That may be so, maybe too much corned beef on St. Paddy's Day, but the simple fact behind this story remains that it was written for Saint Patrick' Day, (which is one of my favorite holidays). It turned out to be a longer story than I had originally planned it to be. I had a lot of fun writing this, and if you took time out of a valuable and busy life to read it or even part of it I thank you. Every book and story is to a degree, the book. For that reason I could never really put a name on it. Underground Angel: Above Ground :The Ending by Zane Hunter Green 1. Sash asked if he could return inside the cabin for a moment. I finished loading the car and realized he hadn't returned yet. I went back inside to get him. At first I thought perhaps he had gone out the back door and I missed him. As I started to go out, I heard a noise almost like a rumble coming from the bedroom. I went inside quietly. Noah sat on my bed cradling his book on his lap, his eyes were shut but he was screaming. Silent screams, in sign language I was an intruder, and I was going to shut the door until I saw him sign my name. Of course I had to know, even if it was like taking a peek into a private diary. " I didn't mean to fall in love with Kurt but it happened .So Father, I have chosen my own path through this life. Please forgive me for being a different son than one you wanted, and that you deserved. I know what you sacrificed for me to have the book, and I must now give it to another. I can not be caught in two worlds. If I return to the Island I would do so without my heart. Forever I would read the words with my own misery. A reader can not look for just one type of story to mend their soul. I can not read now without Kurt being in a story, somewhere in my mind. Kurt is a lot like you were; he is bossy when he means to be wise. When he is most mature, it is because he remembers what he did when he was my age. He listens to me, and he delights in what I can do, yet he doesn't claim my victories as his own. I have made him want to re-write his life, but he knows that we can never do that. We can just take out mistakes, and build from them. I am giving the book to Noterah in your name. He was never your son in blood like I was, but he was your son in spirit. You taught me that our legacy is in all the world's children. In spirit I am Kurt's son. So I must do what is right. Forgive me. Softly I closed the door and I went back to the car to wait for him. "Where is Sascha?" Noah asked "He forgot something Noah, he'll be here soon." "He makes you wait for him, doesn't he. It gives him control." "That is a very cruel remark to say. I thought that you were his friend?" I said. Noah turned away from me and looked out the back window. Sash appeared with a lump under his shirt. "Well now boys, we'll be off." Sash got into the back with Noah. "I thought we'd be all day waiting for you?" Noah complained. "You like fishing that much Noah? I'm sorry that you had to wait." Said Sash sounding older than his years. "You could always pee in the woods." Smirked Noah. "What! With you watching? I didn't have to pee, or anything else either, I just had to get something." Replied Sash. "Oh?" Noah said. "And you know what it is too." Sash told him. "A rubber?" Stated Noah. "Ha! Very funny! Stop the jokes, I know who you are, Noterah!" Replied Sash. "Then you know that we are going to take you back to Hertanops. Troops are in New York now. Soon they will be following us. Why don't we go back and wait in the cabin, then no one will get hurt like your precious man-friend." "He's my Aristron-lover." "Your what?" "It doesn't matter, none of this does, I am giving you the book." "The book!" "Don't act so surprised, and I'm making you reader." "Sascha, why would you give me your powers, that doesn't make sense?" "Why, cause you could never do the same Noah? The fact that I gladly give them to you proves that I never should have been reader in the first place. I do not hunger for the power, I do not need it." "You are a fool Settrano!" said Noah. I remembered that Settrano was Sascha's true name. I almost said something myself but the boys acted like I wasn't there. "See, you can never understand this, that is why being reader is your destiny. You would do what ever you must to be reader, even if it is cheating, lying to yourself or others, all because you feel that it is ordained for you. The ends justify the means, always for you Noah, but that is all right. You have to think like that to be an un-biased reader. When men criticize you for lacking a toe, you need to be so full of the righteousness of your position that you see it as something lacking within them." Sash explained. "How do you know that I lack a toe?" Asked Noah perturbed. "We all lack toes, Noah, or something else like a toe be it physical or mental. It is really nothing. We aren't meant to be perfect, even the books are never that, they can't tell everything from each person's story. It's that imperfection that makes them perfect. You will soon find that out when you become the reader." I listened to them as I drove. The entrance to the lake was easy to pass so if I missed most of the boy's conversation it was because I was concentrating on the road. Finally I saw a twisted pine tree, next to one that had been hit by lightning several years before, but had continued to grow. I turned off the back road and down a one-lane dirt path until the lake was before us. It shimmered in the early morning sunlight. There was no one else but us. I parked under a tree where the car was almost camouflaged anyway. "Kurt, Noah and I are going down by the lake to do something important. We need you to be witness." "What is going on Sash?" I asked "I am going to freely give myself to Noah and then he gets the book." Calmly stated Sash as he started to turn off with Noah. "We are here to fish!" I pleaded They were already out of the