Miguel Sanchez The Pilot III Shane and Robert's Life Chapter 20 Everyone all enjoyed the surprise dinner I tossed together for the teens. We spent the rest of the night talking and having a great time. By 11, the trio was having a hard time staying awake so Bill, John and Joey headed home. They all kissed the teens good night and told them once more how happy they were for them. The adults were all tired too so we secured the house and called it a night. The three teens undressed each other then Aaron said, "Please don't ever think we don't love you because of what happened." The teens were standing naked before one another and Jake started crying. "I just didn't know what to think or what other's thought of me," he said through his tears. Jeremy said, "We know it wasn't your fault." "That's right," Aaron said in agreement. "They were supposed to always love and protect you. But now you have lots of people that will." "Can I ask you something?" Jake said. "Anything," Jeremy said. "I sense there is something more going on with you and your Dads," Jake asked. The twins looked at each other and said, "Do you promise never to say anything to anyone?" "I promise," he said kissing each twin. "We do love our Dads," Jeremy said. "As you know, we never had lovers other than each other and we knew there had to be more than what we just felt for each other." "So you and your Dad's have made love?" Jake asked. "Not totally," Aaron said. "They haven't to us yet." "Is that because of them wanting to adopt you?" he asked. "Yes," Jeremy said. "We can't even do that with each other until after it's final. They don't want anything to mess it up and neither do we." "Wow," Jake said. "That is special. They didn't mind us becoming boyfriends?" "No," Aaron said. "I could tell when we came out that they were really happy for us." "Will you be in court Monday?" Jake asked. "Un-un," Jeremy said. "We can't look at the man that hurt you like that. We're sorry." Jake hugged them and said, "It's alright. I wouldn't be there unless I had to." The boys got into bed and cuddled together as Aaron said, "I hope it's a short trial so you don't have to be there any longer than you have to." Jake yawned as he said, "I hope it only lasts 2 minutes." The twins giggled, "I think it will be a little longer than that." They all hugged and kissed each other then drifted off to sleep. Down in my room Robert kissed me and said, "This was something I didn't expect to have happen today?" "What's that love?" I said. "You mean the twins falling in love?" "Yeah," he said as he caressed my chest. "It didn't take long for me to fall in love with you, if I remember right," I said. "You took advantage of me," he said. "I was delirious." "Hehehe," I said snickering. "Then why was your dick hard?" "I dunno," he said. "It's always had a mind of its own." "You sorry you fell in love with me then?" I asked. He rolled me over and kissed me, "Never love." I held him then started feeling very sleepy. I kissed him softly then said, "I'm so glad we found you that day baby. I love you. Sleep well darling." He kissed me back, "I love you too love. Sweet dreams." The next thing I remember was Robert sliding out heading to the bathroom. He left the door open and I as soon as I heard him peeing, I had to also. I joined him at the toilet for a little sword fighting. We grabbed our boxers and put them on and headed out to the kitchen. The first thing I noticed were three sets of bare buns standing at the counter. I giggled and said, "It looks like the twins' dress habits have rubbed off on you Jake. Jake smiled and said, "At least we won't get our clothes dirty if we spill anything on them." Robert laughed, "Now if you do, you can get them to lick you clean." I blushed a little then said, "How come you never did that for me?" Robert was about to try to get out of that when Dad said, "Hi guys. The twins are at it again, I see." The three teens rushed over to hug Dad and Jeremy said, "Would we do that, Granddad?" "Yeah, you would," Dad said laughing. Jake looked up at Dad and asked, "Can I call you Granddad too?" "Of course you can," Dad said hugging Jake. "That's what Joey calls me." Dad fixed a cup of coffee, "How would you guys like a nice breakfast?" The twins knew what Dad was talking about so they said, "Yeah Granddad." Dad went into the icebox and got out the bacon and eggs then I went into the freezer for the microwave sausage. Jake's eyes got big and said, "Wow, that's gonna be a feast." "Not a feast," I said. "It's just enough to hold three teens for a couple of hours.' I did the sausage and bacon while Dad scrambled the eggs. Once everything was done, everyone dug in and enjoyed Dad's breakfast. The teens cleaned up the kitchen and then went for a bike ride until Jake had to head home. When it was time, I could see all three getting sad. I walked over and put my arms around them and said, "You guys live close enough that you will see each other all the time. Here is something to remember and that is absence makes the heart grow fonder." Robert then said, "Jake, you should be at Castle very soon, too." We soon had the boys smiling as Jake was hugging everyone good bye. After he left I remembered that I had to appear in court and I needed to get my dress uniform ready. I worked on that then the twins asked what was for supper. I didn't feel like cooking and I could tell Dad didn't either so I looked at the twins and said, "How about the Colonel?" Before the twins could speak Robert said, "Now that sounds good." I took the twins with me so they could hold the food. Robert said he would set the table, which I knew would consist of paper plates and plastic utensils. When I arrived, I pulled up to the drive through and placed my order. I told the girl I wanted a 20 piece barrel of chicken, original recipe; 2 large mashed potatoes with gravy; macaroni and cheese and 5 ears of corn. I paid the bill then headed home while trying to keep the boys out of the food. After dinner there were just a couple of drumsticks left and a few biscuits. The boys put the food away and the dishes