The All American Chapter 5 It was three hours before Hunter finally woke. He still ached, but nothing compared to how he felt earlier. He opened his eyes slowly to find Jerric sitting on his bed with books spread everywhere. Frustration was evident on his face. "How's it going?" Hunter asked, even though he was sure he knew the answer. "Let's put it this way. My head hurts as much as your body does. I told you Hunter, I can't do this." Hunter sat up wrapping the sheet around his still naked body. "Look Jerric, grab me a pair of boxers out of my drawer and we'll work on this together. I promised I'd help you, and after that massage I owe you one. I feel 100% better. Thanks." "Do I have to?" Jerric asked with a grin on his face. "What? Do the report? Of course you do." "I was referring to getting you the boxers." Hunter had heard enough. "Look Jerric, I think we need to talk. I'm kinda getting the impression that you're ummm hitting on me. What makes you think I'd be interested?" "Simple. From the bookmarks on laptop." Jerric confessed. "I thought you were gay from the moment I met you, but that kinda confirmed things." Hunter was livid. "And what the fuck were you doing on my laptop?" "Don't be mad. I didn't do it on purpose. I was trying to work on this report and wanted to get some more information off of the internet. My modem isn't working, so I logged on with your computer. I'm sorry. I guess I should have asked." Hunter could see the hurt in Jerric's eyes and felt bad for yelling at him. "Hey, don't worry about it. I guess it's good we got this out in the open anyway." Hunter could see the relief on Jerric's face. "Do the guys on the team know you're gay?" Jerric nodded. "Everyone knows. It's just not talked about. The University made that very clear when I signed with them. It's kinda like the military. Don't ask, don't tell, but I know it drives the Dean nuts. He's had me in his office more that once reminding me 'behave' in public." "What about you?" Jerric asked "Are you out?" Hunter laughed. "Are you serious. I'm from Casper, Wyoming. No one knows, not even my family. I'm sure my sister has an idea, but my parents just think I'm too wrapped up in school and ball to date." "So you don't date?" Jerric asked in disbelief. "Nope, never had a boyfriend, never dated." "Never been kissed?" Hunter shook his head. Jerric closed the book on his lap and slowly rose, never taking his eyes off of Hunter. He'd kissed hundreds of guys. He was a player who had encounters, not relationships. Why then was he so incredibly nervous? He sat down next to Hunter and ran his fingers through his hair starting near his forehead and slowly moving towards the back until his hand was gently massaging Hunter's neck. He pulled him forward with care until their lips were no more than an inch apart. "I want to be your first." Jerric whispered. As soon as the words were out of his mouth, he could feel Hunter tense up. "Relax, I only want to kiss you and I want your first kiss to be one you're gonna remember." He allowed their lips to touch and Hunter felt as though someone had touched his lips with hot iron. His body went limp and he melted in Jerric's arms. He had never experienced anything like this in his life. Pure passion from a gentle kiss. A kiss from Jerric Donovan. Chapter 6 "I knew it!" Jeff yelled. "I knew damn well you'd go after that kid." "I'm not 'going after' him." Jerric argued. "I kissed him. That's where it ended." "Bullshit Jerric. It never ends there. Your dick has a mind of its own. Speaking of which, Adam asked about you last night. I told him he had some competition." Panic covered Jerric's face. "Jeff, tell me you're lying? You didn't mention Hunter's name did you?" Jeff was confused. "What's up with you Jerric? Don't tell me there's really a heart buried in that chest somewhere." "I don't know what it is Jeff. There's just something about him." Jeff shook his head. "Gee, do you think it's the fact that he has some class and even a brain. Look Jerric, you're my best friend. I love you like a brother, but I have to tell you, this guy is out of your league. He's not gonna hop in bed with you." Jerric was immediately in Jeff's face. "What the hell makes you think I want him to? Do you think I'm totally incapable of a meaningful relationship?" Jeff responded without thinking. "Jerric, what I think you're capable of is a meaningful piece of ass, not a relationship." "Is that what you really think?" Jeff was sorry he had been so blunt. "Look, I think you could be a great boyfriend if you put some effort into it, but I haven't seen that from you. You compute how good a relationship is based on the quality of the sex. It's not like that Jerric. If you want something real, it has to come from your heart." "I want him Jeff and I don't mean it like you're thinking. I want to be near him, to talk to him, to hold him in my arms." Jeff could see the sincerity in his friend's eyes. "Then you got your work cut out for you. You can't treat him like you do those other guys. He's different." Jerric's face lit up. "I know he is. That's why I want him so much." Engrossed in their conversation, Jerric did not see Adam make his way to their table. "I missed you last night," Adam said wrapping his arms around Jerric's neck. "I'm not much for sleeping alone." Jerric quickly removed himself from Adam's grip. "Spare me Adam, since when do we ever sleep when I'm at your place. You're the only guy I know that runs at tab at the drug store for condoms." "Never hurts to be prepared, and since when are you complaining?" "I'm not complaining, just loosing interest." Adam laughed loudly. "You loosing interest? You seemed pretty damn interested the other night." "Look Adam, what we had was fun. You're great in bed, there's no denying that, but we both agreed that when one of us was ready to move on it wasn't gonna be a problem." "So, Jeff was right! There is someone else!" Adam screamed. Jeff immediately grabbed Adam by the shirt and shoved him hard against the cafeteria wall. "What the fuck do you think you're doing? You can't go yelling stuff like that! You want the whole dam school to know what's going on between you two?" "What, like I care if anyone knows I'm fucking the star basketball player?" Jeff pulled back his fist and hit Adam squarely on the jaw. "You open your god damn mouth again and I swear after the next punch they'll have to wire it back together. Do you understand me?" Adam nodded. "I mean it Adam. Stay away from him." To be continued......
