Comments Email to preecherdave@gmail.com Previously To everyone's amusement they talked back and forth and suddenly, Juventus did exactly what Timothy had been saying and on the counter attack they scored. Timothy looked intensely at Jeremy and shouted, raising his fist in recognition of the beautiful goal. Jeremy broke out in laughter and went over and hugged his guy. "I guess I have lost my position as manager of our team." "I'd quit the team before that happened." An intense look passed between the guys and then they were watching intently as Juventus opened up the field as Timothy had suggested and went on to win 2 - 1. Supper was lively as they discussed the game and what was coming up for everyone that week. Timothy felt a little nervous tension as he realized yet again that he would be the head of a department by weeks end. A sobering thought. That was all put aside as they came home and Jeremy put the cannelloni dish to soak in the sink. While Jeremy was doing that, he suddenly felt a pair of arms encircle him and there was a kiss on his neck, a very sensitive spot for him. He turned his head. "As usual, my very surprising guy. You know you have become a very perceptive football player and strategist." "It is all you. I listen in amazement every Tuesday and Saturday to your analysis of our opponents and our own team. You have taught me so much." He looked softly at him. "In so many ways. Let's go to bed. I think that I have some things to say to you." His words and actions in bed were as precise and direct as his words were in that wonderful room with his new family watching Italian football. He marvelled yet again how his life had changed. Jeremy marvelled at some more earthy things that evening as well. Timothy had a lot to say and do. Present Monday passed quickly and they were sitting at home when the telephone rang. Jeremy picked it up. "Hi Pops. Yes we really meant what we said yesterday. No kidding. I always figured that if you start to look, you will find. We could go tomorrow evening. Let me check." He put the hand over the mouth piece. "You free tomorrow after work?" Timothy nodded yes. "Pops, how about right after work, I'll pick Timothy up and we'll go to your place and pick you up. OK, see you then." Jeremy's eyes were bright with excitement. "Pops has the first place for us to look at. He wouldn't give any details but he wants to see our reactions. Luckily the practice tomorrow had to be cancelled." "You were so right. If you look, you find. It's real. We are going to do it!" Timothy rushed over to Jeremy and landed on him kissing him. They laughed and held each other tight. "Sure you won't miss this place. It was your first home." "Are you serious? It was great until you came along and then I wanted more. So much more. I have some good memories but most of them are with you, here. I am so excited. Our own place that we can create together." Jeremy dropped Timothy off at work the next day, Tuesday. It was going to be a busy day for him. He had three appointments. He needed time to get ready for the partner meetings Wednesday morning. He wanted to be on top of his department and the issues that they wanted to discuss about the direction of the firm. He noticed that Mr. McNeil was absent and Mme. Chenier told Timothy that he had phoned her and she had cancelled his appointments. He said that the would be in Wednesday. He reflected that John had greeted him on Monday morning saying nothing about Friday or the weekend. John was not avoiding him so Timothy figured that he was indeed a private person and was either embarrassed or just didn't want to talk about a simple meal and a drink with a guy. Timothy was certainly not going to push the issue. He respected the guy's privacy. He, himself, had been a lot like that when he first started going out with Jeremy. His first client was fun. The guy was a good conversationalist and they enjoyed each other. He was going to be doing some travelling and he wanted his will updated to include his new partner. His next client took a bit more time. He had just finished the paperwork and they were about to break up their meeting when Timothy heard raised voices from Andrew's office. He suddenly realized that the volume had been increasing for a few minutes but it was suddenly up a notch. His client had turned his head in that direction. "Would you excuse me for a minute?" The client thanked him quickly and took his leave. As Timothy stood up and put on his jacket, he heard an even louder statement. "Jean, I told you to shut up! This is the way I want it!" He heard Andrew in a fairly forceful voice which Timothy thought was appropriate, "Gentlemen ...." "You can shut the fuck up as well. This is our