Chapter 53 – The End of Michael’s Trip.

While we were sitting around the table eating breakfast on Monday, I asked Michael a question.  “Did you pack a pair of jeans in your suitcase before you left?” 

“Actually, I did.  Why do you ask?”

“It’s because you’ll need them when we ride the ATVs.  Do you have a long sleeve shirt as well?” 

“No, I didn’t think I’d need one this time of year.” 

“Don’t worry; I’ll lend you one of mine, because you’ll need it when we go riding too.” 

Now that this had been cleared up, we finished eating and then we went upstairs to change.  When we came down again, I had to mention something else to Michael. 

“Do you plan on leaving at the same time we do in the morning or will you be sleeping in?” 

“I’ll leave at the same time you do, because it’s quite a long drive to get to the airport.  Why do you ask?” 

“I wanted to know because you’ll have to move the car again.  The ATVs are in the bay you’re blocking now, but since you’ll be leaving at the same time we do, you can pull it over in front of the other bay again.  Otherwise, we would have had to find someplace else for you to park it.” 

“Ah, I see, so I guess I’ll need to go upstairs and get the key, because I didn’t think I was going to need it.” 

After he retrieved it, he went outside and moved the car while I was opening the door to that bay of the garage.  I took the four-wheelers outside and then I gave Michael Laine’s old protective gear to use, along with the new helmet.  Once we were ready, we drove over to the storage tank to fill up the gas tanks on the ATVs. 

“This certainly comes in handy,” Michael said as I was doing this. 

“Yes, it beats lugging gas cans around and making the long trip to the gas station whenever we want to go riding.  Now let me tell you how we’re going to do this.  I want you to follow me and then Glen and Dakota will follow you.  That’s because they are familiar with where we’re going, but I want you to follow me precisely, especially when we’re crossing the fields.  I don’t want you to hit one of the ruts like Shawn did and then lose control.”

“No, I don’t want that to happen either.”

Now that everything was set, we got on the ATVs and prepared to take off.  We followed our normal route to start off, and when we reached the far boundary of my property I signaled the others to stop and we turned off the engines.” 

“Why are we stopping here?” Michael asked. 

“The boys also wanted to take a hike on the government land, and since they haven’t checked out this area before they wanted to do it here.” 

“Ok, that sounds interesting.  Do you think there will be any hunters roaming around in there?”

“If there are it will only be small game hunters and maybe a few bow hunters, because deer season doesn’t open for another month or so.” 

“Ok, this sounds like fun then.” 

“And if you’re quiet we may even see some deer,” Jamie told him.  “We saw a group of them the last time we walked on gover’ment land.”

“Ok, I’ll try to be very quiet then.”

This time while we were walking in the woods, the boys were not only scanning the ground and the area around them, but they would also occasionally look up in the trees as well.  I think they were hoping to find another deer stand, but that never happened.  However, we found some trails that the larger animals used, mainly the deer, when they were wandering through this area.  We also spotted some smaller animals, which included a few squirrels, a couple of rabbits, and even a fox.  The boys thought it was a dog at first, so I had to point out the differences.   

“A fox is smaller than most dog breeds and foxes have a longer and narrower snout, as well as a bushy tail,” I explained. 

“I didn’t know that either,” Michael said when I finished.  “I guess it must be one of the things you learn when you live this far out in the wilderness.” 

“This isn’t exactly wilderness, but it’s definitely country.” 

“I see, and I don’t know if I could ever live in a place like this.  There certainly aren’t enough people around for me to have a thriving law practice, that’s for sure.” 

“Yes, big cities are best for that, but just as you feel out of place out here, that’s how I feel about the city.  It’s ok to visit and to do some shopping, but I definitely wouldn’t want to live there, because I prefer the peace and quiet out here.  I have to admit that I even had trouble when I was in college, because it was always so loud and hectic there.” 

“And it’s obviously why you came out of your shell when we went on that camping trip.  Well, to each his own and I guess we are polar opposites when it comes to this.”

“Yes, I would agree with you about that.”

I happened to catch Dakota out of the corner of my eye as we finished talking about this, and he appeared to be breathing a sigh of relief.  Then, a grin formed on his lips and it stayed there for the rest of the day.  I believe he finally realized that what I’d been telling him about Michael and me was actually true. 

