Ron Phillips and Bobby shared in that loss, and tried to give their family members all the love and space they needed to grieve. With Christmas approaching, though, it wasn't easily done. The Spanish grandparents had a idea. They knew that Rocco was an Aaron Carter fan, and that he was planning a Christmas concert in Barcelona, so with their connections, they arranged a vacation to Spain, with a special gift of the concert for Rocco. They had even sought permission for him to meet the young pop star. They discussed with Ron, who, despite some misgivings, thought it was a wonderful idea. On Dec. 17th, they left the U.S. for the first time in their lives, and they were nervous. Even Ron was nervous, and he had been shot at in the line of duty! The flight was smooth, the food horrible, but they enjoyed themselves on the 767 flying across the Atlantic. Landing in London was a surprise, but since they had to switch flights, no one complained. In fact, the shop vendors were amused at the American boys collecting British money in trade for American. Soon, they were in the air again, on the final leg of their long trip and everyone was rapidly growing tired. Finally, their plane landed in Barcelona, where they found a huge limo waiting to take them to their Grandparent's palacial estate. Taking no time to look around, however, the 5 sleepy boys each found a bed and went to sleep. Ron tucked Doma and Santi into beds of their own, and had a cup of coffee. After a long sleep of 10 hours, the boys were very hungry and they raided Senora Juvencio's kitchen with with a vengence. When Ron tried to stop them, she laughed, saying that feeding a herd of boys made her feel useful and young again. They got the grand tour of the estate, and then their Grandfather told them that they related to King Juan the First of Spain, and were invited to see him during their vacation, if they wanted. They were also told of the Aaron Carter concert, but when Rocs was told that he would get to meet the star personally, he began to cry as he thanked his Grandparents over and over again. As the day worn on and our young friends slowly adjusted to the time change, they found themselves worn out soon after tucking in Santi and Doma. As soon as they kissed their Grandparents, Ron, and themselves good night, they went to bed, thinking of another day's adventures as they faded off to sleep.
