Chase McPhee % "Are you gentlemen receiving enough nourishment?" "I'm stuffed Alberto," Sean replies. "Ah, yeah. That goes for me too, Alberto." "Good. Your Aunt Bernice and I thought we would take a walk, since we have the opportunity to have someone watch the boys. Catch my drift?" Sean grags his 'drift'. "Sure. We don't mind at all, do we Ken?" "Not a problem, Alberto and thanks for the meal." "Say your prayers, gentlemen. Your Aunt Bernice bought out the proceeds of the church dinner, last night." "You go to church, Alberto?" "Every Sunday. Your Aunt Bernice is a big fan of the man upstairs! Hee hee heee." Ken and Sean got a kick out of Alberto's religious meaning. "I'm not much up on that church stuff. Kind of boring to sit around and listening to that corny music," Sean explains. Ken adds, "Yeah and when the music's not lulling a guy to sleep, it's that boring guy trying to convert ya." "You make it sound like the middle ages, Sean," Alberto takes his stance on the religious issue. "I think you boys have been deluded into stereotyping something that you haven't tried in a long time. Much like gays are stereotyped, as well as artists and musicians. "Wow, Alberto, you're really up on this stuff. Sorry if we offended you." "It's no so in as much you have offended me, Sean and Ken, but by your thoughts and not investigating, you may be missing out on something you could learn to like. Try it sometime." "Maybe we should, Ken." "You two think about it. Now, if you'll excuse me." "Don't worry about the boys, Alberto. They're safe with us." "We shouldn't be gone long. Plus your dad should be back from the hospital soon." "Dad? In the hospital? What happened?" Sean gasps. "Philip and your brother were racing out on the road. Philip tripped and fell, skinning his knee quite badly. I'm sure it's nothing to worry about. Mr. Barr called a little while ago saying Philip required a couple of stitches. They'll be home in an hour or so, if you can keep the troops entertained that long." Ken replies, "No problem, Alberto. Enjoy yourselves." "Thank you." "C'mon, Sean. Let's clean this up and then check up on the little dudes." "Yeah. Hey, what do you think about this church stuff, Ken?" "I don't know, Sean. Like you said, it's always been so boring, however there's something that I like that you said." "Oh? What's that Ken?" "We." "We?" "I figured you didn't catch it, because you're the one who said it, Sean. Responding to Alberto, you offered 'we' should try it!" "I said that?" "Yes and I figured maybe you're beginning to accept us as... boyfriends to start?" Ken walked over towards the sink. Taking the plates from Sean's hands, he set them in the sink. Placing his hands on Sean's torso, Ken brought their waists together, his lips focusing on those soft red ones in front of his face. As they touched, Sean's arms took the hint and reached up, his hands clasping the Asian's shoulders. The force of hugging drew them closer in a special bonding. "Did you like that Sean?" "Well, yeah. Sure I did Ken." "And what did you feel?" "How did I feel, Ken?" "Yes. How different did it feel having your arms in bondage around me, than strung up with ropes? "Hmm... now that's a different approach." "Tell me, Sean. Did it feel any different?" "Um, yeah. I mean it seemed like it wasn't forced. It's like something flowed from me to you without being made to do it. That sound crazy, Ken?" "No, not at all Sean. Even for myself, when it's forced, it's like there's no meaning to what we're doing, other than trying to make each other hard." As Ken explains himself, he feels more relaxed and senses Sean receiving the same. "I am a little hard, Ken." "That's good, Sean. At least it seems more 'honest', in a way." "Natural." Sean says. "Exactly. Um, it feels real good, but I think we better pay attention to our responsibility, Sean." "You're right, Ken. C'mon, let's see what the guys are up to." % Barry and Steve reported to the waiting room, after Chad and Matty made it explicit that they wished to be left alone with Philip and Aidan. "I think I'm getting the same vibes that you talked about Steve." "Oh and how does that go, Barry?" "About what you said about letting go. I'm afraid to face the facts. At least you can talk about it." "Oh, you mean about Sean." "Yeah and Chad. I know he's a senior in high school and your Sean is in college, but as I see Chad and Matty, well all I can say it's a matter of time." Steve sat there with his arm up on the rim of Barry's chair, just above his shoulders, which seemed almost as if caressing his shoulder blades. Even