Mariner23502@hotmail.com * * * * * * Chapter #32 "Neither Robert or Devon?" Stu said, standing in the bedroom doorway, a puzzled look on his face. "You better sit down while I fix us a drink Stu. I've got a long story to tell." "And you need a little liquid courage for the telling of it?" "Not really but you might." "If your going to be telling me you met an old flame, you better make it a double." He said sitting down. "Its nothing like that Stu." I said handing him a Jack Daniels and water. It didn't take very long to tell the story of Kyle Marx and Brian Dickson. Dickson being bi-sexual and Marx screwing him we already knew about but we didn't know about their connection with Mattie and his friends. Stu sat quietly, listening and sipping his drink looking more stunned the longer I talked and I hadn't even mentioned DD. "You're going to pay this Mattie $3million Clyde? It sounds like blackmail to me." "Yeah, it does but I know Mattie and his friends and he wouldn't ask me if he wasn't in deep shit Stu and his friends don't play around. Remember what Hardison said about Dickson & Marx? Dickson didn't show up for the hearing and Marx has disappeared. I've got a hunch and if you think about it for a minute you'll understand why they aren't around." Stu sat with an incredulous look on his face. The more he thought about what I had said, the wider his eyes opened and I could see what I had said was sinking in. He took a lingering swallow from his glass. "Clyde, I hope you aren't saying what I think you are? I can't believe anything like that would happen." "I am and it does Stu. You don't get in bed with those kinds of guys and think you can fuck with them and cause trouble. Remember Jimmy Hoffa? He tried it and he hasn't been found yet and probably never will be. It's been rumored that he is part of the foundations of the Giant's Stadium. Dickson a small time lawyer and Marx a slick union organizer got in over their heads and you and I coming on the scene made it worse." "What in the hell did we have to do with it?" Stu exclaimed his beautiful blue eyes wide open. "Stop and think for a minute Stu. Mattie didn't know who you were when you came on board the ship to see me and he didn't know how we were involved with Uncle Sam's estate. Dickson met Marx in New York and he sold Marx a bill of goods and Marx sold the same load of crap too Mattie. Dickson might not have known where the money came from but being greedy, he didn't really care. He should have for sure. It was a vicious circle and Mattie was involved as an in-between man but that makes no difference where the mob is concerned. As far as they are concerned, Mattie made a mistake that cost them money." "If you pay them this time, what's going to stop them from coming back for more?" "Nothing Stu if you want to look at it that way. The big reason there won't be any more trouble is the mob does not like publicity. They don't like federal and state authorities looking into their operations, it costs them too much money. Dickson and Marx are small fish and after a little stink it will move from the front page and get buried in the middle. Mattie is President of his local and the ILA would have a hard time explaining anything that might suddenly happen to the President of the biggest ILA local on this coast. We pay the $3mil, the big bosses aren't out any money, Mattie owes us and everything slowly dies out." "Okay but who is coming up from downstairs?" "A young man whose name is Dennis Darlington but he uses his initials, DD. He was with Mattie and while we were talking Mattie told me his old man had kicked him out for being gay. DD's old man caught him in bed with some other kid and he beat both of them almost killing the other kid. DD took a pretty good beating but worse than that, he doesn't have any place to live or much of a future." I said a little sheepishly. "And you think we should take him back with us to Lincoln?" Stu said grinning. "I don't see any reason why not Stu. He has no one else he can turn too, right now he's just another orphan." "Have you talked with him about it?" "No, I was going to talk with you first. If we agreed, I was going to let Mattie know tomorrow but right now, DD being here is a surprise to me." * * * * * * * * There was a tentative knock at the door just as we finished talking and Stu looked at me with an impish grin on his face. "The Orphan has arrived Clyde." "Yeah you devil and your sitting there like a cat about to be fed." I said leaning over and kissing him, hearing another light rap on the door and his soft moan. "There is only one thing I want and it isn't outside the door." Stu whispered running his hand over my ass as I moved away. Glancing back at Stu I felt a strong urge in my loins, cursing the luck and wondering why DD was here. * * * * * * * * DD stood outside of the door, a sad apprehensive look on his face. His eyes shifted from left too right and he had the frightened manner of a foal that had lost his mother. He was wearing the same clothes I had seen him in earlier, worn jeans, a thin cream colored jacked with a faded black t-shirt underneath it. His gym shoes were well worn and he was shuffling his feet