"I must get my shoes from your room before I leave." He said. "I don't want to intrude on yours or your son's evening." "Actually we were hoping that you would come out to dinner with us." "Really?" He said. "Well, on one condition. I chose the restaurant and -- I pay for us! You have more than shown your hospitality." "That was two conditions!" I said. "But I accept!" "If you had not, it would have been an insult -- and I don't think you want to go about insulting Iranians." I impishly kissed his fingertips. He held my hands tightly and looked deeply into my eyes. The spell was broken as Ronny came out. "I can't fin -- oh! Sorry -- oh! There they are!" He picked up his shoes and almost ran from the room. "I can tell we will have to be very careful in front of your boy." Chapter 5 "How much time do you have?" asked Mo. "We don't have a time table -- so it doesn't matter." I said. "Then I want to take you to Fat's in Folsom. Have you been there?" "No, but I have been to the one in Roseville. It's very nice!" I said. I was pretty sure that Ronny had never been to Fat's. Deena and I only dined there a very few times for very special occasions. I suggested that we dive separately so Mo would not have to drive all the way back up to our home after dinner. "I don't mind the drive. Shall we all go in your Avalanche?" Mo insisted on ordering rock shrimp cakes for an appetizer. Then he ordered first, as is customary for a host, to indicate to the guests what price range they should stay under. I was learning more and more about this mysterious man. He ordered the most expensive entr้e on the menu and insisted -- if we liked filet mignon -- that we order the same. I told him that I am partial to prawns and so ordered the honey-walnut prawns. I actually am even more partial to pork, but I also know of Muslims' distaste for that meat. Ronny is a steak freak, so he took Mo's suggestion. The conversation went toward horses and how beautiful he thought our home and acreage is. He gave Ronny some good pointers on training Hero, and he also offered help to both of us on training dogs, "Unless of course you are satisfied with your dogs' behavior. They are delightful and I am so glad that they -- and Stan -- have decided to get along!" "And by the way, my friend, I couldn't help noticing you eying the pork on the menu. You would have been welcome to order whatever you pleased." "But since they served family style, I thought - " "I am not such a traditionalist to forbid anyone what they want. I usually do not eat pork or anything from the swine, but mostly because I was brought up that way. I realize many here eat it. Even some of the less strict Jews! You will recall that Jesus sent many evil spirits into the bodies of a herd of swine, and they went mad and cast themselves into the sea. I suspect that showed his regard for swine." "You know about Jesus?" asked Ronny. "Of course. We know and revere him -- as a great prophet, second only to Muhammad." I was slightly worried that Ronny might take the conversation further -- like into the fact that many of Muhammad's writings are violent and suggest killing anyone who does not believe as he prescribed. Ronny chose better. I also thought about the idea that if Mo and I were to get more serious, that may be a serious stumbling block for us. After our late dinner, we came home and again Ronny tried to leave us alone, but Mo asked if we had any dominoes, then asked Ronny to join us. After the dominos, he asked about a dart board. I told him we did not have one, but then Ronny said, "But we have blow guns!" "Blow guns?" "Yeah, like in Africa! They are fun to shoot at targets." Mo was all smiles. "I think I would like to try that!" We retired to the den, where we had that set up, as well as the TV. By the time we were finished with the games, it was later than anyone realized. "You MUST stay until morning, Mo." I importuned. "Ronny makes some very delicious eggs and Ba -" I stopped short. "It is okay. I said I usually don't eat pork. I make an exception with bacon! It is my one sin -- at least in the area of food!" He gave a fleeting look I could not discern, but it was like he was remembering something distasteful. "I would actually be grateful to stay with you. I have enjoyed your company more than I can remember." "You can have my bedroom, and I will sleep in here." I said, indicating the couch. "I could not put you out of your bed! I will sleep on the couch." He protested. "Actually, I have a king sized bed. It would be perfectly comfortable for both of us." I said. "I would not be able to