though the only two souls there, they were on their best behavior. "Yeah and I think it's in particularly tough terms for you Barry because of... of how your life has been turned upside down." "I could think of something even worse than that, Steve." "Oh?" "Yeah. Striking out on a new adventure and not having somebody to lean on." "If you're talking about me, Barry, the feeling is mutual. In fact, I sometimes feel guilty." "Guilty, Steve?" "Yeah. I mean, here you are, with four boys who have been through this traumatic experience and it's like I'm trying to capitalize on the events surrounding your move here to West Richland." "You? You feel that you're capitalizing on my plight? That's bullcrap, Steve." "Oh? And how do you figure that?" "Well, first of all, what guy in their right mind takes a total stranger, let alone a stranger and all of his family and transplants them into his own family setting? Huh? Answer me that." "Takes one to know one, as the saying goes." "Oh?" "Yeah. Stems down to one person and a few facts." "Oh?" "Get what I'm talking about, eh Barry?" "Bernice." "Bingo! Yeah, she's shown not only me, but the guys such love and kindness that, well I have to admit that she, as well as her kooky counterpart..." "Haa ha ha ha haaaa... Alberto is a work, that's for sure!" "Yeah, well the two of them have made a dramatic impact on my boys, as well. In fact, I didn't mention this, but when I tossed Seb out on his ass, Bernice said she was dissapointed she wasn't there. Said she would've kicked his ass into the Pacific Ocean!" "Hmm..." "What Barry?" "I haven't seen her feet, but her attitude alone could do it!" Steve and Barry filled the room with their laughter, as Steve's arm slumped, rubbing Barry's shoulders. Then they settled down into the serious chat mode. "Barry, you mentioned Tom and Mark and the sensitivities they may experience if... well if we ever decided to, um.." "Shack up, Steve?" "Yeah, hee hee.. that's it. Um, what would you think about you and I going to see a counselor and then maybe inviting the two to go with us after we've sat down and talked this thing out?" "Headshrinker, huh?" "Hee hee.. yeah." "I don't know, Steve." "Listen, Barry. I know all of this is sudden. It's a big shock to me too. I mean, out of the blue this stud moves into the neighborhood and I'm completely taken by him... you... Barry, I want you in a big way, but..." "Steve.." "No, hear me out, Barry. This doesn't only have to do with my feelings, precisely. I know for a fact that you feel something for me, but it's also the kids." "Yeah. Not so much Chad, because Matty's off in a different household." "Chad's older, too, Barry." "But still he's seventeen and in high school." "True, but I'm sure you've seen it as well as me, Barry, that he is much more mature for his age." "Yeah, I think the whole situation suddenly projected Chad into that demeanor. Can't say it's been a hurtful process. At least from the point that it's helped me out tremendously with the boys." "He sure is a winner with Philip, but I can see Aidan starting to look up to him, too." "Philip and Chad have always been close, but Chad has really shown his love for him more openly over the past few months. I'm really thankful that Chad has turned out the way he has. Both for him and other's sake. Makes me feel bad about one thing." "Oh? What's that Barry?" "Like you said, Steve. He stole Matty away from your Sean!" Steve smiles, a bit on the embarrassed level, but then concedes, "Might sound that way, but what I want for Sean has to be what Sean wants for himself. For awhile there, it seemed that the two were tight, but I guess it just wasn't meant to be." Even though they had been the only two in the waiting room, Barry didn't look about to check out for anyone that might be viewing the two of them. He reached over and took Steve's hand from his thigh, in his two hands and rubbed up and down Steve's lighly haired forearm. Steve got a little electrical shock from Barry's few words, "I love you too, Steve." Barry's eyes shot down into his lap, as Steve stared at the man's bowed head. % "Sean, how come queer guys are always looking for a guy to get naked with in bed?" "Um, ah, I guess it's because they're lonely." Ken saw that Sean had a tough time dealing with Tom's question, so decided to throw in his own two cents. "Sean's right, but there's also other reasons why gays get into bed naked. Some of them involve just feeling good together and other feelings are about true love." Tom, sitting on the floor with the other four kids, takes up the helm of the