back and forth nervously. I couldn't see him that well in the Pier's End but standing in front of me in the well lit corridor I could see he was a clean cut well developed youngster and even wearing a jacket you could see he had broad well muscled shoulders. His hair was golden and neatly trimmed. Even with the nervous look in his eyes there was a look of self-assurance in their gray depths. He looked direct into my eyes and inhaled deeply. "Mr. Hampton. I'm DD, we met briefly a little earlier." "Yeah DD, I remember. Come on in, meet Stewart Ricksford my partner." He was still a little nervous when he walked into the room and as I closed the door I heard Stu. "DD, its nice meeting you. How about a beer or maybe a Coke? Clyde and I were just talking about you, come on in, take a seat." When I turned I saw the broad smile on Stu's face as he shook hands with DD. "I'll have a Miller Lite if its okay. I don't drink very often but I'd like to have a beer. You and Mr. Hampton were just talking about me?" He said sitting in one of the two leather easy chairs. "Nothing bad DD, just the problems you were having but I guess you could say that's bad. It surprised me when the desk clerk said you were asking for me. Did something happen after I left?" "Yeah, pretty much. After you left, Mr. DiAgistino told me that there might be a chance I could go with you too Nebraska if I wanted to and you would take me. He said you were going to call him about it tomorrow but before he could tell me anything else, my dad came in the bar." He said, accepting the beer Stu held out to him. "Your dad didn't do any thing to you did he DD?" Stu asked with an anxious tone in his voice. "No but I could tell he was drinking from the way he was slurring his words and knocked over a couple of chairs. Pete started to stop him but Mr.DiAgistino told him to leave him alone. I've seen my dad drink before and get drunk but not like this. He calls me a fucking faggot and he didn't do nothing wrong to have a queer son. When he started cussing and calling me names Mr. DiAgistino told Pete to take me to the "Y" but I asked Pete if he would take me where he had taken you Mr. Hampton. I don't know what happened to my dad but it's not my fault that I'm gay. Mom and dad didn't make me this way but dad hollered he didn't want no faggot son and for me to get the fuck out of his life." DD said and I could tell from the way his eyes shined, he was straining to hold back from crying. I sat looking at him for a few minutes, stunned and remembering what Mattie had told me about his dad finding out about him being gay and the way he reacted, almost killing the other kid. Darlington had run'-ins with some of the guys at the docks and even though DD's old man was not well liked, he was ILA and the guys would over look his meanness as long as no one was seriously hurt. When tears started slowly rolling down his cheeks Stu looked at me before sitting on the arm of DD's chair and putting his arms around his shoulders he pulled his head against his hip stroking his hair. After a few more minutes Stu looked at me and leaning down he spoke to DD. "Do you want to go with us too Lincoln DD?" Stu asked softly. "Yes sir, but maybe you won't take me now. I don't have a job or any money." "You left out that your gay Denny don't forget that. I'm not sure Clyde and I can really handle that but we'll try." Stu said looking at me, a twinkle in his eye. "I don't think there will be any problems DD and Stu is pulling your leg about being gay. "I know he is. I could tell you and he are lovers right off. I've never met anyone like you guys though. Mr. DiAgistino might be mad at Pete and me though. He don't like for people not doing what he says." "Don't worry about that, I'll talk with Mattie. How about your things, I think Mattie said they were at the Pier's End." "Yeah bu. . . . . . ." He started to say before Stu cut him off. "He won't need that stuff Clyde. If we are still going to see Phil at the After Midnight we can take care of getting Denny some decent things." "We might as well, did you get a chance to call Phil while I was gone?" I asked. "I thought we would surprise him. He doesn't know you bought the place." Stu said as there was another knock at the door. "That must be the sandwiches we ordered. You hungry Denny?" "Yes sir, I only had a hamburger earlier with Pete." The evening was still held another surprise for us when Kyle the bartender we had met downstairs in the lounge stood in the doorway with a sandwich tray. "I was going off duty Mr. Hampton so they asked if I would drop this off. Where shall I put the tray?" Kyle asked walking into the room. He almost dropped the tray when he saw DD sitting in a chair and Stu sitting on the arm. "Put it over on the bar Kyle. Do you know DD?" I asked, watching his reaction. "We know each other Mr. Hampton. It kind of surprised me when I saw him here with you. DD was a couple of years behind me in school His father and mine worked together on the docks." "Small world isn't it Kyle?" I said. "I worked the docks with Denny's dad. What was your dad's name, I might have known him?" "Same as mine, but I haven't seen him in over a year. We