We spent quite a bit of time in the lovely and peaceful woods, but I could tell Michael was getting restless out here so I led them back to where we’d parked the ATVs.  I believe Michael would have gotten lost if I hadn’t led the way, but I think the boys were getting better at being able to spot the signs telling them which way they needed to go.

When we reached the four wheelers, Michael asked me a question.  “So how much of this land do you actually own?”

“When we started out, we followed the first trail until we took a right onto a second trail.  That trail separates my property from the government land, and this is the extreme edge of what I own.  The property line goes all the way down to the road,” I added as I pointed in that direction, “so that should give you a good indication of what I own.” 

“How many acres does it include?”

“I own six hundred and forty acres.”

“Damn, that’s got to be at least a hundred city blocks.”

“Actually, it’s the equivalent of 400 square city blocks.  I looked it up online when I knew you were coming to visit.”

“Wow, that’s unbelievable.”

Now that our discussion had ended, we donned our protective gear again.  Dakota and Glen switched places before we hopped on the ATVs, started the engines, and took off.  About halfway down that particular property line, I turned and started across the fields as I led the others through each field until we reached the house.  I had them pull up in front of the garage and turn off the engines, and then we got off the ATVs.  As soon as that happened, the boys immediately began to take off what they were wearing. 

“Damn, here we go again and I’m getting another show without paying an admission charge.” 

“You kinda did that already, cuz you paid for our dinner on Friday night and last night too,” Dakota countered. 

“I hadn’t thought of it like that, but I definitely enjoy watching the show.”

Michael and I stripped down as well, but we left on our underwear as we shook out the clothes we’d been wearing, and then we re-entered the house. 

“I can put your shirt in the laundry room, but I’ll need to pack the other things to take back with me.” 

“Let me give you a bag to put them in then, so you don’t mess up your other things.”

“That will work,” he agreed. 

The boys had stood by and waited for us, so now we followed them up to our rooms.  As he was watching them going up the stairs in front of us, Michael turned and commented to me. 

“This just keeps getting better and better.” 

“Yes, and I didn’t know they were like this until after I took them in, so this is a benefit I hadn’t counted on.”

“Indeed.”

After we’d all showered, we went downstairs and had a simple lunch, and then Michael asked the boys to tell him about the different clubs they’d just joined at school.  He also asked Dakota to draw him a picture, had Jamie sing him a song, and Glen played for him on his practice pad. 

“Not only are they handsome and have great bodies that they’re not afraid to show off, but they’re talented as well.  You struck gold when you found these three.” 

“I know.  I’m very lucky.” 

“And we are lucky too,” the boys chorused back. 

“I’d agree with that as well,” Michael stated.

As it grew later, Michael offered to take us out to eat again, but I told him I’d already planned to fix something here.  When I went to start doing that, Michael asked the boys to show him the educational programs they’d been telling him about.  Glen and Jamie agreed to do that while I was working on our next meal, but Dakota advised Michael that he was going to help me. 

“Yes, you can’t learn to cook if you don’t spend time in the kitchen,” Michael agreed. 

I called the others down to eat about an hour later, and after we’d filled our plates Michael spoke. 

“I’m really glad I had a chance to come here and meet all of you.  I truly enjoyed seeing you again, Eric, and I appreciate meeting these boys.  I’ve had a great time and you’ve all been wonderful to me.  I don’t know how you do it, though, because I could never live out here.  It’s great for a visit, but living this far out is something I could never do.” 

“Yes, it’s sort of the same as that children’s book, City Mouse – Country Mouse,” I replied.  “You’re the city mouse and I’m the country mouse, and we apparently wouldn’t survive in each other’s world.”

“It’s a shame, because I really like you and think we have terrific chemistry together, but you have a great thing going on here and I don’t want to mess that up for any of you.” 

“We appreciate it, and you’re welcome to come back and join us anytime.”

“Yeah, we liked havin’ you here too,” Glen added. 

“Yeah, we did,” Dakota and Jamie agreed, and this time Dakota was more enthusiastic when he said it.  It was probably due to the fact that he finally realized Michael and I would never be getting together again, at least not as a couple.

After we finished eating and cleaning up afterward, I asked a question.  “So what do all of you want to do next?” 

“Can we watch a movie?” Jamie asked. 

“I suppose that depends on Michael and what movie you are talking about.”

