Bryce's foster father wasn't sure what he expected to find on the recording, but he was still afraid that Bryce was taking things away from his sons. Before he left for the wedding, he had closed and locked his own bedroom door, shut Johnny's door and placed a small piece of paper high-up in the crack surrounding the door, so he could see if anyone had tried to enter the room, and then he set the camcorder up on the shelf in Tommy's room, where the boys wouldn't be likely to notice it. He wanted to see if Bryce was stealing anything or if he was casing the room, to see what he might be able to take later. As he sat down and fast-forwarded through the recording, he slowed it to normal speed when he saw the boys enter the room. At first he wasn't too upset when he saw the boys performing mutual masturbation on each other, because he remembered when he and his friends had done similar things, but he began to lose control later, when he saw them kissing and then swapping blowjobs. He wanted to run upstairs, grab Bryce and throw him out of his house, but he knew he couldn't do that tonight. He had been talked into letting that faggy little bastard into their house and now he was corrupting his son and luring him into practicing depravity. He just couldn't allow that and felt he had to remove Satan's spawn from his home before he corrupted both of the boys for good. If his wife was awake when he went upstairs, then he'd tell her now, but everyone would know tomorrow that Bryce was on his way out and would be gone just as soon as he could arrange it. The next morning, things got very tense around the breakfast table. Bryce's foster father had already informed his wife about the recording and had even made her watch it. Although she hated spying on the boys like this, let alone watching them in such intimate situations, she knew that her husband was not going to listen to reason on this one. She'd had her fill of listening to him rant and rave last night, before he came to bed, and she was surprised he hadn't awakened the boys with his bellowing. It took all her womanly wiles to keep him from exploding, but she couldn't stop him this morning, and he confronted Tommy about it, the minute he was awake. He took Tommy downstairs, turned on the recording he had of the two of them and asked Tommy to explain what in the hell he thought he was doing. Tommy was furious that his father had not only set a trap for them, but he had recorded him in his own room. Tommy was not only livid, but he was also totally embarrassed when he discovered that his mother had watched the recording too. Now, he wouldn't even speak to his father or look him in the eye. He just ran up to his room and slammed the door, planning to stay in there for the rest of the day. His mother went up to coax him out, but he wouldn't speak to her either. He was mortified that she had not only seen him naked, but she also watched Bryce and him together. Sure, she had seen his penis when he was younger, but not since he had reached puberty, but to see him enjoying sex with another boy, that was just too much for him to cope with. She brought up his breakfast and lunch to him and left everything in his room, hoping he would eat, but he only took a few bites throughout the day. She did her best to try to talk to Tommy, so she could help heal the family, but he let her know that would never happen. He explained that if Bryce were forced to leave, although he hoped that wouldn't happen, he would never forgive his father for spying on him and then showing it to her too. He was angry now, but he informed her it would be even worse if his father blamed it all on Bryce and made him go. Now, she began to realize this was a major problem and some very raw wounds had been exposed that would not heal quickly. Tommy told her he might forgive his father some day for recording them, just not right away, but he'd never forgive him if he made Bryce leave. His mother realized that her husband would never give in on this, so now she began to worry about how her family was going to survive this crisis. When Johnny got home, he walked into a hornet's nest, without any prior warning. He was surprised that Tommy hadn't come over to his friend's house to help his carry his stuff home, but he just assumed his brother was either sick or busy, so he thought nothing more about it, but now he discovered there was something else going on. Although his parents didn't opt to tell him what the problem was at this time, they did inform him that Bryce would be leaving and his father would be talking to him and Tommy again, once Bryce had departed. After hearing this, Johnny went up to his room, but first he went in to talk to Tommy, to see if he could learn more about what this was all about. That's when he was told the brief version about what had happened. When Johnny asked how Bryce was doing, Tommy realized he hadn't actually thought about how Bryce might be feeling, since he was so focused on the fact that his father had been spying on him, in his own room no less, and his mother had seen him naked and doing stuff on the recording. Now, the brothers talked about going to Bryce's room and asking him about it, but they were worried about how their father might respond, if he realized they were comforting Bryce. After some discussion, they decided they weren't about to let what their father MIGHT do stop