Police and fire teams arrive and begin working the scene. An officer bags the rock and note after thanking Roger for using gloves to avoid damaging the evidence. Each of us was interviewed about our memories of tonight's event. When reminded of the dead raccoon and the hate attack, they begin to link the three cases. None of us can figure out who to whom the note was written. Xavier has been the one targeted in a hate crime so we assume it was meant for him but who sent it is a mystery. The lead detective assures us that a car will be stationed in front of the house and we will be given escorts when outside the residence. As the fire is extinguished, investigators find evidence of a small detonation device that was timed to go off. It appears that this fire was a bomb meant to explode at a later time in order to injure one or more of us when we were in the garden near the structure. For the rest of the night, we are taken to a hotel under police protection until the search for clues is complete. Nobody again notices the strange vehicle parked at the opposite end of the block with the dark figure watching the entire course of events. THE RUNAWAY & THE DRAG QUEEN: CHAPTER TWELVE (12) GLENN These attacks have to stop soon or I may do something drastic. It is painfully clear that someone is targeting my boyfriend and his loved ones in an effort to scare him. What he has done or is thought to have done we aren't sure. Somebody decided that he is a threat to them and wants to remove him. Roger and I talked for a couple of hours after we were escorted to the hotel by police. The officers were investigating the bombing of the gazebo so it was not safe for us to stay there. The two of us had moved in to be certain that our lovers were secure but it hadn't seemed to help so far. My favorite "uncle" knew people who could help but I had to be extra careful. He has a reputation for being involved with questionable individual so the police watched him closely. Somehow I planned to ask him for his assistance and knew he would do it. His only son had been killed by a jealous ex-boyfriend of the man he was dating. My "uncle" became a silent advocate for equality and justice for all people, regardless of age, sex, race, sexual orientation and religion. It only meant I had to be clever when trying to meet with him. Meanwhile, Xavier was a complete basket case after seeing the brand-new gazebo destroyed. It had been a dream of his to have a little rose garden and a cool place to rest. We had seen a picture of a formal planting in the shadow of the great palaces of Europe. I know he missed the small row of roses he had tended for his grandparents so I talked with Jeff and Roger to set this area up. My mother was horrified when I called to let her know where to find us. Promising to put her name on the secure visitor's list, I assured her that nobody was hurt. She told me she would visit us tomorrow and then went back to work. I took Xavier into the bathroom for a relaxing soak in the spa tub before guiding him to bed. In just our boxer-briefs, we crawled under a light sheet and put on the movie "Somewhere In Time," with Christopher Reeves and Jayne Seymour. It was one of my favorite films but Xavier had never seen the movie. He cried and held me close as we drifted off to sleep. XAVIER I woke after short rest not knowing where I was. The strange surroundings terrified me until I felt Glenn's arms pull me even closer. Feeling safe, I settled back into the warm embrace and fell asleep once more. My dreams were filled with fire and loud noises along with rose petals flying in all directions. I was running from pieces of wood, flaming bushes, and broken paving stones that were literally everywhere. Seeing a doorway in the distance, I ran as fast as I could to reach it, sweating and panting from fear and exhaustion. Just as I got to bottom of the steps, the door exploded in a multicolored flash of flame and flower petals. From the center of the conflagration, I saw everyone I loved come running out engulfed in fire and screaming in agony. That was the instant when I sat up yelling and flailing at the debris headed towards my face. Glenn grabbed my arms and pulled me close until he could calm me down. Through my tears, I saw Jeff and Roger come rushing in from the other bedroom. They all looked at me with such concern and worry that I didn't know what to do. Once I stopped crying hysterically, I was able to tell them what I had dreamt. Everyone hugged me until I forgot that it was only a dream. Ordering breakfast from room service, we ate in the main sitting area as we talked about our plans for the day. Just as I finished, the officer at our door knocked and told me that a man by the name of Isaac Xavier was waiting to speak to me. I had forgotten that we were supposed to meet today and told him to give me ten minutes. Glenn helped me get dressed and the three men wanted to leave when I begged them to stay. Sitting in one of the large armchairs, they sat on a small table playing cards while Isaac was ushered into the room. As he came forward, I introduced the three individuals sitting behind me and offered him a seat. He looked at them until I