conversation, turning to face Ken, whom sits on the sofa. "How do you know if you want to do it or because it's love, Ken?" "Well, the two guys you see there in the video, are making love, um... sucking each other, for the fact that it feels good. Some gay men get together, like a woman and a man would do, have their physical and mental emotions combine. It's not the same though, as if they loved each other." "I don't get it. If they don't love each other, then why do it?" "Hmm... well. Okay, Tom, I'm not trying to pull anything 'dirty' here, but have you ever stroked your own cock?" Tom turned red. Ken, now assuming that has come to pass, carries on without Tom confessing. In fact, the other four guys have turned their attention from the screen to Ken and Tom's frank discussion. "So, when a guy strokes himself, could be you, me or even Sean here, it feels real nice. Now, you probably haven't done this, but I have because I'm gay and I'm older, but I've had another man suck my cock, Tom. The feeling is so much different than if I did it myself with my hand. I'm not suggesting you do it, but you really can't understand how good that feeling is, unless you have it done." "Yeah, well I'm not about to become a queer, to have it done!" The manner of Tom's reply sets the room aflame with giggles. "Let me cue you into something else, Tom. Some men that aren't gay like having their cocks sucked by other men. They might lean towards being bisexual, having feelings switch back and forth between men and women both. But there are some straight men out there that have a curiosity and live with that urgency until they actually get a blow job. Maybe in some straight lives some guys have had one or two blow jobs, given by men. Sometimes it's a woman giving it." Stev gives his immediate opinion, "That's gross!" "Denis?" "Yeah, Tom?" "You said we can ask you about anything gay, right?" "Yeah." "Have you ever had a guy suck your cock or sucked a guy's cock?" Ken sees the embarrassment roll over Denis' face and quickly amends the conversing, "Tom, doesn't matter if Denis has or hasn't. I think this all started over whether a guy has sex with another guy because he just wants a cheap thrill or is serious, like loving a guy and enjoys it through that means." "I sort of get it. What about AIDS?" "AIDS, well that's a whole different subject. If guys go around changing partners, from man to man, there's no telling what the other guy has and before it's detected diseases could pass from man to man. Two guys who are in love with each other don't play with other men." At that moment, Sean, whom has focused on everything Ken has been saying, moves his arm over onto Ken's thigh. His hand is now caressing Ken's hand. Ken picks up on the detail, but keeps right on going with his intent conversation with Tom. "That's a lot to think about Ken." "It sure is, Tom. The most important thing is to not let your questions stay inside your head. Get them out and ask. It's the only way you are going to learn something. And don't go on just what one guy says. Find out about guys and gays from a lot of sources." "Like what?" "You've got enough of us 'queers' around here, but there's also the internet." "Like where?" "There are stories online, but being the age you are, you are not, by law allowed to read them. Some of them are fiction, but they paint a picture of mostly what gay relationships are about. Other ones are true stories of guys discovering themselves as being gay. I would let you read one, if I were there with you to explain things." "Can we do it now, Ken?" "Um, I don't think now is a good time, Tom." Poor Ken. Soon all the boys are on him to look at an online sex story. "I'll tell you what, boys," Ken explains, "I will talk to your dads about this and if they both agree, all of us will sit down, read some stories and then talk about it." "Really Ken?" Tom asks. "Yes. It's important that this is talked about. I mean, Sean here or Chad or Matty can go and look on their own and know the difference, but I think for either of you boys to go on your own and read, well it may not be explained as you should see things." "When, Ken?" Tom asks impetuously. "Well, first I don't know either one of your dads, so it's going to take some time." "How long, Ken?" Mark picks up on it. "Why don't you give me a few weeks, okay?" Ken directs to the whole group. Denis pipes up with, "Sean, why don't you ask dad?" Then it's followed up with Eric badgering the older Clark brother. Sean gave in, "Okay, I'll talk to dad, but all of ya's have to promise that whatever dad says, goes." They