Date: Fri, 25 Nov 2005 21:18:13 EST From: BugarTheWizard@aol.com Subject: Blizzard part 1 So this is my disclaimer. if you under under age.. blah blah.. for your state.. or country blah blah then what the crap are you doing here? go away!!! feed back welcome at bugarthewizard@yahoo.com flames will be ignored. but then if you are flaming me.. why are you here in the first place? Blizzard Part 1 Snow blew through the air, covering everything in a layer of mystical whiteness. but the same mystical whiteness was hampering my ability to see. I squinted through the flakes, trying to see the road. I wondered why I'd agreed to help with this damn snow camp. "Do you think it's snowing at home?" Steven asked me from shotgun. That was why. Steven. my friend, my love, my crush.. He was my everything and he had no clue. If he did, he'd have me wrapped around his little finger. He was so special to me, my little 14 yr old angel. He wasn't the best looking boy, not in the normal sense. a normal adult would call him plain. but I loved him. I loved his brown hair, his hazel eyes, and I loved his plain brown freckles on his face, and I loved the way his chest was so perfectly thin, but not skinny. I guess you can tell I'm a boylover from my dialog here. hee hee. anyway. back to the story. Steven had asked me if I could sub for the assistant scout master for their winter camp, and I'd said yes immediately, dreams of sharing a tent with him runnning through my head. But alas. according to scout bi-laws, due to sick perverts... hee hee... who had done stuff to boys, the adults had to share a tent while the boys had to bunk together. Which put a big fucking hole in my plan. But the happy look on Steven's face was worth it. So now I was driving in a blizzard in the middle of the canadian rockies. I wanted to go some where closer, but apparently it's not a camping trip if the trip doesn't take at least 2 hours to get there. in this case it had been a four hour drive, but now it was going to take more due to the weather. "I don't know." I answered. "The clouds were coming in from the west this morning you remember?" I asked. "and we don't know how far south they reach. but that's right. you weren't awake yet." I joked. Steven was a heavy sleeper. I laughed along with the rest of the boys in the car. "Brandon, do you think we'll make it home ok?" another boy Taylor asked. He was the younger one of my group, and while he was a bit of a downer, he was always good at spotting the worst possible scenario. of course with his wild imagination he was also coming up with less than likely scenarios of death and destruction as well. (personally I thought they were quite creative, and really funny as hell, but the other leader hadn't really liked them.) But he was cute, with blonde hair and a nice body, but it was marred by this constant down face. I don't think I'd ever seen him smile once. "Yes. but not any time soon if you want to make it home in one piece." I said, slowing down as I turned the steering wheel hard to fight a wind gust. I swore mentally as I fought, ignoring the groans from the boys. "Look. I don't want to get home, and then get yelled at because I turned you all into a pile of goo, ok?" I said, trying to keep the situation light. But I was worried too. the snow was still falling, and it had been a while since we left camp, and it didn't look like it was going to stop. I would have turned on the radio, but I didn't know the stations very well up here in the mountains, and the reception was getting worse anyway. "Hey didn't we pass a hotel and gas station around here?" Taylor asked. I looked at him through the rearview mirror. he looked like he was squinting. He was right about it, but I'd barely noticed it on the way up, and wasn't sure where it was located. maybe if it wasn't snowing I'd know. "We did." I agreed. "But I don't know where it is. too much snow." Everybody nodded, except for Dane who wasn't paying attention as usual. Dane was a cute kid, rather built for late 14, blonde, and kind of stocky. no doubt he'd be some sort of athletic type when he hit high school if he ever stopped playing poker and all those collectible card games. But right now he was currently involved in listening to his earphones. "Hey! I see a sign up ahead." He said rather loudly. Everybody laughed, and even he heard that. "What?" he asked defensively. "I just said I saw a sign." I squinted, and it was true, I could now also see a sign up ahead. It was the hotel. Great. "Kay guys. we're getting out and taking stock." I said. this was answered with sounds of whooping while I pulled out my cellphone and handed it to steven. "Call Scott." I said. Scott was the scout master I mentioned earlier. I pulled into the hotel parking lot and we all broke from the van we'd borrowed and blitzed inside. the scouts and I dubbed it the winter assault vehicle. while Scotts was the Blizzard assault vehicle. Which was even cornier because the one I