them. They would do this together, because they were convinced that as long as they stuck together and remained united, the two of them could handle anything their father wanted to dish out. With a new determination, the brothers walked down to Bryce's room, to see how he was taking this. They both really liked Bryce and were worried about how he was handling what had happened. Tommy knocked lightly on Bryce's door, but didn't get an answer, so he opened the door and peeked in. When Bryce didn't react, they went inside, with Johnny closing it behind them. Bryce didn't even turn to see who was there and merely lay on the cot, with his head buried, face down, in the pillow. The boys sidestepped closer to him in this narrow space and then they reached out, so they could lovingly touch him. This shocked Bryce and he spun around on the cot to see who was there, but he relaxed when he saw who it was. It was obvious that all three boys had been crying, because none of them wanted to be separated like this, but they weren't convinced they could find a way to keep it from happening. Tommy and Bryce then filled Johnny in about the details of what he had missed out on and talked about what they might do next. They even discussed what they thought it was going to be like, if their father actually made Bryce leave. None of them were happy about this, but Tommy told the other two that he'd never forgive his father for having done this and that he'd never speak to him again. Johnny said that he'd do the same thing, but Tommy told him he didn't want him to get into trouble because of what he'd done and what he was about to do. Johnny said he didn't care if he got in trouble, so if Tommy wasn't going to speak to their dad, then neither would he. It seemed the lines were now drawn in the sand, even though Bryce had tried to talk both of his foster brothers out of what they were planning to do. He didn't want to be responsible for driving a wedge between them and their father, because that was the sort of relationship he'd always wanted for himself. Unfortunately, he was ineffective in his efforts to convince them to forgive their dad and the two boys began to devise the strategy they were going to use against him. The situation escalated at dinnertime, when the two boys came down to the table and declared their intentions. Seeing Tommy hadn't come downstairs all day, his parents were surprised to see him, but then he and Johnny marched up to their parents, looked their father in the eye, and Tommy began to speak. "Johnny and I have talked this over and we've decided that if you send Bryce away, neither one of us will ever speak to you again." His father stopped what he was doing and glared at his elder son, which sent an icy chills down the boy's spine. Both boys almost wilted right then and there, but Tommy summoned up his courage and glared back at his father. "What did you just say?" his father demanded. "You heard what I said," Tommy declared. "It's not fair and Bryce isn't at fault here. Johnny and I were doing those things before he even got here and we're the ones who taught him. You can't punish Bryce for what we taught him and what we all did." Their father studied his two sons briefly, before he answered them. "Nice try, guys, and I admire your loyalty and guts, but you two aren't homos and would never have known about those types of things. I know whom you really learned to do those things from and who is to blame. He must have picked that crap up at one of those other places he lived and then showed them to you. No, I'm not going to give in on this and he'll be leaving tomorrow or the day after." "It's not fair," Johnny screamed next, "Tommy is telling you the truth. We've been doing those things for a while now and then we showed Bryce what we were doing after he got here. He wasn't the one that taught us." "I cannot and will not believe that," their father shouted back. "There's no way that could have happened. Your mother is calling DSS first thing tomorrow morning and he'll be gone just as soon as they can come and get him." "We're not kidding, Dad," Tommy shouted. "If you send him away, Johnny and I will never talk to you again." "Don't you dare threaten me, young man!" his father warned him. "I make the rules in this house, not you. You will do as I say and I don't want to hear any more of your foolishness." "I hate you," Tommy screamed at his father, with Johnny adding his "me too" right after him. Their father's face was a bright crimson about then and he had all he could do not to reach out and slap both of his sons. The boys weren't budging though and his wife sat rigid at the other end of the table, her eyes bulging out and her mouth hanging open, afraid of what was going to happen next. "That's it," their father shouted. "Both of you go to your rooms right now and I don't want to see you again until you stop questioning my decisions and can show some respect." He was pointing for them to leave the room and the boys started to, but not without protesting first. Before he left the room, Tommy offered up a parting shot. "Then you'll probably never see us again," he hissed. That was the straw that broke the camel's back, and their father leaped from his chair, so he could chase after them and teach them a lesson. Just as he rose, his wife screamed. "No! That's enough. You've already torn this family apart with your display of