay world, but you two ... you
were my lighthouse. I think we all get a temptation to drink now and then. I
kept my son at the forefront if any temptation arose, but I knew I had you
guys. Your support all this time has been great. I appreciate you. I am so
happy for both of you."
After such kind words, I felt a slight twinge of guilt for
leaving Cooper in a few weeks. Moving away was going to kill me.
"I had a lot to make up for," Cooper continued. "When I
started AA, I knew I had a lot to fix. Alcohol messed so many things up." He
looked at us earnestly. "But if there was one silver lining to it, meeting you
two would be it. I'm so blessed to know you. I'm very happy for you."
We smiled at him as Ophelia walked up. "I didn't hear all of
that, but I echo what he said at the end. You boys will always be special to
me. I love you both."
The four of us hugged.
People mingled and laughed and smiled for about 90 minutes. In
some ways, this was more special than the ceremony itself. Much like Trent's
Friendsgiving, being surrounded by people who care about you and each other
is priceless. I would spontaneously get overwhelmed for a second when all the
feelings swarmed me. I didn't think the happiness of the day ever subsided.
Eventually, the shuttle was scheduled to take our guests back to their cars.
Mike and Trent had made a reservation at the Lakeside
Restaurant for the two us at 8 o'clock. They said the bill was already taken
care of. They gave incredibly strong hugs that lasted for a long time. They
told us they loved us. Once they boarded the shuttle, it departed.
The Owens helped with the dishes. Before they left, Jakob
and I talked to them and graciously thanked them for providing the setting.
Mom and Dad were the last. We moved the couches back and
collapsed the chairs. We took a moment to sit and relax.
"So. How do you feel?" Mom asked.
"A tiny bit exhausted, but really overjoyed," I said. "You?"
I asked, looking at Jakob.
"A little overwhelmed, but really, really happy. Thank you
for welcoming me into your family."
"Jakob, I've never seen anyone or
anything make my son happier than you. I am so proud that you are like a
son to me now. We love you, and we are your family."
Jakob curled into me.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind changing," I said.
"Then why don't we head out and let you two have the rest of
the evening to yourself," Mom said.
"When do you get to Colorado?" Dad asked.
"We are hoping to make it before nightfall tomorrow, but it
could be shortly after that," said Jakob. "Trent and Mike are coming in the
morning to clean up and get the house ready again after we leave. We hope to
take off before 9. We are all packed. It's a day's worth of driving."
"Thanks for everything, Dad," I said, kissing him on the
cheek. I had never done that. Jakob did too, and we did the same for Mom. We
waved from the door as they pulled out of the driveway.
Our tuxedos were neatly hung, and we plopped down on the bed
in our underwear and socks. We held each other.
"If we're not careful, we may doze off," I said.
"If so, we've earned it." Jakob stared at the ceiling.
"Lance, do you ..." He stopped.
"What?"
"Do you feel married?"
"I guess so. I'm not sure what other people feel." I grabbed
his hand. "I just know that we are together forever and it's official, and I am
so happy to spend my life with you. We have a license documenting that we are. So,
even if I may not feel like I'm married, I know that I'm married.
And it's great."
We kissed for a couple of minutes.
Elaine was there. She was our server again. I'm sure Trent
set that up. She enjoyed seeing us once more and was thrilled with our news.
When our appetizer arrived, Elaine brought over a bottle of
champagne. We were just about to tell her we couldn't accept when she noted it
was nonalcoholic cider. The cork was popped, and she poured us each a glass. We
took a sip and leaned over the table for a peck on the lips.
"Do you remember telling me after the meeting Wednesday
night when Branson said his body craved the taste of a beer," Jakob said. "Do
you ever get that way?"
"On occasion. Like, as we drink this faux champagne, a
little bit of me worries that I will want to taste it some more. But
thankfully, I have associated the taste of beer with the image of Dad picking
me up in the hospital. That mental trick helps a lot. I think nonalcoholic beer
would be more of a trigger than this."
