For as long as I could remember, our entire family had gathered at our parents' house in Birch Fork for a long weekend of fun, food and shopping. Everyone arrives on Wednesday and gets settled in, Thursday is for football and feasting and on Friday my sisters, my mother and I all head out for the Black Friday sales. My name's Lucky Bauer. Even though I am the third of five children, I was the only boy, so I was "lucky" enough to be saddled with my father's obnoxious name: Lorenzo Lucius Bauer. While Dad always went by Enzo, my sisters called me Lucky, and it stuck. And yes, I did realize how silly it was to be 33 years old and still going by such a ridiculous name. Over the years our family had grown significantly. My older sister, Beth, had married and had three kids. She and her husband, Gabe, lived in Connecticut, but always made the drive down the coast for the holiday. My twin sister, Frannie, was recently divorced. Her ex-husband, Joel, had left her and run off with their accountant. To make things MORE complicated, she'd also discovered that she was pregnant. You can imagine what a ball of sunshine SHE'D been over the last few days. Finally there was my baby sister, Sharon. Just out of college and happily engaged to her high school boyfriend, Vince, Sharon was the family clown. She was always keeping us smiling and laughing. My story begins late Friday afternoon. The girls and I had been up since 4:30AM and had just returned to the house, exhausted and loaded up with the spoils of shopping wars. As we dropped our bags in the library, Dad entered, a bottle of beer in one hand and a stogie in the other. "I might have known!" Mom exclaimed, slipping out of her coat. "We leave you boys alone for a few hours and out come those smelly cigars! Really, Enzo, did you HAVE to?" "Apparently I did," he teased, blowing smoke in the air. "You need any help unpacking any of your loot?" "I think we've got it, Dad," Sharon said. "Besides, I'd say roughly three quarters of this stuff is going home with Vince and me. I couldn't pass up some of these sales." "It's true," I added, "the rest of us had our Christmas shopping lists, but Sharon spent most of her money on herself." Sharon shrugged and smiled. "What else is new?" She reached over to help Frannie pull off her snowboots. "Fran didn't do too badly, either, did you, sis?" Frannie forced a smile as her foot slipped loose from the boot. "I guess." All day long, we'd grown accustomed to her weary, sad exasperations. Mom, Beth and I had long since given up trying to cheer her up, but Sharon was unstoppable. Beth quickly closed the library doors behind Dad. "Where are the kids, Dad? I don't want them seeing any of the stuff I got. Santa Claus and all that..." "Outside, playing in the snow," he explained. "It started coming down an hour or two ago and they've been at it ever since. I was starting to get worried you guys would get stuck somewhere." "The roads aren't too bad, Pop," I said. "But you're right, I had better head back home before it gets too bad. Myron's gonna need some fresh food and water." "You and that damn cat." Dad shook his head and puffed on the cigar. "I'll never understand it. Boring animals. Wastes of space." "Don't mind your father," Mom laughed. "It's easier for him to pretend to hate cats instead of admitting he's scared to death of them." "Now that's just simply not true!" he huffed. "Yes, dear," Mom sighed in mock exasperation, taking his hand and guiding him toward the kitchen. "Help me pack up a goody bag for Lucky... and Myron." "I am not wasting any of that food on a fool cat," he insisted, following along obediently. "Those two!" Beth said with a smile. "If Gabe and I are half as happy when we've been married as long as they have, I'd say we were doing well." "No doubt!" I agreed. As if on cue, Sharon sighed extra loudly. I couldn't help but roll my eyes. My sister had it rough, no doubt, but she LOVED the drama. She always had. And I had had about all I could take of it today. "Well, girls, I'm going to head out. Thanks for another great Thanksgiving, and I'll see you guys in a few weeks at Christmas!" We exchanged hugs and kisses, I popped my head outside to say goodbye to the kids and shouted a collective "see you!" to Vince and Gabe, who were ensconced in Dad's media room watching a game on the bigscreen. As I made my way toward my tiny hybrid, I couldn't help but notice that the snowfall had increased dramatically. My apartment was only a few miles away, but it