childish attitude and paranoia, but if you touch those boys, I'll be packing the three of us up and we'll leave – for good." "So you want me to let them get away with talking back to me like that?" he asked. "It would never have come to this, if you'd been acting like an adult since Bryce joined our family," she answered. "Oh, so now it's my fault for wanting to protect my sons," he responded, in disbelief. "It's your fault for making a mountain out of a molehill," he told him. "You perceived that boy as a threat even before he got here and worried that we would be spending money on him that should go to our boys. If the truth was told, you've actually been stealing from him. We haven't even spent the full amount of money on him that we got in the checks from DSS, so in reality, you've been taking from him, not the other way around! Even worse than that, you've been treating him like a slave. "And the fact that you put a camera in Tommy's room to spy on them," she continued, "that is utterly indefensible. Maybe if we had suspected them of doing drugs, stealing from us or something like that, but you just put it in there because you wanted to see what they were up to. You stripped them of their right to privacy without cause, so I don't blame them for hating you for that. Let's face it, you've ruined your relationship with the entire family over this and none of us will ever have the same amount of respect for you that we once did." "So you approve of them doing all that gay shit?" he challenged. "Damn it, they're only boys and they're going to do some sexual experimentation," she shot back. "How the hell would you have felt if your parents had filmed you doing shit like that?" She paused to give him a chance to respond, but he couldn't come up with an answer. "I only pray that you haven't permanently damaged their sexual development with your conduct and by making such a big deal over it. Let's face it, dear, you acted like an ass and left the boys very few options for how they might react to what you did." "The hell with all of you then," he told her. "You can all leave if you want, but I want that little cocksucker out of here, as soon as possible. I will not back down and I will not change my mind. Those are my orders and I expect them to be followed." "Oh, the king is giving us commands, is he?" she spat back, distastefully. "Well, you can count on this much, it will be the final command you ever give to any of us, your royal highness. We won't ever bow or scrape to you again, and I'll get Bryce out of here too, but not because you've ordered it. I'm only willing to do it to protect him, because I fear for his safety with you around. The boys and I will be leaving too and I'll take care of them by myself from now on. As far as I'm concerned, you can have your castle, because you've single- handedly managed to destroy our family." "I didn't do that and you're not blaming ME for it," he replied. "You were the one who did that when you brought an outsider into our home." "No, you can't blame it on that, because the rest of us have had no problems with him being here," she pointed out. "You were the only one with a problem, most likely something related to an emotional trauma you suffered during potty training." "I don't have to listen to this shit. This is my house," he stated. "Check the mortgage papers, sire," she said, mockingly. "The deed has both of our names on it, not just yours, but I'll happily sign my share over to you, if it would guarantee that you'd grow up or gain some common sense." With that, his wife stormed out of the room and went up to talk to the boys. They were all in Johnny's room crying and trying to comfort each other about what was happening. Their mother came in, sat on the bed and then asked them all to sit beside her. When they did, she put her arms around them and tried to calm them down. "Can't you talk Dad out of this?" Johnny asked her. "I don't think I can," she told them, "but I also think it will be best for Bryce to leave." "You agree with Dad?" Tommy screamed, incredulously. "No, I don't, but I'm afraid it will get even worse for him if he stays," she answered. "If he remains here now, especially if it happens because we made your father back down, then your dad will treat him ten times worse than he did before. No, it's really better for Bryce if he leaves, because I'm truly worried about his safety." "No, Mom, you can't make him go," Tommy pleaded. "He's our brother now and you wouldn't send one of us away, would you?" Bryce jumped in at this point and saved her from having to answer that no-win question. "Your mother's right and I'll be fine," he told them. "I don't want to leave you either, but your dad would really be after me now. This was only temporary anyway, because they didn't have enough foster homes in my county, but I thank you for sticking up for me like that. I don't want to be the one to cause you guys to fight and argue, so it's best that I leave." "No way," Tommy told him, "it wasn't you who caused this fight and even if you do leave, we won't ever forgive Dad, not this time. Whether you leave or stay, I no longer have a father." "Me either," Johnny added. "This really sucks. We got somebody to live here that we really liked and got close to, but then Dad has to go and ruin it for us." "Boys, we're going to be leaving for a while too, once Bryce is gone," their