"Hmm. I think that is clever."
"And you?" I asked.
"This tastes nice. But thankfully it doesn't make me want
more. But like you, I think we should be cautious. Most temptations are pretty
quickly followed by images of me being drunk. I hate thinking of myself that
way. It gives me the shivers when I remember myself at my worst."
"Amen. But look at us now, we're at our best."
"Indeed. Thanks to each other," he said.
It was cool outside, but nowhere near cold enough to start a
fire. It was only October. We did light the wedding candles again. The both of
us sat in the glow of the living room admiring their light.
I got up and found the remote to the sound system. I started
the two songs by Phil Collins and Cyndi Lauper.
Although being dressed in PRIDE shirts and pajamas was
fairly unflattering, I reached out for Jakob's hand. He looked confused, but I
pulled him up off the couch and pulled him close to me. As the lyrics of the
songs played, I began to slow dance with him. Our bodies were pressed together
as we gently swayed. I wished I could sing because I would have sang the lyrics
to him. Jakob had a nice voice, so he softly sang the meaningful words; I
kissed his neck. Then I kissed his lips with my hand behind his head. His arms
held me tightly as we slowly stepped in place. The candlelight illuminated our area
rug dancefloor.
After the songs ended, we turned off everything and blew out
the candles. I added a blanket to the bed as it was slightly cool in the bedroom.
Furnishings took up most of the room, but we had our suitcase placed on a
luggage rack within the closet. We grabbed our toothbrushes. There was only one
sink, so we took turns. After finishing up in the bathroom, we crawled into the
sheets and found each other's arms.
"You know, if it wasn't so cool outside, I bet you would
want to try Mike and Trent's stunt in the rocking chair, wouldn't you?" Jakob
teased.
"Um, possibly." I hadn't actually thought about it, but he
was right. Had it been a summer evening, I probably would have. We were young
and adventurous ... enough. If older people were any indication, I expected
sexual hijinks to curtail in later years of marriage. I hoped the two of us would
always keep intimacy fun.
I reached down and felt his dick. He wasn't hard yet. I
continued to grope as my tongue played with his. I could feel his penis start
to stiffen. Mine was a lead pipe. His hand reached down and found it. I groaned
as he pulled on it.
"It's our wedding night," he mentioned.
"Um hm. What would you like, my husband?"
"Can I fuck you?"
"I'd be up for that," I said. "In a little while."
And we kissed for a long time. We eventually pressed our
bodies together. I felt Jakob press his hard spike into my torso and rub it up
and down. I liked feeling his erection pressed into me. The head of my cock
poked his crevice.
I didn't know Jakob was prepared. He had a towel and the
lube close at hand. Moonlight through the window gave him just enough
illumination to drip slick lubrication on his fingers. I lit a candle next to
my side. I had moved a towel in place, and as I rested my body in the center of
the bed, I felt a finger enter my hole. I breathed in and cooed at the probe.
Two fingers felt better. Jakob stimulated me from within. I groaned.
"Fuck me, babe. Fuck your husband."
He made his iron spike slippery and positioned his cock at
my hole as I spread my legs for him. He entered me in a smooth, gliding motion.
I exhaled in pleasure. He was inside me. His wonderful cock stimulated me from
within. His dick forged inside me with comfortable ease. It was all mine. He
was all mine.
A wedding night could have been soft and tender. In the lake
house, we had the place to ourselves. We could be loud. And we were.
As Jakob thrust his hips, one hand held
my leg up, the other groped my engorged rod. I ran my fingers through his chest
hair as we gyrated and pulsated together. I moaned as he worked in and out of
my ass. Jakob's groans filled the room. I knew his dick was throbbing inside
me.
"Lance. Angel. Mmmm," he said more as moan than words. "Oh
yeah. I feel so good in you, angel."
We fucked another minute, then stopped. Jakob pulled his
cock from me.
"Oh, I'm too close. I don't want to come yet."
