Date: Fri, 12 Jan 2001 19:30:50 -0500 From: Charlie Subject: David's Christmas - 10 The following story is total fiction. Any relationship to persons living or dead is purely accidental. This story depicts sexual acts between people of the same sex (male), some of whom are under age. If you find this concept distasteful, or if it is illegal where you live, or if you are underage, please stop reading now. In the following chapter or two, I will be describing in a fair amount of detail some laws and customs of the Cherokee nation, and also of the American white man. Please understand that what I write is not from any extensive knowledge of Cherokee or any other law. I have taken a lot of liberties, or stated another way, I have "made up" laws and situations to fit the story line. If there are any Cherokee's, or students of American Indians, reading this, you will recognize my errors instantly. I apologize, I don't mean to offend. This is, after all, fiction. X. Cherokee It was a five hour drive to Cherokee. During those five hours David had to endure the most severe cross-examination in his life. Adam wanted to hear over and over again about his grandfather, his brother, their lives in the mountains. David kept repeating that all he knew was what he'd been told in three thirty minute phone conversations, but that simply wasn't enough for Adam. As the terrain started to get more hilly and David swung the pickup off the Interstate, Adam became more and more hyper. "I'm planning to stay one night," David told Adam. "Tomorrow I'm going on to Nashville to see how the choir's recording session is coming. I'm hoping that by the time I leave you'll know whether you want to stay or go with me. Your grandfather really wants you to stay for the week, but I told him that would be up to you. If you do stay, I'll be picking you up next Friday." "That's not fair, Dad," Adam whined. "I mean, I know they're family and all that, but they're strangers. I'll feel so weird stayin' there a whole week by myself!" "That's why I'm staying with you the first night. You're pretty outgoing, Adam. I think you'll get to know enough people in that time, that you'll know what you want. Just relax, they're certainly not gonna hurt you. And if you want to go to Nashville with me, that's perfectly OK." David had written down the directions Gerald Lee had given him. Now Adam was navigating as David drove. The directions were extremely accurate and easy to follow. Before they knew it they were approaching Cherokee. Adam was becoming more nervous by the second. "Want to stop for a snack before we go to the house?" David offered. "Might help settle your nerves." "No thanks," Adam answered. "I've been waiting for this my whole life, and I'm not gonna wait any longer." Adam continued to read the directions and watch for the landmarks Gerald had given David. His hand was shaking, but he was determined to see it through. Finally they pulled into the driveway of a rather large old farmhouse. Before David had shut off the engine, an old man emerged from the front door. He was smiling broadly. "Welcome! He said loudly as he threw his arms around David. "I'm Gerald Lee. You are David I presume?" "Yes, sir," David replied. "And this is Adam." "Pleased to meet you, sir," Adam said nervously as he extended his hand. The old man turned and regarded the young teen standing facing him, his hand still extended. There was a flood of tears as he exclaimed, "Adam! It is you! I am your grandfather!" "I... I'm sorry, sir," Adam protested as the old man hugged the life out of him, "I believe you told my father you'd have to check my birthmark to be sure?" "There's no need," the old man said. "I'm sure. Let me show you something. Please, come in." They followed the man into the house. Once inside he called up the stairs. "John, they're here! Please, come down." "Please excuse John," Gerald said. "He was just so anxious for this to be the real thing, he said he couldn't bear to look until I was sure. I agreed he could stay in his room until I was sure. Once you see him you'll know how I am so positive." They did know. They heard footsteps on the stairs and turned. David and Adam both gasped. To David, it could very easily have been Adam coming down those stairs. The two boys could easily have been identical twins, right down to the size of their clothes! As Adam and John saw each other, the rest of the universe faded into oblivion. They stood face to face, nose to nose, neither daring to move lest this illusion, and it had to be an illusion, evaporated before their eyes. John's hand suddenly came up to Adam's face. He gently wiped the tear from his brother's cheek with the back of his index finger. The touch was electric. It triggered two boys to throw their arms around each other and cry as if their hearts were breaking. "My brother!" John said. "Do you see, Grandfather? It's my brother! He's really here!" It took the two older men fifteen minutes to get the boys settled down. Gerald told David that he had made a big mistake years ago, telling little