LOVE OF A LIFETIME PART 33 Two sheriff's deputies and a State Trooper showed up at Doc's just a few minutes after Doc took the pot shot at Brad's car. It was mass confusion. Every one was talking at once. All I wanted was to get out of the handcuffs and into some clothes, but the police were adamant that I wait until the evidence technicians arrived. I asked for some water and food. I hadn't eaten anything since Wednesday evening because I was afraid Brad might have put something in the sandwiches he left that would tranquilize me. It was not almost midnight on Saturday, and my stomach was starting to rebel. Matt rushed to put something together for me. One of the sheriff's deputies objected to my eating saying that we should wait until I was taken to the hospital to be checked out. That set both Doc and Matt off. They got right up in the deputy's face, and I heard Matt say, "I'm giving the man some food and water, and you're not going to stop me. You're treating C.Z. like the criminal. This bull shit is going to stop right now. It's bad enough that you're making him stay naked and shackled like some animal. He's getting this food and water, or you'll have to shoot me!" The deputy blustered a little more, but in the end he allowed Matt to give me the sandwich and water. Andy sat next to me making sure that I ate and drank slowly. After what seemed like hours and with no evidence technicians arriving on the scene, the cops finally decided that I should be checked out by a doctor at the hospital. That was all Doc, Matt, and Andy had been waiting for. They had me loaded in the back end of Doc's 4Runner and on the way to the Emergency Room before the cops realized what was happening. One of the Sheriff's Patrol cars followed us in to the hospital with sirens and lights going full bore. The Emergency Room doctor went ballistic when he saw the handcuffs and chains on my ankles and wrists. He started yelling at the sheriff's deputy to get the "damn shackles" off. The deputy tried his key on the cuffs around my ankles and wrists. They opened with ease. I thought the doctor was going to have a cow. It would have been funny if I hadn't been lying there on the bed in the Emergency Room nearing exhaustion and naked except for a thin hospital blanket. They took some blood tests, dressed the abrasions from the handcuffs, used a rape kit to take samples from inside my rectum, hooked me up to an I.V., and finally put me into a room for the night...or what was left of it. The clock on the TV in the room read 4:15 a.m. I remember Andy and Matt coming into the room, but I don't remember much else beyond that. I didn't wake up until almost noon on Sunday. ********** Brad Miller was apprehended by the State Police on Interstate 77 near the Virginia border. The next week his mother and father were charged as accessories because they had been providing alibis for Brad although those charges were later reduced to providing false statements to a law enforcement agency. They'd been covering for him all of his life. He asked them to lie for him, and they did. I wish I could say that everything returned to normal when I got out of the hospital on Monday, but that wasn't the case. The whole experience had really messed up my mind. The bruises from the beatings and the abrasions on my wrists and ankles form the handcuffs healed in about a week. My psyche took a lot longer to heal. In short, I was a basket case! I alternated between wanting Andy to hold me and flying into a rage if he touched me. Poor Andy stayed with me for the first week, but then he had to go back to Chicago. Justin, Megan, Jason, and everyone else tried to help me, but I know I wasn't easy to deal with. During the first week when Andy was staying with me, I gradually learned what had gone on while I was being held captive by Brad. Cory had come home from Jason's on Thursday morning to find my truck still parked next to the apartment. Larsen was barking and howling. He had almost chewed a hole in the door. Cory said Larsen bolted out of the door as soon as it was opened. He circled around the truck and kept going back and forth to a spot just up the street which turned out to be the place Brad had parked his old Jeep Wagoneer. Cory called Jason who called the cops. About the same time, Andy called the apartment looking for me because I hadn't gotten off the plane in Chicago. At first the police wanted to treat my disappearance as a missing person case meaning that nothing would start happening for at least twenty-four hours. Ron Kestler and DeShuan McMillan convinced them that my disappearance might be linked to the gay bashings and the killing of Roger Hall. The police had questioned Brad Miller before the football team left for their away game, but he was released and allowed to travel out of town with the team after his mother lied again and told the police that Brad had been down visiting with her the night I was kidnaped. Andy caught the first flight down from Chicago that afternoon. He stayed out at Doc and Matt's while Justin and Megan stayed in the apartment in case I showed up there or someone tried to contact me. ********** When Andy was back in Chicago, Justin made sure I was up and attending my classes. I couldn't work out with the track team. It wasn't a physical problem. It was mental. I barely had enough energy to go through the motions of attending classes. Andy called every night. I tried to make out to him that everything was going well, but he knew better. I