was driving was a sort of maroon color, and scotts was a tan, or some sort of a champagne. (whats champagne you ask? its tan.. but my mom insists its different. go figure.) "Any good?" I asked Steven as we stomped inside, rubbing our hands from the cold. Steven held up a finger, to which I nodded and waited, while the other boys were looking at the rack of pointless brochures for the area. Most of what they were advertising wasn't even in existence yet, as most of them said coming soon, or summer 06. I finally realized that someonewas trying to turn this desolate area into some sort of recreation area. there were advertisements for a future ski lodge, future fishing tours, canoes, winter snowmobile and woulnd't you know it, a scout camp. Finally Steven handed me the phone. "Scott?" I asked, waving at Erik to settle down and stop bouncing on the couch they had in the waiting room. "No!! Scott is still driving." a voice greeted me. "Its me... Tanner the invincible!!" I laughed as I needed that. It was Tanner Gryffin. spelled with a "y" and an "i" as he always said. I guess Scott was concentrating as hard as I was on not killing his load. "Tell Scott we stopped at the.." I looked for the hotel name... "Fairfield inn, we passed on the way up." I said. "Sweet!! are we going to stay?" he asked trhough the fuzz. Great, even cell phone signals were starting to fail. "I don't know. just make sure to stop when you get here. We'll work it out." I said. "Over and out.' I finished. "Under and in!!" Tanner said, and clicked off the phone. I smiled. I needed that. Tanner was a chubby 13 yr old, but damn was he funny. his entire life was centered on finding jokes and humor. I began to pace as I called my home. Yes, I was a 23 yr old college student still living at home, so sue me. then I got that obnoxious tone you get when teh cell phone signal is bad. "Great." I said, causing the hotel rep on duty to look up. He was a little older than me maybe, normal looking, brown hair, nice face, but nothing special. Hey... just cuz I'm a boylover doesn't me I can't appreciate older guys, or try to in this case. "sorry. cell phone service is down due to signal interference." I said. "Oh. thats good to know. and before you ask, the phones here aren't working either. I thikn the storm must have taken out a phone line between here and wherever." he said. Another thing gone wrong. our parents were going to be so fucking worried. Yes. my parents do worry about me. "so I assume you want some rooms?" he asked. I sighed. "I need two rooms connected, adn some rollaways." I said. there was no way I was driving in this weather. And if I knew Scott, he wouldn't want to either. He was a responsible guy, and I could tell he always felt personally responsible for each of his scout troop members. "Well, you have your pick of the place." He said with that familiar canadian accent. "Be glad its off season right now, you'll save some money. And becuase your like the only group here, I'll charge you regular room rate for the master suites." he said. Like this place had an off or on season yet. I thought, but put a huge ass smile on my face. our host was trying to be helpful. Then a voice spoke up behind me. "Hey, thanks mister!" It was Steven, and right there I realized our host was more interesting than before. but if he thought he was going to ogle my Steven he had another thing coming. "Scout rates." He said. "I remember being a scout myself." He smiled. Boy I was glad brought my charge card. I pulled it out, and was just signing the paper work, and deposit( fuck I didn't grudge him that, we had 9 teenage boy scouts, well ok 8, and 1 twelve yr old), when Dane exclaimed.... "Hey... the other van is here... how'd they know?" He asked. While it would normally be stupid, it was not a bad question in this case as he could barely see the road from the window. "Cell phone, what else?" I asked laughing gently as Dane blushed. "Oh. so.. whats to eat?" He asked next. I rolled my eyes. Teenagers. always hungry. But I wasn't that far from being a teen myself so I knew what it was like. That's why the guys liked me. I shrugged my shoulders as Scott's van pulled up and I finished signing the papers. "I'm not sure." I said. all the left over food was packed in the vans, and its not like we could just build a fire and heat it up. "Why don't you guys just go across the street to the cafe?" the hotel attendant asked. Cafe? I didn't see a cafe on the way before.. but then I was driving. hmm, I usually notice that kind of thing. "Maybe. whats it serve?" I asked, handing the papers back to the hotel rep, whose name was Brian now that I was actually looking at his name tag. "Just standard good food." he said. I'm glad I had steven tell the guys to bring money for munchies and stuff for on the way up and the way back. It's part of what I remember about scouts. Buying food on the way to camp and on the way out. The door rang, and I turned to see Scott the scout