He pulled my ankles far apart and plunged his mouth over my
flesh. He sucked me with vigor, moving his stretched mouth around my length and
girth. I felt so hard surrounded by his warmth. My moans conveyed I enjoyed his
oral service. My fingers ran through his hair as his head bobbed over my
crotch.
"Suck me, Jakob. Suck me, honey."
He let go of my leg with one of his hands and began jerking
my cock while sucking at the same time. I called out in pleasure. His tongue
moved all over my stiffened skin. It felt good. It darted over my piss slit
like a viper. Jakob was good at oral sex. Jakob was simply good at sex period.
"Fuck me again, baby."
He lifted his mouth from my cock. He momentarily suckled my
balls with sexual finesse. His tongue traced their contour. They bobbed in his
oral playfulness.
Then he repositioned and plunged his tool within me again.
It moved in and out in a pleasurable rhythm. I gripped my erection as he fucked
me with force and volume. It didn't take long before I was calling out. He
echoed my yearning cries.
"Jakob! Baby! Yeah, fuck me just like that. God, you feel
good inside me. Fuck me!"
He didn't reply with words; he just grunted in his forceful
pleasure. Even with the coolness of the evening, there was a glistening shine
to his neck. His hairline seemed moist. I found him so desirable in his
passionate lust. It was lovemaking that anyone could hope for on a wedding
night. We fucked for a few minutes. A drop of perspiration ran down his nose.
It paused at the tip. He groaned loudly again, causing the droplet to leap,
landing on my chest near my nipple. He somehow became more forceful, and my
stroking became harder. We were both calling each other's names as our sex
surpassed another level of intensity. It was if every single cell in our bodies
was throbbing and tingling.
"Oh. Oh. Ohhhhhh. Jakob, fuck me, baby."
"I'm close, angel."
I wanted to come with him. I jerked my cock with all my
strength.
We screamed together as we approached our orgasm.
"Lance. Lance. Lance! Angel! I'm coming."
His crotch rammed my hole. I knew he was shooting his cum
inside me. I knew my channel was being saturated.
"Yeah, baby. Come inside your husband. Oh yeah. Yes! Ungh.
Oh yeah."
A spurt of my thick liquid shot up my chest. A second stream
exploded from my red cock. We continued to howl as our male flesh erupted from
our efforts of mutual passion. We pushed and pulled and yanked and shoved and
yelled.
He stopped moving and held my leg for support. I leaned my
head back on a pillow to catch my breath.
"Fuck yeah," I said.
He removed his cock from my body and moved up to place his
head next to mine.
"I love you," we said at the same time.
We were quiet.
I felt a finger dip into the cum on my chest.
"What am I spelling?" he asked.
I focused on the letters he was writing through the sticky,
gooey, masculine medium.
"MARRIED."
I awoke as I felt my balls being fondled. I slightly hummed,
and then one finger began tracing the outline of my dick. I rolled over and
held my husband in my arms.
"Good morning," he said.
"What time is it?"
"About 7:45."
"I guess we should get up and shower. The boys will be here
soon."
A few minutes later, we both got into the small shower. It
wasn't as easy to navigate as in our bathroom at home, but we made it work.
"Is it silly of me to say, `This is the first shower we've
taken as a married couple'? How long can I do that kind of thing?" I asked.
"If it amuses you, don't worry about it. It's sweet," he
said.
"So are you," I said as I gave him a quick kiss.
Being naked with Jakob always makes me hard, but we didn't
pursue anything. We knew we needed to get moving. We dried off and placed our
towels on the counter.
Mike and Trent arrived with breakfast at 8:15.
"You guys are really the best friends," Jakob said.
"Happy to do it," said Mike.
We sat at the table and enjoyed breakfast burritos and some
fresh fruit they picked up on the way. We had coffee ready.
I thanked Trent again for everything from yesterday. The
videos were really a wonderful surprise. He was pleased we enjoyed it. They
showed me a few pics on their phones that they thought turned out well. We'd
gather all that when we got home.