John when he was only seven, that somewhere in the world he had a brother. From the time he'd first been told, he had longed and pined for him. "After the greeting we just witnessed," David observed, "I don't think it was a mistake telling him at all. I only wish Adam had known sooner. But they look so much alike! It's uncanny! Even their hair..." "From his size, I assume that Adam has the hormone problem?" Gerald asked. "Yes," David confirmed. "When he was a ward of the state, they refused to treat the problem. Now he says he likes the way he is. I have offered to have it treated, but he just says no, that he's missed out on a lot of his childhood so he's in no hurry to grow up." "John has it too," Gerald told him. "He has grown pretty well normally up to now, but the doctor says as soon as he starts puberty, the growth will all but stop. And puberty has already started for him." David wanted to ask the old man how he knew, but decided against it. He also was not totally oblivious to what two young teens might do together, and decided he wouldn't ask, but if he later found out that something did happen, he would accept it as a normal course of events. In the meantime, it was clearly evident that Adam would indeed be staying for the week. After their emotional outburst, the two boys had bounded up the stairs so that John could show Adam "OUR" bedroom; an hour later they came bounding back down. John had announced that he was taking his brother to introduce some of his friends, and they were gone. "John is so excited," Gerald chuckled. "He was so afraid that this would never happen." "It seems Adam is just as excited," David observed. David unloaded Adam's things from the truck. He didn't have to be told Adam's decision; he knew the two boys would want to spend the week together. John's spring break wasn't for another week, so he obviously wasn't going anywhere. No problem, Adam declared, he would just go to John's school, if he were allowed. He had brought his laptop because Mr. Evans, his Social Studies teacher, had assigned him the task of writing a report on his Indian heritage. John said that he had already told his teachers at school that Adam was coming, and the teachers had said he'd be welcome. David wasn't real anxious to leave next morning. He had stayed up long after midnight with Gerald and the two boys as they all tried to catch up on each other's lives. Gerald and John were obviously thrilled out of their minds over Adam, as he was over them. He had immediately begun emulating his brother and called Gerald "Grandfather;" not Gramps, or Paw Paw, or Grand-dad, but in a very respectful tone, consistent with his Indian heritage, "Grandfather!" David was happy for Adam, but he had to admit to himself to being very nervous. Where would this association go? Was he losing Adam? Could he stand to lose Adam? He knew without being told that he owed it to Adam, if he really loved him, to let him go if that's what he chose. But did he love him that much? "We'll take good care of him," Gerald assured him as he said his good-byes. "I know you will," David answered. "You've got my cell number, right Adam? And you've got your cell phone and charger?" "Yes, sir. And I promise I'll call you every night." "Ok. Be well, and have fun." "We will, Dad," Adam said as he hugged David. "Dad," he whispered, "thanks so much! You're the greatest!" "Don't go getting mushy," David said as he released Adam, "or I might change my mind and take you with me. Now you and John get out of here!" To David's total astonishment, John, who had been hanging back observing, suddenly stepped forward and threw his arms around him. "Bye," he whispered, "uhhh.... er.... Dad!" Then before David could recover, John and Adam were gone to catch the school bus. "He likes you," Gerald voiced the obvious. "He's a great kid," David said truthfully. "You've done a super job with him, Gerald." The ride to Nashville was uneventful and lonely. It took almost six hours, despite the fact that David was driving much faster than he should, given some of the mountainous roads he was on. He had been doubly worried about the twins ever since that court appearance where he'd learned of their bedwetting history. If they went away with the choir and had a relapse, they would be devastated! He wanted to be close by to deal with the problem, should it recur. He also reasoned that if he were there, the likelihood of the problem coming back was far less. So he had agreed to be one of the chaperones. Obviously he didn't share his ulterior motive with the twins. As far as they knew, he was there to help out with whatever needs turned up. The choir was competing in a choir festival, after which they would be doing a recording session, thereby killing two birds with one stone. David had missed the competition, as he knew he would. When he arrived at the studio where the recording was to be done, the choir was just finishing up for the day. Two very small black boys brightened visibly when they saw their white father walk into the studio. As soon as they