all promised, even though Tom had his fingers crossed behind his back! % "Mr. Barr?" "Oh, yes doctor?" "I think you can take Philip home, but complete rest for the remainder of the weekend." "Fine, doctor and thank you so much." "Um, I understand from the nurse that you will be teaching science at West Richland high?" "Yes, starting this Monday." "Well, normally your insurance wouldn't kick in for a few days, so we'll wait on the billing." "That'd be great. Thanks doctor, um?" "Gerard will be fine." "I'm Barry. Nice to know you." The two amicably shook hands and then the nurse rolled Philip out in a wheelchair, with his leg up. "Hey dad!" "Well look at you in the sports car, Philip!" "Millie says I can take this roll-around chair home." "Oh, will we really need it?" "Barry," Doc Gerard confided in him, "we've got dozens of them. Towards Thursday you can drop it back to the hospital, if Philip is up to it. His leg should be elevated for a few days." "What about school, Gerard?" "Oh yes. I'd say he could go back around Tuesday." "Ohhhhh," Philip said, disappointed he would miss his first day of school in their new town. Gerard saw the thrill die. "Tell you what, Millie you're on school alert for a couple of days!" Millie, the nurse on duty chuckled and replied she would be glad to accompany Philip to school. "Are you sure this is not an imposition, Gerard?" Barry asked. "Oh no, but I have to warn you on one matter." "Oh?" It's everyone in the room that drew their attention to Doc Gerard. "Don't let Millie get an apron around her waist or you'll be subjected to a gourmet meal." Steve comes out with, "Millie, there's an apron in the kitchen drawer!" Millie roared with laughter, as the other's followed. In a few ways, Millie resembled Bernice in both style and manner. The laugh had to be cloned! % "Beautiful afternoon, isn't it?" "As fresh as ever, Alberto. I can't believe that snowseason is right around the corner." "You know, Bernice, you say that every single fall!" "Do I? How many falls have I been saying this, Alberto?" "Ever since Miguel was a little boy." "Remember how we each took a hand and swung him up to the clouds?" "I remember, Bernice." The two walked a little on in silence. "Bernice, what do you think about Barry?" "A charming man. Very handsome, too." "Now Bernice, if you're trying to make me jealous, it's working!" "Haa ha ha haaa... you? Jealous? How could you be jealous of a gay man, Alberto?" "Aha! Just what I suspected!" "Well, if that's what you were trying to get out of me, Alberto, then why didn't you just damn well ask?" "Oh, you know how I beat around the bush, Bernice." "Hmm... I think we're far enough away from civilization if you want to try and seduce me, Albie!" "Mmmmmm.... I hope you'll be thinking of me and not some hot number that just checked into the neighborhood!" "Say that again and I'm going to be hitting below the belt!" Instead Alberto hit way above the belt, plastering Bernice's lips with his own. % As the white elephant rolled along the mountain scenery, both dads gave a lecture on the do's and don't's of running on a gravelly road. What it boiled down to is not to run. "Dad?" "Yes, Aidan?" "Remember when a priest says that confession is good for the soul?" Barry and Steve look at each other. "Okay, Aidan. C'mon. Let's have it. What really happened?" Philip breaks in, "Aidan, you don't have to tell them." Barry tells his son, "On the contrary, Philip, Aidan's gotta tell!" "Okaaaaay," Aidan looks down in his lap, then up to Philip. Philip jump starts the confession, "Dad, I was up on Aidan's shoulder to reach a bird nest in the tree and he lost his balance." "Philip hung onto the tree real good," Aidan follows. The tale unravels, with Philip picking up the lead, "Yeah, but I couldn't hold on long enough for Aidan to figure out what to do." "Yeah, and when Philip dropped, I tried to catch him." "Yeah, but my feet pushed Aidan away." "And then Philip fell into the street." The 'two boy' explanation rattled off the events in a nutshell. Steve replied, "Well, that's quite a different tale. Why didn't you tell the truth, boys?" Philip looked down. When his chin came up, it looked in Chad's direction. "Oh, I get it," Chad sensed the reason. "Remember when Squirt climbed up on the roof, dad?" "Oh, so that's it. Is that why you boys made up your 'running story', Philip?" "Yeah, Dad." Steve raises his hand, like a first grader. "Um, somebody want to fill me in?" "Me too," Aidan makes it a point. "It's really all my fault." "You're fault Uncle Barry?" "Yeah. You see when Philip fell