was good that I left when I did because had I waited any longer, it would have been impossible. As I made my way down the driveway and out onto the main road, I reflected on how... well... lucky I was, if you'll pardon the pun. My family was very close knit and, even though we all had our foibles and quirks, we'd remained active parts of one anothers' lives. Not many families could say that these days. I was lost in thought when I suddenly felt the traction in my front tires give way. I began a slow slide across the road. Fortunately, there was no one else around, so I glided softly to a stop. As I tried to right the wheels, I put the car in reverse and hit the gas. The sound of skidding, spitting tires filled the car. "Come on," I coached, gently trying to nudge my way out of the sludge. "Come on!" After ten minutes of fruitless back and forth, I realized I had gotten myself well and truly stuck. Here I was, less than half a mile from my parents' driveway on a well-cleared road, and I'd managed to get stuck. Terrific. I sat for a few minutes, considering my options. I could call AAA, but who knows how long it would take them to tow me in this storm? This wasn't a very travelled road, so I could leave my car here until the storm passed and then have it towed. I decided that was probably my best option and took out my cell phone, dialling the number to my folks. Beth answered and I explained my predicament. "Oh gosh, you aren't hurt are you?" "Not a scratch. I don't think the car's damaged either, other than maybe the alignment. I'm just stuck." "Well hold tight, I'll send Gabe down with the 4x4 to get you." "That sounds great, but hasn't he been drinking?" "He said he's just had the one. He's not much of a drinker, anyway." "Okay. Thanks, sis!" Ten minutes later, I saw the headlights of Gabe's truck pulling up behind me. I dislodged myself from the car, grabbed my packages and waved a greeting. Dropping my stuff into his back seat, I grinned. "Thanks Gabe!" "No problem, bud. Sucks about your car, man!" "I know! I'll have it towed tomorrow if the storm lets up." I jumped into the passenger seat and buckled up. "Sorry to drag you away from the game." "Ah, no worries there. The team's playing for shit today." He shifted into gear and headed back on the road. "Truthfully, I was glad to get away for a bit. No offense, but your dad, man, he can drive a man nuts sometimes." I laughed. "Yeah, he's a character, for sure." "I hate cigars. Don't know why he can't ever seem to get that in his head. 'Gabe, real men smoke cigars...' Yeah, sure, okay, whatever." "He can come on strong sometimes. He's hard on you because you're like the son he never had." Gabe shot me a look. "Hey, now, that's not true... Enzo adores you man." "Yeah, I know," I sighed. "But I also know he's disappointed. Only son. Namesake. Gay." "Nah, it's not like that." "It IS, Gabe, but it's okay. I guess in a way I understand it. I love my dad, and he loves me, but he is who he is." "Yeah, well... if one of our kids turns out to be gay, I hope I never make them feel like I'm disappointed in them." "That's really sweet." "So, uh... do you think... uh... one of them is?" "What?" He cleared his throat. "One of the kids... you know... gay... I heard you guys can sort of, you know, tell..." I laughed. "You mean gaydar? Well, yeah, we CAN, sometimes, but... Gabe, your kids are still very young and..." "I know, but you said you knew by the time you were six, and Chelsea's eight now and Louis is six, so..." "Relax," I said. "Would you CARE if they were gay?" "Course not," he said plainly. "I just... I'd like to know so I can be... you know, careful, with things I say to them and whatnot." "You're a good dad, Gabe, they will be fine, regardless." "Hope so." We made small talk as he navigated his way toward my apartment. Although I'd known Gabe for years, and we'd always gotten along very well, I'd never really taken the time to talk to him on anything other than a superficial level. So his frankness about worrying about raising his children so they felt loved and respected caught me a little off guard. I'd always sort of dismissed Gabe as a monosyllabic goofball. Friendly, but not all that smart. I guess I was wrong. We were still in mid-conversation as we pulled into the parking lot of my apartment. I glanced at my watch. "Hey, you know, you are welcome to hang out here for a bit, if you need a break from Dad and stuff." "Nah, thanks for that buddy, I appreciate it. Your sister would