“A Dog’s Journey is one of the movies I saw that we can watch,” Jamie answered.

“And Rocketman is on too,” Dakota added. 

“How do those sound to you?” I asked Michael. 

“They both sound fine.” 

“We only have time to watch one tonight, so which one would you prefer?” 

“Let’s watch A Dog’s Journey then,” he said as he winked at Jamie. 

I took it those two must have formed some sort of a bond when they were together while Dakota and I were fixing dinner, and Jamie was eating it up.  Since this had been agreed to, we went to the family room to watch the movie.  Once I queued it up, the boys indicated they wanted me to sit with them on the sofa.  Once again, Dakota and Glen were on either side and Jamie sat on my lap.  Michael looked at us and smiled before he spoke. 

“Is this something you usually do, or are you just putting on a show for me?”

“Nah, we do this all the time,” Jamie responded. 

“I can see you all love each other very much and I’m happy for each of you.” 

“Thanks,” we all replied and then the movie started. 

About halfway through the movie Jamie slid off my lap and walked over to Michael.  “Can I sit with you for a while?  You look lonely bein’ all by yourself.” 

“I guess I was a little lonely and I’d enjoy your company, as long as Eric doesn’t mind.” 

“No, go right ahead.  I’ve got two more to keep me company,” I replied as I put an arm over Glen and Dakota’s shoulders. 

I thought it was sweet of Jamie to do this and it just added weight to my previous feeling that those two had bonded earlier.  We watched the rest of the movie like that and it was quite cute, and when it ended I turned off the TV and we headed upstairs for the night.  Jamie held back and walked up with me. 

“You aren’t mad cuz I did that, are you?” 

“No, absolutely not.  In fact I’m glad you did it.” 

“Good, cuz I still love you and want you to be my dad.”

“I’m glad to hear that.”

When we got upstairs the boys stripped down for their shower, but then they called Michael out because he was still in his bedroom.  “We didn’t want you to miss out on the show tonight,” Glen told him after Michael emerged totally naked as well. 

“I’m glad you thought about me and I’m happy to return the favor.” 

Once that was out of the way, each of us headed to the bathrooms to take our shower.  Since Michael was ok with the boys being naked like this, I agreed to let Dakota and Jamie shower with me this time, but I warned them there wouldn’t be any sex.  Michael might be ok with the nudity, but I wasn’t sure how he’d feel about more than that so I thought it would be best to avoid any problems.  Once I’d finished washing that pair, they washed me, and then we dried off and the boys returned to their rooms. 

“So they showered with you too?” Michael asked when we emerged from my bedroom. 

“Yes, the shower stall in the master bath is quite large and it saves time showering together.  Come on in and I’ll show it to you.”

Michael followed me inside and checked out the shower stall.  “Damn, it is large.  I wasn’t sure how you’d all fit in there until I saw it for myself.” 

“Usually there’s a boy in each of the other bathrooms and one with me so we all finish up at about the same time.” 

“It sounds like it works out quite well.  It reminds me of the group showers we took at school, but I’m not sure if they still do that any longer.” 

“No, that’s pretty much a thing of the past now.  I find it ironic in some ways, however, since the kids don’t mind taking nude selfies or performing naked in videos, but they draw the line at group showers.” 

“Yes, that is a little strange, but I’m glad these boys don’t have a problem doing those things.”

“And I feel the same way.  Do you want me to wake you up in the morning?” 

“No, I’ll just set the alarm on my phone.  What time do you guys usually get up?” 

“I usually wake the boys at 6:00, because we have a lengthy drive to get to school.  Is that too early for you?”

“No, not at all.” 

“Good, then you can eat breakfast with us before you leave.” 

We then said goodnight and went to our respective rooms and turned in.  It had been a long and active day, so I fell asleep quite quickly.

As soon as my alarm went off in the morning, I got up and went to wake up the boys.  I heard Michael moving around in his room as I passed by, so after I was certain each of the boys were up and moving I headed down to the kitchen to fix breakfast.  I was in the middle of getting things ready when the others started coming down the stairs. 

“It smells good,” Michael said about half way down. 

“I hope it is, and I hope you boys put everything back in your backpacks for today.” 

“Yeah, we did,” they all mumbled. 