were trashed. Dad was looking at the programs for the evening then said, "There is a good movie on so why don't you guys get cleaned up and we can all watch it together." I thought that was a great idea and so did the twins but our shower partners got changed this time. Jeremy grabbed my hand and led me down the hall to their shower and said, "I love you Dad, I hope you don't mind." "I don't mind at all son," I said. "I was just surprised, that's all." We went into the bathroom as Jeremy turned on the shower. He turned around and I slipped his shorts and briefs down in one pull. He did the same to me then we got in the shower. We stood under the water getting wet then we washed each other's hair. After we rinsed our hair I lathered Jeremy's chest and back then slid down and did his legs. I got him under the water and rinsed the soap off him then he washed my chest, back and legs. After I was rinsed, he soaped his hands and started washing my groin. He looked at me as if looking for permission and I just smiled. He reached behind me and washed my butt then slid his fingers inside my crack. He had one hand working my dick and his other fingering my hole. It had been a few days since I last came so my balls were telling the end was near. I felt him hit my prostate then I shuddered as my dick started erupting. I shot over Jeremy's chest then I had to grab the towel bar. Jeremy leaned in and said, "I love you Dad. I hope you enjoyed that." I smiled and said, "I enjoy anything you do." I lathered my hands and washed Jeremy's dick and balls then started stroking his tool. I slid the foreskin back and ran the fingers over the head then ran the fingers of my other hand inside against his hole. I kept my fingers going over the head and soon Jeremy was shooting his cum down the drain. I rinsed him off and held him against my chest as he came back to earth. I kissed his cheek and said, "Enjoy that son?" He kissed me and said, "Always." We stepped out and got ourselves dried then we went out and watched the movie. Jeremy looked at Aaron as they saw each other and all he did was smile telling Jeremy all he needed. After the movie was over we headed for bed because everyone was going to have a big day tomorrow. I was up with Robert and had my morning talk with Jeremy. Aaron came out and I got them breakfast while Robert had his coffee. At 7 Robert and the twins were out the door and Dad came out of his room from getting his shower. We sat and talked until I had to get shaved then into my uniform. At 8:15 we were out the door heading to the county courthouse. It took about 30 minutes to get there and find a place to park then we had to find the courtroom. We walked inside then went through security and went to find Christine. We went down the hall and started passing courtrooms when we heard Jake and John's voice behind us. Dad and I stopped and waited for them when Dad said, "Do you know what courtroom?" Christine came out the courtroom and started walking up to us saying, "Down here guys." We turned around and followed her into the courtroom and I felt Jake's hand slip into mine. I gave it a little squeeze and asked, "How are you doing son?" "A little nervous but OK," he said. Dad looked at Christine and asked, "How are you going to go after him?" She just looked at him and said, "I'm going to give him just enough rope." I wasn't sure what she meant by that then she said, "Jake and Shane I need you to come with me. Witnesses can't be in the courtroom until after they have testified. I'm going to bring you to the witness room." Christine headed for the door when Linda came in. "Sorry I'm late," she said. Christine took to us to the witness room then had to hurry back to the courtroom. As she was coming out, Tony Alvarez was standing there looking lost. She pointed to the witness room then hurried back inside the courtroom. Tony went inside and saw Shane and Jake sitting there. "Hi guys," he says. "Remember me Jake?" "Uh, not really Sir," Jake replies looking at the paramedic. "Tony was my partner the day we found you," Shane says. Back in the courtroom, Christine went over to the prosecution table as Dad and John took a seat in the gallery just as Kent Harris arrived and sat at the defense table. A door opened and a sheriff's deputy brought Timothy Curtis into the courtroom and led him over to the defense table. He was about to sit down when a voice said, "All rise, this court is now is session, the Honorable Judge Calvin Henry presiding." Judge Henry came in and took his seat on the bench then said, "Be seated. Will you read the first case on the docket this morning?" The clerk said, "Your Honor, this case is the State of Florida versus Timothy Curtis. The charges are child endangerment and child abandonment." "Thank you," the judge said. "Is the State ready to proceed?" "Christine Mellon for the State, Your Honor," she said. "We're ready to proceed." "Is the defense ready?" The Judge asked. "We are Your Honor," he said standing. "Kent Harris for the defense." "Thank you," the judge said. "Does the state wish to make an opening statement?" Christine stood and said, "Yes we do Your Honor. The state will prove with Mr. Curtis did willfully and maliciously put his son out of his house approximately 36 hours before the arrival of a major hurricane thus neglecting him and abandoning him. The defendant has claimed all this time that the child was not his and therefore he is not guilty of the charges. We intend to prove that the child in question is in deed his." "Thank you Ms. Mellon," the Judge said. "Does the defense wish to make an opening statement?" "Yes Your Honor," Mr. Harris said. "The State has no case here. When you hear their evidence you will see this and find my client not guilty." "Thank you Mr. Harris," the judge said. "Ms. Mellon you may call your first witness." "The state calls Ms. Linda Eggleston," she said. The door to the courtroom opened and Linda Eggleston walked to the front of the room. She went through the gate in the rail and the clerk swore her in. She took her seat in the witness box then Christine