were dismissed, they ran to him and greeted him. "They've been having a whale of a time," Mrs. Nelson said as she came up to David. "They act as if they've never been away from home before." "They probably haven't," David answered. Then in response to his questioning look, she motioned to him that there had been no wet beds. Relieved, he said "Ok, tell me what I can do to help. That's why I'm here." Mrs. Nelson told David that he should just park his truck and travel with the choir on the bus. Since it was Friday, they were done for the weekend. Tomorrow morning early they were all going to Dollywood for the day, and then Saturday night they had tickets to the Grand Ole Opry! "That was a bit or a reward from Mr. Milner," she explained, "for doing so well in the festival." "Oh, yeah, the festival! How'd they do?" "They came in third, which was better than we'd dared hope for, considering how many of the kids have never competed before. We're very pleased." Of course Jody and Eric had to tell him every detail of every incident, in stereo! David had never seen two kids so excited, or so happy! If there had been any doubt in his mind about making their sonship permanent, it was gone now. There was no way, no way in the world, that he could ever betray the trust they were demonstrating! He couldn't resist, choir or no choir, studio full of kids or no, giving each of them a giant bear hug, which they returned enthusiastically. "Dad?" Adam's excited voice came over the cell phone. It was Wednesday evening, and the first time Adam had called. "Hi, Adam. I was beginning to wonder if I was ever gonna hear from you." "Yah, I'm sorry. It never occurred to me before you left, but there aren't very many cell phone towers around here. My cell phone doesn't work at all in Cherokee. Grandfather drove me thirty miles down the road to where he knew it would work. But Dad, I got a question. What time do you plan to get back here on Friday?" "Actually, we're done here," David said. "I'm going to be leaving in the morning with the twins. They said they wanted to go back with me so they could meet John." "The twins are coming? No way! That's totally outa sight!" "Why did you want to know what time I was coming?" For a brief pause, Adam didn't answer. David could hear muffled voices in the background. He heard Gerald's voice, John's, and two others that he didn't recognize. Finally Adam came back on the phone. "It... it's ok, Dad. I'd rather surprise you. So much has happened here, you wouldn't believe it! Just get here as fast as you can, ok?" "Adam, what is it? Is everything ok?" "It's fine, Dad. I gotta go, the battery on this phone is almost dead. I'll see ya tomorrow. Bye, love ya." GREAT! David thought. Something was going on that Adam wanted him back there right away. But what? He thought it would be nice to get up around 4 or 5 and get an early start, but he couldn't. He had promised to eat with the choir tonight, in fact it was his treat! Sort of a completion party. Then in the morning he'd promised to eat breakfast with them and help get everyone on the bus. That meant that the very earliest he could leave Nashville would be 8:30! That meant it would be two or after before he got to Cherokee. He completely forgot that he wouldn't see the boys before that anyway because they would be in school. The only thing on his mind was, what in the world is going on? The party was everything one might expect from thirty kids ranging in age from eight to fifteen. They had performed three times at the festival, had made the finals and come in third among over forty choirs. They'd had a weekend sightseeing in Nashville, then had worked very hard for three days in a recording studio, producing a recording that they hoped to sell to raise more money for more such trips. Now it was blow-out time, and every last one of those kids was hyperactive to the point of explosion. They weren't bad or abusive or destructive; these kids were too well bred for that and they knew such behavior wouldn't be tolerated. But they were loud and boisterous, and they could put away more food than most people three times their size. It was pushing 11 PM before the last of the kids were settled in their beds, and David went back to his own room. One benefit with dealing with the kids, he thought, was that all week he'd been rather lonely sleeping in his hotel room alone. The kids had sure taken care of that problem! For once he was relieved to leave them, and doubly relieved that Jody and Eric wanted to sleep with the choir one more night. When David, Jody and Eric finally stood in the hotel parking lot and watched the tail end of the bus disappear, it was almost 9 AM. "Ok, c'mon twins," he said. "Let's go see your brother." "Brothers," Jody corrected, "with an 'S'." David opened his mouth to explain that John was Adam's brother, but not theirs; but he thought better of it. If they all were comfortable calling each other brother, what possible harm could it do? And he had to admit he'd been fantasizing about having two sets of twins. He knew