concern not yours." As Timothy entered the office, the guy was leaning over Andrew's desk with his face almost in Andrew's. Timothy was thinking very quickly. You are the boss. Your employee is being browbeaten by a bully. You have to act. Be strong and direct, no backing down to threats. Shit where did all those thoughts come from? Are you an idiot? Probably. Oh yes, use your best school yard French. In a determined, firm voice, "It is now my concern!" Still leaning forward on Andrew's desk, the guy turned his head. "Who the fuck are you?" "I'm his boss and you are in my offices." The guy stood up glaring at Timothy. The guy took a step towards Timothy. Timothy didn't moved a muscle on his face or his body. Timothy stared at him with a cold, dispassionate look. He did not flinch. "Sit ... down." The guy's partner, "Anthony, don't do this." "Jean, shut the fuck up, you wimp." "I said ... sit down." Sneering "You are standing." Timothy looked at Jean. "Jean, please hand me the chair behind you and put it beside Mr. Robson's desk please. Jean did it. It took some time and Timothy hoped that would help diffuse the situation a bit. Remaining standing, "Now Anthony, sit down." "You are still standing." "You don't get it, do you. My office! You ... do ... what ... I ... say." With a snarl, "I am paying for this session. I do what I want." "You are correct. You are paying for a session to do legal work. But I will tell you what you are not paying for. You are not paying for a session to bully your partner, change your agreement with him or threaten my colleague. SIT DOWN!" They stared for a few more seconds and Anthony finally sat down. Then,Timothy sat down. From where he was sitting he could see John over by Mme. Chenier's desk and the two of them had eyes that were wide open and amazed. "Now let us get some things straight. You and your partner have to settle this issue between yourselves. You are wasting your time and money and our time. Secondly, I smell alcohol on your breath. That is unacceptable in this office." "Anthony, I told you not to drink before you came." "Jean, shut up." "Let us get some things straight. You are going to leave quietly. If you decide to use our services again, you can make another appointment and there will be ... no ... alcohol consumed before you come in. I am a little surprised. It isn't even lunch time yet." It looked as if Anthony was going to say something. Timothy decided to preempt it. Determined and forceful, "This meeting is over. You will make no further comments. Gentlemen, good day to you and Mr. Robson will be pleased to serve you at another time if you wish it." For once, Jean stood up and looked at Timothy. "Thank you." He looked down at his partner, "Anthony we are leaving or least I am. You need my signature. Come." They left. Timothy put the chair back in its place, and looked at Andrew. "Go on. Take a break. Get some lunch and a good strong coffee." "Boss ...." Shaking his head and smiling, "Go. You deserve it. Take a break, relax." Timothy turned and walked out of Andrew's office. John's look was almost undefinable; he was looking at him with eyes focused on him. Mme. Chenier had a look of pleasure with a bit of surprise. "Mr. Malenfant, if I can say it, I think that you should take the same advice that you gave to Andrew. Sit, relax. Take a break. By the way, I liked the touch of switching to a really harsh, patois accent. I knew that you were talented but that was dramatic. Where did you learn that?" "In the school yard. On the soccer pitch. In the locker room, you have to be one of the guys. Never thought that I would need it here." He went into his office and took his own advice to Andrew. Relax, breathe deeply. Slowly, the tension started to drain away. He sat looking at the wall. Did he do the right thing? He hoped that he had not upset Andrew by taking over. He would have to let Andrew know that he felt that he had to do it with no reflection on Andrew's abilities. He was acting as a third party. No, he was acting as the boss, setting the tone that he would accept in the office. He must have sat there staring at the wall for 10 minutes thinking. He had vaguely heard John go into Andrew's office and take him out to lunch. He muttered to himself that he figured that he was the boss now. He hoped that Mr. McNeil would call a damned meeting and let everyone know what was going on. He would have to press him to do it before or after the partners' planning meeting tomorrow. His thoughts wandered again. If anything was said at the meeting with the partners, he would press him as they walked back to the office. He had figured out how he would do it. He had a quick lunch and was back at his desk with a sandwich. He