As Robert hugged Anna, she whispered in his ear that she was so glad that he and Michael have become friends. She had commented that it looked as if both both enjoyed each other. "We did and I am so glad that you and Lucas have bonded." "Lucas is a keeper." "So is Michael. He has fallen for you completely. I am so happy for both of you." The door closed. They turned off the lights. As they got to the bottom of the stairs. Lucas stopped and grabbed Robert and kissed him passionately. Robert broke the kiss and he raised his eyebrows. "Where did that come from? That's not a complaint!" "Anna is the most amazing person! I can't believe that you gave her up and took me." Robert grabbed Lucas and with determination, "Enough! Don't even think that." He put his arm around him and guided him up the stairs. The door to their room shut and Robert pulled Lucas to himself. The kiss was passionate and in seconds, Lucas' shirt, pants and shorts were on the floor. Robert leaned back looking at Lucas. "Fuck, you have no idea what you do to me." He went on to show Lucas exactly what he did to him and what he meant to him. This time it was Robert who entered Lucas passionately and then pulled out and lay on his back with his legs spread and knees bent. As Lucas entered him, Robert pulled him down and kissed him passionately again. "YOU ... are the centre of my life." Present They had breakfast and were at the door with his dads. It had been a great study week, especially ending it with his dads. It was an emotional farewell. His dads always enjoyed his and now their stays and they always felt that something was missing from their lives when they left. Lucas held up his and Robert's Powers of Attorney and told them that they would be in the glove compartment as soon as they were in the car. They could still feel the hugs as they turned off his street and headed for the autoroute. They had managed to miss only one day of runs but still, they knew that they had to do one that day and a workout at their usual time of 4 in the afternoon. They worked both in their room and at the library. They were not surprised that a lot of the team was there waiting for them. They chatted with the guys about their study week. It turned out that Hank had not had the money to go home. He would remind his dads and Philipo about possibly finding a job or jobs for Hank and Jason. He knew what their home towns were. He did give Philipo and his dads a call that evening. Paul had suggested at the workout that they go out for some supper with Brett and him. It was Robert who asked how the visit to Brett's went. Paul had rolled his eyes and simply muttered, "Tell you at supper." That had their attention. The guys figured that it must have been interesting but Paul had said supper with Brett and him so they had made it back to university in one piece. There were hugs when they arrived at the their Thai restaurant. They ordered. It was Lucas who looked at them. "OK, Robbie told me that he suspected that something happened at Brett's home. Spill!" A look passed between Paul and Brett. Brett sighed. "We arrived at about 11. My mother greeted us very warmly. She made Paul feel right at home. Paddy arrived with his girlfriend and we had a great time together. Dad and Marty arrived with the minister from their church and his wife. Dad hadn't bothered to tell my mother that there would be two extra for lunch. My mother gave my father a look of steel but she welcomed the new guests warmly. She stood up and looked at Paddy who stood up with her. His girlfriend followed them into the kitchen. They reset the table. In the meantime, we were left sitting in the living room." He turned looking at Paul. "This guy took over. He was fantastic." "Brett it was nothing!" "Nothing? He calmly looked at the preacher and said that he had heard a lot about him from the family and he was glad to meet him. He then turned to the preacher's wife and said that it was an honour to meet her. The preacher appeared not to know how to respond. The minister looked at Brett and said that he had heard that Brett was at the university and doing well in his courses. Then he said that he had heard some very discouraging news about Brett's activities there. Paul responded by saying that Brett was indeed doing very well in his courses and had expanded his studies to include a computer technology course. By that time, I was ready to jump in on the minister but Paul looked at the preacher and told him that as far he could see, Brett was having a brilliant year. At that point, my mother announced that lunch was ready." Paul spoke up. "His mother was incredible. She had set a lovely table with flowers and her best china. When I complimented her on the table, she gave me the most wonderful look. Then his father asked the preacher to say grace. Well, that was something else. He thanked god for the good food and the family values of this family. He asked that the food nourish our bodies and our souls. Then he asked to keep us from the temptations of sin, sins of the mind and body. He looked at me and then Brett when he said those final words about sins of the body. I saw the look on Brett's face so I kicked him under the table." They all started to laugh. It was Lucas who spoke up looking directly at Brett. "I bet family mode was almost upon you." "Damn right. The fucker." Louder chuckles. "I decided to follow what my guy was saying with the kick. I shut up." There were even more laughs and comments about how amazing it was that Brett had shut up. Paul started again, "Brett's mother took over and asked that the minister be served first and then his wife. It was lovely meal. As they neared the end of the main course, the minister