that would never happen though; it was painfully obvious that John was very happy and content, and that his grandfather worshiped him. But then a chilling thought coursed through his body. Maybe Adam had decided he'd like to stay in Cherokee! It was a pleasant drive through the Great Smoky Mountains. This was pretty country, David thought as he drove, and this was probably one of the nicest times of year here. The winter was for the most part gone, but there hadn't been any of the stifling heat that later would turn the air into a haze that was difficult to see through, sometimes even tough to breathe! The twins chatted away about this and that, David played some of his CD's and they all sang along, but eventually they ran out of conversation, and of things to do. That's when two little boys grew rather solemn. "I was just wonderin'," Eric said after fifteen minutes of silence. "What if Adam decides he wants to stay with John? I mean, he is so interested in what it's like to be an Indian, maybe he likes it better there than living with us." "He wouldn't leave us!" Jody scolded. "Remember, he told us he's our big brother forever!" "But that's before he knew he had a brother... I mean a REAL brother! An' if Mr. Dennings gets his way they're gonna make us leave anyway." "Eric, I told you I wasn't gonna allow that to happen, didn't I?" David reminded him. "Yeah, Dad, you did. But if the judge says we can't stay with you... I mean, I've seen it before. They'll even come to our house with the police if they have to." "You've got to trust me, Eric," David said, trying to show more confidence than he was feeling right now. "I'm gonna take care of you guys, no matter what! If you don't believe anything else in your life, believe that!" The truck went silent again. A small black hand found its way to David's on the steering wheel and grasped it firmly. "Ok, Dad," Eric said, "I trust you." To his relief, David realized that they were almost there. "Holy sweet bald-headed Aunt Jemima!" Jody exclaimed as they pulled into the Lee driveway. "There's two Adam's! An'... an' they're both Indians!" David was convinced he'd taken a wrong turn somewhere and driven back in time to another world. Indeed, walking toward the truck, grinning widely, were two young Indian boys. On their feet were brown moccasins, topped by some sort of anklets with what looked like brown fox fur. Their legs were covered with what appeared to be deerskin pants... no, not pants, chaps, or leggings! They were fastened at the waist to a narrow leather belt, but there was no seat or front in them, just the leggings. They were amply decorated with colorful beads in various designs, and lots of leather frills. Covering their mid section, well sort of, was a sort of loincloth, or as Adam told David later, it was called a breechclout. It was basically a long piece of leather that went between their legs and up the font and back, then under a belt decorated with beads, then hung down front and back halfway to their knees. Their upper bodies wore a leather vest, open and the front, and decorated with more bead designs. Around each of their necks was a very elaborate necklace of beads, tufts of fur, and what appeared to be claws. Eagle claws, Adam later explained; only they were now made of plastic because there simply weren't enough eagles around to be killing them just for their claws. Their long black hair hung loosely on their shoulders, restrained from falling into their faces by a wide band around their heads, decorated in the same pattern as the belt that held their breechclouts in place. Stuck in the backs of their headbands were two brightly colored feathers. David was speechless. "What in the world..." he said as Gerald came out of the house. "About time you got here," he said with a grin. "These boys have been dressed and waiting for two hours! What do you think?" "WHOOAAAAAA!" Eric exclaimed when David didn't say anything. "OUTA SIGHT!" Jody added. "Beautiful!" David exclaimed. "You two are absolutely beautiful! But... I'm not sure I understand." "You like?" Adam said as he hugged his dad. "Well.... Yeah, I do! But I'm not sure I understand..." "I like 'em too," Adam said as he hugged his little brothers. "All except the leather diapers. They're a little uncomfortable." "Leather diapers?" "The breechclout! We can't wear anything under them, at least for the ceremony." "Ceremony?" "Come inside," Gerald suggested. "There's a lot to be explained. I can fill you in while Adam and John get the twins dressed, with your permission of course." "Twins? Dressed?" "Trust me, Dad," Adam said. "Please?" To be perfectly honest, David didn't want those two Indian boys going anywhere! He didn't want to take his eyes off them, ever again! Not only were they absolutely drop-dead gorgeous, with just the right amount of skin showing in just the right places, but they looked so incredibly happy! They were both literally beaming! What in the world! And now he stood speechlessly watching their behinds as they climbed the stairs, Jody and Eric behind