SO thats what I will be doing from now on. If you care thats where it is Donate to those nifty people at Nifty Transitions Daily Life Chapter 3 From the odd mind of Eric Murphey Eric finishes his "homework" and approves the business plan that was sent to him and hears the doorbell ring. He glances at the clock in the corner of the screen and its exactly 6. Trans friend is punctual that's a plus for him as far as Eric is concerned. He gets up to get the door and sees Alejandro sleeping on the floor with Buddy in his arms. He looks so adorable Eric has to stop and take a few pictures of him. He is dressed in a t-shirt jeans and barefooted. His little feet poking out of his jeans. Eric snaps a few quick shots and heads to the door and the bell rings again. He opens the door as the tone stops. There standing before him is a boy of he guesses 14 who is blond with blue eyes and rail thin. But he is very cute and can see why Tran is attracted to him. "Welcome to our home. I will take you up to Trans room he has been expecting you." "Thank you Mr Murphey." "Just Eric is fine." "Not according to my dad. He would box my ears if I called a grown up by their first name." "Well, I don't want any ear boxing happening on my account." Eric says chuckling the boy smiling at his dad humor. He turns and the boy follows him upstairs and they go to Trans room and Eric lightly knocks and opens the door. Tran isn't there. "He must be in his office." Eric says. "He has an office?" "I thought his room was too small to put a desk and things like that in there. So we had a spare bedroom and he has it for his office." "This place is massive. How many rooms does it have?" "I will let Tran tell you all about it, and give a tour if you want as well." Eric says and walks down to one of the bedrooms over the garage that is Trans office. The door is open and he sees Tran bent over his desk working on something. "Tran your friend is here." Tran looks up and sees the boy and smiles. "Thanks Ba." "I want to talk to you two sometime this evening. Will your friend be staying the night?" "We hadn't really talked about it Ba. But if its OK can he?" "We don't have any plans this evening maybe a movie and bowling if you guys want to join in the family fun. Or you can do your own thing. Up to you guys completely." "I got to call my dad and find out. If so I got to run home and get some things." "I'm sure whatever you need we have here. Or if you want you can go and get things." Eric replies. "Just really need some sleeping pants and a tooth brush." The boy replies. "We have plenty of those on hand. So your choice. I will leave you boys to it then. Tran if you need me I will be in the living room. I need to wake up Alejandro he is sleeping on the floor with Buddy. Oh and I thought we would order from Tony's do carryout or would you boys rather go out and eat?" Tran looks at his friend and they communicate by the power of the mind somehow and its decided they will eat here. Eric checks on Joey and he is playing a game. Eric shakes his head and walks back to Trans office. "Sorry to interrupt you guys but is there anything your friend doesn't like on pizza?" "Mushrooms. I cant eat them. Just the thought of them is gross to me. But I can pick them off its OK if you guys want them." "We will survive without them I'm sure." Eric says smiling. He walks back to Joeys room and goes in. "Done with homework?" "Yeah it just sucks teachers shouldn't give homework on the weekends especially so close to the end of the year you know." "Joey you would complain if you had homework any time. As a matter of fact you do." Eric says laughing. "It just seems like we learn enough at school. Why do we have to bring more home?" "Its so they make sure you understand whats going on, and can manage it on your own." "You tell me that, and I believe you, just doesn't mean I like it." Joey says smiling. "You don't have to like it. You just have to do it." "I do." "Because I nag your little ass." "Like the Jewish mother you are dad." Joey says laughing. "Us Jewish mothers worry you know." Eric says in an old ladies voice cracking up Joey. "I'm getting ready to order some pizzas. Want to ride with to go get them?" "I'm about to get this world completed." "That is a no then." "Yeah its a no. I've been trying to do it for a week now. But we been busy so I haven't had time." "You have fun. I will let you know when its here." "Cool thanks dad." Joey says and unpauses his game and is back to it. Eric just doesn't see the fun in spending hours playing a video game. But the boys all love it. He knows its because he didn't really have a normal childhood. But it was the one he liked and wouldn't change it for anything. He walks down the back stairs and into the living room. He walks over to Alejandro and gently shakes him. "Sweet heart time to wake up." Buddy opens his eyes and looks up at Eric. The dog seems so at peace laying in Alejandro's arms. He licks Alejandro's face. "Dad I'm awake don't lick me." Alejandro says his eyes still closed. "I didn't lick you silly." He opens his eyes and sees Buddy and remembers they have a dog now. He smiles when he sees him in his arms and kisses the top of his head. "Hi Buddy!" He says grinning ear to ear. The dog licks his face again. Eric smiles. The love of a boy and dog is beginning for sure. He is actually surprised the other boys aren't down here trying to play with the dog. But Eric thinks his warning to let him get used to