Alex carried the boy to his apartment and when he got to the door his neighbor Linda was just coming out of her apartment with her 10 year old son Robbie in tow.

"Merry Christmas to you too," Alex said sitting Aidan down so he could fish is keys out of his pocket, "Are you two going to see family for Christmas?"

"No, my parents live in Florida and we just can't afford to go down there this year. I guess we'll just stay home and have a quiet dinner, just us two," she said sadly.

"Hey, I have a great idea. Why don't the two of you join us for Christmas dinner. Emma has been cooking for a week and there will be enough food for an army. She would love it and it will be fun for us too."

"Oh, I don't know," she said looking at Robbie for his reaction, "I hate to intrude."

"Heck yeah, Robbie and I could play some video games and maybe ride bikes. It will be a blast,": Aidan said enthusiastically.

It was obvious Lisa wanted to join them, but she was not a spontaneous person and it took some convincing but finally she agreed when she saw how excited Robbie was at the prospect of spending the Holiday with another boy near his age.

"Yes, we'll be there. I'll call Emma and see if there is anything I can do to help or anything I need to bring," she said smiling. She was a pretty woman and though it wasn't always easy she was doing a great job of taking care of Robbie since her husband had left her.

Alex tackled him and began tickling the boy until he was laughing hard and thrashing around on the floor. When he had had enough Alex jumped up and ran out of the room to call Emma. When he returned Aidan was stretched out on the couch naked.

Alex blushed, it was as if she had been reading his mind. He was sure by now that she knew he and Aidan had sex, but she was too polite to just come out and admit it. He sometimes wondered what had happened in her life to make her so accepting of such things, but he never even considered asking. He was still embarrassed by the fact that he and Aidan were such horn dogs and the fact that she knew it or suspected it was almost too much to think about.

After the table was cleared and the dishes washed they retired to Emma's living room and chatted about their Christmas plans. Emma was delighted that they would be having company for dinner and had already beefed up the menu to make sure everyone had enough to eat, plus left overs for Linda and Robbie to take home. She was happiest when pleasing others and Alex envied that trait in her.

She was nothing like he had expected having heard the way Aidan talked about her when they first met, but he soon realized that Aidan had been looking at her through different eyes then. He was unhappy and hurt by the death of his mother and the lack of a father he never knew and though Emma had been trying her best he just couldn't see it then.

"This has been the best Christmas season I can ever remember," Emma said suddenly looking at her boys with tears in her eyes, "If I died tonight I could truly say I was the happiest old woman on earth."

"Shush, you're no old and you're not going to die any time soon. We have too much living to do for you to leave us behind," Alex said taking her hand and rubbing it gently.

She had come to love Alex as much as she had loved her own son and she accepted the relationship he and Aidan had as if it were the most natural thing on earth. She knew they had been having sex almost as long as they had been together, but she also knew that Alex loved her grandson more than anything on earth and she trusted that he would never hurt him in any way. And as for Aidan, he loved Alex so much she was almost envious of that love. He had become a completely different boy because of the love that they shared and she vowed to do everything in her power to keep them together for as long as they both wanted it.

"We should get Linda and Robbie another gift of two don't you think," Alex said leaning back and easing his belt to let his tummy breath after the huge meal he had eaten.

"Yes, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe you and Aidan could pick out some things for Robbie and I'll find some for Linda."

"Excellent, we'll go tomorrow after I get off work. I feel sorry for Linda, her husband must've been a real ass to leave her and Robbie to fend for themselves."

"A lot of men are like that, thank Heavens my boys are different," she said then blushed at the implications of her words.

"I think there are as many good husbands as bad ones," Alex said thoughtfully, "you just don't hear as much about them. People seem to dwell on the negative and ignore the positive, especially the media."

"I don't get it though," Aidan said joining in the conversation, "how can a dad leave his son like that. Doesn't he love him any more?"

"I'm sure he does, but sometimes parents put their own needs and desires ahead of their children. I personally don't understand it either, but I parents loving your children is a natural instinct."

"Cept mine," Aidan said sadly, "didn't even love me enough to come see me once."

Alex pulled Aidan into him and hugged him gently, "Well, the loss is his...all his. He missed out on knowing a great kid, but on the bright side, I got to know him instead."

"Yeah, I'm glad about that. And if I had a dad he might not let us be together, not like Granny does," he said thoughtfully, "so, I guess it worked out okay anyway."

Alex smiled and kissed the boy on top of the head. He smelled of shampoo and boy and Alex loved that scent.

"Well, I think I'll go take a nice hot bubble bath and get ready for bed. You boys probably have things to do anyway. I'll see the both of you tomorrow for supper, alright?" Emma said smiling at her boys.

"Sure Emma," Alex said standing as she did. He gave her a hug and wished her a goodnight and when he was done Aidan swarmed into her arms for a kiss and hug and then the two of them went home.

They watched a little TV as they wrapped the packages Alex had mentioned then brushed their teeth and hopped into bed. It had been a great day and suddenly Alex realized he had never asked Aidan about his visit with Josh.

Pulling the covers up over them both as they snuggled up together Alex finally asked the big question, "So...wanna tell me about you and Josh?"

Alex listened with prurient interest as Aidan outlined his visit to Josh's leaving nothing out. When he had finished Alex said, "Wow, that is so hot. I wish I could have seen you two going at it like rabbits."

"Oh I doubt that. It's one thing to have granny suspect or know that we're lovers but no need to risk things by admitting it to anyone else."

"He already knows. I never told him, but he figured it out that first time when he was over at my birthday party. He drops hints all the time, but I don't admit anything."

Alex nodded, "I guess to guys who feel the same feelings we're a little more obvious. But no need to admit anything. We'll just keep them guessing, at least until you're older."

"Wanna fool around or are you too tired?" Alex asked knowing full well what the answer would be beforehand.