mother told them, "I'm not sure if it will be permanent or just until your father calms down. I suspect you'll eventually forgive him for his stupid stunts, but I think that will happen faster if we're not around each other for a while. You know he loves you, in his own warped way." "Maybe he loves us, but you're wrong, Mom. I won't ever forgive him for this," Tommy reiterated. "He spied on me in my own room, the place that I'm supposed to be free to do things in private. How would he like it if we put the camcorder in your room and then watched you two making love?" "Well that's not quite the same thing, dear, but I get your point," his mother told him. "It IS the same and he'd explode if anyone did that to him, so I won't ever speak to him again," Tommy stated once again. "I know you don't think I can do that, but you just watch. I won't even go visit him in the hospital if something happens to him and I won't go to his funeral when he dies." "Tommy, that's a terrible thing to say," she warned him. "Maybe, but I mean every word of it," he stated, without backing down. "Let's leave and go find a place of our own, without Dad." "We're going to leave for a while and I'm going to consider our options," she replied. "Whether I file for divorce and we move away from here permanently is still up in the air. We all have a lot to consider and we shouldn't be making any decisions in the heat of the moment." "Dad did," Tommy challenged. "He didn't stop and think anything over or listen to whatever we had to say. As far as I'm concerned, I'd be a lot happier getting away from him for good." "Me too," Johnny added, "and then we could take Bryce with us." Their discussion continued for a while longer, but what none of them realized was that their father had quietly crept up the stairs and was standing in the hallway outside the door. He had heard most of this exchange, so now he was hurting, once he realized how deeply his boys actually despised him now. Even though this bothered him, he figured they'd eventually get over it, but he was convinced he was doing the right thing and it was for their own good, so he wasn't about to give in and change his stance. Silently, he tiptoed down to his room, went inside and noiselessly shut the door. Then he lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling, replaying the comments he had heard everyone make earlier. The rest of the evening was the longest and most unsettling any of them had ever experienced, but everyone seemed to be sticking to their guns. The boys tried to spend as much time together as they could, since they figured that if they were going to be separated then they'd make the most of the time they still had. Tommy and Johnny didn't care whether their father liked this or not, they were doing this for Bryce and themselves. They did this in Johnny's room, because his room was the one that was farthest away from their parents' bedroom. The three of them even agreed to spend the night together, sleeping in Johnny's bed. Tommy and Bryce had closed the doors to their rooms before they left, to give the illusion that they were in there, and then they all gathered in Johnny's room. Once they were all inside, they took the chair from his desk and wedged the back of it under the doorknob, so no one could intrude on them or do any more spying. They didn't need to worry, however, because their parents were preoccupied with their own problems. Seeing their father was already in the bedroom, their mother grabbed a blanket and a pillow before heading downstairs, where she slept on the sofa. That gave both their mother and father enough to worry about, so they didn't even think about the boys. The boys didn't do anything sexual that evening, because they were too upset and too afraid that they'd end up making matters worse, but they did put Bryce in the middle, so the three of them could cuddle together. Their bodies managed to intertwine during the evening, as they tossed and turned in their sleep, and they would have resembled a litter of puppies to anyone that looked in on them. Each of them awoke periodically throughout the night, sometimes after a bad dream and sometimes just because of the uncertainty over what was going to happen next. None of them was very rested when they awoke the next morning, but they waited until they were sure their father had left for work before they would even go downstairs for breakfast. It was a very somber time for all of them. While they were eating, Bryce asked his foster mother a question. "Should I pack my things to take with me?" he wanted to know. "No, dear. Nothing will happen until you return home from school," she replied, "and we're not even certain if anything will happen today. I think it would be best if we just left everything where it is right now, but it is time for the three of you to get ready for school." Once the three boys were ready to leave, they ambled out of the house and waited in silence for the bus. Their friends were unaware of what had happened and tried to joke around with them on the bus, but none of them were in the mood for such things. Johnny quickly told the others to knock it off, but then he explained the reason they were all bummed out. It was very difficult for him to verbalize this to their friends and admit that their father was making Bryce leave. When the other boys asked why their father was doing this, Tommy