things first because he was abused meant to them to leave him alone completely which is not what he meant. Just let him get acclimated to the house before they overwhelm him with affection he isn't used to getting yet. "I'm ordering pizzas. You want to come with?" "Can Buddy come?" Alejandro asks while gently petting the dog who seems to be enjoying it. "I think that will be OK. But you will have to wait in the car while I go in. I am certain that Tony's staff wont be happy having a dog come in to visit." Alejandro giggles. "Let me call and make the order and you go get your shoes on." Alejandro gets up and Buddy looks up at him with his sad doggie eyes. "C'mon Buddy lets go get my shoes." Alejandro tells him and races off. Buddy looks at Eric and then at Alejandro racing out of the room. "Well, go on." He tells him. The dog looks at Eric then the now empty door and races off after the boy. Eric smiles after the two and thinks he knew that of the three boys Alejandro would connect with the dog first. Due to their similar pasts. Joey was abused but really more neglected than abused. Tran well he was never loved so he too was neglected. He was just a check for someone. But Alejandro didn't know a day without abuse and neglect. How is as well adjusted as he is is beyond Eric's comprehension. He tried to get him into therapy for a good while so he could talk about it to someone. But he has refused every time. Alejandro tells him if he needs to talk about it he will to him. He doesn't need a stranger to help him. Eric without any luck has tried. But he is doing just fine and Eric isn't going to push it. He has talked to Joy about it on a number of occasions and she says if he doesn't want to do it then it would be fruitless to force him to do it because he wouldn't cooperate. So there is no point. He calls and orders some pizza wings and garlic knots. He isn't sure when wings became part of ordering pizza but it has. He doesn't particularly care for wings because its a lot of work for so little pay off with the small amount of meat on a wing. But the boys like them. He rarely eats them. But on occasion will have a few. They let him know it will be about 20 minutes. Which is perfect because that's what it takes to get there or close to it. As he ends the call Alejandro and Buddy are back and ready to go. Well, Alejandro is and Buddy it seems is game to do anything his boy wants to do. Its so cute Buddy is next to Alejandro and looking up at him like OK whats next? Eric wonders if he is going to have to get the other boys dogs too because Buddy sure seems to have taken to Alejandro. He thinks he will wait and see. No rush and he isn't sure if he wants three dogs. He still isn't sure if he wants this one. But, he couldn't let him die. That would have just completed the abuse for the dog. Beaten and beaten and abused some more then killed. Just didn't seem right. Everything and everyone needs a little love right? "Lets get going then." Eric says smiling at the two of them. They walk to the garage and Buddy is right next to Alejandro as they walk to the car. When he opens the door and climbs in Buddy just stares at him. "Well hop in Buddy." He says to the dog. Buddy wags his tail twice and hops in. Eric gets in and they go get the pizzas. They drive and Eric glances in the rear view mirror and sees the dog on his sons lap and smiles as he sees Alejandro is gently rubbing his head and the dog seems very content with his new life now. When Eric pulls in he looks back. "Just be a second." Eric says and gets out. He locks the doors because he doesn't want some creep to steal Alejandro. He rushes in and pays leaving a nice tip for the girl that got him the pizzas. Some people don't tip when they do carry out But Eric knows that these people survive on tips so he always does. He rushes back out and hits the key fob to unlock the doors and puts the pizzas in the trunk for a couple reasons. One he doesn't want his car to smell like he delivers pizzas. Not that he thinks its bad to do that. He just doesn't want his car to smell like it is all. Also he doesn't know how Buddy will react to it yet. It seems the best option so that's why he does. He hops in and they take back off for home. He hears Alejandro talking to Buddy about boy stuff he thinks the dog would be interested in. The dog does seem to be listening though. So maybe he is interested. When they get back to the house Eric pulls in the garage and when they walk in they hear feet stomping down the stairs. "Ba we are starving." "I'm glad I can put an end to that. Tran why don't you get us all sodas. Joey help him out please." Alejandro and Eric get plates and napkins for all of them and set them on the dining room table next to the pizzas. Its funny watching Buddy he isn't really sure what to do. He smells the pizza which has his interest but he is following Alejandro around like, well a puppy. The other boys are more interested in eating then the dog and everyone gets a few slices and sits down. "Thanks for the pizza Mr Murphey. I don't get lots of carbs at home. My mom is always on some crazy diet." "Anytime." "Yeah Tyler was saying that he is excited to have some pizza for a change." Tran says and takes a bite. "And soda that's not diet." He takes a drink and smiles. "Ah sugar and dead calories you taste so good." He says making everyone laugh. They all eat and Eric sees Buddy is next to Alejandro who keeps slipping him pieces of pepperoni and