kill me if I made her deal with the kids after being out shopping all day." "Yeah, that's true." I opened the backdoor and grabbed my stuff. "Thanks again, Gabe, I really appreciate it." "No problem, buddy. Hey, you know what? If you don't mind, I will come up and take a leak. I rushed out of the house so fast, I didn't get a chance and that beer is hitting me." "You got it." A few minutes later, I escorted Gabe into the apartment and dropped my bags on the couch. Myron emerged from the back room, stretching and meowing. "Hey little buddy," Gabe cooed, leaning down to give Myron a scratch. "You're a cutie." "You haven't seen Myron before?" "Nah, this is the first time I've been here since we helped you move in." "Oh that's right! Well... this is it. Casa Del Lucky," I said with a flourish. "It's nice. Reminds me of the bachelor pad I had when I was dating your sister." "Oh, good," I said drolly, "just the design style I was going for... caveman chic." He grinned and scratched his grizzled chin. "Mind if I...?" he pointed toward the bathroom. "Oh, sure, help yourself," I said. I busied myself with filling Myron's food bowl and giving him some extra attention while Gabe took care of business. A few minutes later, he joined me in the kitchen. "Hey, uh, Lucky, you mind if I ask you a personal question?" I gave him a puzzled look. "Yeah, you CAN, but no guarantee I'll answer it." "Yeah, um, I was just wondering. I saw you had two toothbrushes in there. Are you, uh, seeing someone these days?" "Oh, that. Nah, it's just a spare for... you know... guests." "Oh, okay. Because, you know, Beth is always talking about how she hopes you'll meet a nice guy and settle down and stuff and... well... I was thinking I might be able to go back to her and tell her you had." I shook my head. "Sorry to disappoint you. Nobody special right now." He stood there for a few minutes, his hands shoved in his pockets. "You... uh... ever talk to Will?" I felt myself tense at the mention of my ex-boyfriend. Will and I had been together for ten years. I thought he was the one; my soulmate. He'd been a fixture at Bauer family events for years, but about two years ago, I'd ended things with him. There wasn't any major reason, we'd simply grown apart. But there was still a pang of regret and loneliness when I thought of him. "Not for a few months. Want some coffee?" I asked, changing the subject. "Nah, thanks. I always liked Will. Nice guy. Really easy to talk to. It's a shame you guys broke up." "Yeah," I agreed, busying myself with the coffeemaker. "Well, it was for the best, trust me. Onwards and upwards." "That's the right attitude," he said. He clapped his hands together. "Okay, buddy, I guess I'll get back on the road." "Gabe, thanks again for coming to my rescue, I really appreciate it." I reached out to shake his hand. "No problem, buddy. You take care now, see you at Christmas." "Okay." I let him out and closed the door behind him. I sat for a bit in the silence of my apartment, with Myron curled up on my lap, and felt a bit melancholy. It was the mention of Will that had put me in that state of mind. This time of year was always our favorite. We'd spend hours decorating the apartment for Christmas, he'd bake cookies, we'd sit on the patio and watch the snow fall. It was bliss. I wish I knew what it was that had come between us. I closed my eyes and let my mind wander a bit to the past. I wondered where he was these days and if he ever thought of me in the same way. Just then, my thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door. For a split second, the sappy romantic in me thought "it's Will! He's driven through a blizzard to come and tell me he still loves me and wants to be together!" But I had shaken that off by the time I got to the door. I opened it to find Gabe, soaking wet, his right hand covered in blood. "Gabe!" I exclaimed, stepping aside to let him back in. "What the hell happened! You're bleeding." "Stupid tire's flat," he explained. "There was something in the spot I parked in, I can't tell what it was because of the snow. I tried to change the tire, but I slipped on the ice and cut the hell out of my hand." "Quick, go wash it off." I followed him to the bathroom and watched as he rinsed the blood from his hand. Fortunately it looked a lot worse than it was. He had a small gash, about an inch and a half wide, across the top of his palm. Didn't look deep enough for stitches, but it was definitely a bleeder. His knuckles were swollen and