told them that their father never wanted to take in a foster child and didn't want anyone but family staying there. When they asked why he did it in the first place then, Tommy told them his father had given in to their mother, since she had wanted more children. The other boys seemed to accept this, although they did comment that it stunk, before they all told Bryce how much they'd miss him. They also stated that they hoped he didn't have to go too far away and was still able to go to school with them. Tommy, Johnny and Bryce went through the rest of the day like zombies and didn't remember much about what went on in any of their classes. They were all just as quiet on the bus ride home, so when the bus pulled up at their stop, the three of them got off and silently shuffled their way toward the house. The minute they walked through the door, their mother greeted them and relayed the news they'd all been dreading. That's because she advised Bryce that he needed to run upstairs and pack up his belongings, because his caseworker would be coming by to pick him up in the following morning. Bryce tried not to react to this news, but it was impossible to miss the sad expression that suddenly came over his face after he'd been told this. Try as he might, it was the one thing he couldn't manage to hide. He ran upstairs quickly, but the moment he reached the top of the landing, he could hear how his foster brothers were handling this news downstairs. They completely lost it and an emotional outburst ensued. "Mom, can't you make it so he can stay?" Johnny pleaded. "Please, Mom, we'll do anything, just don't let him go," Tommy added. Bryce could tell that both boys were crying. He could hear it in their voices. Their mother also had to deal with the pitiful looks on her sons' faces and seeing them looking so sad nearly broke her heart. Although she would have liked to be able to change things, she knew that would be unfair to Bryce and he'd be the one to suffer, even more than he already had. No matter how much she might have liked to have him stay, she knew it couldn't be. "I'm sorry, boys, but there's nothing I can do now," she stated, in a very soft voice. "Your father's mind is made up and the caseworker has been notified, so all I can do now is try to find out where he's going to be living, so maybe I can take you to visit him from time to time." "That will be nice, but I'd rather have him here," Johnny told her. "And I hate Dad," Tommy spat out. "I don't care what you say or do to me, I still hate him." After saying that, he raced up the stairs and into Bryce's room. Bryce had just finished putting his things into the trash bag he had used when he had moved here, and Tommy plopped down on the cot, sobbing hysterically. Bryce tried to console him, which seemed like a reversal of roles, but Tommy wasn't buying any of that. Before long, Johnny was in there with them and the tears were streaming down his face as well. Eventually, their mother showed up too and did her best to console the trio. "Tommy and Johnny, I want you both to go to you room and pack up as many of your clothes as you can in your suitcase, because we're going to be leaving," she advised them. "We'll all spend the night at a motel and then come back here in the morning, because the caseworker will be picking Bryce up here. Then, we're going to go stay with my parents for a while." "Did you tell them what Dad did?" Tommy asked. "Yes, your grandma and grandpa understand what's been going on here," she confirmed. "Did you tell them what we did too?" Tommy screamed. "No, I only told them that your father was throwing Bryce out and that we were all upset and needed some time to be away from him," she explained "So you didn't tell them about the sex stuff and you're not going to show them the video?" Tommy pressed. "No, dear! I would never do that," she responded. "Besides, I already made sure that recording has been erased." After hearing this, Tommy began to calm down a little and then Johnny and he went to pack their clothes and a few other things they wanted to take with them, in a suitcase. After they left his room, Bryce turned and spoke to his foster mother. "Please don't do this because of me," he pleaded. "I don't want to be the cause of your family breaking apart." "Don't worry, dear, you aren't," she told him. "It's my husband who created this mess, but I do feel that he and the boys should be apart for a while, if they have any chance of getting over this. I just wish I could take you with us." "Don't worry about me, because I'll do fine," Bryce assured her, "but I'm worried about Tommy and Johnny. They need to be close to their father." "They always have been, and it's sweet of you to think of them before yourself, but I'm not sure if that's possible any longer," she confessed. "They might eventually calm down and maybe even forgive him, but I'm not so sure they'll ever idolize their father the same way they used to. He's made some major blunders and he'll probably end up paying very dearly for everything he's done." "Are you planning to leave him for good?" Bryce wondered. "I'm not sure yet, but I definitely will, if he continues to act like an ass." She answered, and then she hesitated for a second before she spoke again. "Excuse my language, dear, but there was no better way I could have said that." Bryce just nodded in understanding. "Are you sure