pizza crusts. Eric isn't real sure if he likes that he is feeding the dog from the table or not. But he isn't going to stop it today anyway. Maybe later he isn't sure yet. He doesn't want the dog to be begging at every meal that's for sure. But he also wants the dog to adjust as easily as possible. Which he seems to be doing with Alejandro so far. When they are done Eric says to the boys. "I will make a deal if I tell you joke and 3 out of 4 laugh you clean up. If you don't I will clean up. Deal?" "Deal." He hears from four boys. "What do you call a fish with no eyes?" They look at him with blank stares. "A fsh." He says saying it without the I. "Wa wa wa dad joke alert." Joey shouts while giggling. Tran and his friend laugh as does Alejandro. "There you go you get to clean up." "Poppi we were laughing at Joey not you." "Laughter is laughter. You lose." Eric says laughing and gets up. "Tyler, Tran, and I would like to talk with you a bit if that's alright. Then you can either join me and the younger boys or you and Tran can hang out. Your guys choice." "Sure Tran said you wanted to ask some questions." "Joey and Alejandro why don't you do the clean up and put away the leftovers and we will talk. Then I will kick your little butts at some bowling." "WHATEVER!!!!" He hears shouted in stereo. "Are you a bad bowler Mr Murphey?" Tyler asks. "No my brothers are really good. I'm surprised you didn't know that. Alejandro got a 300 a while back." "Why would I know that?" "Because he talked about it on a late night talk show." "Oh that's right I keep forgetting your brother is famous. I don't stay on top of modern trends and stuff. I like what I like and that's just how I am." "So you don't like my songs?" Joey asks not mean but curious. "I don't think I ever heard one." Tyler responds. "Then how do you know what you like if you don't listen to all kinds of stuff?" "I guess you have a point. Maybe I should broaden my horizons a bit. Its what my dad always says anyway." Eric grabs his plate and the other boys follow suit and they rinse them and put them in the dishwasher. "Why don't we talk downstairs. I will holler for you guys when we are done."He tells Joey and Alejandro. "Dad you can text us now." Eric sighs. "Alright I will text then." He had actually forgotten about the phones they just got a few hours ago. Eric, Tran and Tyler head down to the basement. Eric turns on the lights at the top of the stairs and they head down. "Wow Tran you got it made dude. Look at all this cool stuff. I cant believe you got a bowling alley a pool table and a pinball machine." "Yeah it came with the house." Tran says as he has heard Eric say so often. "No way would Ba have put in the bowling lanes. Maybe the pool table. But I doubt it we never play." "I'm really good at pinball. I love the retro shit. Um stuff sorry Mr Murphey." "Its fine I understand boys want to sound grown up and cussing is part of it. You will hear me let out an occasional swear word." "I bet I can beat you at pinball Mr Murphey." Tyler says challenging Eric. "After our chat I will show you how wrong you are about that. But first we need to talk to you, and I want it to be interruption free. Lets have a seat on the couches here. Tran why don't you grab us a soda from the fridge?" Tran grabs them all three a soda from the mini fridge and they all open them and take a drink. "So Tyler, Tran has informed me you want him to be your boy friend. Tran and I talked last night about it and Tran has some moral issues he needs to deal with. You see I teach my boys to always be true to themselves. Tran feels that if he dates you he should be open and honest about it. I think that's the best way to be. I understand that a lot of boys and girls for that matter who are gay hide the fact out of fear. And rightly so some times. So we naturally have some concerns. You see when I was growing up being gay was not accepted at all. They were cruel to the one boy that actually came out in my high school. I still regret not trying to be his friend or help him in any way. I have remorse about that. But I would have more remorse if something happened to my super boy more. So when did you come out at school?" "I don't know really. I have kind of always been out. I knew real early I was gay at like 5 or 6 and other boys would call me names like fag or stuff and I just never denied it. I would always say so. Or something like that. In grade school it was harder to be honest. But since high school started its a lot easier. Boys are more into girls and sports then worried about me." "If Tran comes out as gay it wont just be to the school. As you now remember Joey is pretty famous and if Tran decides to do this it will be to the world not to just the school. I worry about him and other boys like him. I know that gay teens commit more suicide then any other group. So what should we prepare for?" "Not a lot really. I mean for the most part most kids don't give a fuck. Um I mean care one way or another. But there are of course some dicks that think they are superior to me because they like the fish." "I imagine that to some degree it will always be like that. People like to try and feel superior." Eric responds. "I imagine it will be the same guys that already make fun of me for being Chinese." Tran states. Eric cocks his head. "You never told me this." "Its no big deal Ba. I've been called chink so much in my life I think its a nick name." Eric is furious. "That is completely