found out later that was because Justin talked to him every day as well. When Justin tried to hug me, I pushed him away. He asked each night if I wanted him to sleep in the bed with me. I told him no. I started sleeping in a pair of sweat pants and a tee shirt and locking my bedroom door. The thought of being naked in front of someone almost made me physically ill. Poor Cory was shut out of his room. He spent the nights over at Jason's or on the couch in the living room. I was a mess, and I wasn't getting any better. ********** It was little Gary Williams who finally hit the switch that started my return to normalcy. It was the weekend before Thanksgiving. Andy had stayed up in Chicago because of the long holiday weekend coming up. He was coming down on Wednesday and staying until late Sunday. Justin and Megan had spent Friday night with me. They'd gone to bed about midnight, and I'd stayed up watching an old movie until almost two before going to bed. I was so sleepy I forgot to lock the door to my bedroom. It was about seven in the morning and just beginning to get light when I woke up feeling a presence in the room with Larsen and me. I sat up. Fear washed over me as memories of Brad's raping and beating me flooded my brain. Gary was standing in the doorway dressed in his old Spider-man pajamas which had gotten way too small for him. He showed a couple of inches of wrist, ankle, and stomach where the pj's didn't provide coverage anymore. Larsen was thumping his tail in the dog bed. "Gary, what are you doing here?" "Hi, C.Z. The door was unlocked. I saw the light on in the kitchen, and thought you were up. I'm sorry." "I must have left the light on when I went to bed last night." I lay back down on the bed. Gary came over to the bed and crawled in under the covers. "I didn't think it was cold outside, but it is. Can I stay in here with you until I warm up?" "Sure, Tiger. When you get warmed up, you can have some Froot Loops unless Justin's eaten them all." He snuggled right up to my chest and wrapped his thin legs over my hips. My body tensed reflexively, but I willed myself to relax. Gary was too young to understand why I didn't want to be touched. "Why are you wearing a tee shirt and pants? I thought you slept naked. Did you get cold last night?" "No. I've just started wearing a tee shirt and sweats to bed." "Is it because that bad man hurt you?" I felt a catch in my throat. "Y...yes. It makes me feel safer." "You're safe now. Mommy and daddy say that the man is going to be in jail for a long time for what he did to you and that other man." "Yes I don't think we have to worry about Brad Miller for a long time." "Then why don't you feel safe?" "I don't know, Tiger." "Justin's here. He'll protect you. Andy comes and stays lots of times. He can protect you. All of us can protect you, C.Z....mom, dad, Uncle Gary, Uncle Matt, Jason, Cory, and me. We'll all protect you." He wiggled around so he was looking right in my face. "We all love you, C.Z." I hadn't cried since falling into the safety of Andy's arms almost a month earlier; suddenly I felt tears well up in my eyes. "I know you all do. Come here." I pulled him in to my chest and hugged him. Then he did the most incredible thing. He put his hand under my tee shirt and placed it in the middle of my chest. The warmth from his hand seemed to flow into me. "My daddy says that you've locked away your heart because that man hurt you and you're afraid he'll come back and hurt you again." "Your daddy's a smart man." "Can you unlock your heart for me and Andy and Justin?" He pushed against my chest as he said that, and I felt a jolt deep in my chest like my heart had just started beating again after being stopped. The sensation traveled from my chest down to my arms and out. It was like some a tight band around my chest and arms had suddenly been released. "I think you just unlocked it for me." My voice was barely audible even to me. He giggled. "Good. Can I have some Froot Loops now? I'm all warmed up." I laughed and blinked away tears. "Yeah, I'm all warmed up too. Let's go get some breakfast." ********** Gary ate two bowls of Froot Loops while I had some toast and coffee. I was on my second cup of coffee when Kathy Williams appeared at the door of the apartment. "Gary, what are you doing over here?" "C.Z. and I were just having breakfast." "I can see that. Did C.Z. ask you to come in?" "Well...not really..." "It's okay, Kathy. He helped me unlock my heart. Didn't you, Tiger?" He smiled. Some bright colored pieces of Froot Loops were caught in his teeth. "Yup. I did." "I think you have a future as a therapist, kiddo." I ruffled his mop of dark curls. Kathy collected Gary and disappeared back down the stairs to their house. I cleaned up the kitchen and sat on the couch with another cup of coffee. Larsen lay down on the floor beside me. I could still feel little Gary's hand over my heart. There was a warmth deep inside my chest. I reached down to pat Larsen and saw my tears drop onto his fur. I was finally crying, and I hadn't realized it. I slid down off the couch and lay on the floor beside Larsen. I buried my face in the long fur of his chest and cried. I finally cried. ********** I managed to pull myself together before either Justin or Megan got up. I made breakfast for the two of them. After breakfast we hit the books because we all had a couple of tests in the short week before Thanksgiving vacation. After being emotionally shut down for almost a month, my new state