was going over the agenda for the next day's meeting and he was putting materials in file folders to take with him in case anything that was important to him came up. He sensed someone in his peripheral vision. John was standing looking at him deciding whether to interrupt him or not. "John, come in." He stood in the door fidgeting at bit. "Can I close the door?" His answer was a smile and a shrug. "Closed door. Hope it not something too important. I have had enough drama for the day." That brought a smile to John's face. "I heard a rumour when I came back from lunch. Apparently, our little scene here is making the rounds. In retelling the story, someone mentioned that there was a rumour that Mr. McNeil is going on leave for a long period of time." Timothy kept a straight face with just a bit of surprise on it. It was ambiguous. OK, does he lie or swear him to silence? He thought over Friday night. Yes John could be trusted. Just as John could trust him. "Yes, the rumour is correct." "How will you feel about dealing with another head? I assume OK because you do know about it." Timothy blew his breath out of his mouth. "Can you keep something quiet and I mean, not to tell it to anyone." He smiled, "You mean like you have about Friday night." "Oh, that! That's on my Facebook page." "What ...." Laughing for the first time since the altercation with Anthony, "The look on your face, priceless. Kidding. I have no memory about Friday night. I guess I had too much to drink." "I would have no memory of this conversation." He paused and decided. "I won't be dealing with another head." "Shit, you are not leaving?" "Just changing offices." He pointed to McNeil's office John's eyes got bigger. "I hope I can fill his place." "Best news since I heard the rumour. That makes me feel much better. Another issue. Were you ever in the closet?" "Wow, major change of subject. I assume that you want that question kept quiet as well." Looking a bit sheepish, John nodded yes. "Was I ever in the closet? Yes ... up to July 2 of this year with my parents and a lot of others, especially with my religious, anti-gay father." Timothy decided to stop and let John proceed with his own agenda. "Jason and I just had some food and a drink. Oh and a kiss at his place later. I have never done anything like that before. I don't know what to do." "Jeremy was right and so was his dad, Philipo." To John's bewildered look. "I said that you were just going for some food and a drink. Jeremy reminded me of our first time together in May of this year, just a movie and a drink. Oh and a kiss. That changed the next time that we were together. We are going out to look at a house tonight. We want something that is bigger and ours, together." "I don't even know where to start." "John, I have to get ready for a partners and heads of department meeting for tomorrow. How about dropping by our place tonight after we look at a house. We'll bring some food and we can talk. I'll give you a call as we are leaving Pops' place, Jeremy's grandfather." John looked a little more confident as he left the office. By the time he heard his guy chatting amiably with Mme. Chenier, Timothy had done all he could do for the meeting and his clients that day. He went out to see Jeremy perched on the side of her desk in earnest conversation. "No, he didn't do that? He did? You know sometimes he scares me. I have never met anyone who will take a stand and stick to it as he does. I bet he didn't raise his voice. Yeah, once would be all. I bet he stared the guy down." Chuckling at her response, "That's my guy." He must have seen Mme. Chenier shift her eyes to Timothy behind him; he turned to look at him. Jeremy had a huge grin on his face. Jeremy just stood there taking in that wonderful smile on Timothy's face and the intensity of Timothy's gaze. He turned to Mme. Chenier. "I hope that this doesn't bother you but ...." He launched himself at Timothy. Timothy was engulfed in a huge bear hug. He held him a shade longer than if it were a man hug. Mme. Chenier was glowing at them. Jeremy saw John looking out his office at them with a smile on his face. Jeremy gave John a wave and shrugged his shoulders. They left the office in excited conversation about the house they were going to look at, going over all their priorities for their new home. Pops directed them to an area that was a bit down at the heels but they could see that some renovations had taken place. They took it all in but didn't say much in front of Pops. They stopped at a rather forlorn looking place. "Guys, it doesn't look that great but I am told that it is structurally in very good shape. It does need a lot of work but we have great crews for a place like this. You should