he'll let you come back, if you leave now?" Bryce asked her. "I'm not positive, but I don't really believe he wants this family to break apart either," she observed. "He's just a chauvinist and a despot. He's stuck in the past and was raised to glorify the time when men were the unquestioned masters over nearly everything within their domain, and he doesn't realize that society and time have passed him by. He'll learn eventually, but it's just that I'm not certain how long it will take." "But what if he doesn't learn or give in?" Bryce pressed. "Then he'll probably be left totally alone," she answered. "My parents will help the boys and me, so we'll be fine, but my husband's fate will be totally in his own hands." Bryce was about to say something more, but Tommy and Johnny returned at that moment, so he let it drop. They all took their things downstairs and he helped his foster family load their belongings into the family car. Then, all got in the car and drove away. Bryce's foster mother had reserved two rooms, one for the boys and another for her. After settling in, they talked for a while and watched some television, before she took them out to eat. After dinner, they talked about a lot of different things, but mostly about trying to keep in touch and reassuring each other that everything would be fine. After their mother went back to her room, the boys decided to enjoy their final round of oral sex with each other, before they cleaned up and turned in for the night. Bryce tried to remember every detail of what he was doing this time and opted to do both of his foster brothers himself, so they'd all have this final session to remember about their time together. Once they'd all climaxed, the hopped into bed together, with Bryce in the middle again. After shedding a few more tears over what was about to happen, they slept cuddled together for the remainder of the night. The following morning, their mother called their room to wake them and then they got dressed, so they could return home. Their father's car was gone by the time they got there, so they went inside and their mother fixed them breakfast. After they'd eaten, they sat together on the sofa commiserating about what was going to happen next. When his caseworker arrived to pick-up her charge, Bryce placed his things in her vehicle and then he kissed his foster mother and then he hugged her and his foster brothers, before he joined his caseworker in the front seat. Bryce looked out the side window as they were driving away and the members of his foster family were all waving at him as they drove away. Bryce waved back and then he saw them all get into their car again, because they were heading to their grandparents, instead of going to school today. He saw the car doors all close, just before the vehicle he was in turned the corner and he couldn't see them any longer. As they drove along, the caseworker tried to engage Bryce in conversation, but he was too lost in his own thoughts. He couldn't help but feel responsible for breaking the family up and causing the boys and their father to have an argument. Although he knew it wasn't totally his fault, he still felt badly about what had happened. As he was thinking about that, Bryce became aware that his caseworker was telling him something about his new foster home. From what he'd heard, he realized he wasn't going back to his old county and that he wasn't staying in this county either. He was being placed in another county, in a home for boys considered to be sexual predators. She said she didn't understand the reasoning behind this, especially after seeing how his foster mother and brothers had seemed to be fond of him, but those were her instructions and she had to follow them. Bryce was shocked when he heard where he was going, because he didn't think he was a sexual predator, but it convinced him that his former foster father must have also talked to DSS. He was positive his foster mother would never have told them about any of that. All he could do now was hope that this was a fairly decent place and not like a prison. It seemed as if it took forever to get there and it was way out in the country, far away from everything else, so it became very clear that they didn't want these kids that they considered to be sexual predators to be too close to anyone else. From the looks of it, there wasn't a home within a couple of miles of this place and the house was set a long way back from the road. As they drove up the lengthy, dirt driveway leading up to the house, Bryce strained to see whatever he could. It looked as if they grew crops here, maybe for their own use, and there was a barn, but Bryce wasn't sure if there were any animals in it. As they got closer to the place, he could make out the house, but it didn't seem all that nice on the outside. The paint was peeling, the porch was in need of repair and there was junk lying all around. It wasn't what he hoped for, but he'd make do, as long as his foster parents and the other foster children were willing to accept him. After the car came to a stop and the caseworker turned off the engine, they got out and he followed his caseworker to the front door. A rather large, and somewhat unkempt, bear of a man greeted them. Bryce's caseworker introduced both herself and Bryce to the gentleman, so it was obvious that she didn't know him either, and then they went out to