Changes By Danny Oliver Chapter Two: The boy had an incredible tan all over his arms and face. He was wearing jeans pants and a white shirt making the contrast between it and his arms incredibly. He had dark brown mushroom hair and his eyes they were so blue and wet. He's been definitely crying not long ago. I just couldn't believe it. I was gazing directly at him enchanted by the beauty of that boy. When I returned to my senses, I could see Mason grinning and I realized that my mouth was still open. I closed it hopefully right in time to avoid a pathetic drooling episode. I took a deep breath forcing myself to regain composure. What a shame, such a powerful man getting impressed with such a small thing as a boy. "This is Spencer," Mason said still grinning. I nodded and reached out for the boy's hand. It was quite smaller than mine, silky soft. His fingernails were well cut. "I'm Tony." He held mine and we shook. He was frightened, definitely afraid of something. 'Well, of course he should be scared, he's here to be sold to a total stranger' I thought to myself. "Nice to meet you, Spencer," I said looking at the boy and smiling. He just nodded weakly. "So, are you interested Mr. Figueroa?" "Maybe. First I need to know a few things," I answered. "Like what?" "Like who is this boy, is he your son?" "It doesn't matter. The important is that he is in good condition, and I could see that you found him at least good looking. I've already instructed him to do everything you say, so you'll have no problems with him at all." The boy now had tears flowing down his cheeks. I couldn't take it. How could someone just sell a boy like that? Mason felt my hesitation. "Er. If you don't want him, Mr. Figueroa, I can always find another buyer." Now he was trying to put pressure on me, what a fucking moron. But I thought about that for a while. The 'buyers' would definitely want sex and would certainly hurt him real bad or perhaps even kill him after their lust is satiated. "Is he a... I mean... Did he ever have...?" I asked Mason understood what I meant and shook his head. "Ok, I'll buy him," I finally answered. "It will be fifty grand," Mason said. "I'll give you twenty." "Uh... Mr. Figueroa, I'm afraid it's not enough." "Do you think you gonna find someone who will pay you more?" I asked. "I... Well... See, I need..." "I told you Mr. Beal, twenty grand cash. That's all you'll get from me," I interrupted him. There was a pause. Mason took a deep breath, closed his eyes and finally opened them again. "Ok, twenty grand." "Good." I called Vince in the office again. I had way more than the twenty thousands in my desk's drawers. I had a black suitcase just below it, near to my legs. I took it, filled it with twenty grand and handed it to Mason. During the process I stole some glances of the boy and it seemed that, now that he knew that I had accepted the offer and would "purchase" him, it made him get even more scared. He was sobbing and Mason elbowed him lightly whispering something in his ear. I guessed he was threatening the boy in some way so he would keep his mouth shut and his tears into his head. Mason gladly took the suitcase from me. He couldn't stop grinning all the while. He'd probably never seen so much money in his entire life. I could tell he was very proud of his accomplishment. "You're a good man, Mr. Figueroa," he said excited. 'Fuck you,' I thought. "Don't you want to count it? It's a pretty large amount of cash," I asked. "No, it's ok. I know I can trust you." 'We'll see, you motherfucker,' my thoughts again. "I think we are done then. You know the exit," I concluded plainly. "You bet!" he answered cheerfully. "Nice to have business with you Mr. Figueroa." Another 'fuck you' got to the tip of my tongue but I held it back and didn't say anything. He turned and left the office. I called Vince and told him to find out who was this guy Mason Beal. I wanted a detailed profile of him. Vince would then call some people experts on this matter. All the while, the boy had been still frozen in the same place. He heard when I told Vince to check Mason. Vince has been just standing outside during the whole thing, patiently waiting for an outcome. "What are you going to do with this little brat?" He asked almost whispering in my ear so the boy wouldn't listen. I just shrugged and told him to leave me alone with the boy. I still didn't know what to do, what to say to the boy. I've forgotten at all how did that feel. To not know what to do, to feel somewhat frightened in misusing the words I'd say. The boy was not crying anymore. He was just still holding his hands folded in front of him and looking at the floor, waiting for me to say or do something. He was beautiful. I decided to say something remembering that I'm a very polite person. "Spencer," I started, "Are you thirsty? Want to drink something?" He shook his head very weakly looking down. I slowly started to leave my chair when I stepped on something. I looked down just to see it was my cigar. When Mason showed me the boy it fell off my mouth and I didn't even notice it. It was certainly the most ridiculous episode on my family ever. I smiled a little. 