Chapter 51 – Michael.

The rest of the school week went smoothly.  Jamie went to practice with the chorus for the first time after school on Wednesday, and when he came out he was excited and eager to tell me all about it. 

“Mrs. Finnegan was teachin’ us a new song.  It’s called The Rose, but I’m not zacly sure what the song is talkin’ ‘bout.  It’s kinda slow, but it’s kinda nice too, even if I don’t really understand it.” 

“I know that song, and after dinner I’ll pull the lyrics up on the computer and explain what the verses mean.” 

“K, that will prob’ly help.” 

I made sure that I sat down with Jamie and explained the song was about love, and then I interpreted what the lyrics were saying.  I described how love could sometimes be smothering for the person being loved, especially if the other person was obsessive, and at other times it could be painful, particularly if the love wasn’t being returned.  I also told him the desire to be loved could control a person’s actions and consume his thoughts, and the fear of having your heart broken could cause you to miss out on love.  Even with all of that, I explained that if you nurture the love you feel for someone then it can be the most rewarding gift you can give or receive. 

“That’s like it was with my mom and now that I’m with you, cuz I know both of you love me and I love both of you too.”  I merely smiled, tousled his hair, and kissed him on the forehead because I was too choked up to respond. 

Jamie also asked to shower with me and wanted to know if he could spend the night with Dakota and me as well, which I didn’t have a problem with.  Happily, Dakota didn’t have a problem with it either, so after I washed each of them we went into the bedroom to sleep, but Jamie wanted something else.  He asked me to suck him off first, and since Dakota didn’t have a problem with this either, I rimmed both boys and sucked them off before we turned in.  Once they were both sated, they cuddled with me as we fell asleep. 

On Thursday, Glen attended his first band practice, and although he said he couldn’t do much except to watch and listen to the other students play, he wasn’t discouraged. 

“I can’t wait until I can play with them too, but I gotta do a lot of practicin’ first.” 

“Yes, you do, and I noticed that you’ve been practicing at home and in the SUV on the way to school.” 

“Yeah, cuz there’s nothing else to do in the SUV ‘cept ride, so why not practice durin’ that time?” 

“That’s a good use of your time and I’m glad to see you’re taking this seriously.” 

“I am, and maybe some day I’ll be in a real band too, not just the school band.” 

“Then that’s what you have to focus on and work toward.” 

I also stopped at the grocery store on the way home so I could pick up what we needed for the weekend.  I would have chosen to do this the following night, but there were a lot of other things we needed to do during that time, so I took care of it today instead.  When we got to the house the boys helped me put things away, and once that was taken care of I got started working on dinner while the boys did their homework. 

Later, after we’d eaten dinner, Glen came over to ask me a question.  “Uhhh, can I shower and sleep with you tonight, cuz Jamie and Kota did it with you last night?” 

I quickly looked at Dakota to see how he was reacting.  “Yeah, go ahead,” he urged.  “I’ll sleep with Jamie and we can suck each other off this time.” 

“Is that ok with you, Jamie?” 

“Yeah, I’d like that,” he agreed. 

Since everyone was copasetic, I was able to show Glen a little love too.  He wanted us to fuck each other, which I didn’t have a problem with, but this time after he dumped his load in me, when I returned the favor I decided to explain about some things he might not be aware of. 

“Look, some day you’re going to have a boyfriend or a real lover, so let me teach you a few things you might not know about.” 

“Yeah, ok, but what kinda things are you talkin’ ‘bout?” 

“I’ll show you, but before I do I have a question for you.  Do you know how to kiss, and I don’t mean the peck on the lips that you probably gave your mother.” 

“Uhhh, you mean like I see on TV and in the movies?” 

“Yes, the open mouth kiss you would have with a lover.” 

“Ummm, I’ve never done that.” 

“Would you like to learn?” 

“With you?” 

“Do you see anyone else in here?  Yes, with me, or I could get Dakota to teach you if you don’t want to do it with me.” 

“Nah, you can show me, cuz I don’t want Kota to find out that I don’t know how to kiss like that.” 

“Ok, if you’re sure, but we can stop if you’re uncomfortable doing this.  Just let me know.” 

“K.”

Over the next few minutes I explained what we would be doing and then I practiced with him and corrected his mistakes.  He was getting better, but I knew he’d need more practice, although I didn’t want to spend more time on it now.  I decided to move on to other things instead. 

