Please take a few moments, if you liked the story, to say so. Thank you.** . . . Epilogue . . . The night was cold and the wind here in New Haven was raw and howling. I was wrapped around Kori but he was complaining that my feet were cold and it was time we both started the day. For just a moment I had a flashback to when we first were here and visited Professor at Yale just a little more than twenty years ago. Where did that time go? When Liam went off to Harvard I decided to accept an offer to join Professor at Yale. I sold the farm and everything in Ashfield and took a position at Yale. Kori finished at Yale and went on to receive his doctorate in archaeology at Brown University and is now here with me at Yale as an assistant professor. To think Kori is now 32 and me well I'm 45 with my Ph.D in history and yes Kori remains at my side. We have never been far apart. The love is stronger than ever. Liam is now 30 married to Abby with twin boys almost two. Liam is finishing his Ph.D in sociology and Abby is a high school teacher at a Boston school. The phone rang as Kori and I were about to leave and it was Abby asking if we wanted to go skiing this weekend. Please allow me to translate that question . . . . Translation = "Hi, Liam and I are going skiing do you and Kori want to come along and baby sit while Liam and I ski?" I told Kori it was up to him. = Jake didn't get any smarter with his Ph.D and now we are going to babysit while Abby and Liam ski. Now remember Peter? Well when Liam and Abby had the twins Peter, smart mouth, called me "Gramps" and it stuck! Speaking of Peter ......... Peter went on to get his degree from Rhode Island School of design. He is a well known sculpture both throughout New England and France. He and Neil have been together for 19 years and moved to Maine and also have a studio in Valberg, France where they spend summers. Peter's mom is their business manager and it's good because Neil isn't good at business but he loves Peter to the end of the arth. We heard from Ian not long ago. Ian remained here at Yale and also has his Ph.D in history and teaches at the University of Munich, Germany. We see Ian about twice a year and he brings with him his life partner. Ian always asks for Garret and sometime they get to see each other. Garret's story is really interesting. Garret developed this fascination for English literature and all I can say is that this is an amazing story. Garret ended up going to England and was a student at Kings College earning his degree in English Lit. Now we did introduce Garret to Jonah, Simon, Peter, and Luke but what happened was just never thought of. Garret and Simon ended up at Kings College, Cambridge at the same time. They knew each other, then it just happened, they fell in love and have been together ever since. Simon is a mechanical engineer and with Garret they both teach at a private high school in London. They are very close to Peter who is now a Barrister practicing in the Higher Courts and Luke who is a police officer and a new dad. Now Jonah is a Granddad and when Peter and Neil are in France they need to go visit Jonah so Peter can call Jonah "Gramps" for me. Congratulations "Gramps" ! We don't get to see Riku very much. Riku went on to study music at Juilliard School of Music, New York City. Riku returned to Japan where he is an accomplished violinist with the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and has played under the direction of Joe Hisaishi in Japan wide appearances. Jonah likes to say he's retired but that just ain't so. He has taken more kids under his wing, can't stay away from church more than 24 hours and is constantly keeping after young Jacob to see he's walking the straight and narrow. Jonah we became more than friends we are and always will be family. I will miss our visits and if you don't stay in touch I'll be really pissed off. Kori found some tea from Africa and thinks you would like it. It is strong, how strong you ask . . . . . well Kori left a spoon in it for about 6 minutes and all that was left was the handle. Sadly the day has come to an end and Kori and I had Liam's favorite dinner of Shepherd's Pie, along with slices of garlic bread, Peter's favorite and to finish dinner we had ice-cream with strawberries. As most evenings end I will sit on the couch with my boy cuddled close, my head will nod a few times and Kori will grab my hand and tug me off to the shower. The night will be cold but the bed will be warm and I will again be wrapped around this beautiful gentle and amazing boy.
