THE VANDERKILL LEGACY By Ted Macklin chapter 7 Harry hoped that everything was all right on the farm as the train clickedy-clacked along the track towards Albany. He was sure though that if there were any problems he would have received a telegram. He had bis plans for the small town that had meant so much to his early childhood. He planned to buy into the small old run down hotel and refurbish it completely. He would offer it as a comfortable and convenient stop over for travelers on the way to and from Niagara Falls and the West. They could turn it into a winter fun place and a summer resort. He would set up stables for training horses for the races at Ticonderoga. He would spend the summers there with his family. The future which looked so bleak just a week ago now looked Rosy indeed. He looked over at the sofa on the other side of his private car on the train and saw young Patrick fast asleep. He was sure that Ronny would enjoy the surprise. He and Ronny would have to avoid anything that even appeared sexual while Patrick was there but it would be worth it. Ronny and Patrick had always been good friends. Harry had plans for Patrick too. Again nothing sexual of course. Patrick had a good head for figures and after school he would be an excellent choice to handle the finances of the Vanderkill Empire. Now that he had three sons and a nephew to take care of he would want to see that the "empire" continued- just not in the brutal fashion of his forebears. James, who had gone to the front of the train to check on things reappeared looking, as usual, as neat as a pin. "I beg your pardon, sir, but we are just about at Albany. A Connecting engine is waiting as you request so we can move right on. Luncheon from Almalgos will be sent on board so that we won't have to stop. Should I wake up Master Patrick now?" "That would be good James. I am sure that he is getting hungry. I can almost hear his stomach growling. " Soon it was hard to tell which Patrick was more excited about, the tasty food or the passing scenery- or as Harry suspected- spending time on the farm with Ronny. Harry could hardly wait to see Ronny's face when he showed up with Patrick in tow. An hour late they were pulling into the country station. Patrick's face was glued to the window. As they climbed off the train the old proprietor of the hotel came out to greet them. Harry made arrangements for everyone from the farm to come to the hotel to celebrate the New Year. Then he told the delighted old man that he had plans for the town and the hotel. He told him not to worry. No one would be put out of business. He would reveal more details after the New Year. "In the mean time let's all get ready to celebrate." Then he, James and Patrick got into the waiting buggy and were off to the farm. As they neared the spread it became apparent that work had been going on.The main house had been painted and the back two houses were being repaired. The boys were in the field with the horse which was being drilled by Tommy. As soon as Ronny saw the buggy he was on the run followed soon by Danny and Sammy. Patrick was jumping out of the buggy before it came to a stop. After nearly falling down he righted himself and was off! As they came together they stopped, smiled and shook hands. "Patrick, Daddy brought you with him! That's great. How do you like our farm? Come, let me show you or horse That's Tommy training him. Tommy's mother is a friend of my fathers.' Talking on and on he led Patrick over to the coral to show him the horse. "We call him Thunder because he makes so much noise. Tommy says that he is a good horse and can win races but I don't know. Tommy says that Thunder is too busy making noise to listen right now because he is scared. Our first job he says is to calm him down- so don't make any sudden moves." Harry and James headed for the house. Betsy was waiting for them at the door. "Should you be up and about?" asked james. "I'm fine, thanks to you. How was your trip?" "Everything went about as expected. You notice I brought an extra along. The boy is Patrick. He is Ronny's best friend and I thought that it would be a nice surprise for Ronny and a good vacation for Patrick who has never been out of the city. His mother works for me and his father has been out of work since injuring himself on his job.I have great plans for the father and the son. They are good people. So tell me, has my wild brood behaved themselves while I was away?' "Oh, yes, they were very good. They,ve been eating old Sally out of house and home- Tommy too, I am afraid. Look, Harry I don't know how to thank you for what you have done for us. We would both probably be dead bu now if you hadn't come along." "That's what friends are for. I'm only sorry that I was away for so long but I couldn't do anything about it. My Father an I had a rift and cut me off and banned me from his property. It has been rough for all of us. Did they show you the little house in the back.? That's for you and Tommy. I want you to run this house for me. You'll be in charge of the staff. Tommy can train the horse for me. In exchange Tommy owns 50% interest in the horse. We will run him in