sleep. I will take the couch." Said Mo. "That couch is lumpy!" Said Ronny. "I'll change the sheets on my bed, and you can sleep in there, and I'll sleep with my dad. We both have king sized beds." They both looked at me. For once I didn't show my discomfort in my eyes. I felt at first panicky after the dream I had last night of Ronny. Then I decided I could slip out to the couch as soon as everyone was settled. "Where are you going, Pop?" Said Ronny, later, as I started to slip out. I thought he was asleep. "I -- I thought I'd let you have this bed and go into the couch." As soon as I said it, I realized how lame it sounded. "Dad? What's going on?" "It -- it's about that dream -- last night. I just can't - " "Dad -- please just tell me the dream. Maybe I've had something like it or -- whatever. Please don't let a stupid dream get between us. I love sleeping next to my best friend." "<> Okay. But Ronny -- it was such a realistic dream, it scared the holy hell outa me!" I waited a little too long. "Yesss?" He said. "Shit! It's hard! I dreamed I was -- having sex with -- someone -- and -- when I woke up -- it was you! Ronny, I have never felt like I violated someone so completely. It was so real, and even when you came into the room - " "Dad -- it didn't happen." "I figured that out when I saw you standing at my door in your jams. But Ronny, what if it could hap - " "Dad -- it couldn't! It couldn't happen. I wouldn't let it! I'm not 12 -- or even 16 years old -- when I might have let -- no! I wouldn't have even let it happen then! It won't happen. You were sleeping commando -- and I for one -- know that can make for strange dreams. "Don't worry." He continued. "And if you ever do have a dream and try to -- um -- come on me -- I promise I won't do anything drastic. I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt me -- or our relationship. I don't know anyone else who loves their dad like I love you. That will never change. I think some of my friends that know us, may even think that you and I have a co-dependent relationship. Guess what? They are right. I don't believe that's always a bad thing. I do depend on you for my emotional support and I think you do, me, as well. "Come back to bed, Pop! You're -- my dad! I'll always save a special part of me for you. -- just not THAT part!" He grinned. I got into bed and said good night again and kissed him. I turned around and he spooned up behind me and put his arm around my chest. "I love you, Poppy!" He whispered. I lay awake for at least two hours -- doing nothing more than feeling good and secure in my boy's arms. Someday he's going to have to leave. I don't know what I'll do! Sunday morning I woke up to the smell of bacon and to the sound of it sizzling. I could hear the clothes dryer whining, and the shower down the hall splashing. I wondered why Ronny would be taking a shower while meat was cooking. I shot out of bed, momentarily confused and startled a little, then remembered: we have a house guest. I smiled to myself. I used to be the first one up, but as often as not, Ronny is up before me now. We both love waking the other up with wonderful smells. I whipped my hair into shape, then walked out to the kitchen. "Morning, Poppy!" Said my boy. "Morning sweetheart. I guess it was Mo in the shower.." "Yeah. I have been up for a couple hours -- well, since seven anyway. He was in the living room, reading. He asked if he could wash his underwear, as he wanted to take a shower and didn't want to put on yesterdays underwear. I hope you don't mind that I loaned him your robe." "Good morning -- gentlemen." "Morning, Mo." I said. "Sleep okay?" He looks better in my robe than I do! "As well as one may sleep in a strange bed. I am rested. And you? Did you two sleep well?" I thought about my misgivings about sleeping with Ronny, and how he loved me out of it -- how I reveled in his arms for two hours. "I did!" I walked to the stove, where the bacon was still sizzling. I was impressed that it was completely flat. Then it hit me. "Where did you get turkey bacon?" "I slipped out early this morning." Said Ronny. "I wondered where you went!" Said Mo. "I am thinking that we will need to make Ron a eunuch. How will you ever train anyone else to be like him?" Ronny covered his crotch, and yelled, "NOYADON'T!! These are all mine!" "Ronny will make us his famous scrambled eggs. He's renowned for them -- at least at scout camp." "Scout camp?" Said Mo. "Are you a Boy Scout?" "He's an Eagle Scout." I said proudly. "I have read about that. You must be very proud. It is quite an achievement. How