bruised, but it didn't look like anything was broken. He'd be tender for a day or two. I grabbed some antibiotic cream and a rolled bandage from beneath the sink and wrapped it up for him. "Thanks, man. Sorry about this." "You should have come back up and told me the tire was flat, I would have come down and helped you change it!" "I know, I know, I'm sorry." He winced as he lifted his hand. "Stings. But thanks, man, you should have been a doctor." I laughed. "We're quite a pair, aren't we? Me crashing my car, you ripping your hand open." "Yeah, definitely not our day, Lucky." The squeak of his shoes turned our attention toward the floor. "Aw man... look at me, I'm soaking wet, I got your floor all wet." "Ah, it's just water," I said. "Listen, I'm gonna go down and finish changing your tire, why don't you throw your clothes in the dryer?" "Nah, man, there's nothing you can do." I raised my eyebrows. "You doubt my mechanical aptitude? I'll have you know I've changed a tire or two in my day." He laughed. "No doubt, but that's not what I'm saying. When I fell, the lugnuts went flying. They're buried out there in the snow somewhere." He exhaled. "Looks like your stuck with me after all, buddy." I nodded. "Well, then, just relax. I'll find you some sweats to wear and you can call Beth and let her know what happened." "Thanks, Lucky, I really appreciate it." I went into my bedroom and opened the dresser drawer, looking for a pair of sweats. Gabe stood a good five inches taller than me, so all of mine would be too short on him, but I was pretty sure I had a pair of Will's left in here somewhere. As I reached toward the back of the drawer, I noticed I could see into the bathroom door via the mirror on my dresser. I could see Gabe unbuttoning his wet flannel shirt and dropping it on the toilet seat with a splash. He had a white thermal on underneath, which he pulled over his head. It was a good thing he was out of earshot because I let out an audible gasp as his bare chest came into view. Now, let me explain something. As I said, I've known Gabe for years. And yeah, I've always thought he was kind of cute, but I had NO IDEA he had such a rockin' body. He always dressed in layers. Talk about keeping your light under a bushel. This man had a solid, thick chest, covered with a soft brown fur. His stomach was flat and his arms... good god, his arms... they were golden bronze and solid. His forearms were covered in the same brown fur that crossed his chest. Still watching (hell, I couldn't keep my eyes off of him now), I saw him unloosen his belt and unsnap his jeans. I swallowed hard, knowing I SHOULD look away and give him his privacy, but I just couldn't. He turned his back to me and slid the jeans off, revealing a pair of tight white briefs. His back was as tan as the rest of him, and there was a small tattoo across his left shoulder. I couldn't make out what it was. As he leaned over to pull his jeans off, his briefs gathered in the cleft of his ass and I was astonished at how muscular his butt was. I felt my cock stiffen as I stood there watching my brother-in-law undress. It was such an unexpected situation; like seeing someone for the first time. How had I not been lusting after this guy for years? Gabe kept his back to me and I saw that he was inspecting his wounded hand, so I kept my gaze fixed on his beautiful briefs-covered ass. God, I wanted to just take my cock out right now and jerk off, but I couldn't. Before I could finish my thought, Gabe called out to me. "Hey, Luck, you find something for me to wear?" "Yeah," I responded, shutting the dresser drawer. I looked up to see him begin to turn, hoping I might get a fleeting look at what he was packing up front, but no... as he turned he closed the bathroom door. I sighed in disappointment and adjusted my now semi-hard cock in my pants, carrying the sweats and a t-shirt over to the bathroom door. "Hey, here you go," I said through the door. He opened it a crack and reached out, accepting the clothes. "Thanks, buddy, I really appreciate this." "No worries. Hand me your wet clothes and I'll stick 'em in the dryer." "Okay." A few seconds later, he reached back through the door, handing me his wet jeans, the thermal and his shirt and socks. I turned to head for the dryer when he said, "Wait, might as well take these, too..." In his hand were the white briefs he was just wearing. My heart nearly stopped as I took them from him. "O..Okay," I stammered. "Did you need some new ones? I might have a