congratulated her on a delicious meal. Coffee and dessert followed. That was when things went off the rails. The minister looked as if he HAD to say something. He looked over at the two guys and commented that he had heard that Brett and Paul were apparently in an unnatural, godless relationship. Again Paul took over. Paul had looked directly at the minister and told him that the bible says that we are all created in god's image and that if that was true then he and Brett must be in god's image as well. The minister could almost not talk he was so angry. The minister went on about the sins of the flesh and eternal damnation. Paul spoke up. "Jamie and I talked at Christmas and he told me about his meeting with Father Gregory many years ago and I let the minister have it with what Jamie had said (Unexpected, Chapter 9)." Brett interrupted. "After, when Paul had his say, the minister was beyond angry. No one in his congregation had ever contradicted him so thoroughly before. He tried to speak and Paul looked at him and very simply said John 8:7 and then Matthew 7:12. The minister took a minute to process that and threw down his napkin and told his wife that they were leaving. Brett's father was all solicitous and trying to calm things down. Marty didn't know what to do or say. His mother looked pleased." Robert, "What the hell is John 8:7 and Matthew 7:12. Don't look at me like that; I know they are from the bible!" Brett, "I had to look them up and now I know them by heart. John 8:7 'He that is without sin among you, let him first cast the stone at her' and Matthew 7:12 'all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them'. My guy is brilliant. He had researched all this before we visited my home. My mother and Paddy gave us a wonderful send off. My father and Marty were a little more reserved and that is said with Christian charity. I think that we will be invited back but I am certain that the minister will not be included. My dad may be sleeping in my old room again for a while." They all laughed yet again. Brett paused and then looked at Robert. "We got the greatest call from your Papa. I don't know how I have been so lucky this year. Paul and I have said yes to their arrangements for the summer jobs and we are so looking forward to our first trip to the chalet." Paul echoed his thanks. The next week went by quickly. They were having their evening meal when Lucas looked at Robert. "I saw something that might interest us today. There is a water polo match this weekend at the pool. Guess whose team that is playing our team." "No, not Anna's university team. That means ...." "That means that Wentworth will be playing." With a mischievous look, "We can't miss that. We have to cheer on our team." "Right, we have to support our home team. I am certain that some of them come to our games. It is Saturday afternoon at the pool. Luckily, no hockey game for us that day." They went on line to check how their team was doing to discover that they were third in the standings and Wentworth's team was in first place by a small margin. In fact, this was an important match for them to win to hold on to top spot. They both immediately started to read up on how water polo was played. They were able to download the names of their team members and their position. It turned out that they knew the captain. He was an economics student and they had seen him and had met him during their tryouts for the hockey team. They were ready and raring to go on Saturday. They turned up a bit early at the pool and were in the foyer when one of their water polo team spotted them and yelled out that the captains of the hockey team were here to watch them play. There was a lot of good natured comments between them and the water polo team. Lucas and Robert were really glad that they had come. It was obviously important to the team. In fact, they had mentioned it to their team at the last practice and quite a few turned up. Both Doug and Samuel had arrived and sat beside them. There was a lot of good banter. Yet again Doug and Samuel called him Mr. Malenfant. They were chatting to people they knew when the two teams came into the pool area. Wentworth's team came in last. Wentworth looked around the stands and saw Doug and Samuel and gave a small wave. Then he saw Robert beside them. His face became a mask. The game started and it was almost like a basketball game in water. It was fast and deadly. Robert was surprised at the number of fouls that were called and the incredible shape that guys had to be in. He was impressed by both teams. By the start of the last quarter, they were tied and it was clear that their team was anxious for a win. They played hard and fast. In the last minutes, their team scored two goals and won the match. The guys were impressed by the stamina of the players and were impressed by how well Wentworth played even though his team had lost the match. He was aggressive in a good way and he scored the most goals for his team. He also made a large number of fouls but they were not major fouls. They had cheered their team on and were on their feet clapping as the final buzzer went. They stayed around talking to people that they had met. Doug filled them in on the finer points of the game. He had played with Wentworth in high school and knew the game well. They finally went out as a group to congratulate their team. The team was really happy to see so many members of the hockey team there to support them. Robert realized that they should have been out for more games. Water polo did not draw the crowds that other teams drew. He would remember that. They were talking to the captain of the team when Wentworth and his team came out to the foyer. Wentworth