was difficult for me to control. Tears welled up several times during the day, but I was able to control them each time. Both Justin and Megan took notice of my emotional teeter tottering. By late afternoon, I couldn't stay in the apartment any longer. I felt the walls closing in on me. I got up from the chair and headed to my room. "Guys, I'm going to go for a run. I'll be back in an hour or so." I saw Megan poke Justin in the ribs. He jumped up. "Hang on,C.Z., I'll go with you." Justin, Larsen and I headed out the door a few minutes later. I hadn't been running since before being abducted by Brad Miller. I was way out of shape. Justin was patient and kept his speed down to my pace. Larsen, however, was clearly pissed that we weren't going fast enough. He kept bounding ahead and then returning to run along side me as if he were trying to get me to increase my pace. When we got back to the apartment, Megan wasn't there. The note on the table read, "Justin, I've gone back to my apartment for the night. I think you and C.Z. need to spend some time together without me. I love both of you. Megan." "Well, C.Z., it's just you, me and the dog tonight. Let's order a pizza, drink a few brews, and kick back." He smiled. I smiled in return. "Yeah, bro. I think that's a good plan. I'll go catch a shower before we order the pizza." I turned to head toward the bathroom but stopped halfway there. I turned around and faced Justin. "I would never have made it through these last couple of weeks without you. I can never thank you enough." The tears started flowing as soon as I said that. Justin was across the room in a shot and embraced me. I laid my head on his shoulder and cried...again. He held me tightly as he stroked my hair with one hand. "We all love you, C.Z. You haven't let any one, even Andy, hold you like this since..." he searched for words, "...since your kidnaping." "I know. It's like I've had all this bottled up inside of me, and it's finally ready to blow out." He kissed me on the top of my head. "No, I think you finally dealt with your hurt, anger, and fear." "I know I haven't been easy to live with the past month." He pulled away and looked at me with a huge smile on his face. "Well, shithead, that's the under statement of the century! I've missed my brother. I think he's finally coming back." I broke away and headed for the shower again. "Yeah, maybe he is." I was just starting to soap up in the shower when Justin pulled aside the shower curtain and entered the tub with me. I jumped back. "Justin! What are you doing?" "I need a shower too, bro. More than that, I think you need to be with someone. Turn around. I'll wash your back." I turned around. Justin guided me under the spray. He took some shampoo and began gently massaging it into my hair. I tensed at first, but then relaxed as his fingers kneaded my scalp. God, I was crying again! Tears streamed down my face the entire time as Justin took the soap and gently washed every inch of my body. And I mean every inch. His soap covered hands moved across my back and over my chest and stomach to my cock and balls and then down between my legs. His body pressed against my back. He knelt down behind me and moved his hands into the crack of my butt and then washed around my asshole before moving down to my thighs and legs. That shower was one of the most emotional experiences of my whole life. It felt like Justin was washing the ugliness of Brad and all his hateful acts over the past three years out of my body and soul. For the first time in a month I felt truly clean, and I got hard for the first time in a month. Justin stood up and pulled me back into him with his left hand as his right wrapped around my erection. I could feel that he was hard also. His dick lay pressed between my ass cheeks. As he moved his hand up and down on my soapy dick I could feel him gently moving his hard member against my butt. I stood there leaning back against Justin. His right hand continued to move slowly on my dick as his other hand moved across my chest. I felt the cum beginning to boil up in my balls. Justin sensed I was getting close. He whispered in my ear, "Let it go, bro. Let all of it go. I love you. Andy loves you. Let it out because we love you." I let it out! I tensed and arched my back. The cum shot out of the end of my dick hitting the wall of the shower stall. Justin's body tensed moments later. His dick pulsed between my ass cheeks, and I felt his hot cream on the small of my back. He turned me around into a full body embrace. Our still hard dicks pressed against one another. "We all love you, C.Z. Come back to us." He kissed me full on the lips. He didn't use any tongue with the kiss, but I felt his love for me...more than brother for brother...more than friend for friend. We were connected deeply in some way, almost more deeply than Andy and I were connected. Like Gary Williams that morning, Justin had found a way to reach into my soul and release the hurt and anger. It was just simply not there any more. Justin moved us into the shower stream and rinsed the soap off our bodies. I stood there like a mannequin as he turned off the shower and used a towel to dry us. He took my hand and led us to my bed. He lay on his back and I curled up under his arm with my head on his chest. "Go to sleep, C.Z. It's over. It's all over." We never did have any dinner that night. I stayed in bed until the next morning. Every time I woke during the night, Justin was holding me. (To be continued)