pair that I..." "Nah, it's fine." He opened the door and stepped out, sliding the t-shirt down across his massive frame. "I'll just go commando for a night. Won't hurt me." He grinned. I nodded and felt my face go flush as I shoved his clothes into the dryer. Behind me, I heard him pressing keys on his cell phone. "Hey babe... yeah, we got here safe and sound, but you're never gonna believe it..." I went into the kitchen to give him some privacy and to try and get my bearings. This had gotten very weird, very fast. Ten minutes ago, my only thoughts about Gabe were of gratitude for coming to my rescue and for being a genuinely nice guy. Now, all I could think of was how he was sitting fifteen feet away from me, freeballing in a pair of my ex-boyfriend's sweatpants. It was all very surreal! Busying myself with the dishes in the sink, I looked out into the living room, where Gabe was casually pacing back and forth as he explained the situation to Beth. Occasionally he would rub his hand across his chest absentmindedly, or scratch his head, exposing his hairy armpit. I felt my mouth hanging open and tried to act cool. A few minutes later, he was leaning against the wall in the kitchen. "Well... she wasn't happy about it, but she understands it can't be avoided. Besides, she said it will give me a chance to grill you." I grinned. "Oh? How so?" "You know Beth, she's a busybody. She wants to know everything there is to know about what's going on in your life." "No she doesn't, trust me," I mumbled, scrubbing a saucepan. "She worries about you, Luck, and only wants to... OW!" I turned as he exclaimed and saw him cradling his sore hand. "Damn it, I keep forgetting that's there. Bumped it on the table." "Still throbbing?" "Yeah, man. You got any Advil or Tylenol or anything?" "Yeah, somewhere, let me check." A few minutes later I returned with a couple of options. "I have both. I also have a few low dosage pain killers from when I wrenched my back last summer if you want to try one of those." "Yikes, that sounds heavy duty." "Nah, they weren't too bad. Just make you drowsy." "Well, I'm not going anywhere for the night, so I'll take one of those." A little later we were sitting in the living room, watching tv and eating leftover pizza, laughing and sharing stories about Beth. "My sister was ALWAYS high-strung. I swear, we used to tease her about coming out of the womb with heels and a string of pearls. She was destined to be June Cleaver." "Yeah," he agreed, "being a mom is her top priority. And she's good at it." "Yeah." "But sometimes..." he exhaled. "She's kind of... nah, skip it." "Go on," I said, "You can talk freely. Nothing leaves this room." "It's just... sometimes she's too much of a mom. I don't think she's ever learned that balance between being a mom and being a woman, you know? Like she forgets to take time for herself, so she's always... exhausted." "I can see that." "Like last summer, remember when I surprised her with that long weekend in New York and your folks watched the kids?" "Sure." "Well, that was supposed to be our chance to just be us, to reconnect and spend some quality time together." "Didn't work out?" "Well, yes and no. We spent the entire weekend together, sure, but she had an agenda a mile long, so we were always on the go from one place to another. And then, when we'd take a break and have a nice dinner, she'd call your Mom and talk to the kids the whole time." "Ouch." "Yeah." "I had no idea things were like that." He leaned back against the couch and put his hands behind his head, exposing his armpits again. I tried not to stare. "Don't get me wrong, Luck, things aren't BAD between us. I love her, she loves me, we love the kids and we don't argue. I just wish sometimes... well... I guess I just wish things could be like they were when we were young." "Buddy, I think everyone has that dream once in a while." "Man," he said wistfully, "when we were young... we were ALWAYS in sync. There would be entire weeks when we wouldn't leave the house because we were so busy fucking." I laughed. "Hey now, that's my sister you're talking about." "Sorry, sorry," he grinned. I noticed his eyes had become glassy. He hadn't had a single alcoholic drink since taking the pill, so I was a bit surprised to see it starting to have an effect on him so soon. "I think that pill is starting to... yeah, I'm starting to feel it." "Okay," I said, gathering up the plates. "Lay down and I'll get you a pillow, you'll probably be out for the rest