They were both into board games, which wasn't very popular in their small town. So when the two of them could get together to play a round or two, they jumped at the opportunity. It was a small town, after all. There wasn't much excitement around, especially during the week. Mark pulled into Evan's driveway and noticed that the front porch light was out. He thought it was odd because Evan had a friend coming over. He brushed it off as a small slight and got out of the car with the game under his arm. He knocked on the door three times and waited. And waited. And waited. He knocked again. Mark checked his watch and confirmed that it was in fact 7 o'clock on the dot. He tried to peer into the glass in the door but it was just refracted light. Not much light, he noted to himself. Mark knocked louder this time and rang the doorbell again. He saw movement walking to the door. Finally, he thought. "Oh hey, yeah, Mark, sorry about that," Evan said, standing on the other side of the screen door in a robe. He looked flushed like he'd just seen a ghost. "It's okay," Mark said, pushing on the screen door to get into the house. Evan didn't move far from where he had opened the door, giving the impression to Mark that he didn't want Mark there at that moment. "I'm here to play some board games," Mark said, holding up the game he brought with him. "Oh yeah, see," Evan stuttered. "I'm not feeling too well tonight. I should've called or texted or something. I'm sorry." "Yeah, it's okay," Mark said, eying Evan up for his strange behavior. This was certainly not like him in any way, so Mark was suspicious. "You should get your rest so I'll get going here in a minute. Do you mind if I use your restroom quick?" Evan turned his attention to the hallway off the back right wall of the living room. His face turned even more white. Mark eyed him up, thinking that Evan could possibly be on something. "Uh, yeah, I guess. Hold on a second," Evan said, racing to the hallway and toward his bedroom door. He shut it before Mark could catch sight of inside the room. Mark walked to the far end of the hallway and went into the bathroom. He didn't have to piss, but he wanted to see what was going on with his best friend. Evan was not acting like himself and so Mark was concerned. He leaned up against the counter, killing time until he could wash his hands and leave. His mind was racing with possible explanations when he heard the answer loud and clear. Well, it was much more quiet and muffled, but it was unmistakable. Mark swung open the door and saw Evan standing outside of the bedroom door. "You old dog," Mark said, walking up to Evan and smiling. "You have a girl in there, don't you?" Mark couldn't remember the last time either of them had a girlfriend, let alone the last time either of them got laid. It wasn't something that happened all that often for two guys in their 20s who have time set aside each week to play games together. Mark laughed and slapped his friend on the shoulder. He was proud of the guy. It had to happen sooner or later, he thought. Mark ribbed Evan for a minute or two about his sly moves finally working for him, but Evan never said a word. He just stared straight ahead, too awkward or too nervous to crack a smile or say a word. "Evan, buddy, it's okay. I'm happy for you. I wish I didn't have to drive over here to find out, but good for you. Can you just tell me who it is? Do I know her? Is she pretty?" Evan didn't answer. He continued to stare ahead as if a statue in a bathrobe museum. "Dude, come on," Mark said, slapping his shoulder again for good measure. You're killing me. Who is she?" Mark was more relieved that his friend Evan wasn't on a bender than he was all that interested in the girl. His relief got the best of him though, and so Mark started acting goofier in the moment. "Come on, man. You gotta tell me," Mark said, pretending to reach for the door knob to find out himself. Evan finally moved and blocked Mark's fake push to open the door. Whatever was going on in there wasn't any of his business, and he was okay with that. In the flurry of the moment, though, the door knob did get turned and the door did swing open. And another giggle came out from the darkness of the room. Mark could see some movement, though it wasn't coming from Evan. Evan had now frozen solid once again with a scared look on his face. He was on the verge of crying. Come on, Mark thought. Who is she? Like someone's mom or something? The figure on the bed giggled again and started to move more. It was a short figure. As it moved closer to the light of the hallway, Mark was getting a better and better look at it. To Mark's shock, it wasn't a mom at all. In fact, it wasn't even female. He looked at Evan, who wouldn't make eye contact. Mark looked back at the figure and realized that it wasn't even an adult. He was staring at a nude boy who just crawled off of his best friend's bed. Stunned, Mark closed his mouth, which had sprung open at the sight of the boy, and walked out to the living room. Evan followed behind him after he closed the bedroom door once again. "Look, I can explain," Evan said to Mark, who was walking