The dome light was enough to show movement inside as Tim continued to stroke the hair of the lifeless form underneath him. A motorist stopped and phoned 911. Emergency vehicles were quickly on the scene. Tim didn't want to leave Gary there by himself even though he knew nothing could be done for him. This was his first experience with death. At age five, his grandfather died but his parents decided to spare him the trauma of the funeral. Now just a few weeks short of his 15th birthday, he faced the stark reality of it in the worst possible way. This was Gary, his kindred spirit, the boy whose soul had touched his own. True love is not measured by the length of time one person knows another. Their brief encounter was long enough to visit on Tim the same overwhelming grief as the survivor of a life long, loving partnership. Flash bulbs lit up the eerie scene in the dark grove of trees. The local TV news team was anxious to film the wreckage but were held back by the police. They had a deadline to meet and were hoping to get a story for the 11 o'clock local news show. A fatality in this town was big news especially when it was a teenager. They managed to 'run the plates' with their sources and knew the name of the family who owned the car. The motorist who phoned in was being interviewed. He told them that there were two teenagers in the car and that the driver had been killed. An ambulance attendant kept checking Tim's eyes for signs of pupil dilation and a diagnosis of concussion. There was none. The only physical injury that Tim suffered was a lump and slight laceration to his forehead. The laceration to his heart went undiagnosed. There was no pill or bandage to bind that deepest of wounds. The Coroner made his determination and the body was zipped into a large black bag then hoist inside the ambulance. Tim insisted on sitting with Gary for the ride to the morgue. Tim's parents had been called and they would meet him there. Gary's mother arrived first and was given the sad task of identifying her only child's body. Martha had effectively lost two family members in the last two days; her husband and now her son. She phoned John at the church, catching him between phone calls to his subcommittee members. Sobbing openly, she managed to say: "John, Gary was in a car accident. I'm at the morgue and just identified his body. Our son is dead!" His reaction to her tearful news was so cold that it sent chills traversing her spine: ..... "I don't know who you're talking about, I have no son." When they got home, Tim told his parents how he met Gary but left out most of the physical aspects of their involvement. Even though he was visibly upset, they didn't understand how deeply hurt he was. Because the relationship only started a few days ago, they reasoned Tim would quickly return to normal. Tim cried himself to sleep with no one to share his immense grief. He awoke at 1:30 AM, waited for a half hour and dialed the number he knew so well. Taylor West looked at his alarm clock showing 2 AM. There was no question who was calling him at this hour. It was Tim. The phone rang twice and was silent again. This was their special code to meet at the clubhouse. Taylor was elated. Finally he thought, Timmy came to his senses. After all, a bottom-boy needs to be serviced. He didn't think that Tim had taken up with someone else. He did see him talking a few times in the cafeteria to that big stud, Justin Parker and Christopher, his little boyfriend. Then of course there was Tom Papson .... no threat there. He and Dave Arnett were an item and he didn't see where Tom would risk losing what he had for a fling with Timmy. Craig Allwein was straight, he was fairly certain of that. No, it couldn't be Craig. Gary Watkins talked to Timmy in the cafeteria. If there was a threat, Gary would be the one. It shocked Taylor when he saw Gary go in the stands to help Justin and Tom. He didn't think that Gary was gay until then. If Tim called though, he and Gary probably aren't getting it on or they just broke up. Taylor wouldn't admit it to himself but he wished that he and Tim could return to the way it was in the beginning. One day Taylor took a hard look at himself and became afraid of being gay. He loved Tim too much to stop seeing him so he decided to stop doing the things that only gay people do. He stopped Tim from fucking him in the ass, even though he enjoyed the feeling of him inside his body. He stopped sucking Tim's cock and he stopped kissing him on the mouth. He decided to treat Tim almost like he was his girl. He would do the fucking, Tim would do the sucking but the passionate, gay kissing would have to stop altogether. Taylor started to get dressed. The clubhouse was only a couple hundred feet from his house and about the same distance from Tim's place. Tim and Bobby, who lived here before, built it together. Since then, when Tay and Tim started fooling around, they found an old mattress and fixed up a little bed for their afterschool and 2 AM trysts. Tim made his way into the dark woods behind his house. He was naked except for a pair of sneakers. This is one of the things that Taylor had insisted on later in their relationship, it was his 'uniform'. Tonight Tim didn't care, he just needed some affection, some physical touching. He hoped that Taylor would give him the kind of affection they used to share before he changed. This was going to be degrading for Timmy but he didn't care. He would deal with that later. He got to the clubhouse before Taylor arrived and lit a few small candles that provided just enough light and still not be visible from the outside. He waited by the door on his knees until Tay walked inside a few minutes later. Tay stepped into the role that he had created for himself: "So, timmy-boy, just couldn't stay away from your manly stud could you? I told you that you'd be back. No one was going to put up with your sexual 'equality' stuff. Just look at you, naked and waiting to have me service your hot little body. You missed having my hot cock in your mouth and up your ass, didn't you! Isn't that right bottom-boy, answer me!" Tim knew the game, he hated it, but he would endure it for one more time. "Yes sir, I want you to shoot your manly seed down my throat and up my boy cunt, please sir, please! Tim heard himself say the words and it disgusted him. Why does Tay make me degrade myself, why can't we just acknowledge that we love each other. Despite everything he still cared for Taylor, the Taylor he knew when they first met, the kind, loving Taylor with shoulder length hair. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Justin and Christopher heard the 11 o'clock news promo around 10:30. 'One car crash claims the life of an unidentified local teenager, news and film at eleven.' Justin's mother decided to stay up to hear what happened. They were all concerned, there was a good possibility that they would know who it was. She looked at her two boys sitting on the sofa holding hands. She said a silent prayer of thanks that it wasn't either of them that had died. She wondered about the parents of the boy who was killed and how devastated they both must feel. She couldn't imagine what would be worse news for a parent than the death of their child. They kept the story for the end of the show, hoping to get more details during air time. The official release of names would have to come from the Office of the Coroner in conjunction with the local police department. The release of names didn't come during the show and because of it, certain footage had to be cut to avoid showing much of the car wreck. The name of the road was given and some film from a distance. Justin thought that he recognized that spot along the highway but couldn't exactly place it in his mind. They all went up to bed hoping that it wasn't one of their friends. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Reverend Paul was sitting at the kitchen table in the Watkin's home unable to find the words that would give comfort to Martha. He was still trying to figure out the terse phone call he received from John Watkins. His voice was devoid of any discernible emotion. He said that His wife's son died in a car accident and she probably would need some religious help to get through it. 'His wife's son', the words were still clear in his mind. John certainly hadn't ask for his help, but he would stop to see him before he went home. Are there any close friends of yours that I can call to have them stop over to see you tonight. I must be going and frankly I'm worried about you. Martha looked at Reverend Paul and said there were none. "John didn't like to have people over to the house. Most of the friends we had know this and just stay away." Reverend Paul got assurances from her that she would be fine. He pulled out of the driveway and just stopped. The impact of John's words and Martha's state of loneliness made him say a prayer. This tragic event threatened to break the spirit of a kind and gentle woman who now sat alone in a house devoid of people and happy memories to cling to. How sad he thought that a couple who had devoted so much to their church had devoted so little to their family. Elder John greeted the Reverend in the doorway to the church basement apartment. He asked after his wife but refused to hear any words about his son. He repeated his earlier statement that he didn't have a son. "His sin of homosexuality was an abomination before the Lord, I can never forgive him for that" He politely thanked the Reverend for stopping to see him but was quick to add that he didn't need his counsel because God was directing him in a mission that was more important to the community than the death of another defiler of the word of God. With that said, he closed the door. Reverend Paul stood there for a few minutes and wondered how John had gotten so bitter and why he hadn't recognized it before. This is a dangerous man, he thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------ Taylor stood in the middle of the clubhouse and ordered Tim to low crawl toward him and suck his cock. Tim was naked, on his knees, as ordered. He thought about Gary and the love that he lost. The promised relationship lost that would have lead to the mutual sharing of love that he wanted so badly. Yet here he was, going back to being the loveless bottom-boy. Instead of crawling to service Taylor, he stood up and silently walked out into the dark night. Taylor was left standing there, confused, with his cock in his hand and his mouth wide open, completely surprised at Tim's departure. He wanted to run after him, try to make him understand. Taylor went home, got back into bed but couldn't sleep. He reached for the phone several times but just couldn't get himself to call his Timmy. Tomorrow, he thought, at school, I'll talk to him. Justin's phone rang. It was 2:50 AM. "Gary's dead and I just don't know what to do." Tim said in a forlorn, little boy voice. "Let a note for your parents, tell them you are going to spend the rest of the night with Christopher and Me. We'll be there in 10 minutes to pick you up." "Thanks Justin, I love you!" "I love you too, kid." ------------------------------------------------------------------ Justin and Christopher pulled up to Tim's house at exactly 3 AM. Tim was waiting and Christopher stepped out so Tim could sit in the middle. Justin and Christopher almost as if on cue both leaned over and kissed him on each cheek. Tim's tears started to flow the moment he sat down. Justin pulled out and slowly drove toward home. He tried as best he could to tell them everything that happened leading up to the crash. He sobbed at times, reliving the moment when he knew Gary was dead. Christopher pulled his head into his chest and cradled him, trying to absorb some of the pain he was feeling, taking it into himself. Justin could hardly see to drive. Tears were welling up in his eyes as he realized the depth of loss that Tim was feeling. Justin cried for the little boy inside of Gary. The lost little boy who was now finally able to rest. The house was quiet as they tiptoed up the stairs, trying not to wake Justin's mom. No words were spoken and they each stripped off their clothes and got into bed. Tim was placed in the middle, tight against the naked bodies of his two friends, their nurturing arms enveloped him in a cocoon of warm, naked flesh. Tim closed his eyes and absorbed that warmth radiating on both sides of him. He thought how lucky he was to have such loving friends as these. His last conscious thought was of the happiness that the little boy in Gary had found, a happiness that could not have been attained here on earth. The damage that his father caused him was too great, the dread of eternal damnation was wired into the fabric of his mind, the guilt he felt for the simple act of loving another boy could be lessened but never expunged. In his dream, Tim wept for Gary but mostly for himself. Gary found his peace but Tim's search had to begin again. Tears should be shed for the living, not for the dead. ------------------------------------------------------------------ end chapter 17 Please let me know what your thoughts are?