stopped looked around and then walked with determination to their group. He congratulated the captain of their team and then turned to Robert. "I suppose that you are here to gloat." Robert decided that it was time to stop this nonsense between them. He bit back the negative retort that was on the tip of his tongue. "We are here to congratulate our team and now to congratulate you personally. I don't know a lot about water polo but as an athlete, I can recognize great play. You played an exceptional game. You are a team player and leader on the team. Your shots were incredible and your ball control fantastic. No major fouls. You played a great game. Congratulations." Wentworth didn't know what to say. Doug broke the silence. "Mr. Malenfant may not know much about water polo but he was spot on. Great game." Wentworth looked at Doug and then at Robert. "Thanks." He turned to Doug. "You want to join us at the pub?" Doug and Samuel indicated yes and Doug moved his head towards Robert and Lucas. Wentworth got the message. He looked at Robert and Lucas and then at the group. "Everyone is welcome to join us." Minutes later they were at the campus pub seated around several tables pulled together with members of both teams and a few from the hockey team. Robert decided that he would continue with his more civilized approach to Wentworth. He looked at Wentworth. "What can I get you?" Wentworh was surprised. He indicated a micro brew that he liked and then a couple of others if that was not available. Robert did the same for the captain of their team. He and Lucas came back with beer for themselves, Wentworth, their captain, Doug and Samuel. Eventually, Wentworth moved and sat beside Robert. "I guess I got you wrong." Robert's Dad and Papa had taught him the value of silence in some conversations. He just raised his eyebrows and remained silent as he looked intently at Wentworth. "OK, I was jealous. She had said a lot of good things about you. I was convinced that she still was connected to you. I over reacted. We had a huge fight the next day after your lunch and I left. Stupidly, I said some dumb things to her on the day I left and then about her to my friends before New Years. She wouldn't answer my calls or my emails." "Thomas, I am going to be blunt. You really didn't know the real Anna, the smart, intelligent, independent young woman that she is and ... you didn't keep your dick in you pants while you were dating her. Not good moves with Anna." He shrugged his shoulders. "I broke it off with her in June. I wanted both of us to enjoy our first term to the fullest. I was upset with myself for days afterwards; I wondered if I had made the biggest mistake of my life. She had admitted that she too was worried about a long distance relationship. We did in fact agree in June to meet at Christmas no matter what happened to us and our relationships. She met you and was very happy. I met someone and I am very happy. Sorry to be so blunt but that is the way it is. Please don't bad mouth Michael. He is a great guy and I know Anna well. She is very happy now. So I am." Again Wentworth didn't seem to know what to say. Finally, "Doug calls you Mr. Malenfant?" "I took a computer course last fall and did well in it. The professor asked me to be the TA in the course. He had family problems and I have taken over the class six times." "Giving lectures? A first year student?" He shrugged again. "I know the course very well and after the first lecture I did for him, he trusted me to take his place when his mother died. It seems to have worked out. The entire class treats me as one of their professors." His shrugging was becoming habitual. "Going back to what we first talked about, Thomas, there are lots of women out there for you. Life after Anna; in different ways, we have both dealt with it." Wentworth saw some members of his team standing up. He looked at his watch. "Oh shit, we have to meet the team and the bus in a few minutes." He stood up. Wentworth looked at him. "Thanks for the praise back at the pool. Thanks for the beer and the talk." "Have a good trip back and a good rest of the season." They shook hands. As they were walking back to their room, Robert told Lucas about his conversation with Wentworth. Lucas started to laugh. "You told him that he didn't keep his dick in his pants?" Lucas rolled his eyes. He muttered, "Only you would say something like that. Robert with a smile but shaking his head. "Trust you to remember the 'dick' comment. Can't get enough!" "Not with you I can't. God you looked good at the pool and at the pub. Good enough to eat." "An interesting suggestion. I am ready to eat. You?" That question was answered very quickly when they entered their room. The menu was varied. It started with the mouth and a kiss. Then it was bites to the neck, the nipples. The nipples received the biggest moans and groans. Then it was a tongue bath down the chest, stomach and treasure trail. Together they licked and sucked the others balls until they were wet and very sensitive. Then Robert turned Lucas over and the tongue went to work on the crack and the rosebud. Well they both figured that if licking an ice cream cone was a form of eating, then .... The probing tongue in the hole was exactly that and then the finger that went in and moved back and forth. Soon it was Lucas doing what Robert had done a few minutes before. Robert trembled as the tongue went into him; Lucas had a tongue that he could narrow and it was much longer than Robert's. Robert was very vocal. Finally they turned to each other in a classic 69 and started the main course of their desire. It was Robert who called out for Lucas to just suck the head harder and harder. Robert couldn't