car, running, and so I had no choice but to follow them. They had taken off their clothes leaving it in a pile, on top was the book, at first I thought I was watching two naked boys wrestle. They rolled on the grasses by the lake until they stopped, Noah was on top of Sash, and he was clearly the dominant one. I stood back not knowing what to do. I wanted to interfere but something held me back and I could only watch. "I give my body to you, I give it freely." I heard Sash cry out. Noah needed no prompting. Both boys had hard-ons but clearly Noah was almost man size in his erection. He had some dark hair fringing his testicles, while Sash was smooth and hairless. Sash got on his knees, and then slowly bent over, his head now against the grasses in a position of submission. I watched, as Noah plunged most of his hand into Sash's anus, clearly not in a gentle way. Sash whimpered. I tried to move but I could not. "Say the words, Noah commanded. "It is by my free will for you to take me." Sash rang out. Noah got on top of him grunting as his penis penetrated into Sash. He pumped for a short time until I could hear both boys moaning. Seed had been spilled. Sash reached behind, took some of Noah's sperm mixed with his own rectal juices, and smeared it on his fingers. Noah rolled off of him. First Sash touched Noah's lips with his damp fingers, and then his own. After the two boys kissed. Sash lay back again as Noah went to the book, and kissed the cover, the book was now his. Later that day we sat in the cabin eating fresh rainbow trout with Claytone who turned out to be the agent with Noah. Noah was already taking command. He was very good at it, as Sash pointed out. Claytone had been driving all over the place but fortunately never made contact until we showed up. Fly fishing on Snow Falcon Lake had proved to bring a wealth of fish. Claytone turned out to be a master at cleaning, and preparing the trout. I got the rest of super together. The boys had been romping in the woods with Aries, while Claytone and I became friends. I had even decided to visit Hertanops with Sash the following summer, especially after I found out it was a tropical paradise, with some of the best fishing in the world, both salt water, and fresh. Noah and Sash came back looking once more like that had sealed their friendship. Noah had his arm around Sash. I was almost afraid that he would take Sash away from me anyway. Sash asked me. "Can Noah stay here for a few days, Kurt?" I could not say no, that had been the original plan anyway. "Yes, of course Sash if you want him too." "I can help teach him how to care for the book" and a few other things I was thinking but it was all right. Sash needed friends his own age and from his own homeland. Claytone called some agents and made up some story about how they missed Sascha and Kurt, as they returned back to New York early. This was to buy us some time. I had forgotten completely about Len and Lance when we were fabricating a tale about how Claytone and Noah had missed us up here in the mountains^Å. 2. "Lance dear get up, you've been sleeping all day! Our guests are starting to arrive now." Len was getting excited now. "Len, I can't believe we were at it all night!" Yawned Lance. "Me either dear! There must not have been words to describe how good it was" said Lance "Well, get dressed, do get dressed! The caterers are here. I have to answer the doorbell." Said Len as he dashed out of Kurt's bedroom. Joey and an army of chefs walked in with trays of the most amazing foods. Oddly everything kind of looked somewhat the same. Snails in cricket sauce or something. Lance took a finger full of one of the dishes and made a face." "So what do you think Lance?" Asked Len. "Let's order pizzas, and get some ice-cream too." He said meekly. "That is foolish!" Then Len took a taste of the desert and got on the phone and ordered 100 assorted pizza, just to balance out the menu as he put it. The guests arrived shortly after the furniture had been pulled away to make room for a dance floor. Len was gushing over the house-warming gift people had been kind enough to bring. Lance was writing them down on a list, of which this was but a fragment: A red rosebush A print of a racing horse A model racecar A toad A lambskin condom Some western beads An old beat-up lamp Some odd tea Garlic and Saffron A pair of skis A neon-blue bathing suit Among many other artifacts which made the list a lengthy one. The party was in full swing when the doors burst open and in rammed 12 agents from Hertanops yelling, " Okay men find the two people who live here". Someone pointed out Len and Lance. "Get them and cut off their you know whatis we've been ordered to do the snake dance, here and now!" "What yelled the various ex-cons, who bodily threw the men out on the street and warned them that they would stuff certain body parts in well hidden places if they ever threatened their buddies again. The party went on all night, or so I heard, as I wasn't there, were you? This story ends happily, with Len and Lance cleaning up the house before the next evening when Kurt and Sash were due home. The only thing odd was how many bags of left over food had to be picked up by New York sanitation the following Wednesday, adding to the 14,000 tons usually collected everyday. From what I heard from Sash, that feed a lot of Nerofs and Findara's relatives that live at the landfill. Kurt turned to Sash and told him that he didn't want to make a field trip to Fresh Kills Sanitary Landfill, off of Staten Island to find out anytime soon. I heard that the snake dance was banished from Hertanops forever. I also have heard that Kurt would like to know what is in that book, as Sascha is still arranging surprises and fantasies for him that are not to be believed! Of course that information is all hearsay from a very reliable source and I can only hope that parts of it are true. THE END
