Chapter 9 One night before the snow began to fly a truck stopped at the end of the driveway. Kyle and I happened to be on watch. When someone got out of the truck. We raised our guns and yell out to them. "You're not welcomed here so please get back in your truck and leave." The person raises their hand and began walking towards us and yelled back. "We need your help please?" Who ever it was sounded like a little girl and as they got closer they also appeared to be a young girl. Kyle looked at me and said. "If someone is hurt we have to help." He was right we couldn't just turn someone who is injured away. So I yelled back to them and had the driver pull the truck into the yard. The young girl got back into the truck and they made their way up into the yard. A tall young man opened the driver's side door and raised his hands as he got out of the truck. He appeared to be around 17 years old and he called out that he was unarmed. With my gun still raised I told him to get on the ground. Which he did immediately then the passenger side door opened and the young looking girl or what appeared to be a girl got out and did the same? Kyle moved closer to the truck then walked around to the open door and saw there were two young boys lying in the front seat. He yelled for me to get the twins. Then he backed away and moved around to the front of the truck. He held the gun on the two outside of the truck while I ran to get the twins. The twins were up and had there bags in hand as I reached the door. Both with guns in hands. They ran to the truck and were inside before I had a chance to look around. The two boys in the truck looked to be out cold. One had a bullet hole in his right shoulder and the other boy looked to have been shot in the head but looked to be only be grazed but was bleeding a lot. Bobby pulled the first boy out and yelled at me to help him carry the boy to the house. Billy yelled at Kyle to help him get the others in the house and come to help him. Kyle told the two on the ground to get up and to go into the house where Bobby had taken the other boy. Once inside I covered the two boys and Kyle ran out to help Billy. Yes the boy that I thought was a girl was in fact a boy. He had long blonde hair and appeared to be wearing shorts that were torn at the crotch. Kyle and Billy brought the other boy in and began to put a bandage on his head. Then Billy went to help Bobby with the other boy. The twins tore the shirt off the shirt off the boy they had laying on the table. You could see the hole torn threw the young mans shoulder. Then Bobby turned and told everyone to get out. So with our guns still raise Kyle and I took the two boys back outside and took them to the main house. Chris heard all the noise outside and was up, he met us as we walked in the door. He had eggs on the stove fresh lamb loins cooking and bread in the oven. we had lowered our guns and invited the two young men in to have something to eat. I started out by introducing myself. I said. "My name is Jeff, this is Kyle and our cook is Chris." The boy with the long blonde hair and torn shorts said, "My name, Troy, this is Craig but he don't say much, the two guys your friends are working on are Anthony and Anton. They are twins if you didn't notice." I didn't notice, so I knew I would have to have a closer look later. Troy went on to tell us his story of what brought them here. While Chris finish cooking. His story started with the four of them and their parents traveling with a caravan of vehicles that had been traveling on the road for the last eight years; they had been driving from town to town staying just in front of the fighting. Two years ago their group had decided to settle down since the fighting had move south from where they had stopped. Troy said that their group was making things work. They began by planting crops in the spring while still living in there vehicles, they also started fix houses up so they had homes to live in. Plants were growing, the group started living the life of homesteaders instead of a group of rag tagged travelers who were just were living to survive. Everything was going good until one night midsummer of this year, the group was attacked the first time, who ever attacked them just shot out the tires on a few of their vehicles the first time. The next night shots were taken at the house. No one was hurt but this causes some of the adults to begin taking turns guarding the property. Once they did this they the attacks slowed down and soon stopped. Troy said little did they know who ever was attacking them was preparing for an all out attack. It began just before night fall the first shots that were taken killed the guards that were protecting the place. Next came the attacks on the main farm house. Troy told us he did not think anyone in the house survived. Craig, Anton, Anthony, and I were out in working in the barn doing chores when they attacked the house. Craig was the only one who knew how to drive so they rushed to one of the trucks and drove off. Troy told us they have been moving from town to town farm house to farm house picking through everything they could find to stay alive. Troy said they had past this way about two months ago and had stopped when they saw another truck but when the other truck stopped and showed them they were armed the quickly drove off. He said they also came upon a small town but most of the buildings had been burned out or collapsed in upon themselves. As they continued west they met up with some other groups traveling going west they had heard out a big house that was abandoned and decided to go with the groups and investigate. Once they reached the house it was huge. Troy said there had to be like 40 rooms in the house. It was then that I looked at Tyler and Tyler looked at me. Troy told us they parked their truck around back away from the rest of the group and it was a good thing they had. They had been there for two week with nothing happening and everyone was settling in and getting comfortable. The boys had chosen to sleep together in the same room. The room they chose had a nice fireplace and two beds and they had a door that lead out back into a garden. Troy stopped as Chris set food down in front of him. He looked at me like he was asking for permission to stop telling his story so he could have something to eat. Craig had already started to eat. So I told him. "Why don't you eat and you can finish telling us your story after your done." he smiled then said. "Thank you." Chris, Tyler and I sat and watched as the two young men dug into there food. I pulled Tyler aside along with Chris and asked Tyler if he thought they had found Turnhurst manor and he thought they had. When Troy finish he went on telling us their story as Craig sat and listen along with the rest of us. Troy went on telling us that the night before last they had gone to bed in the room. When they heard noise coming from the hallway. At first they thought someone was banging on something but when the noise got louder they made a break for the door and scrambled toward the truck. They had their rout to the truck figured out but they didn't move fast enough. Anton was the first to get shot in the shoulder. Anthony went back to help his brother that was then he got shot in the head. Troy said Craig grabbed both of the two injured boys and carried them both to the truck. It was then that Craig said something and he had tears in his eyes as he said. "I couldn't leave them boys they are like brothers to me." Troy then got up and put his arm around him and said. "They will be ok, I trust these people." When Craig calmed down Troy moved his chair next to him and went on with his story. Craig carried both Anton and Anthony back to the truck. The next thing I remember is we were here. We saw the lights and decided to see if you would help us? The two boys sat quietly at the table holding each others hands. It was a strange site to see. Chris looked at me then turned to Troy and asked him how old he was. Troy looked up and studied all of us before saying. "I am 14 why?" Chris looked just as surprised as I was. "Wow really". I said. "Damn Troy you don't look a day over 9 years old and when I first saw you I thought you were a girl." "Yeah, I get that a lot." He nervously giggled. "But if you want me to prove to you I am a boy I can." Then he raised his torn short and there hanging between his legs was a 3 inch cock complete with a full bush surrounding his cock along with two plum sized testicals. Then he lowered his shorts as his face turned a bright red. "I told you I was all boy." Then he laughed nervously. It was then that Craig spoke up again and said. "I can prove I am a boy to if you want me too?" We all began to laugh. Craig smile for the first time and it was then that I notice what I had not noticed before. Even thought he stood a good foot and a half taller than me he was a very handsome young man. Though he was all skin and bone there was no doubt he was strong from what Troy had told us about him picking up the two boys and caring them to the truck. I told Craig he didn't have to prove anything to us and he smiled again. I looked over at Chris and asked him to find out what size clothes Craig and Troy wore and sent him out to find something that would fit them. Kyle went up to draw a bath for the two young men. I then made the short walk over to Billy and Bobby's house.