“I know I’ve rimmed you before, but has anyone ever worked on your nipples?”

“Yeah, a couple of guys did that to me before and it felt pretty good.” 

“Do you want me to do it to you as well?” 

“Yeah, cuz I wanna make sure I know what to do if I do it to someone else.” 

“Ok, then I’ll explain each step as I do it.” 

I then instructed him on how I used my tongue to stimulate the nipple and get it erect, and then I demonstrated how to suck on it and playfully nipped at it with my teeth without biting it.  Once I’d covered each of those issues, I let him practice on me. 

“Did I do that ok?” he asked after working on both of my nipples.

“I know a little bit about the neck, but you can show me those things too.” 

I worked on both of those areas with him and explained what I was doing at the same time.  When I finished, Glen was eager to move on. 

“Will you fuck me now?”

“Sure, I can do that for you.” 

Glen wanted to try something different tonight, so we both got out of bed and I had him lean over the mattress so I could enter him from behind.  After thrusting in and out of him for a few minutes, I withdrew and had him turn around, and then I pushed him backward until he was lying on the mattress with his butt hanging over the edge.  I then entered him again and kept going until I filled him with my creamy load, and then I waited for both of us to recover. 

“Thanks, you taught me a lot tonight.” 

“I hope you remember all of it for future use.” 

We then went into the bathroom to clean up a bit, and when we got into bed he spoke.  “I want you to cuddle with me again.” 

“Do you want me to spoon up behind you like last time, or do you want to sleep with your head on my chest?” 

“I think I’ll sleep with my head on your chest this time.” 

After he got into position, I wrapped my arm around his waist and that’s the way we fell asleep. 

On Friday, we hurried out of school just as soon as the last bell rang, because we had a lot to do before Michael arrived.  First of all, Brad was going to drop off the repaired ATV and I didn’t want to keep him waiting.  He wasn’t there when we arrived, but he showed up about fifteen minutes later with the ATV fastened to the flatbed. 

“I replaced a few things and fixed it so it’s as good as new,” he said after getting out of the truck while the driver was tilting the flatbed and unloading the ATV.  “Is the fella around that had the accident?” 

“No, he’s no longer with us.” 

“I can certainly understand why you wouldn’t want him around after seeing the damage he caused.”

Brad then showed me the itemized bill listing the things he’d repaired, and I saw it included a new gas tank.  When I asked him about it, he explained. 

“I didn’t spot it at first, but I discovered a rock must have punctured the other one, and seein’ the boys are driving it I thought it would be best to use a new one, rather than repairing the other one.  I didn’t wanna take any chances with these young fellas.” 

“Yes, and I’ll feel better knowing you did that as well.  What about the helmet?” 

“Once a helmet has been in an accident with a head injury, it is always best to replace it.  The foam part of the helmet is made for one-time use, and after it is crushed it is no longer as protective as it was originally.”

I then handed him my credit card and he went to the truck to swipe it into his computer and then I signed for the repairs. 

“Thanks Brad.  I appreciate your help with this.” 

“Anything for an old friend and a good customer,” he said, and then he and his driver got back in the truck and took off.

Once they had gone, I put the ATV in the garage before going into the house to fix dinner.  I also told the boys to do their homework now, because we’d be on the go all weekend long and it would be best to get it out of the way.  I also told them we had other things to take care of after dinner, so they did as I asked. 

After we sat down and ate, the boys helped me clear off the table and clean up the kitchen, and then I asked them to clean the downstairs for me.  While they were doing that, I went upstairs and got the spare bedroom ready for Michael and I also cleaned the bathroom I would tell him to use.  Dakota could take turns with me in my bathroom, but we wouldn’t shower or sleep together, and Glen and Jamie could share the other bathroom.  That way we should avoid anyone walking in on anyone else, since the boys weren’t used to locking the doors behind them. 

When we finished doing those things, I agreed to watch TV with the boys, because we all needed a chance to relax and unwind.  As usual, I had a boy on either side of me and Jamie was sitting on my lap. 

“Are we gonna be able to do this when Michael is here?” Jamie wanted to know. 

“I don’t see why not.  I think it would be good for him to see how close we are.” 

“Good, cuz I don’t like it as much when I’m not sittin’ on your lap.” 

