Expressly prohibited is placing this story at a for pay site. It is a fantasy, and is not about anyone real. It has minor characters, and is intended only for a mature audience. When I came back to write the next part of Sascha's story Len told me "I have great possibilities and I refuse to be one step under a cartoon, either give me life or a new author. Since no one out there had offered to adopt them, they had to still put up with me. I decided to send Len and Lance on a pre-paid vacation to a literary time-share for a week or two. I shudder to think what the future will be like if there comes a way to genetically design characters from stories. However if that day does come I would gladly make an exception for a certain authors characters especially the one that starts with the letter C. By the way: Comments are very welcome and appreciated at ZaneG7@excite.com, Underground Angel: Above Ground: Part 7 by: Zane Hunter Green Arriving at the cabin, Aries woke up if on clue and started to howl. It was the signal that he had to take care of dog business. It was nice to be in the woods and not to have to follow his leash with a plastic bag and a sand shovel. I asked Sash to sit still for a moment, while I checked the house to see if it was all right. My encounter with the underworld had made me more cautious. I hated losing even brief contact with Sash as I moved away. He took his hand from my groin as I backed away. Once outside the car, I pulled up my zipper in case there was unwelcome company of some sort. I turned on the switch of my flashlight and walked quietly up to the cabin. On the deck were a few spiders, and mouse droppings, which would make Sash happy. Nothing like a nest of rodents for that boy! Otherwise it was as quiet. The leaves and dirt that had piled up from its lack of use prompted me to think that I should hire someone as a caretaker. Last year I had debated putting the place on the market, I had no longer believed that I had any use for it. How a year can change your life! I thought now, what man doesn't dream of having a place like this when there is a boy to share it with? . I unlocked the door, and entered the great room. When I switched on the lights, which flickered before fully coming on I took a sigh of relief. Everything was how I had left it. It was dusty and cool, but it could be cleaned in the morning. I only hoped that Sash would have fun here, I went back to the car to get him. "Come-on Sash, it's a bit dirty, but I think you'll like the cabin." "Cool, I always wanted to go camping." "This isn't exactly camping, your nights in the subway were closer to that." I whistled for Aries who bounded back from the trees beyond the gravel drive. After I put our stuff into the bedroom I heard Sash fiddling in the kitchen. He had discovered a box of hot chocolate, and was trying to figure out how to turn on the stove. "Here, you have to light it with a match." I lit a burner for him. "I hope it's ok if I make us something to drink." He asked. "Of course." I explained to him how the few provisions like the cocoa had been left in an animal-proof box. The cups and teakettle had to be rinsed off first though. While the water was boiling I went into the greatroom and wiped down the wooden furniture. I had bagged the cushions, and took them out throwing the plastic wrapper away. Sash came in trying hard not to spill the overfull cups. I instantly saw him as a cup barer from the Gods; no beer would match the hot drink he made out of powder at least a year and a half old. I took the cup he offered he, and he sat down beside me. He took a sip, the chocolate making a delicate umber mustache on his angelic face. I was going to ask him what was wrong, but he beat me to it." "Kurt sometimes I think you're sorry that I'm with you." "Never that Sash, never think that." I didn't want to tell him how I used to foolishly judge my lovers by how they were hung, what they looked like, who they were or whom they knew. "What were you like when you were my age?" "Not half as smart as you." "That's not true, I bet you were sexy too. Did you have sex at my age?" "When I was just a little older than you are." "Please tell me what you were like Kurt? Tell me about your first time?" "My first time, lets see. I know it was better than I let myself believe." "Was it with another boy? Or a man?" "It was with another boy, he's not alive anymore. I wanted to pretend that I didn't like it. I was conditioned to think that I wasn't supposed to enjoy sex with another boy. He was really a good friend; he had an autographed baseball by Pete Rose that his Dad had given him when he got thrown out of the league for gamboling. A misfit for a misfit, his Dad had said, Terry loved that ball but he gave it to me." "After he died you've never been the same, have you?" Asked Sash. "No, I haven't. I thought I saw him in the subway. It was wishful thinking I guess. I wanted him to forgive me for hurting him so badly. Sash I never want to hurt you too, but I often think you should have picked a better man than me." " Well I picked you. I love you. I didn't want anyone else. I never told you this Kurt but you remind me of my Dad. Something really bad happened to me too." "I know with that piece of scum who brought you to New York." "No, it was at school, I let myself be different, I didn't try to fit in because I wanted to be hurt since you're still hurt. I wanted to understand how you felt." "That doesn't make any sense? What did you do?" "I let a lot of boys have sex with me." "Oh Sascha, how could something like that happen at school?" "I don't know, I scared myself. I could have stopped it but I didn't. I couldn't stop sending out the message that I want attention, I really only want to be with you, but part of me thinks I'm not good enough, that others can teach me more, make me better. I've stopped reading too Kurt." "I'm a bad influence for you Sash, I know it, I've poisoned you with my own hang-ups." "No, I don't think so at all Kurt, I think that there are people out to get me and their thoughts are getting through." "Who are these people? Are they people from your Island?" "Yes, they have to be my own countrymen, I ran away from my responsibility as reader, and they need me to come back." "What can I do?" "Just love me. I also have to figure out what to do, At first I wanted to change the rules, my father said they were archaic and he tried, that's why they blinded him, so he could no longer read, they took his tongue so he could no longer talk, they silenced him. They were afraid he would destroy everything." "Fine people, these." "Kurt, you will not like what's coming but if you love me like you say you must help me." "What must I do?" "There's a boy named Noah, I need to get him on my side. If we invite him up here tomorrow he will come..." "Is he the friend you spoke of who came home with you from school?" "Yes, but he's not my friend, he's my enemy." "If he's an enemy Sash, how can I have him in our cabin. Isn't it better that he not know where you are at?" Sash had put down his cup and he seemed to be crying. My drink had become cold so I too put it down. He sat closer beside me and before I could think I tasted the chocolate from his red lips. One thing quickly lead to another as it always did with him. I cradled him in my arms as I carried him into the bedroom. Somehow I lifted off the cover while holding him up with one hand, burrowed against me. As we sweated in passion our clothes came off one by one, until I caressed his body of silken muscle. He was ripe with juice when I penetrated his bowels. I slide in, my boat easing into the harbor, and knocking against the walls until the spray of the waters gushed up and then down deep into him. We panted, and lay together without moving for a very long time. Finally I reached his hand to my mouth and kissed it. "Thank you" I said. "For what?" "For just coming into my life. You've changed it a lot." "How?" "For one thing I have decided you mean more to me than I do to myself. If you want this Noah to come here, you may invite him, but know this Sash. I am going to catch the bullet for you." "No one's going to try and shoot me Kurt, he's not that kind of enemy." "Catching the bullet is just an expression, it means any anyone tries to harm you I will block their way." "He wants my powers, he can have them." "What do you mean?" "I plan to give him the book, I will make him reader. That way I can stay with you." "Sash, is that what you really want to do?" "Oh yes, and no one can stop me."