are these famous eggs prepared?" It's easy, really." Said Ronny. "My mom showed me how to do it. You just turn up the heat to high, under the fry pan, just before the eggs are dry, and pour some milk on them. The milk goes to the bottom and bubbles up into the eggs, making them light and fluffy." He showed us how and when we were eating them, "You are correct! These eggs deserve to be called famous! Best I've ever had!" Said Mo. Ronny beamed. "And thank you for the bacon. I do love bacon and would really prefer not to eat pork. This was a delightful surprise." "What do you have planned for today?" I asked Mo. "I will be working on a project I am involved with. I must be leaving after eating. Thank you so much for your superb hospitality." "It was our pleasure, I assure you1" I said. "I am so glad you took a chance and came up to see us." "Oh, it was no chance. I could tell last night that you were one I needed to see again. Ron has made the experience doubly rewarding. Please relay my gratitude to your neighbor. Riding Satan was particularly stimulating." He said in his velvet-smooth voice. After eating, Mo insisted in helping clean up the kitchen before retrieving his underwear from the dryer, and getting dressed. As he left, he hugged Ronny, kissing each cheek. As he did the same to me, I quickly turned my head and kissed his lips. His eyes told me that he yearned for more, but his self control always keeps him cool. "I hope to see both of you again, many times." He said, before calling for Stan and the two of them hopping into his sports car and driving away. I watched him drive out of sight, and then Ronny said, almost sadly, "We won't be seeing him much -- will we?" I looked at my son. He was very perceptive. "You're probably right. We are miles apart, economically and more importantly -- culturally." "You wanted him though -- I could see it." "There was a sweetness that was captivating." I said. "I think we will see him again -- but not the way I first imagined." Two weeks passed and I pretty much kept to myself. Ronny saw a lot of Michelle. Then one night, he came in from a date with her. "Dad -- Michelle and I -- tonight we - " He sat on the couch next to me staring at the opposite wall. He breathed deeply. "You -- went all the way?" His eyes clouded up and tears began to pour down his face. "No." He almost choked. "We broke up." He threw himself onto me and bawled like a baby. "Why, Ronny?" "She -- she -- said that she loves me more than anything -- more than she could explain. But she said, as much as she tried -- as hard as she worked at it -- she could not justify having a gay man for her children's' grandfather." He sobbed. I felt terrible "I'm so -- SO sorry, Ron! If I could change it, I - " He shook his head in my neck. "No, Dad. It's not your fault. It's not even her fault. But she was honest with me." "Maybe -- maybe -- you should think of moving out. You can't get away from it living here." "What -- and keep you a secret? Don't be a dip-shit, Dad. You know I wouldn't do that. Unless you kicked me out. No -- whoever I marry will have to accept you as you are." "I'll become celibate. I don't need - " "You already ARE celibate! You have been for the last 10 years! No -- you are my dad. You are gay. So what?! You deserve to find love again. You've earned it. And Dad?" "Yes?" "I loved her too." "I'm so sorry Sweetheart!" "But not as much as I love you! I could see -- no I could FEEL -- how much it hurt you when Gary decided he needed to do what he's doing. I really liked him too. I guess all I am saying is -- well -- maybe you kind of understand how I feel -- about Michelle." "But I only knew him less than - " "I know that, but what I'm saying is -- well, I am glad that I have you to come back to -- to hold me and make it better. Please don't ever try to push me away - - again." I pulled his head tight against my chest and squeezed him almost desperately. "I never will, Ron -- I never will." I crooned. We both shed silent tears until we fell asleep. Later, after waking up, and going to our bedrooms, this time it was Ronny who had a nightmare. I ran to his room. "Ronny!" I said, shaking him gently. "Oh -- dad! You're here!" "Yes, I'm here Sweetheart. You had a bad dream." "Oh, but it seemed so real!" "Wanna talk about it?" "Well, it involved Mo and he somehow got you or induced you -- or tricked you or something -- into going somewhere with him, and I went because I wanted to protect you." "Do you still not trust Mo?" "I -- I -- dunno. But as I watched, he was strapping a bomb onto you, and explaining it was