'Good one, Tony' I thought. I picked the now half destroyed piece of Cuban cigar up and threw it on the trashcan. Back on my feet, I ambled towards him. He was about 5'1, I guessed. He followed me with his eyes never looking at my face. When I got to him I gently put my right hand in his shoulder as he slowly looked up at my face. He had tears in his eyes again and was trembling a bit. "I'm not going to hurt you," I said softly. "I swear," I added and continued. "You'll be safe with me, I'll never let anyone hurt you again. However if you don't want to stay with me and go away I won't stop you." I kept looking at him right in his eyes. They were wide open now. He was surprised with my statement - and so was I, after all I had just spent 20.000 dollars on him. Why did I do that? I'll have no profit at all with it. I couldn't possibly understand my own jaded mind. "Are you afraid that I would hurt you, aren't you?" I asked softly moving my hand to the back of his head and kindly fondling his hair. It was amazingly soft, the smoothest thing I've ever felt on my hand. He nodded. I bent a little so my face would face his. "I promise, I will NEVER hurt you. Not EVER!" I said emphasizing the 'never' and 'ever'. "Ok" he said almost inaudibly. "Now, how about a soda Spence?" "Ok, I can have one," He said forcing a smile. This time his voice was audible and how beautiful it was. I guided him behind my desk where there was a small fridge. I opened it and told him to choose what he wanted. He choose - as I expected - a can of coke. Why kids like coke so much? I thought. But at the same instant my hand went into the fridge and got a can for me too. I'm not coke lover but also not dislike it. I motioned to my chair for him to sit on it. His eyes went wide again. "Are you sure? Can I sit here?" he asked to make sure he understood me. "Of course you can. See if you like it." My chair was wonderful. The most comfortable I've ever rested my ass on. He sat down. "Wow! Your chair is great Mr. Figueroa," he said smiling. For the first time he mentioned my name. "Tony," I corrected him, "Call me Tony." "Ok, Tony," he answered still smiling. I went right behind the chair put my hands on his shoulders caressing them. "Feel comfortable, little one?" "Uh-huh," he answered his eyes half closed. "Did you have any sleep this night?" I asked remembering that I was sleepy myself. "No sir. I mean Tony. My father kept me awake all night talking." "Your father? Is that man Mason your father?" I asked in disbelief raising my voice reflexively. "Yes," he answered weakly, obviously frightened now. "I didn't... I'm sorry..." he stuttered between sobs. "No, no, it's ok, Spence." I tried to reassure him reaching for him and holding him in my arms. 'It's not your fault,' 'I'm not mad at you' I kept saying things like that in his ear as I hugged him to my chest. I was amazed on how good it felt having that beautiful boy in my arms. I wanted to cry too. Last time I felt like that was when my father died. How can someone do something like what Mason did to this boy, his own son? After some time holding him in my arms, he calmed down a bit and stopped crying. I gently pulled him away a little and wiped the tears from his cheeks with the back of my index finger. "It's ok," I said once again smiling to him. He looked up at me and smiled a little too. "I wasn't supposed to cry like that, Tony, I'm sorry," he apologized. "There's nothing to be sorry about, honey," I said quietly. "My father said that you wouldn't like if I cry, but I just couldn't held it back." "Look, Spencer, you don't have to believe in anything that man said about me. It's ok if you cry. We all cry sometimes. I'm sorry for saying that in front of you, but your father is a worthless fucking piece of shit. He probably told you that I would hurt you didn't he?" He nodded feebly. "Do you think I'm going to do it to you?" "No," he shook his head after pausing for a brief moment. "Ok, so feel better now, sport?" I asked placing my hands in his shoulders. "Yeah. I'm sorry I was such a baby," he said with a smile on his face. "Don't worry, you'll be fine now," I said smiling. This time he held me and hugged me tightly. I hugged him back feeling his hair against my nostrils and mouth. "Thank you," he whispered with his head buried in my chest. In response I kindly kissed the top of his head. It hurt a lot but I had to break the embrace. "Let's go home now." "Am I going with you too?" he asked. "Yes, if you want to." "Yeah, I do." I shut the office's lights off. And we left it Spencer right beside me, wrapped in my right arm. His left arm around my waist as we walked outside. There were no players anymore, just Vince waiting for me, and the four security guys who would take care of the warehouse when no event is happening inside. We went to my car. A luxury Sedan, Vince would drive. I barely realized that I entered in the back seat along Spencer.