of the night." "Thanks Lucky. I really appreciate this. You are a good guy." By the time I returned with the pillow and blanket, his eyes were already closed. I gently lifted his head to put the pillow underneath and he smiled softly. "Thanks, buddy..." He patted my arm with his bandaged hand. "Yep, you're definitely feeling no pain," I laughed. He just grinned. "Beth..." he whispered softly. I turned off most of the lights and flicked on the tv. It was still early, and I wasn't ready for bed yet, so I figured I'd knock a few things off the DVR. Occasionally I'd look over at Gabe and he seemed to be softly snoring. For the most part, he remained still, but occasionally he'd shuffle on the couch and I'd hear him mumble things. "Can't go there," he mumbled once. "It's not allowed." I grinned, wondering what he was dreaming about. About half way through the latest episode of Real Housewives of Wherever, Gabe started chuckling softly in his sleep. "You are no fun," he mumbled. "At least let me try..." I glanced over and nearly fell out of my seat. Gabe's leg had slipped off the couch, his foot resting on the floor, and I could clearly see significant movement happening in his crotch. Something was moving in there! "No way!" I whispered, muting the tv. I sat there for a few moments, just staring at his bulge, watching as it softly bounced up and down. I couldn't believe it... he was getting a hardon in his sleep! "Come on," he slurred softly. "Just once, you never... you never let me do anything..." I slowly climbed out of my seat and walked over to the couch. Crouching down beside him, I said "Gabe? You awake?" "Course..." he said, the sound faint and dry. "Standin' right here, dummy..." "You're still asleep," I giggled. "Oh my god, I should totally film this and make fun of you tomorrow." "Yeah, film... now you're talking..." His eyes remained closed, but he made a silly catcall sound which nearly sent me into hysterics. "Oh my god, you're such a dork," I said, standing up. I started to return to my seat, but he kept talking. "Come on," he said, "just once... won't hurt, promise... just let me... been so long..." I shook my head, but then I noticed that he'd begun grabbing himself through his sweatpants. My eyes flew open as I saw an enormous bulge growing down the left side of his pantleg. As he groped drowsily, the waistband slid down slightly, showing off the thick wiry hair of his pubes. "Jesus," I thought, licking my lips. "He's so out of it." "PLease," he begged softly. "I need it... been so long..." I slowly walked back over to the couch and leaned down next to him. Swallowing hard, I whispered in his ear. "What... what do you need, Gabe?" "YOU know," he said... "you know what I like... what I've always liked." I wish! I thought. "No, Gabe, you have to tell me... tell me what you like..." He sighed in frustration. "Games, always games, you never..." "Never what, Gabe?" "Never want to just... be with me anymore." Oh my god, he thinks I'm Beth! Feeling a slight pang of guilt, I kept talking. "Of course I do, Gabe. I want to be with you." "You do?" "Of course. You just... have to tell me what you want." "I want..." he groaned slightly, and I saw him grabbing his massive erection even harder. "I want... you to..." "Yes?" "God, just please..." I was losing him. So, taking a deep breath and praying I didn't regret this in the morning or that he didn't suddenly snap out of his dream and become lucid, I reached down and carefully placed my hand over his. Slowly, he released his grip on his cock and let me take over. His dick felt thick and solid under the cotton sweatpants. He moaned slightly as I gripped it and began softly stroking it. "Yess....." he hissed. "Come on... do it... don't stop there..." "What else do you want, Gabe? Tell me..." I released my grip and placed my hand under his t-shirt, against the fuzzy flatness of his belly. He began to softly thrash up and down as my hand slid slowly south, under the waistband of his pants. I felt my fingertips begin to brush through the thick mass of hair and then I felt it... the hot, swollen flesh of his giant cock. As my hand wrapped around it, Gabe continued to thrash and moan. "Yes, that's it... just like that..." "Tell me what you want, Gabe," I continued to whisper. "Just tell me and I'll do it." "Oh, yes... please... PLEASE... just... suck it, please... please... suck my cock..." I grinned and leaned close to his ear. "Gladly," I purred. TO BE CONTINUED... Enjoying the story so far?