unacceptable. I am so going to talk to your principal Monday morning. I will not have my son being racially attacked by backwoods ignorant little fucks." "Ba no really it will just make it worse." Eric is fuming but he just nods at Tran knowing he is possibly right. But he sure isn't going to let it stand. But for now he is. "So if Tran does decide to come out are you just going to go out with him and then a few weeks later move on to some other boy that catches your fancy. Because he will be going through a lot and I don't want you to just move on like he is nothing to you. Because he is very important to me." "No I don't think so. I mean I cant predict the future or anything. But Mr Murphey I haven't ever asked a guy out. I've never dated before because no one as you said caught my fancy. I mean sure there are guys I think are super cute. But most of them aren't gay and they just don't interest me. Tran is different then them though. He is way smart and focused. I like the way he looks but more importantly I like who is is. He is a real neat guy. I really want to spend a lot of time with him and really get to know him better. We talk at school sometimes and I like what he has to say and how he says it. So no sir I don't think we will just date a short time and quit. I don't think we will be together forever and end up getting married. But then again you never know. My mom and dad were sweet hearts since they were in 5th grade and ended up getting married right after college. So I guess maybe you just never know really." "I understand. You never know where your life will lead you. I woke up on my birthday last year turning 41 a single guy that retired and next thing I know a week later I have a son I met on my birthday." "Joey or Alejandro?" He asks. "Alejandro." "Thats so cool that you have so much love to be able to do that." "Its easy really. Whats not to love about these great boys of mine." Eric says smiling. "Tran I think I've asked all I had. Anything from you?" "No Ba I think you got most of what I was thinking." "Mr Murphey I think its so cool you are OK with Tran being gay, and letting me come over and stay the night." "Tyler I love my sons no matter what. Tran being gay is the same as him being Chinese. Its how he was born and that is just how it is. I accept and love my sons no matter what. I think more parents should be that way. I think we would have a more understanding and more loving world that way." "That's so cool." He says smiling at Eric. "Now Tyler I know you are teen boys and hormones and stuff. All I ask is you be safe." He and Tran both blush. "Mr Murphey I'm a virgin. I don't know if I am ready for sex yet or not. But if we do stuff we will be safe." "Yeah Ba I promise I wont get pregnant." Eric rolls with laughter at this. The boys laugh hard as well. "So do you want to join us or be on your own?" Tran looks at Tyler and answers. "By ourselves for a while. We may join you in a while." He answers for them. "Tell your brothers we are done. I left my phone upstairs." "Kay Ba." Tran gets up and gives Eric a hug and a kiss on the cheek. The boys are almost upstairs and he hears Tyler. "Your dad is so cool." "My dad can be tough at times. But he is a real understanding guy. Hes the best dad ever I think." He doesn't hear them anymore after that but he is smiling. He likes this boy and hopes he and Tran can make a go of it. But at 14 he doubts it will be a super long relationship. Maybe a few months at most. But they have to start somewhere. OK so here are my thoughts. First, I'm so disappointed by the Supreme Court's decision. I think that a person has the right to choose what they desire to do with their own person. Be it get an abortion of refusing or accepting a vaccine. It is your body I feel you SHOULD have that choice. It wasnt until a few years ago you could get a tattoo in some states. Hell, in some its still illegal. Where does it stop? Will my writing be deemed child porn soon? Even though it is pure fantasy? Will gay marrige cease? Will we be forced to pray to a god we dont believe in? Im worried and scared about the direction this country is going? Anyone got a spare room somewhere in say Finland? Well those are my feelings about whats going on in the real world. As for the fun place of Nifty Land I have been reading some really great stories. Wes has an amazing one out you HAVE to read. Its called uncaged. If you havent started it. Stop reading now and go to it. Its amazing. Another is By Ryan White. Its called Twelve year old Tyler. Its amazing and like nothing Ive read before. The situation to me is unique and interesting. He is like me and works a lot so he isnt able to post like he would like to. Usually every two weeks or so. But its well worth the wait. Give these works a read and please let them know what you think of it. As a writer we really do love hearing feedback from our readers. Its how we know for one anyone is reading and for two if you are enjoying it. Im working currently on this obviously. I also have 4 parts of Mr Jones Place completed. When I get it done I will post it. Also a question I get a lot so I figure answer it here. Why do I put Good Happiness when I finish a message sometimes. Instead of Happiness? There are all kinds of happiness, some is not good. I want all of you to have Good Happiness not just happiness. Which can lead to destruction. Good happiness spreads. Thats all I got Peace, Love and Good Happiness Eric