talk to Philipo about it." Pops went through the house in great detail. It was a great learning experience for the guys. The price was very good and Pops gave an estimate for a renovation. It was well within their budget but as each was to say later, it just didn't excite. Perhaps they had their hopes set a bit too high. Pops sensed their reaction. "Guys, it is the first place. I can tell that you are not really excited about it. Give it some thought. Talk to Philipo. There will be lots of others that I can show you as the weeks go by." "Thanks Pops. You know how much we appreciate what you are doing for us. We'll be talking about it later tonight." They dropped Pops off, picked up the food and called John. They headed for home. Jeremy, "I think that we are on the same page on this. I saw your looks. I didn't really like the area of the city. The layout was just too claustrophobic and I don't really want to make it into an open concept place. I like rooms that we can close off for heating purposes. Plus the dining room was too small and that is one of our reasons for moving." "Well said. I think that I had exactly the same reaction. I really didn't like the upstairs either. I couldn't see a master bedroom with its own full bathroom. But I do want three bedrooms or even four. There has to be a study somewhere and guest quarters." "OK, I'll phone Pops later or tomorrow but I don't want him to give up." John arrived about 10 minutes after they arrived home. They had opened a good bottle of wine and set the table when he rang. John was dressed casually. Timothy's first impressions were correct. Big guy and not an ounce of fat on him. Jeremy commented as they were getting the food together that he was a very attractive guy. Both the guys smiled at each other. John was going to break some hearts male or female. Another smile, maybe both if he wasn't careful. The food was excellent and Jeremy had a blow by blow description of the scene in Andrew's office. Timothy finally looked at John. "I hope that Andrew wasn't upset that I intervened like that." "He said that he was so surprised that he didn't know which way to go. He told me that you didn't flinch once. He did notice that you were taking a defensive stance just in case. He was totally relieved that you did what you did." Timothy was looking a little embarrassed so he changed the direction of the conversation. "Enough of this morning. You had some questions for us." Looking at Jeremy and nodding towards him, "He figured it out better than I did." "Guys, I have gone out with a lot of women. I certainly don't lead a celibate life. I have never had a reaction to a person as I did to Jason. We did have a meal and then went back to his place for a drink. I realized later that Jason deliberately sat beside me. We talked and laughed. I could feel the heat radiating from his body and I had a reaction to him. He very smoothly told me that he would like to continue this another night so we arranged to go to a movie mid week at the repertory theatre in town. As I was about to leave, he looked at me and said that there was something that he had wanted to do all evening. Would I be upset if he acted on it? I think I knew what it was and told him to go ahead. He hugged me and kissed me." John closed his eyes and sighed. "The kiss went right to certain parts of my body. It was me who opened my mouth for his tongue. I could feel his beard and his hard body. I knew that I was kissing a man. Oh shit, what do I do?" Timothy looked at Jeremy with his eyes asking him to take over. He paused a minute thinking. Then slowly, "My dad, Jamie, was asked a question like this by his brother-in-law a few years back. The first thing dad said was to be honest and not lead the guy on. It was interesting advice. He told him that gay guys generally give good head and it might be too easy to get used to it." John's eyes opened wide and then he and Timothy chuckled. Timothy looked at him. "What can I say?" "But he added that if his brother-in-law couldn't reciprocate and if didn't like the hair and hardness of a man then he wasn't gay and should not lead the guy on because it would end in recriminations and bad feeling between them. He had to be honest with him." "What happened?" "Gio, the brother-in-law, and Kevin have been together for almost five years. I gather that he likes all aspects of gay sex. Oh they did something interesting. Gio told Kevin about the advice and they agreed to be together for one month with no talk about the relationship during that month and they would meet in one month on a Saturday night in a really good restaurant to decide what to do. Both guys would be monogamous that month. Either could break it off in advance