off the roof, he landed in Chad's arms, thank God. However, I was furious. I'm not sure why, but when I got down off the roof, I gave Philip such a spanking.... well I've always lived to regret it." "But I told you dad that I got over it." "I know you did, Philip, but the thing is I shouldn't have hit you so hard and for so many times. I guess we're both lucky that Chad had been there to peel my hand off your ass." "I don't remember that part, dad. I mean my behind hurt, but I didn't think your hand got stuck to it." "No, Philip, what dad means is that, well if I wasn't there to stop him, you might not have been able to sit down for a week!" "Holy cow! Really, dad?" "Well at least you've forgotten about the intensity of it, Philip." "I remember it hurt a lot dad and... well, that's kind of why we made up the story. I didn't want Aidan to get spanked like that too." "Oh great." Barry's disposition rolled over into the guilt zone, as he thought about Philip tying in the horrific spanking to his friend's punishment, as well. "First of all," Steve butt in, "the only one that disciplines you, Aidan is myself, so that wouldn't have happened. Understand?" "Yeah, dad." "Secondly, as Barry explained he knew he hit Philip too hard for too long." "Uncle Barry?" "Yes, Aidan?" "Would you have spanked Philip again?" "No. I'm just glad to see that both of you boys turned out to be okay and that Philip isn't hurt real bad. Besides, that incident on the roof, like you guys trying to get the bird nest out of the tree, was an accident." "Then why did you hit Philip?" Steve picks up that question, "Aidan, sometimes dads do things that are spur of the moment. It might be right or it could be something they look at later and say, 'I guess I punished my son too hard for the offense'. I know that anger in itself can be a nasty tool, but none of us are perfect and sometimes we make mistakes." "Uncle Barry, did you make a mistake with Philip?" "I think I lost control." "You did dad," Chad blurted out. "But there's a reason for it, I think." They all looked at Steve, with wonder on their faces. "Right now I think you boys are too young to understand and we're almost home, so we'll talk about it another time. However, I... us two dads want you both to understand that next time something like this happens you should not be afraid to tell the truth. Promise?" "Okay dads," both boys vowed. "Good. Now, I don't know if you two know that tomorrow we've been invited to lunch at a neighbor's home. They have an indoor swimming pool." "Is that Kadeajades?" "Huh?" "I was trying to think of where we could go swimming in the cold and couldn't figure out where, when Philip said something about swimming inside," Aidan reports. "Hmm, well the swimming pool is enclosed indoors and the people's names are Kade and Jade." "Oh, what dummies we are, Philip!" Aidan yelled out, laughing it up. That released the tensions in the atmosphere of the white elephant, giving everyone a laugh. "The point I want to make is that you wouldn't be able to go swimming Philip, with your bum knee." "Oh fiddlestix!" Philip called out. Steve turns to Barry and says, "Looks like y'all easterners are pickin' up on that thar country talk!" Matty turned the white elephant into the Clark residence. "Uh-oh." "What Steve?" "Just thought of something. The jon's on the second floor." "It's not at Aunt Bernice's!" Philip yells out, excitedly. "Mom wouldn't mind Philip staying at our place," Matty suggests. Aidan voices his opinion, "And if Philip is staying at Aunt Bernice's, I'm staying too!" His father replies, with a giggle, "Thanks for asking, son!" "So, what do we do here?" Matty lays the decision on Steve. "Well, it would be a tough ride rolling that chair up the circular staircase!" Aidan and Philip question the dad's proposal, "HuH?" Matty starts the elephant rumbling. % "We're back!" Like last night, there's footsteps pacing the steps, pounding like the hammers of hell. "Aunt Bernice!" "Well, what's got you boys caught up in a tornado?" "Nothing." Suddenly the five young teens take on a subdued manner, looking over at Sean and Ken. "Hmm... If I wasn't mistaken, I'd think there's a powwow that took'em place while we be gone!" Mark asks, "Is that hillbilly talk, Aunt Bernice?" "Don't rightly know. Did it sound like it?" "Well, yeah." "Then I guess it must be, since you mentioned it Mark." Next, they all heard the front door open. "It's the dads!" Tom yells out. Not only that, but they are all stage struck when they see Philip rolling in, seated in his new 'sports' vehicle. "Wow! You look