Jakob asked how Trent's new play was going. Trent said he
was more than halfway through. Mike complimented him that it was very good so
far.
We ate fairly quickly and went in to brush our teeth. We
carried our luggage to the door.
"I feel really bad. This was so short. And we are just
leaving you with work to take care of here," said Jakob.
"Nonsense," Mike said. "We're happy to do it for you. You
guys have a long drive. You should get going."
"I will pack up the decorations to give back to Lance's mom.
We'll take care of the bedroom laundry. I'll return your tuxes. I've got all
the electrical equipment and chair rentals taken care of too," said Trent.
"It's all in hand. Marshal has the address to come by and pick up the candles
and other stuff to take back to the store. You guys are in good shape."
The two of them nudged us to the door.
"We'd have sex before doing the sheets, but knowing our
luck, the Owens would walk in," Trent teased.
"Then I dare you," I said, going in for a hug.
"Love you guys," Trent said.
"We love you too."
Mike whispered into Jakob's ear, "Be safe, Jakey Bear." I
still could hear it but didn't voice any criticism.
We loaded the car and were off for a very long drive.
I took the first shift driving. We had hours of music
prepared, so that wasn't a problem. Jakob often sang along. I wished I could
sing, but I enjoyed listening to him. Not everyone is comfortable singing in
front of others. Jakob seemed great about doing anything in front of me or with
me. I was glad he felt that way. I listened to my coworkers. They often spoke
of not being able to do certain things around their spouses or significant
others. It made me further appreciate the relationship I had with Jakob. With
my husband.
Thinking about work was a dagger in my chest. The new
opportunity in Von would be good, but I had learned all the members' names at
home; I got to know several of them. I would miss them. I would hate to say
goodbye to the staff as well.
After three hours, we found a place that looked suitable for
lunch. It was simple. Chicken sandwiches and fries.
"Is it okay if you drive a while, my little lamb? My leg is
still a bit stiff," I requested.
He agreed. He had been behind the wheel for almost an hour
when I realized he hadn't said anything or sang anything.
"You've gotten quiet. Are you okay?"
"Hm? Yeah. I'm fine."
"Sounds like something is on your mind. Anything you want to
talk about?"
"Oh. It's nothing."
"We have hours ahead of us. Share."
"When we got in the car, you called me a little lamb. It
made me think of something two years ago. I was at the apartment with all my
roommates and two of their friends. They were usually fairly nice at
least. Until the beer started. When we drank, one guy could be a real ass. We
had been drinking. He wanted to fool around with me. After we fucked, he kind
of pushed me out of the way. I think he wanted to sit on the couch and watch
the TV. He said, `Move out of the way, you little sheep.' It was the way I was
treated there. Did what I was told, herded wherever they wanted me. I just got
to thinking about that. How different things are now."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean for anything to hurt you."
"You didn't. My mind just started wandering. Connecting
dots. Going from one memory to the next."
"I still don't know how you put up with all that."
"Well, eventually I said I had had enough. That's when I
moved out to ... nowhere. It was all so dark and miserable. The shelter saved me.
Then AA saved me. Then you saved me."
I didn't know what to say. I reached over to hold his hand.
"We saved each other."
"We did."
"I need a pet name for you. Lambs are out. Jakey is vetoed.
You call me angel all the time. I just have babe. What conveys
that you are the most wonderful person in my life?"
"Your actions. I can make a suggestion though."
"Hit me," I said.
"It's ridiculous."
"Try me."
"Hub."
"HUB???!" I said, sounding totally baffled.
"I've heard people call their husbands their hubby my
whole life. Usually straight, but occasionally gay. I always thought it was
adorable. Hubby. Since it is a term of endearment, hub for short makes me feel
special."
"Okay. If you say so."
"I told you it was ridiculous."
This was a bit of a different side of Jakob than I had seen
before. We had been married one whole day and I saw a darker edge already.