not really a bomb. I tried to call out to you, but it was as if I was trapped behind an invisible screen and you couldn't hear me." "You have an active imagination." "Dad -- I LIKE Mo! I don't know where that came from." This time I climbed in with him and held him until he went to sleep again, then drifted off myself. After three more weeks, with summer half over, I came home early from work on Friday. For once I could make dinner for my boy. I started to prepare some creamed tuna and peas on toast. My phone rang. It was my boy. "Hi Ron!" "Hey! What do you have planned tonight?" "You have something in mind?" "Um -- well -- I was hoping that maybe YOU had something planned. I want to bring Kylee home for a movie." "Oh -- you want it to yourself!" As usual, my feelings were on my sleeve. "Oh, I'm sorry dad. But you need to get out anyway. It's been half the summer and you've stopped even trying again. And -- yes -- I'd like it alone with Kylee tonight." "Do I get to meet her?" I held my breath. "Um -- if you want. But - we weren't coming over until after the movie." "Oh. OOHH!! Okay, I guess I'll just -- I dunno what - . Don't worry about it. I'll be gone." "Dad -- I didn't mean to - " "It's okay, Ronny. I'll see you when - - when I see you -- I guess." I finished up the dinner and put most of it in the fridge, not much more than tasting it. I walked out of the house, wondering if he would lose his virginity tonight. At least I don't think he and Michelle ever -- before I knew it, my truck seemed to drive itself to the juice bar. I heard the usual twang of C&W music, and almost decided to not go in. But it's been 5 weeks since I saw him. I pushed on and opened the door. I stopped inside the door. A few eyes met mine, as I swept the room visually. I didn't see him and started toward the bar, when I remembered the booth that he was in around the corner. I nonchalantly ambled over to that end of the room. He wasn't there. But I saw one of the guys I'd seen him with before. "No -- he ain't been in here -- well I ain't seen `im all summer." Said the youngish kid -- maybe early twenties -- who was draped on him the last time I was here. "What're you doin' ta'nite, Papa?" He asked. He WAS cute -- in a missing teeth kind of way. "I'm looking for Gary." I said. "Hope you find `im, Papa!" I KNOW I don't look any older than that guy! I walked to the bathroom. I could almost feel someone shadowing me. As I was standing, relieving my self, a familiar voice said from behind me, "Looking for Gary?" I turned my head and Chris -- the first kid to ever hit on me -- walked and stood up to the urinal next to mine. He peered over and said, "Still look as good as you did before." Ignoring that remark, I said, "I guess I better go over to his place." "He doesn't live there any more." "How do you know?" "I helped him move." "That was cool of you!" I said. "He made it worth my time." He said. "I don't wanna even know." I thought shaking my head. "He gave me 50 bucks!" I needed it too. "I'll give you some if you take me over to - " "Dude! He hasn't changed his phone! He's just not been in here since that night when you left him in the alley." "You -- you knew about that?" "He was bummed, man. What can I say?" "I was bummed!" I said, zipping up. I washed my hands then started walking out. "Hey -- wait up!" said Chris. I turned and he made a spectacle of stuffing himself into his pants. "Come out to my car. I got his address in it." I followed him to his car. He rooted around and found a slip of paper. He gave it to me. I looked at it and my heart started to beat faster. "Thanks, Chris!" I said, pecking him on the lips. "You're all right!" "Hey! He cried. If I'm so damned all right, then maybe I deserve a better kiss than that!" I came back and pulled him into a passionate, wet kiss. "Thanks again Chris. You're cooler than I realized!" "Dude! You can kiss me any time!" he said, grinding his hardening manhood into me. I laughed and said good bye. When I got to my car, I opened the paper his gave me. The address was in Citrus Heights. I took a chance and dialed his number. "Hullo?" He answered low. "Are you okay?" I asked. "Wait -- is this -- Brian?!!" "It is!" "Oh, hi! You caught me napping! I was watching something on TV, and fell asleep." "Sorry to wake you!" "No problem! What time -- oh! It's only eight o'clock? Well, any who, what can I do for you? Geez it's great to hear your voice!" "It's nice to hear your's too, Gary. It'd be better to see you." Listen -- um Bri -- I mean Brian -- I - " "You can call me Bri. I'm sorry I was a jerk about that." "Oh -- hee hee -- thanks! Um -- where are you -- are you at home?" "No -- I'm outside Handy's" "Oh! Hey -- oh! You called me! What's up?" "Can I come down and see you?" "You wanna -- oh! Hell yes! Do you know how to - " "Chris gave me your address, but - " "Never mind. Why don't you meet me at -- do you know where the Red Lobster is -- on Sunrise and Greenback?" "Sure!" Meet me there. I'm minutes from there." "Cool. Hey, I'll call again when I'm close." "Great! That'll give me time to -- heh -- I look like crap! Gotta look good for -- oh!" He stopped abruptly, then said, "Did I say that aloud? Haha -- see you in a bit!" I'd like to tell you that I drove straight there. But -- I didn't. I drove home and had to put a little shine on myself before seeing him again. About an hour later - when I got close, I called him. "Hi!" He said. "Are you at the restaurant?" "I will be in about five minutes. I'm at Greenback and Hazel." "See you in less than five!" It was all I could do not to speed. This was a notorious place for getting tickets. Lots of kids cruising all the time -- and tonight was no exception. When I got there, he had beaten me, and was waiting in the parking lot. I could see that he was feeling the same as I was -- wanting to run to me, but holding back. He walked to my car. I got out. He embraced. Then we kissed. "Brian -- I have thought about you every night! I went to the doctor today and I am clean of the Chlamydia!" "That's wonderful!" I said. "Do you wanna go in here to celebrate?" He asked me. "That -- would be a good place -- to start - " I said. He grinned. I felt his face. "You didn't shave for me!" I said. "You told me you liked it that way!" "Note to self: Gary has a good memory!" I said and laughed. We went into the Red Lobster. "This is my treat, Brian!" He announced. I started to object. "I invited you! So -- I pay! Besides, I don't have a boy to support." "Ronny pays his own way." I said. "I always get steak and coconut shrimp." Said Gary. "They don't always offer it on the menu, but if you ask -- they provide." I nodded my approval. "Good evening Mr. Foosdorf." Said the waiter. "Hi Robbie." Said Gary. "My friend will be having the steak and coconut shrimp. I'll just be eating some of the cheeses biscuits." "Nuh-uh!" I protested more than at first. "It's almost ten. I already ate." "You tricked me!" I said. "Note to yourself:" he laughed. "Gary has a good memory and is tricky!" We both laughed. Then he added, "And somewhat pig-headed!" more soberly. "What's that about?" I asked, almost afraid what the answer might be. "Well -- I finally am convinced that I can live with the Herpes." "Jeez, Gary! I had no idea that - " I was immediately alarmed. "Oh -- no! I wouldn't have -- oh no! Nothing like that!" He said. "I'm too fond of myself for that! I just -- I just couldn't stand to think that I may have given that to anyone else." "Did you ever have a breakout?" "Not yet." "So you didn't give it to anyone else." No." He said, again soberly. "I wish I could say the same about the Chlamydia. It's taken me most of this summer to find everyone." "How many - " I started, then, "sorry -- none of my business! Well, at least maybe you had a good time with some of them." "Actually not. I wasn't sure about the Herpes thing until about two weeks ago. I was trying to get up the courage to call you." "The courage? C'mon, Gary! Am I that formidable?" "Well, I knew that you met Mo, and - " "I haven't seen Mo for most of the summer." I said. "Oh I pretty much knew that. Mo's a virgin, by the way." "Wha -- at?" "He likes to kiss and stuff -- but you won't be getting him in bed. If he stays the night -- it will be on your couch. I found that out after our second date -- when he told me what he really wanted." I wanted to ask what it was that he really wanted, but thought that may be kind of tacky -- asking secrets about another guys experience with someone you might be seeing again! I didn't have to ask. "He's trying to get some people to go over to Iran and rescue other gays. Did he tell you that he is filthy rich?" "Well, no, but his dog and his car -- kind of -- were hints I guess." I said. "How many times did you go out?" "Actually only once. And you are right. He would not sleep with me. He took me and Ron out to Sam's Bistro, after some fun riding - " "Horseback?" Asked Gary. "Yeah, who'd ever guess that Mo would prefer bareback!" I laughed. "Oh, I'm going to like keeping up with you!" Said Gary. After I ate, I said, "You could have eaten a full meal, with all the cheese biscuits you ate!" "I LOVE those things -- I