When we finished watching TV, we went upstairs to shower and turn in.  Dakota made certain to let me know it was his turn to be with me tonight, since Jamie and Glen had been with me the previous two nights.  After we showered, I asked him a question. 

“Do you want to make love to me first, or do you just want me to make love to you.” 

“I wanna do it to you too this time.  Is that ok?” 

“Certainly.” 

Although I was a little surprised by his decision, since he usually preferred when I made love to him, but it was something we’d done before.  Although he generally did it to me doggy style when we did this, he wanted me on my back this time so I folded a pillow in two and placed it under my butt to lift it up for him.  Then, he got into position and entered me. 

I was also shocked that he skipped the foreplay, because I knew he loved doing some of those things as well, but he was definitely all business this evening.  I’d make it up to him when we switched places and would do those things to him before we made love.  For now, however, Dakota was working hard to give both of us as much pleasure as possible. 

While he was thrusting in and out of my backside, I had a strange thought.  I wondered if he’d chosen to do this tonight merely because he knew Michael would be here over the weekend.  Was this his way of marking me as his territory, so Michael would know I was his?  There were times when I felt Dakota was as territorial as a grizzly that marked trees to keep other bears away.

I woke up earlier than usual the next morning, possibly because I was looking forward to seeing Michael again.  I wanted to discover if he looked the same as I remembered or if he’d changed, and I had even looked back at my college yearbooks to see how much I’d changed as well.  I hoped neither of us was disappointed. 

After fixing breakfast for the boys and myself, I made sure the kitchen was spotless and the rest of the house looked good as well.  Once I’d taken care of those things, I sat down at the table to enjoy a cup of coffee as I waited for Michael to arrive.  While I was doing this, Dakota came over and sat down beside me. 

“You’re excited about seein’ him again, aren’t ya?” 

“Yes, the same way anyone would be excited about seeing an old friend they’d lost touch with, but that’s all.” 

“Are you sure?”

“I’m positive.  Don’t worry, because he won’t leave his law practice in the other state and I won’t leave this place, so nothing will ever come of this.” 

“Good, cuz you’re mine,” he said before getting up and rejoining the other two in the family room. 

It was probably another hour and a half before I heard a car pull in the driveway, and I got up to see if it was Michael.  The boys either saw what I was doing or heard the car too, because they came out to join me.  When I was certain it was Michael, I opened the door and went out on the porch to greet him, with the boys trailing behind me. 

“Michael, it’s great to see you again and you’ve hardly changed since I last saw you.” 

“And I see you’re able to lie with a straight face,” he teased as he reached out his hand to shake.  “I haven’t done too badly, but I’ve put on a few pounds since then and lost a little muscle tone, but I try to keep in decent shape.  You, on the other hand, look exactly the same as I remember, except you changed your hair style.” 

“Now who’s lying,” I countered as we shook.  “I haven’t done badly during that time, and chasing the boys around has kept me young and prevented me from gaining any more weight.” 

“I see, and they’re quite a handsome group.” 

“Thank you, and let me introduce you.  Boys, this is Michael Dunn, a friend of mine from college.  Michael, this is Dakota, Glen, and Jamie,” I continued while indicating each boy as I said his name. 

“Nice to meet each of you,” he said, “but I’m still surprised that Eric is a dad now.” 

“He’s a great dad,” Jamie quickly replied. 

“Yeah, he’s the best,” Dakota added. 

“And we all love him a lot,” Glen followed. 

“Wow, you’ve got your own fan club and cheering section all rolled into one,” Michael joked. 

“Yes, I couldn’t resist picking up strays and bringing them home, and now we’ve all fallen in love with each other.” 

“You’re very lucky young men,” Michael added, “and Eric’s lucky too.”

“Ok, let’s go inside and get reacquainted.  Do you want the boys to get your luggage?” 

“Sure, that’s a good idea, so who wants to get my suitcase for me?” 

Glen volunteered, so Michael handed him the key.  “It’s in the truck.”

“And when you bring it inside,” I added, “you can leave it at the foot of the stairs and we’ll take it up to the spare room later.  We’ll go to the family room to chat and you can join us when you’re done.” 

Glen didn’t have a problem with that, so the rest of us made our way to the family room.  It was apparent that Dakota wasn’t going to stray too far away from me while Michael was here and I hoped it wasn’t so obvious that Michael would be able to guess the reason he was doing this. 