haven't gotten along very well since mom died." He said. "Your dad was Kyle Marx, that would make you a junior?" I said, looking over at Stu. "Yeah but I don't use it except on my drivers license or when I have to sign something. The ILA transferred him too New Jersey right after mom died. I had a pretty good job here so I stayed in Baltimore. He came back for a while and then gone again. Somewhere out west I think." "You haven't heard from him since then Kyle?" I asked. "Nah, not like I will. Sooner or later he will pop up, he always does. He used to disappear for weeks when Mom was living and we didn't know where he was. He'd always tell some cock-a-mamie story about being on union business but when mom found rubbers in his pants she knew better. He didn't even have time for her when she was sick. Probably shacked up with some whore." Kyle said and we could hear the hurt in his voice. "If you're off duty Kyle, why don't you join us for a beer and a couple of the sandwiches you brought up?" "I appreciate the offer Mr. Hampton but it's late and I better be going. I've got some things that need doing. I'll take a rain check on the beer for later though." "You got it. Stu and I'll be here a few more days I think before our business is finished." "Kyle, could I stay with you tonight?" "Sure DD but I thought. . . . . ?" Kyle said looking back and forth between Stu, DD and I. "If you're thinking what I know you are Kyle, you're only half right. I told you I worked with Denny's old man, I did. But Denny has a problem and when I was at the Pier's End he saw me. He needs a little help and we were talking about it when you came in." A heavy silence fell between us for a few minutes. Stu was listening as this drama unfolded. Kyle looked at DD still sitting with Stu's arms on his shoulders and then at me. I could see in his eyes he was having trouble correlating what he was seeing and hearing. "I'll have that beer now Mr. Hampton if its alright?" "It is and stop calling me Mr.. The names Clyde and that's my other half, Stewart Ricksford - - Stu, sitting with his arms around Denny. We are gay if you haven't figured it out already. "I kinda got the idea from overhearing some of what you were saying downstairs in the bar. Your voice does carry Mrerrrrrr. . . Stu." "Me?" Stu exclaimed sitting upright." "When you get excited, you do raise your voice a notch or two Stu." I said. "I guess maybe I do." He said a little sheepishly. "DD, did your old man find out about you and Les?" "Worse than that Kyle, he caught us in bed. He beat Leslie silly and then he kicked us both out of the house. Mr. DiAgistino has helped out some but I gotta find someplace to live and a job or somewhere." "Mattie is good people, he'll help you out if he can but your only 18 and he can't get you in the union unless your 21. Maybe we can get you a busboy job here at the hotel and you could stay with me until things get straightened out." "Denny might be going to Nebraska with us Kyle. We've asked him and the offer is still open but he hasn't said if he wanted to or not." Stu said looking over at me. I could see the twinkle in Stu's eyes. He looked into mine and I could almost hear him asking me if it was okay. "We have bought an old hotel in Lincoln Kyle and we will be renovating it. All we are waiting for are the architect plans. The interior is being stripped now and there will be plenty of work. It will be completely gutted and re-built interior and the shell will be modernized. Most of us will be living on a farm we have not far from Lincoln." "Can we think about it and let you know Mr. Hampton. Kyle doesn't live that far from the Pier's End and after we pick my stuff up we can meet you here if that's okay." "I've got a better idea. What time do you go on duty tomorrow Kyle?" "I'm off tomorrow and the next day Clyde." "Even better. How about Denny staying with you tonight and tomorrow you guys meet us here for breakfast. Stu wants to take Denny to the After Midnight so forget about his other things. You can meet Stu's brother Robert and his other half Devon. We can talk some more and take it from there. How's that suit you?" "Great." Denny said looking at Kyle. There was a glint in both of their eyes. * * * * * * * * After they left and I locked the door, Stu put his arms around me looking into my eyes. "You liked doing that didn't you? He asked tightening his arms. "Kind of, yeah, I did babe. We have all of this money, a farm and a ranch - - -lets do something with it. Denny is alone and you can see there is something between him and Kyle. Did you notice Denny said - - "can we talk it over" and Kyle didn't correct him." "Oh my heavens!!" Stu exclaimed. "I'm married to a gay philanthropist and marriage counselor. I love ever ounce of you." He said his eyes sparkling. Kissing him was always a thrill and I felt his cock starting to harden between us pressing against mine. He leaned back pressing his pelvis tighter, grinning at me. Pulling his arms from around my waist and leading him to the bedroom I quipped, "You mean you love every inch don't you." "All of you is even better." He said pushing me backwards and we both fell on the bed. * * * * * * * * TBC