stop moving or whimpering his pleasure. It was Robert's deep throating that got the most noise and movement from Lucas. Lucas was almost beyond language and words. Somewhere off in the distance, Lucas felt Robert's mouth come off him and he heard the muttered 'oh fuck' from Robert and then Lucas savoured each pulse as it poured into his mouth. Then as Robert finished, Lucas felt the attack of Robert's mouth on him again and in seconds, he was filling his lover's mouth with shot after shot. It was Robert with his head cocked to the side looking down at Lucas. "Some eating. Some meal." Robert pulled Lucas up to him and they kissed tasting themselves and the other. The next week the workouts and practises were rough and strategic. They were at the top of the league and only had a few games left. As they left the final practice before the game on Saturday, Coach asked Robert if he had any insights on the team the next day. Robert smiled and nodded yes. The Coach looked at him and smiled back. "I can wait. Hope it is good stuff." They had a quick supper and went out to the dance club. Paul and Brett joined them and they had a great time talking and dancing. They were beginning to recognize guys who were there as usual. None yet had recognized them as the captains of the hockey team. They left early as they knew the importance of the next day. They won. They played a smart, tough but fair game. They out shot and out played the other team. Their big game was the following week with the second place team. The game was in their arena. In mid week they went to watch their water polo team win again. They were the top of the league as Wentworth's team had a dismal showing and lost. Their assignments were in and they were up to date on the their reading and course work. They had their last light work out on Friday and were really up for the Saturday game. They arrived back at their room to find the saved message light on. Lucas pressed the play button. The message was from the Dean of Computer Technology who asked Robert to phone him as soon as he could and he would be in until 5. Robert quickly took the number down and then checked his watch. It was 4:45. The Dean answered himself. "Robert, I am so glad that you could get back to me. I would appreciate it if you could come over to my office as soon as you can this afternoon. Please don't be alarmed. There is no problem concerning you but you may be able to help me and the department. A little cryptic but I would like to talk to you person to person." Robert told him that he would be there in 10 minutes. Lucas had a worried look on his face. Robert outlined the call. Robert breathed out and shook his head. "I can't even begin guess what this about. I'll phone as soon as we are finished. If I don't call before 5:45, go to supper. I'll phone your mobile and meet you where ever you are. This has got to be some complication. Will they ever stop?" Lucas grabbed him and gave him a kiss and held him tightly. "I suspect he needs your help and it probably has something to do with your TA position or that class." "Who knows!" He gave him a look. "The kiss helped. I could use another." Lucas leaned over and and kissed him again, a little longer and Lucas' hands started to roam over Robert's body. Robert started to laugh. "Don't start something that we can't finish now. Doesn't mean that I am not enjoying it. Quite the opposite." Another quick peck and he was out the door. The Dean's door was open and he must have heard Robert arrive. The Dean came to the door. "Thanks so much for coming. I know that you had a practice today and a game tomorrow. I'll be at it by the way. I saw your last game. Impressive, young man." He ushered Robert into his office. "OK, I am not going to beat around the bush. Your professor was taken to the hospital today. It appears that he had a minor stroke, heart attack or a TIA. They are checking him over as we speak. I would like you to take over his class that you are in for the remainder of the academic term; that is another 3 weeks. I shall make certain but he will set the exam and mark it. I know how busy you are. I shall address the next class and outline our solution." "This is not how I thought that my day would end. I have to speak to my partner and to my hockey coach. If all is OK with them, my answer will be yes. Please, give me this evening. I'll contact you early tomorrow before I meet the team." "Your partner?" "Lucas Stephenson who is the other co-captain of the team. We have been together since the beginning of this academic year. We make decisions together. Coach will have to make plans." "Mr. Malenfant, you impress and surprise me every time that we meet. I want you to think about another possibility. Professor Robertson may want some time off next year. Would you be interested in teaching this course next year? That is not a job offer as such but I would like you think about it and I want a chance to see how Professor Robertson will want to proceed as he recuperates." "My head is swirling at this point. I shall talk this over with Lucas and Coach and I shall get back to you first thing tomorrow morning." "Thank you so much for contacting me so quickly. I would wish you a good evening but I suspect it will be difficult but interesting. I am off to the hospital." Robert confirmed which hospital that his professor had been taken to. His head really was swimming. Ideas, thoughts were swirling all over the place. He needed to sit down and eat. Lucas would ground him and see it in a different way. Lucas picked up on second ring. "That didn't last as long as I expected. I am still in the room." "I need food and your good brain. How about the Thai restaurant? I need interesting