When we got to the family room, Michael sat down in one of the chairs and I sat down in the one across from him.  Jamie and Dakota were looking at me oddly for a few seconds, but then they sat down on the sofa, and Glen joined them when he came back inside. 

“So tell me how you suddenly became a family man,” Michael prompted. 

I gave him the abbreviated version about how we came together, and I also told him a little about what our lives had been like since then.  The boys had assured me that they didn’t mind if I told Michael about their backgrounds, so not only did I tell him those things, I also told him about the scare we’d had when some guy claimed he thought he was Jamie’s biological father.  Jamie interjected that he was glad the guy wasn’t his dad, because he wanted to stay with me, and I think Michael was beginning to understand how close knit we were as a family unit. 

“So tell us a little about yourself, Michael.  What have you been up to since I lost touch with you?” 

He then told us about going to law school and how tough it was, and he also talked about applying to various legal firms and taking the bar exam, but he left out any talk about relationships.  Shortly after that, I heard someone’s stomach growl and realized it was already past lunch time. 

“I can either fix cheeseburgers, French fries, and green beans for lunch, or I can whip up some spaghetti and meatballs, along with garlic bread and a salad.  It’s your choice,” I told Michael.

“Before I answer, is there a steakhouse around here that I can take you to for dinner later?”

“Yes, it’s about twenty minutes away and we’ve gone there before and really like the place.” 

“Good, then let’s have the spaghetti and meatballs.  Italian was my second choice if there wasn’t a steakhouse nearby.” 

“Spaghetti and meatballs it is then, and you can either watch TV with the boys or come out and chat with me while I’m working.” 

“I wanna help you fix lunch,” Dakota quickly added. 

“Of course, I can always use your help, so which do you want to do, Michael.” 

“I think I’ll spend some time with these two and get to know them better.” 

“Ok and everything should be ready in about a half hour.” 

Once we’d gone to the kitchen, I turned to Dakota and spoke.  “I’ve told you that you don’t have to worry and you don’t have to hover over me every minute.” 

“I’m not doin’ that.  I just want to help you do this, cuz I’m learnin’ more every time.” 

“Ok, if you say so, but don’t be so clingy that Michael figures out the reason why you’re doing this.” 

Suddenly a light bulb went off in his head.  “You really think he’ll figure that out just cuz I wanna be with you?” 

“Yes, because sons don’t usually cling to their dads, but boyfriends cling to their lovers.” 

“Oh, ok.  I’ll try not to do that then.”

He helped me prepare lunch, and then we called everyone out to the table.  As we were filling our plates, I decided to mention something to Michael. 

“Dakota is learning how to cook and he did most of this by himself while I watched to make sure that he didn’t make any mistakes.” 

“That’s really smart of you, and I wish I’d learned how to cook.  It would have come in handy when I was in law school and even now, because it gets expensive eating out all the time, especially in the city where I practice law.” 

“Yeah, I wanted to learn how to cook so I could do it when I was livin’ on my own, but I also wanted to do it to help Dad so he doesn’t have to fix all the meals.” 

“That’s really considerate of you,” Michael told him. 

After we finished eating, we cleared off the table, and then we sat around the table and chatted some more as we sipped our drinks.  Michael asked each of the boys questions about their former lives and school, and the boys told him what he wanted to know.  We did that for about and hour when I had an idea. 

“It’s still warm enough out to go swimming, so did you pack a swimsuit?” 

“Of course I did.” 

“Then how about we change and take a dip in the pond.  We can carry your suitcase up to the spare bedroom so you can change, and then we’ll all go down to the pond.” 

“That sounds good to me.” 

After we’d changed into our swimsuits, we headed down the lawn on our way to the pond.  The boys went ahead and raced down the dock before cannonballing into the water. 

“You’ve got quite a group there.” 

“Yes, and they’re really great kids.” 

“I can see that, and I can also see how close you all are.” 

“Yes, it’s been like that since day one.  I never really thought about having kids, but now I’d never consider living without them.” 

“Then I’m happy for all of you.”

We swam for about an hour, and then we got out and headed back to the house to change and relax.  We watched TV for a while and the boys found a movie that we all agreed on, and when it ended Michael spoke. 

“What do you say about heading over to that steakhouse now?  It’s Saturday night and a holiday weekend, so we’ll probably have to wait a while for a table.” 