think even better than the steak and shrimp!" he laughed. I reached over and touched his hand. He responded by taking mine in his firm but gentle grip. I looked deeply into his eyes. "Thanks for dinner, Gary. I have another request." "What's that?" "I wonder if I can crash at your place tonight. I don't want to bother Ron." "I was going to ask you anyway." It was almost midnight, but I still needed to let my son know not to worry about me. I immediately called Ronny's phone. "Yeah, Dad?" "I'm gonna stay down here tonight." "You mean you met someone?" he said excitedly. "Yeah." "Oho! So my dad's gonna -- oh! Anyone I might know?" "Well yeah -- sort of. His name is Gary." "Aw, Dad, that's great!" "And how about you?" I asked. "Where are you -- is the movie over?" "Yeah. I just dropped Kylee off." "you've already been out to our place?" "Nope!" He said. "Turns out she's a nice girl. I think I like that!" "Good. I knew you were a little worried about tonight." "Dad -- have a great time tonight! I love you." "Yeah, I love you too, Ron!" "You are so lucky to have that kid!" said Gary. "You have no idea." "I know I don't." He said. "So, anyway -- are you convinced that you will know when you get an outbreak -- of Herpes?" "I think so. Just in case, I'm not taking any chances with any itch or ache I have down there!" He paid the bill and I followed him to his apartment. When we got inside, he locked the door and then, saying nothing, he came to me and wrapped himself around me. Before kissing me, his eyes filled with tears. "I was really afraid that I blew it. I was afraid I'd never see you again." I kissed him sweetly and said, "Okay if we take it slowly?" "How much experience have you had?" he asked. "I don't think I ever asked. Not that you really have to tell me." "I've had a few dreams -- that's about it." "Okay. You can have my bed. I'll sleep on the couch." I looked at him strangely, not knowing whether to believe him or not. "Your choice!" He said kissing me again. "I think I couldn't sleep on the couch or in your bed -- tonight -- if I have to sleep alone!" I smiled. Gary led me to his room. "I'll be gentle." He almost whispered. He kissed me again and started at the top button -- and worked his way down my shirt and removed it. Then he stood still and waited until I got it. In a few moments, I said, "Oh!" I then removed his shirt. He had no tee shirt under it. His smooth skin -- other than a light dusting of chest hair -- felt cool to the touch -- which I did ever so lightly. He shivered and blew out some air. "Whew!" He said, "I think you may have the hang of it." He removed my tee shirt and then undid the fly to my jeans. I let them drop to the floor and followed his example again. We both stood shirtless and pantless -- except I had some boxer shorts on. He was not so clad and as he had not bothered to turn the light off, his long white shaft stood nearly straight out from his body. At the tip was a perfectly pink head that looked clean as a whistle. He reached out and pulled the elastic waist band of my boxers out and peered down into them. "Uncut! Nice!" He immediately dropped to his knees and pulled down the underwear and grabbed my butt with both hands, pulling himself slowly into my crotch. He breathed deep. "Oh My God!" he said, as he stood and pushed me onto the bed, as he deftly pulled back the covers. It almost seemed as if I fell back in slow motion. How long I had waited for this! I sat on the edge of the bed and Gary pushed me back and lifted my feet up one at a time, removing my socks and putting my feet between the sheets. He then went and turned off the light. Thus, this night ended over at least 20 years of longing -- since I was 15 years old. I don't mean to give you the impression that we did much more than I have done with my own son -- which is to cuddle and kiss -- and the kisses were not so chaste and I would have done with Ronny. But to hold and feel the body of a fully mature man, his chest, his butt, his muscles -- his "muscle". But that's all we did that night. I wanted much more, and I knew that Gary wanted much, much more. But I let him lead, and he was true to his promise: he was gentle. And I was nearly in heaven. Notes: There are several scenarios that I have already thought of -- which is unusual for me. I may not post another chapter for a while, while I work out some personal issues, and while I decide what direction to take with this story. In the mean time, I would be honored if you would go to my other stories and try them out. Below is a list of links, if Nifty supports links.