bad, Philip!" Mark remarked. "Yeah, but Doctor Gerard says I'm going to live!" "I for one am sure glad of that, you little swashbuckler!" Bernice acknowledged, throwing arms around the ten year old. "Millie Spencer! Why I haven't seen you in a dog's age!" "I know. It's been awhile, Bernice." "Well come into the kitchen. Alberto'll throw on a pot'o'coffee and we'll do some catching up!" "That'd be mighty nice of you, Bern." "So, what's the verdict on my little hedgehog, Stevie?" Millie answers, "I'm going to be pushin' this little munchkin around for a few days." "Oh, then looks like we're going to be having a house guest." "Oh no, I can disappear at night and come back in the morning, Bernice." "Nonsense, Millie. Unless you found somebody to go home to!" "Not yet." "Then say you'll stay." "Maybe just the night." "In that case, the coffee's off... Stevie, go play bartender and Barry?" "Yes, Bernice?" "Whip me up one of them Blue Sapphires... no, make it two. Millie, you wouldn't believe how Barry makes this out of this world drink...." Bernice's bubbly voice runs on, as the two head out to the kitchen. "Whew, I didn't think mom would shut up!" They all laughed at Matty, knowing darn well what the story was. "Oh, I don't think you've met Ken, Dad. And Barry, this is my friend... my boyfriend Ken." Both dads greet Ken, shaking his hand, saying how nice it is to meet the hot looking Asian. Matty asks, "So what have you teen dudes been doing?" Tom boldly says, "Watching queer videos." "I hope you had company." Ken says, "Yes, we were right along there with them. In fact, I think they brought up some interesting questions." Steve and Barry's attention drew keen on Ken's statement. "And?" Steve inquired. Mark filled him in. "Tom wanted to know why gay guys are always in bed." "Hmm," Barry said. "So, Steve, what's the answer to that?" "Oh gee. Thanks Barry." "You're welcome." "Alot of reasons. They might just be in it for the sex or they could love each other." Tom says brashly, "That's the same thing Ken said. Gee, Uncle Steve, you're almost as smart as Ken!" Steve says, so only Barry can hear, "Well, don't that beat all!" "Hee hee.. maybe you should go back to college, Steve." "Yeah. I think I can still fit in the 'jock' category." "Hmm... maybe I'll join you and we can shack up in the dorm together." Fortunately the bar had been a distance from where all of the boys gathered to have it out with Philip on how he came to be the victim of a supersonic wheelchair. "So, Steve, I guess we'll have the same sleeping arrangements tonight?" "Yeah and... tell you the truth Barry, after today I think I'm going to be needing it!" "You're not the only one." "Wouldn't it be nice to come home from school everyday and fall into one another's arms, Barry?" "Steve, you're making this hard for me." "Good, because I think we really need to do this, Barry." "Steve, Steve, Steve..." Barry took a long snort of his Blue Sapphire... he didn't continue his train of thought. "I know Barry. I guess things are kind of complicated." "Why don't we leave the subject til later." "Right. Then maybe I can wear you down some more!" Barry looked at Steve, shaking his head. % "Nice room you have here, Matty." "He's got quite a video collection," Sean directed Ken's way. "Yeah, I think the guys are about ready to wear out my QAF deluxe set." Chad offers, "Maybe it's time to switch over to DVD's, Matty." "What? And buy all these over again?" "Um, you could always donate them to the Clark Library." "Chad, sometimes you come up with some good ones." "Thanks Matty." "This isn't one of them!" Chad goes after Matty, tickling him and reducing him to rubble on the bed. Next thing, Sean cues Ken into some roughhousing. It comes to the point where Matty is stretched out on the bed, his arms above his head. "Tickle torture time!" Sean calls out. "No, you guys! C'mon!" Matty protests. But Matty's pleas are wasted, as Sean starts in on tickling the exposed ribs, as Matty's shirt rides up his body from the stretching. Ken decides to go for Matty's nips and begins softly mashing them in between his thumbs and fingers. "Hey, watch it Ken, you're giving Matty a raging hardon," Chad suggests, looking at the stretched outline of his jeans. "OOooooh," Matty arches his back, in between Sean still goosing his ribs, as Ken does a soft assault to his pecs. Chad is just kneeling there, taking it in. Sean offers, "Just don't sit there, Chad, do something." So, he takes Sean up on his offer, bending over Matty's face and taking in his lips. "Oh yeah! Go Chad!" continued.... Copyright 2005 T.
