The next week went pretty fast, and it was Saturday already. I had found out that the Summer tenant for my lake cottage would not be moving in till Monday Morning, so I did have some time to drive up and fix the dock. I stopped at HOMO Depot and picked up some supplies for the dock and almost picked up something else but passed on him when he smiled and had rotten front teeth. I needed someone to help me, fix the dock but I wasn't that desperate. Maybe a paper bag...Nahh.! I could probably get one of the boys at the Boat Basin to help me for an hour or two. I got to the cabin and opened it up. The lake is funny in the early summer; it gets hot during the day and supper cool and almost damp during the evening. If you don't shut things up correctly in a lakeside cabin, and air things out at the right time, the place assumes a mildew smell that permeates everything that's upholstered. Oh well! The place was ok; I opened the fridge and found that I needed to get in some weekend provisions. I had been near two grocery stores back home and totally forgotten to purchase anything to eat. So, before I set about to fix the dock I needed to make a trip down to grocery store in the Village. The thing was near the Boat Basin so; maybe I could kill " two stones with the old bird..." I had not been to this store since last summer, the place is run by what looks like 12 year olds. It was a typical local hangout for the kids and everyone that goes there only seems to be buying chips and beer. So, when I swung into the parking lot I was surprised to see that the place had been remodeled and re staffed, they even had good-looking kids out in the lot gathering up stray carts and helping people with the groceries. As, I walked into the place; I locked eyes with a blue-eyed dream that was going out the door with some old Bag's bags. He mimed " Hello" to me as we locked eyes and passed. He was about 5'7 110 lbs, Dirty blond hair, summer tan, slims swimmers build. Dressed in white jeans...tight...maybe a little too tight or tailored... burnt orange short sleeve shirt and sandals. Maybe 17, or even 18. As he passed, I looked around and found that everyone in the store was wearing the same shirt...Oh...he must work here too... I cruised; I mean I shopped around the store for the better part of an hour. Checking out the new local fruit specimens. This was a bumper crop year, I need to remind myself to hang around here more often. I spent time flirting more then anything and putting things I didn't really need in my cart. I did manage to buy a 24 pack of cold Coronas and probably over a hundred dollars worth of stuff. When I was ready to checkout, suddenly the boy that I had seen at the door was bagging my groceries. He smiled and said, "Do you need any help out? ...I need some exercise." "I know you'd probably rather carry the stuff yourself or don't remember where you parked your car and don't want to be embarrassment by us having to walk all over the parking lot to find it, but seriously I'd like to take your groceries to your car if you'll let me!" he continued. "Well I guess I can't refuse, after a speech like that. You must not be from around here...your too intelligent...I said. "No I had my Raisin Brand this morning, I can remember where my car is." I said in a chuckle. "My name is Kevin, What's yours? " I added. "Oh you can call me Chip," he said as he gave me a white gleaming teeth grin. "Ok Chip well my car is over here, the White Jeep." I purposely let him lead so that I could follow behind and admire the view. Those perfect round globes held firmly in those tight ass white jeans. Oh thank god, baggy "no ass at all" jeans are So Out of Style. Unfortunately the trip was a bit too short. He stopped at my car, turned around, smiled watching me walk up to the car and waited till I unlocked the back door. You want everything back here? You sure you don't want these cold ones up front with you? " He asked as he began to unload the cart into the back of the car. He finished loading the last of the bags and turned to me. "Well that about does it. Thanks for the walk. Anything else I can do for you Kevin?" You could tell the kid was killing time. Well, Yeah sure!" I hesitated then said...when do you get off?" He turned completely around and began in an animated manner. "Well let's see; I've already got off this morning, before I started to get ready for work" "And then there was the quickie in the restroom during lunch break...and now after helping you...I'd think I need to go back to the restroom and..." he added. "Ok Wise guy! ...Ok! When do you stop working today?" "What are you doing later? After work?" I asked almost laughing at his quick whit. " Oh..So you're hitting on me!" he turned and said in what I thought was all seriousness " Hmmmmm How nice! .... Well let's see I am off in about five hours!" "Doing tonight?" "Nothing! ..." "In fact off, I mean I get!" "No!" "I mean I am off from work all day tomorrow till 4:00" " If you're asking me out... I would love to!" "...Hang out or what ever...! " " Give me your number or just pick me up here at 9:10. " "What did you have in mind? " he said eagerly. "Ooohhhh slow down...I was just thinking of "catchin" a movie and maybe go for a pizza after. He stopped and stared, you could almost tell tears were beginning to form in those beautify blue eyes , he appeared speechless then he forced a smile and said. "Hey, I'd like that...! "That's a change from what I've been used too!" "Yes! I would really like that...you have a date...MR ahhhhh Kevin." He turned and walked back towards the store. As he got to the door he turned as if to see if I were still there, he wiped his eye with his left sleeve and gave a half wave and went back into the store. I got in the car and pulled out of the lot. More happy and content then I had been then I had entered the lot more then an hour ago. To Be Continued...