them. Gerald chuckled at David's reaction. "They really are something," he agreed. "Please, sit! Can I get you something to drink? A snack perhaps?" "No thanks," David said. "You can answer one question for me though. Gerald, have I lost my son?" "Good heavens no!" Gerald exclaimed. "David, I have listened to Adam go on and on all week about how wonderful you are! Believe me, you never have to worry about losing him! But you might, at least I hope... you have gained another son." "Gained? But I thought..." "Please, let me explain. I think you'll be pleased." "An explanation would be good." "First let me explain the regalia. Incidentally we don't call it a "costume," or any such words. We don't even wear those types of clothes that much any more. In the summer the tourists like to see us wear it, but aside from that, and of course in the play, we seldom wear it." "Play?" "Unto These Hills. I'll let Adam explain that. But Adam and John are all dressed in traditional Cherokee regalia from three hundred years ago. Tonight they will both be initiated into manhood. Tonight they will become Cherokee Braves!" "A manhood ceremony?" David questioned uneasily. "That's the simple term for it. But please, relax. I've heard the stories too: the wild sex goings-on; ceremonial circumcision; demonstrating publicly the male sexual prowess. That's movies and storybooks, David! In reality the ceremony is merely a public declaration that a boy has reached the aged of manhood, or at least adolescence. In traditional Cherokee custom there were no adolescents, only children and adults. Typically a boy entered adulthood at twelve years old. This is the most serious and somber ceremony in the Cherokee culture." "But... Adam isn't... I mean, he's never known anything of his Cherokee heritage! How can he..." "I think you will find a big change in Adam, David. I hope you will agree that it's a change for the better. He has learned a lot about his heritage this week, and he wants to be a part of it. So many of the young Cherokee men right here in our village ignore the traditions these days, but John has always been very devoted to our history and culture, and Adam wants to be also." David's mind was blown totally out of the water. "But... why... how... I mean..." "I'm not finished yet," Gerald said. "In fact, I'm just getting started. I know this is all very new to you, and I'm throwing a lot at you all at once. But... well, the truth is... You see, to us as official, federally recognized Indians, we are not subject to the same laws you are. At least, not here on the reservations. That's why we have casinos, which have brought us from a starving, dying race to a people who once again have self respect, a bright future, and we don't have to keep looking to the white man for handouts. We don't do it here, but some Indian reservations have duty free shops, tax free tobacco and liquor stores, all that sort of thing. My point is, we are not always subject to all the same laws." "But I don't see..." "You will, very soon, David." Then Gerald called up the stairs. "Are you boys ready yet?" "Coming right down, Grandfather," John called back down. David saw shadows, then heard very soft footsteps on the stairs. "Tuhh-DAHHHH!" Adam called as he came down the stairs, followed by two grinning black boys, with John bringing up the rear. Jody and Eric were dressed in the same moccasins and ankle bracelets, the same style breechclouts without the leather leggings, the leather vests with fewer and less elaborate bead designs, and the headbands and waist bands, again more plain than their older brothers'. "They are of course too young to be in the manhood ceremony," Gerald explained, "but they will, with your permission, become Cherokee tonight." "You too, Dad," Adam said excitedly. "Did Grandfather explain it all to you?" "He's still working on it," David said. "But I think I'm just getting more confused." "The simple bottom line is this," Gerald said. "Sometimes our laws are a lot more simplistic than the white man's. Take for example adoption. According to Cherokee law, adoption occurs when a child has no parents and someone chooses to take that child. If adoptive parent and child agree, then it's done and irrevokable. Under Cherokee law, you have already become father to all three of your sons." "But, I'm not under Cherokee law!" "You can be. We have very strict laws on who can be considered Cherokee. Ordinarily you would not qualify, except that you have adopted a full blood Cherokee as your son. When he becomes a Cherokee man tonight, his father and brothers also qualify. The boys have your outfit upstairs, if you're willing. Based on what Adam has told us about you, I think you are a very intelligent man, and I'm sure you can see the possibilities. He is concerned that the twins will be taken away from you. As Cherokees, no one can touch them!" "Provided that we live on a Cherokee reservation," David pointed out. "That's correct. It might never come to that; but, well, all we're asking you to do tonight is to give yourself another