The Cabin by the Lake Chapter 3 Two days after Kevin and Jim left for home, Dennis received a shock of his life. Terry and Stan had a party of ten coming. Dennis had planned to join them but at the last minute he received a booking for a family who did not have reservations and wanted a full week. Stan and Terry had another booking, back to back with the first one. They would not be able to take both and also include the family. So Dennis was the only one left that could take the family, which included a mom, dad, and son, who was a college sophomore. Terry and Stan though he could handle this one all by himself. They were going to help him with all the planning and prep work. "Dennis, why don't you take your guests into the Mink Lake Basin. You are very familiar with this area and there is a lot to see and do. As you know this is a photographers paradise with lots of birds, animals, and outstanding scenery. Take a couple of the small rubber rafts and do some fishing. Remember these are city folks and you can make this a vacation that they will always remember. They are here to see the "wild" country. As you know there are many, many little lakes with in a very short distance from Doris lake which is a very short ride. I think that you would want to make your base camp here and go out each day. Be sure to give each person a map of the area." Terry advised. Dennis spent two days getting set for his virgin outing by himself. He was able to convenience himself that this was `a piece of cake'. When his guest arrived, he was glad that he had packed two small tents, one for John and Jennie Edwards, and the other one for himself and the son, Kyle, who was one gorgeous hunk. Dennis got a tent in his pants just from shaking his hand. Dennis loaded three pack mules and they were off. The Edwards had never ridden horses before. So Dennis picked out three horses that even the youngest child could ride and control. At 2:30, Doris Lake was reached. Dennis announced that this would be the sight of the base camp. He had John and Jennie clear a place for a campfire and put some rocks in the center to form a fire pit. When that chore was completed they were given the task of collecting fire wood. Kyle and Dennis unloaded the packs and hobbled the horses and mules so that they could graze but not travel very far.. Now the tents had to be set up. Dennis put the sleeping tents with a large space between them to give everyone a little privacy. There was one large wall tent placed between the two and would be used to store all the food and other camping gear. This could also be used for cooking and shelter if it should rain. Camp was finally set up and there were several hours of daylight left. "I have some inflatable rubber rafts and a foot pump. There is also some fishing gear if anyone would like to fishing," Dennis commented. "I'd love to go fishing. I haven't been fishing since I was about 10. I hope that you are good at untangling lines because I would almost bet that I will get at least one bird's nest," Laughed Kyle. "If you get your line all tangled up, I will throw you, pole and line overboard," Laughed Dennis. "I think Jennie and I will just row around the lake and enjoy the peace and tranquility. It has been ages since we were this close to nature and we would like to lie back and soak it all in.. We may take you up on the fishing at a later time," expressed John. . After a couple of hours, the boys had enough fish for dinner. They kept only the larger ones and released the rest. The boys were able to catch and release because they had used hooks with no barbs. They rowed over to where John and Jennie were sitting on the beach soak up the sun rays. "Kyle and I are going back to camp and clean the fish that we caught and get dinner ready. It will be ready in about an hour. So see you then," Dennis said. "I feel like I am the queen. All I have to do is just sit around and have someone pamper me. Do we get to order from the menu?" Jennie asked smiling from ear to ear. "Afraid not. You have to eat what is served or go hungry," Dennis said joking. "See you later." "Jennie, I think coming here was the best thing that we could have done. Have you notice how relaxed Kyle is. I was becoming very worried about him after his break up with his lover. I was afraid that he would turn to drugs or something. Dennis is just what he needed. Have you seen the way that they look at each other and they both have a tent in their pants," John said. "John, how do you feel about Kyle looking at men with lust in his eyes? You know what they will be doing in the tent. Did you notice where Dennis set it up? It is very evident that they would like a little privacy," Jennie asked. "You know Jennie, I have noticed this coming on for a long time. If you remember, Kyle's lover was a man. I got this from the grapevine and not Kyle. I can accept either a man or woman as long as Kyle is happy and is not being forced into something that he doesn't want. Kyle is my son and I will respect and love him no matter what!" replied John. "I am glad you feel this way. I want to offer him all my love and support. It is his life and