indicated that they were there for my moral support. Relaxing a little bit, my grandfather began by saying that he and Rachel had been wrong to treat me the way they did. Both had been taught that homosexuality was an abomination and made to see everyone as ill and in need of treatment. Recently, Rachel had discovered that her two brothers had been in a secret relationship for years. She believed they were merely unsuccessful at finding the perfect mates. Apparently, the last one had just passed away and she had been left everything included a diary talking about their loving relationship. Realizing that they had been unable to share their love with their only sibling, Rachel changed and became an advocate for equality. They even changed churches in an effort to reach people they previously would have picketed or attempted to change, When she had been diagnosed with cancer, they began trying to find me only to make amends since they knew they had signed away their legal rights to me. It had taken the better part of 18 months because they had no idea from where the lawyer that contacted them had been dispatched. Not knowing if she would survive until I was found, a video message had been prepared but she was still fighting in a local cancer hospital. Crying as I spoke, Glenn walked over and I asked my three family members for their opinions. Each of them expressed the thought that I would feel guilty and cheated if I didn't make an attempt to reconcile with her. Calling the officer in, I asked if we could arrange for a special trip to see her at the hospital. He understood and promised to make the arrangement immediately so I wouldn't miss my last chance. Fifteen minutes later, we were escorted to a secure limo for the short ride to where my grandmother was being treated. Isaac chatted with Glenn especially to make sure that he was really in love with me. Convinced that we were a real couple, he then thanked Jeff for helping me when they felt they couldn't. Jeff cried as this man admitted how stupid both my grandparents had behaved and how ashamed they felt. Pulling in front of the hospital, the two officers acted as bodyguards leading us to her room., Isaac entered first to prepare her for the visit. Stepping out, I was left there to talk in private. Rachel began by apologizing for everything that she had done with regards to my sexual orientation. As she talked about her brothers, tears rolled down her face and she squeezed my hand tenderly. We chatted about so many things that had happened since I ran from their home. Mentioning that she heard about my relationship, she asked to meet Glenn. I brought him into the room and she asked him very similar questions as Isaac to check his suitability for me. He impressed her with his honesty and his passion particularly as he talked about the troubles I had experienced recently. Knowing that I was in a loving partnership seemed to make her very happy. Jeff and Roger were the next to meet her since she felt a need to thank Jeff for saving me from a horrible life in the streets. Rachel took full responsibility for my leaving the house and promised that it would not have happened had she understood the way our love worked. Her brothers had been faithful since they were children and cared for each other through sickness and health. She expressed her regret and hope that we could try to build a better future for the remainder of her available time. I promised to visit as often as I could manage before I sensed she was becoming over-tired. Before I left, she handed me a small box and envelope but told me not to open it until after her funeral. Promising with tears in my eyes, I returned to my hotel with my family. Dinner was in our room with Suzanne and Charles joining us to make sure we were all safe and unharmed. We chatted about my visit with my grandmother and how she felt when the officer admitted the lead detective. Wes Hollister had been on our case since my first attack and was working overtime to solve these incidents. He had lost his own love to a serial killer who targeted musicians out of resentment against his former boyfriend cheating on him. Even though the maniac had been caught, convicted, and executed, Wes still hadn't found any peace or a new partner since that day. Spending almost six months in a hospital for depression, he needed to help us to relieve his own anguish. Today he showed up with a young officer named Andre Mastern. He was a second year officer who was studying to become a detective. From the interaction between the two men, I suspected that each had secret feelings for the other. I certainly noticed how Wes beamed as Andre conducted himself during our interview and with his display of compassion. We talked about the latest evidence and they revealed that DNA had been recovered from a small streak of blood on the note attached to rock. It appeared that whoever threw it had gotten a small paper cut and bled without realizing it. The major problem was the sample wasn't a match to anyone in the local or national data bases. Once again they asked if we had any ideas as to who might be doing these things but none of us had a single person in mind. Suddenly, Glenn