if just wasn't working for them." He smiled, "Five years later." John looked at the guys. "You guys are amazing. Did you have to do the same thing?" Jeremy recounted their version of it adding that they were now buying a house together. "Lots to think about. I asked Timothy earlier if either of you had been in the closet. Timothy told me until July 2 of this year." "So was I until I was age 17 in my last year of high school but you know that story from the club Friday night. I was really lucky compared to my guy." Turning to Timothy, "Why July 2?" He shrugged. "In early June, Jeremy told me that he wanted to be a part of my life, in all aspects, especially family. He wanted no secrets and that it would be a problem if I didn't tell my parents at some point. I knew that the time had come. I had an excellent job at one of the top firms in town. I was with a great guy and I had been totally accepted by his family. It was time. We have a huge July 1 celebration at the chalet and I invited Jeremy up as a friend who wanted to learn to water ski. I decided that it would not be appropriate to ruin July 1 so I would do it on the morning of July 2. Didn't go over well. My father ordered Jeremy to leave. I told him that if Jeremy left I would too as we were spending the holiday together. He told me that I would leave when he told me to. I left with Jeremy and we stayed at a local hotel. That really didn't go over well either. We invited everyone over for brunch on the Sunday and my father refused to come. Mom, my sister and her family came and we had a wonderful day." "My dad came around after a dramatic illness and he has accepted us fully." Jeremy was all smiles. "You know that day of the illness, Timothy was probably much like he was today. His father was having a stroke and Timothy took charge. I remember so well his words and his actions." He gave his guy a look of love. "His father was refusing to go to the hospital. Timothy's words, 'Dad, I am in charge, not you, not Mom, not Jeremy ... me.' He went to the hospital." "Then in the hospital, he took on the anti-gay priest at his father's church. Quoted the Bible to him and told him in no uncertain terms that the good Father Pierre might be responsible for his father's stroke with all the horrible ideas and tension he was giving to his father." They were all laughing by now. Jeremy had his arms around his guy. John looked totally at ease. "Thanks guys. A lot to think about before the movie. Jason and I may have a very interesting evening or two." Jeremy couldn't help himself. "An interesting evening with talking or with action?" "As my learned colleague there might say, 'One does not preclude the other'." John had a very wicked smile on his face. John thanked them profusely for the evening. The guys smiled at each other as they cleaned up. Good team work, they both figured. Timothy rather enjoyed the hands that were roaming over his butt as they were putting dishes in the dishwasher. In fact, as he turned to face his lover, it was obvious that he was having a reaction in certain parts of his body. Very soon fingers were lightly running up and down the significant long outline in his pants. Boxers did not hide anything. Maybe they should have warned John to choose his boxers or briefs carefully. Timothy broke from him and shaking his head, "A movie and a drink can be so damn much fun. Who would know that cleaning the kitchen could be just as good?" "No it is the horny guy that you are with that makes it so easy. Jeez, I touch you and its up." "Mr. M & M, it appears to me then that there are two horny men in this room." He ran his fingers over a growing, significant outline in Jeremy's jeans. "Well, I guess the two horny men should do something about it." They did. Timothy had a lot of looks from people as he walked to his office on Wednesday. Mme. Chenier was here usual self. Mr. McNeil called him into his office. "I hear that there was quite a scene yesterday. I understand that you handled it very well. Made quite an impression. Are you ready for the meeting today?" "I went over the agenda yesterday and made some notes. I guess I'll keep my head down unless something that I think is important comes up. Are you OK with that?" Mr. McNeil nodded yes. Timothy quickly decided that now was the time. "By the way, there are rumours circulating about you leaving for a long period of time. Could you possibly deal with that today with our guys?" "Damn rumours. Mme. Chenier is there a time when Andrew, John and Timothy are free at the same time today." He heard a 'just a minute'. "Yes 11:30." "Good please let them know that there is a meeting in my office at that time." Timothy felt very insignificant as looked around the