retrieve Bryce's belongings from the vehicle, so they could take them inside. Once Bryce and the man got all of his belongings out of her car, the caseworker said goodbye to Bryce and his new foster father and then she got back in her vehicle and drove off. The man never said a word to Bryce and just started walking toward the house. Bryce figured he was supposed to follow him, so that's what he did. Once they were inside, Bryce tried to talk to him and asked how many other kids lived here, but the man only told him they were at school and he'd see them after they got back. The man didn't show him around or anything, so Bryce asked what he was supposed to do next. The man pointed in a direction and told Bryce that he could go into the living room. Bryce headed in the direction the man had pointed and went into the room and sat on a chair, but he didn't move or do anything, because he was kind of scared about how this guy might respond. He did look around a bit from where he was sitting and determined that the inside of the house looked much nicer than the outside. The furniture was decent, they had a big-screen TV and the area was fairly clean and neat. One thing he did notice, however, was that there were no pictures anywhere that he could see, no photos of the family or of any the kids that lived here, so he felt there wasn't a lot of love or caring to be found here. If there were, then there would have been pictures everywhere, to show how much he loved his family and all of their foster children. Around noon, his new foster father called Bryce out to the kitchen and slid some lunchmeat, mustard and a loaf of bread in his direction and told him to make himself a sandwich for lunch. Then, he told Bryce that he could get something to drink out of the fridge. As Bryce opened the door and looked inside, he could see that there was milk, juice and a pitcher of Kool-Aid, so he grabbed the latter and asked where the glasses were. The guy pointed to a cupboard, to indicate which one contained the glassware, so Bryce opened the cabinet, grabbed a glass and filled it up. Then, he went over to the table in the dining room and sat down to eat. Bryce finished his lunch and went back into the living room, where he planned to wait until the others got home from school. After a while, the guy came in, gave him the remote for the TV and told him he could watch whatever he wanted. This helped pass the time more quickly, until Bryce heard the bus' brakes screech, as it brought the big yellow vehicle to a halt out in front. Before long, several young men were bolting into the house, causing a great deal of commotion. "Is he here yet?" one of them screamed out, before he noticed Bryce sitting in front of the television. A group of boys then walked into the living room, looked him over and sized him up. Most of these boys were older than Bryce, the youngest one being maybe thirteen, and Bryce realized he was the youngest and smallest of the group. Well, it was only logical he concluded, if he had thought about it in depth, that any kids considered to be sexual predators would most likely be older than him, because how many younger children have even been introduced to sex yet? Bryce felt a little uncomfortable with all of these boys looking him over and he could see some of them snicker or heard them whisper to one of the others as they did this. Bryce wasn't sure what was going on, but he didn't think it was good. One of the boys asked his name, so he told him, and then a couple of them told him their names in response. This gave Bryce enough courage to ask a question, so he spoke to one of the boys who had told him his name. "I've met our foster father, but where is our foster mother? I haven't met her yet," he stated. "We ain't got no foster mother," the kid said, while chuckling. "There's only Big John and us." "Who's Big John?" Bryce asked, naively. "That big guy over there, the one you just called our foster father," he replied. "You mean he isn't married?" Bryce countered, amazed. "Hell, no! He don't even like women," the kid shot back. Now, all of the boys were laughing. "Then how did he become a foster parent?" Bryce asked, innocently enough. This question caused most of the boys to roar with laughter again. "Big John has lots of friends, some who are kind of important around here, and they're the ones that helped to make sure Big John was in charge of this place. They did it because they don't like women that much either or they just like a change of pace every now and then." "What's that supposed to mean?" Bryce snapped back. "Oh, you'll find out soon enough," the boy stated, with an evil chuckle, "but you don't have to worry about that yet." "I wasn't worried. I just wanted to know," Bryce told him. "Well, you'll find out when the time is right and Big John thinks you should know," was the boy's answer. Big John came into the room about that time and told two of the younger boys to take Bryce and show him around the place. Bryce followed them outside, but turned to look back before they had gone very far. When he did, he saw Big John standing on the front porch, talking excitedly to some of the other boys, but he didn't think much of it at the time. He just followed his two 'guides,' and tried to learn more about his new home and surroundings. * * * * * * If you enjoy reading these stories on Nifty, then please consider helping out.