stood and said, "Would you please state your name and occupation for the court." Linda said, "My name is Linda Eggleston and I am the Director of the Department of Children's and Family Services." "How did you get involved with this case?" Christine asked. Linda took a deep breath and said, "I received a call from Paramedic Shane Taylor informing me that they had brought a child to the Emergency Room at Children's Hospital suffering from exposure. He stated that the child told him that his father had put him out of his house." "Were you given the child's name at that time?" Christine asked. "Yes," Linda said. "He said the child's name was Jake Curtis." "Christine then asked, "What did you do then?" "I went to Children's to interview the child." Linda said. "What happened during that interview?" She said, "Shane met me in the waiting room then took me back to the room where a boy was resting. I went in and introduced myself to the boy. He told me his name was Jake Curtis. I asked him where he lived and he said he didn't have a home any more. I asked him why and he said his father put him out. I then asked him where he lived before he was put out and he gave me his home address and phone number. I then asked him why his father put out and he started getting upset so I terminated the interview." Did the child give you the names of his parents?" Christine asked. "Yes he did," Linda stated. "He said their names were Maria and Timothy Curtis?" "That's a lie," Curtis said jumping up out of his seat. The Judge banged his gavel and said, "Order, Mr. Harris control you client." "Yes Your Honor," Mr. Harris said as he turned and talked to the defendant. "You can't interrupt like that. If you keep doing that, the judge will remove you." When the courtroom was quiet, Christine asked, "What did you do then," Linda said, "Based on the information given me by the boy, I felt he was a child in need of our services so I made arrangements for him to be placed into a foster home." "What did you do then?" Christine asked. "I contacted one of my foster families to see if they could take the child," Linda said. "They agreed so I waited at the hospital until they arrived. I did the necessary paperwork and introduced the parents to the child. The doctor said the boy was stable and could go home so the child left with his foster parents." "What did you do then?" Christine asked. "I returned to the office and finished some paperwork," Linda said. "It was late and the phones in the office were out so I called it a day." "Did you try to contact the boy's parents?" Christine asked. "Yes I did," she said. "It took a couple of days but I did call the number the boy gave me." "What happened when you called?" She asked Linda. "A woman answered the phone and I told her who I was," Linda started saying. "I then told her I was calling about her son Jake. She told me she didn't know what I was talking about. Then her husband came on the phone and told me the same thing then he denied having a child and hung up on me." "What did you do then?" Christine asked. "I tried to ascertain if they were in deed the parents of the child," Linda replied. "How did you do that?" Christine asked. "By trying to locate a copy of his birth certificate," Linda said. "Were you able to find it?" Christine asked. "Yes I was," Linda answered. "I was able to get his school records from the school administration building. In those records there is a copy of his birth certificate which was presented at the time his parents registered the child for school." "What does the birth certificate say?" Christine asked. "It stated that Timothy and Maria Curtis are the parents of Jake Curtis," Linda said. "Do you have the birth certificate with you?" Christine asked. "Yes I do," Linda said as she opened Jakes school records and took it out of the file. "I have his school records with me. Here it is." Christine took the birth certificate from Linda and said, "At this time Your Honor we would like to submit this birth certificate into evidence." "Objection," Mr. Harris said. "The prosecution never shared this information with the defense." "Side bar, Your Honor," Christine said. Judge Henry motioned the lawyers to the bench. Talking in a low voice Christine said, "Your Honor, this was what I was afraid of. Mr. Harris never contacted my office for a discovery meeting. I gave him more than ample time. Besides, he could have easily subpoenaed the boy's school records and he would have seen the birth certificate." The judge looked at Mr. Harris and said, "She's right counselor." "Your Honor," Mr. Harris said, "My client maintained he didn't have a child." "Did he ever give you anything to corroborate his allegations?" Judge Henry asked. "No Your Honor," Mr. Harris said. "You better remember what I said during our meeting," Judge Henry reminded Mr. Harris. "Now step back." The lawyers went back to their tables as the Judge said, "Mr. Harris, your objection is over ruled. The birth certificate will be accepted into evidence and marked as State's 1. You may continue, Ms. Mellon." "What else is in the file," Christine asked. The initial registration form when Jake was registered when he entered first grade lists Timothy and Maria Curtis as his parents and is signed by Maria Curtis," Linda said removing that paper from the file. "It's not me," the defendant said jumping up again. The judge banged his gavel and said, "Order, Mr. Curtis I warned you." "It's not me judge," Curtis said again. "Mr. Curtis," Judge Henry started saying. "If this isn't you on these forms, you can take the stand and refute them." "Fine," he said. "Put me on the stand. I'll refute that stuff alright." Mr. Harris looked at his client and said, "I really don't recommend that." Curtis was acting very cocky then he said, "I don't care what you recommend, put me on the stand." Christine now knew that Curtis would take the stand and Jake and Shane wouldn't need to testify. She didn't want Jake in the courtroom because he didn't know exactly what he would say. But very shortly, she was going to find out. To be continued