table. These were the men who ran the firm and helped build it into one of the biggest and best in the city. A thought did run through his head that they must have all started out as he was now. The lowest of the low. "Gentlemen and ladies let us get started. First I would welcome Timothy Malenfant to the table. He will be at all our meetings as the Acting Head of our same sex division." He paused and there was a little smile. "It may be very interesting if yesterday is any indication. Do you have any comments, Mr. Malenfant." "Ladies and gentlemen, it is a one day wonder. No one will remember next week. I diffused a situation for one of my staff. I suspect we have more important matters at hand." Nodding, he looked at the Chair. "Hmm, well spoken, sir." They were off onto the agenda. He listened and watched the various factions in the partners, especially the issues that they thought were important. He made some notes in his tablet. He would transfer them to his home computer and delete them later in the day. He deferred to Mr. McNeil when it came to their department. There was no way that he was going to say anything as that would be deemed bad manners. His issues would arise in the weeks to come. The meeting ended with the official thank you to Mr. Neil for all his work in the firm and especially for the growth of his department. He was glad that they would have their meeting almost directly after this meeting. Their meeting went well and John acted as surprised as Andrew was. The other surprise was that Mr. McNeil let them know that he would be off for the rest of the week except for a small reception in the big conference room on Friday afternoon. The entire office was to attend. As they were leaving in the late afternoon, John came up to him. "Wish me luck. Movie and a drink tonight." "No not luck. Have a great time. Enjoy the evening to the full, no matter how you decide to end it. You want to be able to say that you had a good time and you will always remember it. You might not want to tell the kids the details." Timothy gave him a big smile and a little punch on his arm. "Boss, I like your style." That set Timothy back a bit. Andrew had used the word. He knew that that word would come but not so soon from both of them. Yeah, he was the boss and it was a good way that John told him. He now knew how he would have to react to John tomorrow. Any comments about his adventures tonight would have to be on John's terms. It was not the boss' role to ask tomorrow morning. There was a distance between them now. He felt slightly deflated. His promotion had finally really struck home in a way he had not anticipated. Jeremy was looking at Timothy with his head cocked to the side. "You look thoughtful tonight." "It was a good day. Meeting went well." He stopped and looked at his guy. "John called me 'boss' as he was leaving so did Andrew yesterday. I knew that it would come but not so dramatically. I guess it was good planning on my part to have John for supper and a chat last night before it all became official. Mr. McNeil is not returning to work this week. I am the head of a department tomorrow. I was enjoying John and I guess I saw him as a business friend. I feel a little down about it. The word 'deflated' came to my mind as he was leaving my office this afternoon." He sighed. "Ah, lover, I hate seeing you like this." Jeremy was beside him in an instance. He put his arms around him. "You'll see. It will work out. You can have some kind of relationship with him especially if things go the way I suspect they will at the movie and a drink. I am pretty sure that he will let you know how things went. If not tomorrow then later if they get closer. He knows that he can trust you. He may want to bounce things off you." Jeremy pulled Timothy close to him and gave him a kiss. Timothy smiled and kissed him back. "I keep saying it. You are so good for me." Their shirts were soon off and Timothy had his eyes closed and he looked deeply satisfied as Jeremy licked his nipples and bit them lightly. It was so comforting and romantic to be loved like that. They talked a bit more and then Timothy stood and pulled Jeremy up to him. They kissed again standing holding each other and it became more passionate. Many minutes later. Jeremy felt Timothy grow tense and shuddered as Timothy finished inside him. The wetness in his eyes told Jeremy how deeply Timothy was moved. Jeremy was not surprised when Timothy came out and leaned down and took him all the way with his mouth. Minutes later Jeremy tensed, held his breath as his body went rigid. Then he gasped as he let his body surrender to the waves that surged through him like a tidal wave of pleasure and release. Wave after wave.