master walk in. he was a decent guy, starting to get a little grey in the hair, but still going strong. He kinda had a less chiseled robert redford look, and he was dark haired, not blonde. skinnier too. Scott was really cool, got along well with the kids, and had welcomed me with open arms. The rest of the boys followed him, all rubbing there hands except for tanner. Tanner walked up to me while the others crowded around the floor heater they'd spotted. Scott followed Tanner over to me. I could tell he was cold, but he was doing a good job of hiding it. "So why aren't you freezing?" I asked Tanner, who smiled and laughed at me. Damn his smile was infectious. "cuz I got winter fat!!" he said, grabbing his stomach and shaking it. It was true. He did have some chub. not that much though, and if he grew into it, he would be really hot. I guess time would tell. "You got that right." a smooth voice said. it was Skyler, the girl killer of the bunch. He was so smooth... he even intimidated me. He was bound to have lots of girls wrapped around his fingers, and he was only 15. I think it was his eyes. They were not just blue, but a deep icy blue, that a person could fall into. "So Scott, we can't dial out, the blizzard took out the phone lines." I said as he eyeballed the pay phone on the wall. "And I guess you already tried dialing home from your cell?" I asked. Scott shook his head vaguely as he looked at the hotel map I had been given. "See there's someting wrong with my service provider. one of the stations are down or someting." I explained. "Ah. but we have different providers." He said, his eyes lighting up. That was a good point.. if Scott could get through, then our families wouldn't have to be too worried about us. I watched Scott dial his phone, then begin pacing. A soft voice spoke then. "Um. Derek? what are we doing here?" it was Andy Conlin. if anybody in the group was gay, it was him. I felt for the boy. he was slender, like most of the boys in the group, and his hair was so perfect as it fell down in his eyes. The way he flicked his hair out of the way was so precious. And he was really talented. He could sing and act like noone's business. I could tell he didn't want to come, and had worked out of him that I understood, ( I didnt like scouts much when I first got started) and I would try and make it fun. I'd even let him pick some music on the way up, ( somehow he'd ended up in the other van on the way back, later I'd find out the boys had NOT enjoyed his musicals at all, and had worked out some sort of a trade. they never did tell me what they'd traded either.) and I had liked it, must be my gay side coming out, but none of the other boys had appreciated it. "Look. We are not going to make it home in this weather." I said. "I was fighting those wind gusts hard on the way up." Andy looked at me, and I could see he was trying not to tear up. I put my arm around his neck, and pulled him tight. "Look. I know you want to get home, but we are here, and I got us some really cool rooms." I said, pulling him away into the corner. I noticed Brian the desk person out of the corner of my eye slide away, to allow us a bit of privacy. He was on top of things. I should probably give him a tip or something. "I know.. I just wanted ... my bed.. and ..." Andy said, trying not to choke up. "Are you ok Andy?" I heard two voices say in synch. and not the band either. it was our twins.. take one young perfect specimen of boy, times it by two and you got our twins. not a blemish on them. they were so hot. they looked as if they were some young greek statue brought to life. "Cuz we're..." one said, wrapping an arm around Andy's waist. "Here if you need to.." the other said, taking my place around Andy's neck. "Talk or something." they said, finishing each others sentences. The strange thing about them was that Kyel liked to dye his hair a really bright blonde. He looked good in it too. well they looked good in almost anything. and his brother Erik liked to dye his hair a really dark black. other than that they usually wore the same clothes, cut there hair the same. I asked them about it one time, and they explained they liked the reaction. and this time was no different as Brian our new land lord caught sight of them. he looked, then double looked, then slowly it dawned on him. "Well guys. I made it through and left some messages." Scott said, as he clicked off his phone, and stopped pacing. "Great. you left them messages to let the other parents know right?" I asked, and Scott nodded. "Good. So. lets get our gear out, and we can see where we're staying." I said. "We're staying?" Josh said. he was the red head that every group needed to round out the fun. he was way skinny, but his red freckles, red hair, and green eyes, really looked good on him. He was pretty quite though. at least around me.. I'd seen him laughing adn stuff with the other guys. maybe I made him nervous, I don't know. "Yes we are." I replied.