option." David continued to ask questions. Gerald continued to answer patiently, knowing that he'd thrown a lot of stuff David's way in a short period of time. Meanwhile two pretty stunning little black Indians, their big brothers behind them, approached David. They didn't say a word; they didn't have to. Their faces said it all. "There is one more thing you need to know," Gerald said. "Before you make your decision, I feel obligated to tell you that I do have a selfish motive." I thought so, David thought to himself. Now he was about to get the double whammy! "I'm an old man," Gerald went on. "As far as I know I am in good health, but I'm still an old man. I am the only family John has. If something should happen to me, I want to be assured that John is taken care of. If you are Cherokee, and father of John's brother, you will be expected to care for John if he is still too young to care for himself." "I don't need to be a Cherokee to accept that responsibility," David answered. "You have my promise right now, John will never want for anything long as I can provide it." "Oh, but you do need to be Cherokee! John will wind up in the system the same as Adam did. You cannot make a binding commitment like that with Social Services." "Ok," David said after he had thought for a few minutes. "I have one more thing to day, and it has to be said before we enter into any such arrangement. Adam, would you and John please take the twins upstairs? I need to talk to your grandfather for a few minutes." "No need," Gerald said. "I know what you're going to tell me, and I already know. You and Adam are lovers." "You know? Adam..." "Adam didn't tell me. There are some things that cannot be hidden." "And you don't have a problem with it?" "Yes and no. I don't even pretend to understand such things, but I know they happen. Sometimes it's called abuse, and I am personally aware of cases like that. In your case I don't think it's abuse at all. I can see the love between you and all three boys, and between the boys. Without understanding exactly what I'm saying, I believe that anything driven by a love like I see cannot be all bad." John had a very bewildered look on his face. "I'll explain it to you later," Adam said. "You don't have to explain it," John replied. "I just don't understand why... uh..." John snapped a sharp look at his grandfather. "I'm sorry, grandfather," he said. "Adam, I just don't understand why you said no when I wanted to do it the other night." David now looked sharply at Adam. He couldn't understand either. How in the world could anyone turn down a looker like Adam or John? In his mind he pictured the two of them together, and it had an effect on him that he didn't need right now. "I thought I'd explained that too," Adam said. "I just... John, when you're committed to one person, ya just don't fool around. I was gonna ask my dad if it'd be all right, but I'm sorry, them's the rules. He comes first!" "This isn't the time or place," David said, "but I'm sure we can work something out. Adam, you never cease to amaze me! Now, do you two want to help me get dressed, or what!" David, Adam and John all became Cherokee men that night in March. Jody and Eric also became Cherokee children. David was particularly impressed with the ceremony. It was tasteful and solemn. There were several traditional Cherokee dances including the Eagle Dance, which John told them he was learning to do for the play called "Unto These Hills," an outdoor play held all summer every year in Cherokee. In the Eagle Dance, the solitary male dancer appeared, dressed only in his breechclout and moccasins, was decorated head to foot with feathers. He wore something on his head that looked something like a skull cap, with a high ridge of feathers going in a stripe from his forehead down the back of his neck. His arms were each fitted with a light wooden framework device, covered with feathers and made to look a lot like a large bird's wings. It was extremely well done, and despite the fact that most of the time David had no idea what all the symbolism meant, he found himself getting emotional. To complete the family circle, and to assure that David did shed some tears, Gerald Lee "adopted" David. This adoption, he explained, would impose certain obligations on all the family. Each was now legally obliged, according to Cherokee law, to care for the other. The five hour drive home was a happy and educational one. Happy because the red pickup contained five people, not four. John's spring break was just starting, and Gerald had consented for him to spend the week with Adam. Adam was going to present a report at school that would blow their socks off! He and his brother were going to appear in their full dress Cherokee regalia! This would be a show 'n tell to end all show 'n tells! Educational because David was absolutely astonished at how much Adam had learned about his heritage in only one week. He chattered constantly, filling in David and the twins on the culture that was now a part of all their lives. Every so often, when he