Part Six Two months earlier Kenny Anderson, Blade's younger brother, had approached me regarding the possibility of a job as he was about to graduate high school. No job opportunity existed at that time but I was keen to have Kenny on board, so I told him we would look at the situation again when he was available. Now that I had finalized the arrangement with Carlos, it became clear that I would need to have some assistance at the slave auctions I was to attend in neighboring states. It would not be possible to handle on my own the transportation of the stock purchased. I called Kenny and asked him to come and see me at my apartment that evening. He arrived at about 7.15 which was 15 minutes late but I let it go. He was dressed in blue jeans and a tight dark blue t-shirt and wore a black leather jacket. He looked really hot and I had some difficulty in keeping my eyes off him. I told him that something had come up at Slaves r Us and asked him whether he was serious about wanting to become a handler or was it just that he wanted something temporary until a better opportunity came along. He said "Dude, I thought you understood how I felt about the trade. I got some very serious views about slavery and I decided some time ago I would like to make a career out of it. I truly believe it's a good thing. An offender who is enslaved is only getting what he deserves and once he crosses the dividing line, it's up to us free guys to enforce on him his inferior status. I gotta be honest I don't expect to be a handler for ever, (he winked, "I'll leave that to Blade"), but I gotta start somewhere and you know yourself that I'll give it my best shot." I had to admit that Kenny was a very convincing young man. I told Kenny what I had in mind. I explained to him what I would be doing on behalf of Carlos and indicated I thought he might be ideal to assist me in shepherding the slaves we procured on Carlos's behalf from the auction block through to final transportation to Catalonia. In between he would operate as a conventional handler at Slaves r Us reporting to Blade. He said "When do I start?" @@@@@@ Carlos informed me that we should procure about six slaves at a time and once a batch had been transported to Catalonia, we should await his further instructions before proceeding with the next batch. He would make arrangements with his other operatives in the U.S. to take delivery of the slaves from us at specified locations, which turned out to be different each time, and they would then arrange transportation. Those locations were always in rather remote areas of the South West and I suspected that the slaves were transported in small aircraft from out-of-the-way landing strips. It didn't make sense otherwise. I didn't want to know any more quite frankly because I would not have been surprised if the small planes had carried an entirely different cargo on the inbound journey. In the light of Carlos's requirements I obtained another truck which we had customized to meet our needs. It was a closed vehicle with entry from the rear and was fitted with six standing cages, three on each side, with an aisle down the center for access. The cages had a large enough footprint, however, to allow the occupant to sit down with its legs drawn up. We were faced with road trips of not more than four or five hours so we did not intend to stop along the way and the slaves were watered and fed and were told to piss and shit before departure. On one occasion one of the slaves fouled its cage and Kenny hauled it out of the truck and beat the shit out of it along the side of the road. I obtained schedules of planned auctions in three neighboring states. It was not often that we were able to procure six suitable properties at one auction and so we might have to attend two or three auctions to source one batch. The slaves were then warehoused at Slaves r Us awaiting delivery instructions from Carlos. The auctions were beginning to reflect the authorities' new law enforcement policies and many of the slaves were now teenagers who had fallen foul of the law for relatively low-grade offences such as shoplifting, drunk driving, damage to public property and the like. And of course there were many offenders who were there because of drugs. Not only street pushers of hard drugs but also kids who were selling small amounts of weed to their peers. I had informed Kenny what we were looking for and very often he would draw my attention to a slave who I might have passed by. Very often he was on the mark. Whenever we saw a slave which interested us Kenny would hop up on the platform and subject the slave to as humiliating an inspection as possible. Of course we had to ensure the slave was not under-dicked. After the auction, I completed the necessary paperwork and arranged payment; then we would draw the truck up to the loading bay and Kenny would hustle the slaves on to the truck with a great deal of shouting and liberal use of his short whip. That was the start of Kenny's reign of harassment which continued until the slaves were handed over to Carlos's people. Even while the slaves were warehoused at Slaves r Us, he assumed responsibility for them and kept them apart from the other stock. When we took delivery of the slaves they had been stripped of clothing and fitted with temporary collars; however they were not processed any further on site. We signed a declaration that the slaves were for export and thus the authorities waived the requirement that they be tattooed with the official slave identification numbers. At the handing over of the very first batch of slaves, both Kenny and I were present and I was surprised to see Carlos there as well. He looked over the slaves we had procured and, I am pleased to say, expressed his satisfaction with them. I introduced Kenny to Carlos and Kenny later opined that Carlos appeared to be "a very cool customer". Things became a matter of routine after that and, once the slaves had been purchased and warehoused, I left matters in Kenny's hands. He controlled the stock while they were warehoused and arranged for their ultimate handing over in person to Carlos's representatives. To be continued..