There are so many things he went through. It could have been slightly
unsettling, but I liked knowing there were new things to discover about each
other. As long as we loved each other, all was good.
Night had fallen just as we pulled the luggage out of the
trunk. Both of us were tired. Even though we had just been sitting, it was
tiring, particularly on the legs.
Our room was beautiful. It had a forested motif pine,
bears, snow. The bed was covered with a hand-stitched quilt. The furniture was
all made of rough wood. The bathroom had similar dιcor, but the fixtures were
all very modern. We had both a shower and a big bathtub.
We had packed suitable clothing for the cold. I asked if we
could go for a walk. Jakob pointed out a couple things he remembered, but in
the dark, things weren't exactly the way he recalled as a child. Ten minutes
into our walk, the smallest of snowflakes began to fall.
"Wow. Snow in October," I said.
"It's light snow. "
"I still like it. I've always enjoyed watching snow fall."
"Me too."
We had gloves on, but we still held hands. Two other couples
were out walking. They both nodded and smiled, not really making any notice of
two men holding hands.
As we got back to our room, we both audibly shivered as we
took off our coats.
"How does a hot bubble bath sound?" Jakob said.
"It sounds awesome. And romantic. But I doubt if we can find
bubble bath at this time of night."
He pulled out a bottle from his suitcase.
I smiled at him. "Have I told you you're perfect?"
Within 15 minutes, the two of us were lowering our naked bodies
in a tub full of foam. The crackle of popping bubbles filled our ears upon our
entrance. He moved his body up against mine. I wrapped my arms around him. My
sudsy hands ran through his chest hair, making it even sexier. I kissed him on
the neck and whispered, "I love you," in his ear. He took one of my hands and
moved it down to feel his crotch. He had a hard spike.
"I love that, too," I said.
Jakob had lit a candle on the counter as the water had been
running. We sat like that in the dark for a very long moment. My hand didn't
stroke his penis, I just held it. I would move my grip ever so slightly on
occasion just to let him know he was being felt. He was sure to feel my hard-on
poking him in the butt.
Several minutes of quietness was soothing after the long
drive. The water had lost some of its heat, so he leaned forward to run some
more hot water. He repositioned his body at the far end of the tub to face me. Our
legs overlapped. He looked at my face, smiling as his eyes looked into mine so
intently as if to see through them and peer into my soul.
"Never in a million years," he said.
"What's that," I said.
"When that guy called me a sheep and pushed me out of the
way ... and we were all sitting around either buzzed or drunk ... I could never
have pictured this moment in a million years. I did dream of a day of being
away from them. But that was my dream away. Not being in love, not having an
enjoyable life just away. You really are an angel from heaven, Lance
Wheeling."
We leaned forward and kissed in the middle. "Tell those
words to Trent," I said in the middle of the kiss. "He'll make it into our song
for the play."
Our hands fondled the other's genitals. We did so until they
both got hard again. My other hand reached around his neck to hold it as we kissed.
He did the same. We pulled on our erections below the suds. We kissed for
several minutes. Our lips pressed together, we would occasionally pull them
apart enough to say, "I love you." Probably several times. Or a thousand.
"Let's climb into bed," I said.
We dried ourselves thoroughly and carried the candle to the
bedroom.
I had Jakob lie on his chest, and my hands massaged his
body. The chill of the room had been chased away by the heater next to the bed.
He moaned as I rubbed his shoulders and the middle of his back. I dug in around
his shoulder blades and pressed in circles. My dick was hard and gently poked
one of his butt cheeks. I briefly covered his body with mine, placing my full
weight on his. He moaned in acceptance.
I moved down, spread his legs open and then gripped his ass
cheeks. I gently blew my breath into his crevice. I extended my tongue and let
it explore his hole. I buried my face into his ass, rimming his passage as
deeply as my tongue could probe. He moaned. I continued to do so while
momentarily fingering his hole with my middle finger. I removed my tongue
completely and let my finger enter all the way.
Jakob called out. "Fuck me, angel," he requested. "Please."