wasn't sure of a fact, he had only to consult with John. Gerald had worked very hard to be sure that John knew who he was and where he came from. Now he was passing it on: to his brothers today, and to an entire class of kids next week. They told David and the twins about "Unto These Hills," an open air play performed every summer. It traced the history of the Cherokee, placing a fair emphasis on the "Trail of Tears." They explained that 'way back when, most of the Cherokee in Georgia, plus some in other eastern areas, were banished by the white man to a reservation in Oklahoma, where they remain to this day. The Trail of Tears was the path followed by these migrants. Some Cherokee, including the smallish band in the mountains of North Carolina, escaped the mass exodus, thereby becoming known as the "Eastern Band" of Cherokee. David chuckled to himself at how Adam had soaked up all this history like a sponge. Ordinarily he was no history buff! How things could change when one became interested! "Dad," Adam said at bedtime, "can... can I sleep with you tonight?" They'd had a very pleasant evening with Arnie and his family. Valerie had cooked dinner for them all and brought it over, knowing that if it were left up to David they would just go out to eat. The kids all got acquainted playing in the pool while David filled Arnie and Val in on all that had happened while they were away. "Damn," Arnie had said, "every time we let you out of our sight, you do something totally off the wall!" "It seemed like a good idea at the time," David replied. He explained that he'd never felt like he had a family, and therefore he'd never identified with any sort of culture or tradition. The Cherokee, on the other hand, reeked of tradition and culture! And now he was a part of it, and even more important, he would have something to pass on to his sons. "Adam," David answered, "your first night here, don't you think you should sleep with John? He'll be in your room all alone." "It's ok. He kinda wants me to sleep with you tonight." "He does? I find that hard to believe. He'll be all alone, Adam." "He... uh... he wants me to talk to you. And he knows what I want to do, and he said it would turn him on just knowing we're doing it." "Adam, you two haven't cooked up something have you? Like having him spy on us, or listen at the door, or something?" "No, Dad! He wouldn't do that! He just... well, Dad, can we... er.... you know what you liked so much?" "You want to make love to me?" "Can I? Please?" This was an offer that David couldn't refuse, and Adam knew it because David had told him so. It seemed to David that it had been so long! In actual fact it had only been two weeks, but it was the single most erotic, pleasurable act David had ever experienced! Adam had been so careful, so gentle; he wasn't terribly well endowed, so he could perform the act for the enjoyment of both, with little or no pain. And lying on his back looking up into that gorgeous face, black hair falling over his bare shoulders, as the brown eyes looked down on him while they were united, was enough to send anyone to Paradise! "You sure know how to sell a product," David said as he pulled Adam down on top of him. Neither lover was disappointed. They lay on the bed, both naked, Adam on top of David. They kissed deeply, time after time. Adam had had a wonderful two weeks, learning of his heritage, meeting his brother, getting to know the culture that was so much a part of him. He was so happy, and now on top of all the other good things that had happened to him, he had a history! He was a part of a race that had every right to be very proud, and he was proud! But most of all, he was in love, and he and his lover had neglected each other far too much while Adam sought the past; now it was time to catch up, to deal with the present. David could feel Adam's fingers probing his anus, could sense the urgency in the touch. There was no lubricant; there was no need. Adam repeatedly sucked mildly on his finger between kisses, getting it very wet, then probed and gently inserted it into David. Then there were two, then three. "You really like this, don't you?" Adam whispered. "Adam," David replied, "if we don't do another thing, ever, except kiss and you enter me, it'll be all right with me. Now please, will you quit fooling around with those incredibly talented fingers of yours and put something more substantial in there?" "So as I understand it," Adam said mischievously, "you want your son to fuck you!" "No!" David said loudly as he almost shot his load at the thought. "I want my son to make LOVE to me! There is a difference!" Adam took pity on his panting father and entered him. In one smooth, easy thrust his almost six inch penis was totally immersed in David's rear end. The sensation brought tears to both their eyes. "I love you so much!" Adam said as he flopped his upper body down on David. "I love you too, ya gorgeous lil Cherokee!" David said as he wriggled, trying to get more of Adam inside him. * * * I sincerely hope you enjoy my writing efforts.