“Yes, that’s a good idea,” I replied.  “We can all ride together in my SUV, but you’ll have to move your rental car first, so I can back it out of the garage.  You can pull it over in front of the other bay for now.” 

After we changed again, Michael moved his rental vehicle and I backed the SUV out of the garage.  The others then got in with me and Dakota actually told Michael he could sit in front.  Then, he got in back with the other two, and I thought this was quite a concession for him. 

During the ride, Michael turned around so he could speak with the boys.  “When we get there, I want each of you to order whatever you want.  I’m a lawyer and make a pretty good salary, and this is my treat, so don’t look at the prices and just get what you’d like.” 

“Are you sure, because I’m certain this is more than you first bargained for,” I countered.

“I’m positive.” 

“Just so you know, I don’t mind splitting the bill with you.” 

“No, this is my treat.” 

Since Michael didn’t seem to have any reservations about doing this, I didn’t either.  We had a short wait when we got there, but that was mainly due to the size of our group, and when we were ready to order we all ended up getting the filet mignon.  I helped to remind the boys about how they liked it cooked, and the boys all chose the mashed potatoes to go with it, while Michael and I opted for the baked potato.  Michael also ordered a couple of appetizers for us to share, and while we waited for those things to be delivered, Michael asked a question. 

“Have you thought about what you want to do tomorrow and Monday?” 

“Yes, we have.  We thought we could go to the state park tomorrow.  We can swim and go out for a boat ride, and I’ll pack a cooler so we can eat there as well.  How does that sound to you?” 

“I like it, but what about Monday?” 

“The boys thought you might like to see how much land I own, so they wanted to take you out on the four-wheelers.  We have three of them, so have you ever driven one before?” 

“Actually, I have.  A guy I met in law school invited me to visit him and his family one summer.  They lived on a ranch in Wyoming and used the four-wheelers to get around, so they taught me how to drive one.” 

“You’ll be using one of the boys’ ATVs, which is an automatic, so I hope you don’t mind?” 

“No, I don’t, but what will they ride then.” 

“Two of them usually share one and take turns driving, and Jamie has volunteered to ride behind me.” 

“I hope I’m not messing things up for them.” 

“No, this was their suggestion.” 

“Ok, then it sounds like our weekend is planned.” 

When the food came, we enjoyed our steaks and continued chatting as we ate.  The boys told Michael about riding the ATVs, about Jamie nearly crashing the first time he crossed over the stream, and about Shawn wrecking one of the ATVs.  Michael asked where Shawn was now, so I filled him in on that situation, and then the boys also told him about Laine, Caleb, and our trip to Disney World. 

When we finished our meal, Michael whipped out his American Express Platinum card and gave it to the server, and after he’d taken care of the bill we went out and got in the SUV. 

“Thanks for dinner, Mr. Dunn,” the boys told him in unison. 

“You’re welcome, but please call me Michael.” 

When we reached the house, we watched another movie together before turning in, and then the boys raced upstairs while I was turning off the lights.  As Michael and I were walking up the staircase a minute later, the boys were emerging from their rooms and going to the bathrooms to shower. 

“Damn, I guess they don’t mind who sees them naked,” Michael chuckled when he saw the bare butts and swinging meat. 

“No, they’re not inhibited at all when it comes to that.” 

“Me and Jamie are gonna use your shower, ok Dad?” Dakota asked as they both stood facing us. 

“Sure, go ahead,” I agreed. 

As they were taking off in that direction, Glen went into the bathroom I told him to use, and then I pointed out the other bathroom to Michael.  “This is your bathroom to use while you’re here and the boys will use the other one, but they’ll also use the master bathroom from time to time as well.” 

“I don’t mind sharing if they need to use this one.”

“That won’t be necessary and we’ve got it covered.” 

Once the boys had finished their showers, Michael and I went to shower as well.  I’d thought Michael would go to his bathroom right away, but he waited and continued chatting with me instead.  I think it was so he could check the boys out again as they returned to their rooms, and he was smiling and chuckling as he entered his bathroom a couple of minutes later.  I guess the boys had made quite an impression. 

Before long we were all clean and in our beds, ready for a visit from the sandman.  Even though I’m not used to sleeping alone, I was tired and fell asleep fairly quickly, and then I was totally out of it until the following morning.