the races in the spring and see how we do." "I don't know what to say," Betsy replied. "It all seems to be so much. They call the horse "Thunder" by the way. If you go near him you will know why." That night after the boys were in bed Harry read by candle light for a while. Then he made his way up to his room. As expected he saw a lump under his blankets. His boy was waiting for him. Harry got undressed, put on his night shirt and climbed into bed. He put his arms around Ronny and drew him close. "I've been waiting for you. I missed you. You're not going away again are you?' Harry kissed Ronny on his cheek and said" The next time I go, you, your brothers and Patrick will be going with me. Right after the new year. You boys will have to be going to school." "What about Tommy? Can he come too?" "Tommy will have to stay here with his mother and take care of Thunder. You'll see him when we come back in the Spring for the races.' "Oh." said Ronny. "in that case you have to love me extra special tonight." "I always love you extra special." Harry replied. "You are extra special." Then Harry pulled up Tommy's night shirt and began kissing the boy's stomach. Then he moved up to Ronny's nipples, slurping them with his tongue. Next he moved down to the boy's pubic are kissing his way to the hairless, erect young penis. He took the boy's young member into his mouth, pumping up and down while Ronny made strange noises. After a while Harry took his mouth off the boy's organ, stuck a finger in his mouth and whetted it good. Picking up the boy's legs he kissed his rear end, sticking his tongue in the boy's hole and wetting it good. After stretching the hole with his wet finger he lined himself up and pushed his own erect penis into the hole. Soon he was pumping away and Ronny was moaning in Ecstasy. The both seemed to climax at the same time collapsing into each other. The kissed a passionate kiss. Then they both said" I love you." and fell asleep in each others arms. When harry woke up in the morning Ronny was gone. He heard the sounds of children playing in the yard and knew that all was well. After breakfast Tommy took the other boys on a tour of the area. He led them down a path through the woods to the nearly frozen stream. "In the summer we can swim here. You can dive off those rocks. It's really neat. If it freezes more and we had skate we could go ice skating but there isn't enough ice yet." "Well we are going to have to go back to the city right after the New Year any way. We have to go to school and my father has to take care of business. We wish you could go with us but you and your mother will have to stay here and take care of things. You have to train "Thunder" to beat Mr. Henderson's horses in the Spring. We'll be back for that for sure." Back at the house old Sally was asking about what preparations she should be making for New Year's Eve. Harry told he not to worry about it. "I have is all taken care of. We are going to celebrate at the hotel. Everyone is coming- including you Sally Farnsworth. In fact I am inviting the whole town and I am going to make an announcement that I am sure will have everyone excited. I am even going to invite Mr. Henderson- but he probably won't show up" He was right. Everyone showed up but Mr. Henderson. That old grump of a miser remained home sulking. His one bright thought was of the coming of Spring when his horses would be beating all the other horses and he would be raking in the prize money and the money from all the betting. He would have to spread some false rumors that his next horse was lame to increase the betting odds. He was sure that he was going to rake it in. He hoped that fool Vanderkill would enter that stupid horse he palmed off on him. That would sure be a laugh and old man Henderson had not laughed in years. Meanwhile the party was going on at the hotel. At 11:30 Harry Vanderkill stood up and tapped his glass for silence. All eyes were on him. "My boys and I are happy to be here. We feel that this is our home. I plan to resurrect this town. I want to rename it and I am open to suggestions. I want to see the Town store restocked and thriving. This hotel is to be rebuilt. Trains will ne stopping here on a regular basis dropping off passenger on their way west or to Niagara Falls. We hope that many will want to spend the night in comfort here before they continue on. We hope that city folk will want to come here to relax and swim in the lake and the stream this summer. So here is my New Year's Eve toast. To all of you and to our town. May we all prosper for the New Year." At that moment the bell in the town church tower struck in the New Year. In the Vanderkill barn a lone horse was raising his own ruckus- but Thunder would not be alone for long. Soon other horses would be joining him. Some would be race horse- trotters like himself. Others would be work horses brought in to work the farm. and some would be gentle horses for the boys to ride. But no one would ride on Thunder. NO Sir! He was a racing horse- a trotting horse. No self respecting gentleman would go to a race where riders actually sat astride the animal. That was unthinkable!