straight toward the door. He opened it and paused for a moment, not to hear Evan's explanation but because he realized he forgot his game in the bathroom. He considered leaving it and just leaving. As he turned back around to leave without it, Evan caught his shoulder and held on to it. "Will you just hear me out?" Evan asked, a level of panic and fear in his voice that Mark had never heard before. "What is there to explain, Evan?" Mark asked back. Evan's hand was still on Mark's shoulder as he tried to guide his friend to the couch. He shut the front door behind them. "Who is he," Mark asked. "He's the son of a neighbor." "And...?" Mark asked, leaving the pause fill the room around them. "And I help them out. She lost her job over a year ago, and I've been helping them when I can. I don't know, she's just generous in her own way, I guess." "With him?" Mark asked. "Yeah, I guess." "Evan, there's no guessing here. Is it what I think it is?" Evan considered his answer carefully. He considered flat out lying, but decided against it. He was already in way too deep. A lie would be called out and a bad situation could escalate quickly to an even worse one. "Yeah." Mark ran his hands through his hair and stared at the ceiling for awhile. He didn't know what to say. He couldn't fathom the situation. "You need to explain this to me," Mark told Evan, in a way that Evan knew he had to remain truthful. "They live two doors down from me. His name is Aaron. Like I said, his mom lost her job, they're poor, they have a hard time eating a meal a day. I help out where I can. And in return, she offers..." Evan let the sentence die without finishing it. He wasn't sure if he could finish it. "Does she know he's over here right now?" Mark asked. "Yeah." "Does she know what you're about to do to him?" "Yeah," Evan answered. "So, what? After you're done, you just push him out the door and he goes home with a load inside of him to his mom to eat the food you paid for?" "Yeah." Mark's mind still hadn't caught up. He felt like he was saying words, but they didn't carry any meaning. "Explain," Mark said. Evan told him about helping out Aaron's mom for a few months when she started to notice Evan eyeing him up. She confronted him about it, but Evan lied about it. She knew he was lying and said so. She asked him to leave, which he did. They didn't see each other for two weeks when the two of them arrived at his door, asking for his help. He brought them inside and fed them. Over the meal, she thanked him for his help and said that she wanted to give him something in return. She looked at Aaron and then looked at Evan. She told him that she'd wait for them to finish and then they'd leave. Evan took Aaron to the bedroom. He didn't plan on actually doing anything because the situation was too wild. Instead, he used that time to talk to Aaron. He was caught up in this mess with his mom's job and money troubles, and he wanted to check in with him. He eventually learned that Evan wasn't the first he was offered to. The others weren't so kind in getting to know him. They took their payment any way they needed to and left his mom to come collect him. Mark didn't know what to say. His mouth was wide open again. "Did you fuck him?" "Not that time," Evan answered. "Not that time, but you have since?" Mark asked. "Yeah, about twice a week since." "And how long ago did it start? "It's been probably six months ago now," Evan answered. "How old is he?" "He's 9," Evan said, leaving out the fact that he just turned nine a month before. "Is he okay with it?" "Oh yeah, I ask him every time before we start. He always says yes and giggles." "Did you already ask him tonight?" "No," Evan answered. We didn't get that far before you started knocking on the door." "Can I meet him? Can I hear you ask him?" Evan nodded his head, holding that motion while he was deep in thought. He stood up and took Mark back to the bedroom. They shut the door behind them again and turned on a small lamp that shone just enough light in the room so that they didn't run into objects. "Aaron, this is my friend Mark," Evan explained. "He wanted to say hi to you." Aaron looked at Mark and giggled. "Can you say hello to him?" "Hi Mark, I'm Aaron." "Yes, Aaron. Nice to meet you," Mark responded. Aaron giggled and looked back at Evan. "Aaron, I need you to be truthful with me, okay? Do you want me to put my dick in your butt tonight?" Evan asked. Aaron nodded. "We talked about this, Aaron. I need you to say it out loud for me." "Yes," Aaron responded, giggling. "Aaron, you need to say it." "I want you to put your wiener in my butt, Evan," Aaron said, giggling more. He looked at Evan's relieved face and they both turned to Mark, whose turn it was now to be frozen stiff. "Is he gonna watch us?" Mark's face moved, but the expression wasn't clear. Evan and Aaron studied it, trying to gauge what it was supposed to mean. After a few seconds of silence, Evan answered. "Yeah, I think he is. Do you want to show him what we do?" "Yeah!" Aaron cheered back. "Okay, then you need to get me hard again," Evan said, untying the string around his robe to let it open. TO BE CONTINUED