he has to live it the way he wants to. I want him to know that he has our blessings and to be happy. Our little boy is growing into a fine young man," Jennie said with tears in her eyes. "I just find it hard to face that someday soon, he will probably be leaving for a place of his own and will be taking a soul mate." "I don't want to close any doors or burn any bridges. I would rather see him go with our blessing rather than filled with angry. If we don't accept his choice of lover, we could lose him forever. I am completely behind him one hundred percent and I don't want him to think he has to sneak around behind our backs. He may have trouble with some of the people from church and if that happens, I will be looking for a new church, one that will accept us and our life styles. I know some of the members would have an heart attack, if they knew you and I belonged to a nudist camp. Guess what, It is none of their damn business." "I think we need to sit down and discuss this with Kyle so that he doesn't develop a guilt complex. Like maybe Tonight. I would like to get him alone, somehow. Dennis is a very sweet and mature young man, so I don't think that he will be a problem." "Jennie, I think I will pull Dennis aside and talk with him and then we can have our talk with Kyle. I don't foresee a problem with either one of them. You know I would like to get out of these clothes and try to get a sunburn. Want to join me?" Grinned John. "What if someone comes down the trail and sees us?" "Since when is being seen nude is a problem? I would say that is his or her problem. They can either join us or continue on down the trail. Their choice," John replied. They both started shedding their clothes. Kyle and Dennis cleaned the trout and started getting them ready to cook. A generous pat of butter was put on the inside of each fish. Chopped onions and garlic went in on top of the butter. Each fish received a good dusting of pepper and a pinch of salt. Now each fish was put onto aluminum fold and about a two teaspoons of white wine were added. The edges rolled to make an air tight seam and placed on a platter to wait the cooking. This would also give the wine to soak into the fish. The neat little packages would be placed in bed of cooking coals from the fire. Dennis built a fire in the pit so that it could burn down to a good bed of coals. Now he and Kyle washed four potatoes, pricked them with a fork and rubbed a little cooking oil on the skins. The boys wrapped them in foil and placed them in the coals to start cooking because they needed more time to cook that the fish. When the potatoes were almost done, then the fish would be added so that they would all be done about the same time. Dennis put some homemade baked beans in a kettle to heat them. He also had the coffee ready to go. Now all that was left to do was prepare the tossed salad. Dennis asked Kyle to go down the lake creek and cut some willows and sharpen them on one end so they could be used to roast marshmallows later in the evening. Now all they had to do was wait until John and Jennie arrived back in camp. Dennis almost lost his upper teeth when John and Jennie walked into camp completely nude. "Dennis, we did not want to shock you , but we are nudist. If this causes a problem with you, then we will put some clothes on. Kyle, pick up you chin. It must have dropped 6 inches. You see we do have some things that you don't know about," said John. "Hey, I am ok with you being er nude. I would join you but I would have a hard on the whole time we are up here." Dennis said shyly. "Mom and Dad, I am with Dennis and no you are not embarrassing me. I have known for a couple of years that you were nudist. The Adams slipped one day and I found out," Kyle admitted. Jennie responded, "Boys, we have seen men with a hard-on before. Most of the new members have one for a couple of weeks and guess what we have seen the tents in yours pants since we arrived. So if you don't want to joins us, that is fine. We just don't want to put a lot of pressure on you!" "Kyle, What do you think? I am game if you are! Only one thing, we have to dress to eat," said Dennis. "That is easy for us because that is one of our rules also. So I take it clothing is going to be optional," John declared. Dennis stated, "Just one more thing and then it's off with the clothes. I would suggest at least a pair of jeans when we are on the horses. I tried riding once bare ass naked. I had blisters and heat rash first class. It hurt like hell and I don't want to go through all of that again. It took days to heal. One other thing, you might want to keep your clothes handy because when the sun starts to go down the mosquitoes will come out and they are big and vicious !" Soon there were five nude campers. Dennis and Kyle spent a little time eye balling each other and grinning. Both liked what they saw. "I think I am going to take my bow-saw (Swede saw or bucksaw) and go get a good supply of wood cut. You can go through a lot of wood at times especially when the mosquitoes come out as it starts to cool down a bit. It can get rather chilly because of the elevation. I have