tastes, vegetables and protein. I can be there in 10 minutes." "OK I get it. Talk over food. Must be important. See you in 10." Lucas knew him so well. Robert liked seeing people face to face, much like the Dean this afternoon. Robert didn't even remember his walk to the restaurant. So many ideas were going through his mind. He did need his guy there to organize and sort it for him. He was suddenly in front of the restaurant and he had arrived before Lucas. He took a seat at a table for two and told the waiter that he was waiting for a friend but that he needed some Thai tea. He was so disoriented that he talked to the waiter in French and had to quickly switch to English. He was sipping the delicately flavoured drink as Lucas came in and spotted him. "Had to close down the computer and change my clothes. I was pretty grubby. You look stressed." Robert made a frustrated noise. "I don't even remember walking here." "OK, lets order and then you tell your guy what's up." They did exactly that. "My professor is in the hospital. They aren't sure yet but it could be a stroke, a TIA or a heart attack." "Shit there are still 3 weeks left of classes." Lucas shrugged and looked at him intently. "He wants you take over the class. Right?" "Exactly but I have my other classes and hockey finals. I just can't get my head around it. One lucky thing is that there are only two weeks of lectures and then a week meeting students who want help." "You said last term that we were a team. Let's act like one now. I can take over most of the captain's duties and I am going to help organize your time and do anything extra that needs to be done. You always review the material for that class before you go to it. Now you will have to do that and decide how to present it. Maybe I can do some of the computer work for you. I am behind you one hundred percent. We can find a way. They need you to do this for the department. Did you make a commitment?" "I said that I wanted to talk it over with my partner and Coach." "OK basic question. Do you want to do it?" "I like the professor and the students. I know the material and can certainly do the classes. Yes if you and Coach are OK with it." He smiled. "With your comments, one down?" Lucas nodded yes. "I guess that I had better phone Coach." He did phone Coach immediately and asked if they could have a quick meeting with him. He let him know that it wasn't a big problem. "So let me get this clear. The Dean has asked one of my co-captains, a first year student, to take over the professor's classes for the rest of the academic term. Your partner, the other co-captain, is prepared to take over most of your role as team co-captain and back you up in the course if it is necessary." Coach started to chuckle. "You guys are incredible. Is there anything else that you should tell me?" He looked at them with mischievous smile. "Just tell me that one of you isn't pregnant?" The guys looked at each other. Lucas with a sigh of deep regret, "No Coach but we have tried hard." Robert was certain that people several offices away could hear their laughter. It was one of the first times that Coach had let down his facade of the strict, no nonsense coach. Robert needed that release. Still chuckling, "Guys, you know that I trust you. Do what you have to do. Next thing that I expect to hear is Robert has been hired by the Computer Technology Department to teach." Robert looked at Lucas apologetically. "Sorry, Lucas, in all the talk and planning, I forgot to mention this." He looked at Coach and then back at Lucas. "The Dean asked me if I might take the class over next September. He said that it was not a job offer but would I even consider it. A lot depends on Professor Robert's health and what he wants to do next year." There was silence in the room for seconds. "Alright, I think that I shall shut up and let you two get on with you lives. Robert thanks for the heads up; I really appreciate how you both handle matters like this. See you tomorrow. Get some sleep." Smart ass, as Robert was to call Lucas very shortly after they left Coach, "Will I have to call you sir when I meet you in the halls." Robert made a face. "No just bow and prostrate yourself before me as I pass by." "Did you just say that that would have to bow and offer you my prostate?" "You may be a smart ass but at least you can spell." Laughing, come on, let's get back to our room. I have some work to do and perhaps you could start the practice of offering me your prostate." "I am certain that it will be my pleasure." "Clever, bugger." "I wouldn't mind being buggered either." A few hours later, Robert had his lecture for Monday ready and he had started on the Wednesday lecture. And then, Robert did give Lucas a lot of pleasure. As they lay in bed holding each other close after incredible finishes, Lucas announced that he had been well buggered. Robert grabbed him and kissed him telling him he was a hell of a guy and told him that as usual, it was a team effort. They both felt so close. Comments I have had some feedback from some readers who were trying to read some of my previous stories. If you go to Authors on Nifty and find my name, when you try to access Surprised Eric and Dave from the Authors list, it doesn't connect to anything. Surprised Graham and Robert is just not there. If you want to read them, use the date and category, Adult-Friends or Beginnings etc. and go the appropriate category and date and they are there and active. If you liked this story, you might want to read the others that I have published on Nifty. In particular, my first story, Unexpected Change which has had the most positive comments and one of my other favourites, What a Difference a Year Makes.