I asked Jamie and Glen to set the table and Dakota to make some toast, and then a few minutes later I was carrying the food out to the table.  We quickly filled our plates and dug in, and as soon as we finished we rinsed off our dishes and put them in the dishwasher before rushing to quickly brush our teeth before heading out to our vehicles. 

“Michael, thanks for coming and joining us for the holiday weekend.  Have a safe trip back and please keep in touch.” 

“You don’t have to worry about that, because I’d love to see how these three do as they grow and mature.” 

“Yeah, we hope you come back again too,” Glen responded with the other two adding their agreement. 

“Don’t worry, because you’ll definitely see me again.”

Michael then got in his rental car and drove off, and we got in the SUV and took off for school. 

“I liked Michael, but I wish he could have fucked me,” Glen said as we exited the driveway.

“We already discussed that,” I replied.

“And I’m glad that he realized you guys wouldn’t be able to get together as a couple again,” Dakota added. 

“Yes, and I told you he wouldn’t leave his practice in the city to come out here, and I wasn’t about to leave this place.  I love it here.” 

“Yeah, we do too,” Jamie added. 

Once we got to the middle school, the boys went inside and I took off for the high school.  I’d be there for the first part of the day, and then I’d be going to the elementary school after lunch.  I’d finish up the day by driving over to the middle school to pick up the boys so I could take them home. 

There were some students I needed to see at both locations, but it was a fairly easy day.  I also kept thinking about Michael and his visit, and I was thankful that everything had gone so well.  Although I didn’t think it would happen, he could have gone off about the boys running around naked upstairs and claimed it was inappropriate.  He could have also objected about me showering with the boys, but he didn’t do that either.  Instead, he seemed to enjoy what we were doing, and although I didn’t think he was a boy lover, he certainly didn’t object to seeing a lot of young flesh. 

When I picked up the boys and took them home later, they were still talking about the weekend, and while I was fixing dinner my phone rang.  When I looked to see who was calling, I noticed it was Michael so I answered it right away.

“We didn’t do anything extraordinary, just some normal activities that we thought you’d enjoy.” 

“And I did, and I appreciated it.  Take good care of those boys for me, because they are definitely special.” 

“I know, and now you see why I adopted them.” 

“I certainly understand and I wish you all the best.  I also meant it when I said I wanted to come and visit you again, so I’ll try to think of a good time when I can do that.” 

“I know the boys and I all look forward to seeing you again, so just let us know when you’re available.  We’ll make arrangements for you whenever you want.” 

“I appreciate that and tell the boys I said hello and send my best.” 

“I’ll be sure to pass your message along.” 

I told the boys about my conversation with Michael while we were eating dinner, and right away they had some questions for me. 

“When do you think he’ll come here again?” Jamie asked. 

“I’m not sure, but he’ll have to work it around his clients and his job.  Possibly he’ll try to come over another long weekend.” 

“When’s the next one?” Glen followed. 

“The next two long weekends for us would be Columbus Day in October and Veterans Day in November, but I don’t think most businesses take either of those off.  Other than that it would probably be Thanksgiving and Christmas, but we have other plans for those holidays.” 

“Do you mean with Laine and Caleb’s parents?” Dakota asked. 

“Yes, I agreed to go there for Thanksgiving and I invited them here for Christmas.” 

“So when is the next long weekend after that?” Glen pressed. 

“There are a couple of long weekends in January and February as well, but I’m not sure he’ll want to visit then.  Not only will it be cold out, but the driving won’t be as good either.  After that there’s nothing until Memorial Day weekend at the end of May, unless he takes some vacation time before then.”

“Dang, then I guess we won’t be seein’ him again soon,” Dakota mused, 

“No, it’s probably difficult for him to get away, but I’m sure he’ll work something out eventually.” 

“I hope so, cuz I want him to come here again.” Jamie stated. 

“As long as we don’t go camping,” Dakota added sarcastically.  “We heard what you and him did the last time you did that.” 

“Down, boy.  That’s not going to happen,” I said as I shook my head at him. 

“I hope not, but can we do something tonight?” 

“Yeah, it’s been a long time since you’ve sucked my cock,” Jamie whined. 

“I wouldn’t mind a little action either,” Glen chimed in. 

“I suppose I could suck you both off, if you want.” 

“Yeah, and then we can shower with you too,” Jamie added.