several extra blankets because before morning it will be cold . We are high up in the mountains and may even have a little ice in our water by morning even through it is summer," Dennis informed the little group. "Kyle, why don't you stay here. You mom and I want to discuss something with you." John said. "Sure thing! Dennis, I will be out later to help you with the wood." "Not a problem. Later." Kyle and his parents had a nice long conversation and finally Kyle said he really should go help Dennis. John and Jennie said that they would help, unless Kyle wanted some time alone with Dennis. "Actually, I was going to help Dennis. I am sure that he could use a little extra help. There is one thing that I wanted to talk to Dennis about but I want the two of you to be include, so tonight around the campfire, I can do it then." Said Kyle. They left to gather wood and with the five of them working they had enough to last several days. John cut dead lodgepole pine( jack pine) trees up to 6 or 7inches in diameter into 18 inch lengths. Dennis used an axe to split them . This was actually an easy job because dry lodgepole splits with the first swing of the axe. Kyle and his mother carried the split wood into camp and stacked it between two standing trees. Finally Dennis called a halt to the work detail and put dinner on to cook. "I know of a hot spring not to far from here if anyone is interested in getting some of the dirt and grime off before dinner which can be cooking while we are gone." "Lead the way Buddy, I all for that." Jennie said laughing. "You had better slip into some clothes because the mosquitoes are thick around the pool. Someone has dammed a little creek and dug a ditch to take water from the hot spring and run it into the pool of water behind the dam. The water is like hot bath water. I think I could soak in all day. We can soak for awhile and the get out and soap down. There is a bucket we can use to rinse each other. We don't want the soap to get into the lake. The forest service has told us that by the time the soap leeches down to the lake, it is almost entirely environmentally safe. I have bio-degradable soap for everyone to use. All you need are towels. So much for the lectures, let's go and get a bath." When the campers got back to camp, Dennis checked the dinner and it was ready to eat. He put a pot of coffee on to perk and stirred the beans. The aroma was enough to torture everyone and make them very hungry. Dennis put some paper plates in wicker container for support and handed one to each person. Soon the fish and potatoes were unwrapped, The potatoes were buttered, salted and peppered. Each person helped themselves to the beans, salad and hot garlic French bread. "I bet this is the only day that we will eat like this. I know dehydrated food is on tap for the rest of the week." Said Jennie. "Jennie, tonight is only the beginning. See those two metal containers over there. They were specially made and you would not believe their insulation capabilities with the dry ice that is inside them. They will keep meat and fresh produce for a week of very hot weather. You will only be limited to my cooking abilities," Dennis explained. "You have to be kidding. How could it get any better than tonight's meal. The only thing missing is the dessert," teased Jennie. "You had better not tell me that you have ice cream in one of those boxes because if you do, I will kick you in the butt for lying." "Mom, you had better be careful or you might just end up eating crow all week" chuckled Kyle. "No, I am sorry to say no ice cream. I have something better than ice cream! So when every one has finished, then the surprise." Said Dennis. "Kyle, remember those sticks you cut this afternoon? Why don't you get them and I will get the rest of stuff. Jenny and John, how long has it been since you had s'mores (smores) cooked over a hot bed of coals? "Dennis, I haven't those since I was in girl scouts and at camp. If you tell me that is what we are going to make, I am going to kiss you. I love those things with a passion," beamed Jennie. "I won't kiss you but I will let Kyle take my place. Man, it has been a long time and I can think of no better way to end the day!" John said with a very pleased look. "I really don't know what you are talking about but from Mom and Dad's reaction, s'mores must be good." "Son, you are in for a very special treat. Just be sure not to burn them. If they catch on fire, blow on them for all you are worth, unless you want to eat a hard chuck of charcoal," John said grinning from ear-to-ear. Dennis opened a bag of marshmallows and a box graham crackers. These he placed on the make shift table along with 5 Hershey bars. "OK, start cooking." Sounds of joy filled the entire lakeside and forest. Finally every one had their fill. "Come here young man and get the kiss I promised you," commanded Jennie. "I changed my mind, You can have a kiss from me also," laughed John. "Hey, you had better save a kiss for me," said Kyle. "You're next in line. So pucker up!" Dennis walked over to Kyle making sure to keep his back to John and Jennie. He took Kyle in his arms and planted