I did. We knew with the window and another room on the other
side of the wall we shouldn't be too loud. We did our best. My sword impaled
his channel for several minutes. We moaned to each other as our hips writhed. I
had my arms underneath his chest, and I was turned on by the feel of his hair.
My hips thrust my stiff flesh into him, feeling like the hard wooded timber
growing outside the room. My breathing was heavy right at his ear. I could hear
him moan with each thrust of my crotch. I felt too close to coming and pulled
out.
Jakob rolled over on the towel. My mouth descended on his
dick and sucked it, getting him hard again. I loved his cock in my mouth. I
loved consuming it, devouring it, engulfing it. Jakob's erection was an
incredibly comfortable fit.
I reached for the lube and slicked my rod again. Spreading
his legs, I pushed my cock into him for Act II. With this position, I could
stare him in the face now. He held his legs, and I rested on my elbows. I
pushed into him. My lubricated shaft flowed in and out. Our gaze was so
intense. It seemed to illustrate our love in a thousand colors and a million
words all with just a look. The thrusting of my manhood inside him made us
audible again. I fucked harder. Breathing became panting. Moaning became cries
of ecstasy. The masculine love between us sent us into a testosterone
overdrive. We were probably louder than we should have been, but ... fuck it ... it
was our honeymoon.
I pushed harder and groaned harder. It felt good inside him.
His breathing became elevated as he stroked his own dick. His arm was alongside
mine, holding my shoulder.
My breathing was heavier. It was ragged. Jakob knew I was
close. He moved his hands down to my ass and gripped my cheeks tightly. As I
shoved my cock into him, he pushed it in even more forcefully. He cried out in
glorious delight.
"I'm there, baby," I told him.
He squeezed my ass.
"Ungh!" I called out as I felt the first shot of my cum fire
into him. I repeated the groan over and over, each time my cock spasmed my
liquid inside the man I loved. My husband. The most important man in the world.
I leaned down to kiss him. "I love you. I love you so much.
Come for me. Come for your husband."
His hand jerked harder. His breathing increased.
"I'm close to coming, angel. I'm close."
My cock pulled out of him, and I moved down his body. My
mouth encased the head of his erection. I felt his dick spray the first blast
of his orgasm. Wave after wave ejaculated into my throat. My lust was still so
enflamed I took all of it. He stopped moaning, and I knew his phallus had
ceased sending cum to celebrate our evening. My tongue journeyed from the base
of his cock to the tender head.
I kissed him again. His tongue intermingled with mine as we
shared our passion.
"That was heaven," he said.
"I think so too. I love you, hub."
I wakened before Jakob. My hand was on his shoulder, but I
moved the back of my fingers to caress his face. My fingertips floated above
his cheek until my thumb found the hair growing just aside his ear. Were that
all it was, it would have been sideburns, but my forefinger traced it to his
chin. As my thumb undulated back and forth like a metronome on his trimmed
beard, he slowly stirred.
"m-s'time-`sit?"
"8:30."
"Mmmm." He rolled toward me and buried his head into my
neck. My hand lightly played with his chest hair. We weren't in a hurry to do
anything. I simply basked in the warmth of his skin and the knowledge that I
had to keep reminding myself we were married.
He found my genitals. While finding me hard, Jakob didn't
start anything sensual or sexual. It just felt ... intimate. A shared touch. We
could have pawed each other and worked up another lovemaking session, but we
didn't. His stomach rumbled, so we giggled and discuss breakfast options.
I had texted Trent to let him know we arrived safely before Jakob and I climbed into the bubble bath last night. He
texted back this morning with a thumbs up before we went out for a morning
walk. There was a dusting of snow, but nothing that really counted as
accumulation. A few flakes were still falling as we took a selfie. We sent it
to the guys as well as Jakob's family. Everyone was happy we seemed to be
enjoying the honeymoon. My parents sent a long text, excited that we shared the
moment with them.
We had three days here to relax, explore, indulge ourselves
and be in love.