mentioned that before the last two incidents he had seen a dark blue, two-door vehicle parked just down the block from the house. He had not mentioned it previously because he had been too concerned with my safety. Thanking him for the information, Wes and Andre left us to finish our evening. WESLEY Xavier was such a cute young man and reminded me of my late partner, Mitchell Dante. Watching the way his young love, Glenn, watched over him was refreshing in this day where people don't seem to stick with a relationship when it gets difficult. The family had been targeted by a maniac who had a personal vendetta against Xavier but we could not seem to discover who it was or why they were doing it. As we talked about the incidents, the two men were never more that a few inches apart. Jeff, who was the uncle, and his partner, Roger, looked in protectively demonstrating the strength of their family bond. All four gentlemen had been very straightforward and honest when questioned but had no idea who or why they were targeted. Finishing my discussion, I left with my temporary partner, Andre. He was a nice young African-American officer who had been on the force for two years. During that short time, he had distinguished himself and was actually studying to become a detective. I found him extremely attractive but was shielding my emotions since workplace romances, especially in our line of work, rarely succeeded. I sensed that he felt the same way about me but I couldn't risk exposing my heart to more sorrow. ANDRE I was nervous when I first met Detective Hollister. Everyone in the department knew of his horrific past and the heartbreak he had suffered. No one other than my family knew that I was gay and the last thing I needed was to be outed before I was ready. As we were introduced and informed that we would become temporary partners pending a formal review, I felt that he was downright disgusted with the idea of being forced to work with anyone at all. He did apologize for being rude when we first met but explained that he believed that he operated better alone. I somewhat understood since his looks tended to be distracting for me. At 6 feet 5 inches with sandy blonde hair and hazel eyes, he was everything I dreamed of in a potential boyfriend, even though some thought his too old at age 37. Being only 25, I had not had any serious sexual experience other than an occasional circle-jerk with other boys at summer camp. Being a virtual virgin, I was unsure of how or even whether to approach him about the feeling I was experiencing. The longer we were around each other, the more difficult it was becoming. I needed to either say something to him or ask for a different partner. ANONYMOUS MALE The police are bothering me as I try to deal with that little trollop Xavier and his uncle Jeff. Just because of my little explosive device, they spirited off the entire foursome to a location where I can't reach them. Because the police used several decoy vehicles to move everyone, I ended up following the wrong one and lost track of where they were taken. My confidential contact within the department couldn't even tell me since apparently only four people knew the exact location. The reason for the heightened security had to do with the number and severity of the incidents they had experienced. This is another example of why I need to get rid of Xavier once and forever more. It was the only solution that would allow me to comfort and finally claim Glenn as my true love. XAVIER Glenn and I had finally managed to find some time to be alone in our bedroom. It had been very stressful the last few days dealing with my grandmother, the violent attacks, and the stresses of school. As we entered the room, some soft music was put on featuring "Forever Love" by Reba McEntire among other love songs. Taking me in his strong, loving arms, we danced slowly expressing our feelings without speaking a single word. As the evening progressed, we worked our way over to the bed and slowly undressed each other until we fell atop the mattress. It felt so right with our naked flesh pressing against one another as we kissed and stroked each other. Rolling Glenn on his back, I began moving down his body using my lips and tongue to drive him wild with anticipation. As I reached his strong dick, he was gripping the sheets with his breath getting shorter and faster. I teased his even more by nuzzling his nuts and licking them with my warm, wet tongue until I thought he would jump off the bed. Staring at the thick base, my lips slowly inched their way to the dripping knob and the engulfed it in one sudden motion. Glenn's toes curled and he elicited a loud moan as I reached the bottom. Sucking as intensely as a vacuum, I wanted to make absolutely certain that he knew how much I cared for him and wanted to please him. I kept up my assault ignoring his protests as he squirmed underneath me. Find just the right spot near ridge of his head, I felt him shudder and shake as his testicles started to draw up close to his body. Knowing this was the signal that his climax was near, I simply sucked harder until I felt him shoot his sweet load down my throat. TO BE CONTINUED...