a big kiss on his lips and at the same time taking his hand and cupping the big bulge in Kyle's jeans. Kyle didn't know how to react so he just stood there as Dennis returned to the fire and sat down on the log. Kyle came over and sat down next to Dennis. "Mom and Dad, I told you earlier that I had some things I wanted to tell you and that I wanted Dennis to hear also. During my freshman year, I met a man, Dan, who was two years older than me and moved in with him. When I told you that I had broken up with my partner, It was him and not a girl." "He became very jealous. Hed physically and mentally abused me. One day, I was just sitting in student union and drinking coffee with one of my classmates. He and I were just going over our notes from the previous lecture. Dan came in and saw us sitting together and came over and busted me in the mouth with his fist." "The guy I was with was on the college wrestling team and knew how to defend himself. He proceed to punch my room mate several times. Some one called college security and they came and restrained my roommate. I signed a complaint and he was hauled off to jail." "The next day the judge issued a restraining order against him and had a policeman come with him so he could get his things from the dorm room." "I thought that this was the end. Dan called several time a day and I finally just turned my cell phone off. He then started calling the dorm office and leaving messages for me. I became a complete basket case and didn't know what to do." "The guy that came to my defense, took me to his apartment so I could finish the term. He was in several of my classes and would walk me to and from class. He was just a good friend and as straight as they come." "I have decided that I am going to lay out of school next year and get a job. I just need some time to get it all together again and then I want to go to a different college. I don't want Dan to know where I am or what I am doing. He may be able to find your phone number, I don't know. I think you should probably get a new unlisted number. Dan is a nutcase and no telling what he is capable of doing." "Kyle, I have to agree with what you have done and your plans for the future. I knew your break-up was bad but we didn't know it was this bad. What can we do to help you over the hurdles and into a new life," asked John. "Dad, I think just having you and Mom to lean on will be all that I need. I know that I may need counseling but that can wait and I can get involved later. This trip is a godsend for me. I really appreciate it. Thanks!" "Dennis, I wanted you to hear this as well. I will be completely honest with you. You caught my eye from the very beginning. I have been afraid to look at another guy, afraid that I would find another Dan. You are different and as kind as the day is long. You are just the complete opposite of him. I don't think you have a mean bone in your entire body. This week is going to be the best medicine for me. I think I can join the world of the living with you help." "Kyle, I feel the same toward you. Every time I look at you my heart skips a beat and I have lust for you now because I walk around with a big tent in the front of my pants. Sorry, Jennie. I guess I shouldn't be talking this way in front of you. I know that you have notice my tent already." "Dennis, Sure I have notice that the two of you have had a hard-on from the first time we meet back at the lodge. That does not bother me one bit. At least you two are honest and are not trying to cover your feelings up. All I can say is have fun and make sure no one gets hurt and be safe. John and I are here for the both of you if you need to talk. If you want my opinion you can have it free of charge," Jennie said. "Kyle, I inherited this operation from my mother and I have been here since the beginning of summer. My father and his male friend were here until Dad broke his leg. Both of them are teachers and wanted to return to the classroom. Your mom, dad, and you are the first ones I have taken out on my own. Now I bet you are wondering what is the meaning of all of this?" "Soon summer will come to an end and then we start with the winter program. I would like to offer you a job. Together we can learn the winter operation. I have two employees who have been running this operation and training me at the same time. I own the bed and breakfast where you stayed, the pack animals and ranch where the animals are taken for winter. Remember the big house you passed on the way to the bed and breakfast, that is my house. I would like to have you move in and share it with me. So you see, I can find lots for you to do. "I have satellite internet and have signed up to take college classes this fall. You could join me and we could get you your own system." "I don't want an answer now but I have an offer on the table and I hope that you will discuss this with your folks and give me a reply at the end of your stay. If any of you have any questions, I hope that I have an answer if not, my two managers will certainly help me out." "Dennis, aren't you a little young to be taking on all this by yourself?" Asked John. TBC
