Date: Wed, 2 Oct 2002 20:25:01 EDT From: Thunderwht@aol.com Subject: Dennis The Adoption -- part 9 We all went to Vermont to have our ceremony. It would have been nice to have our parents and siblings with us. But as you know, our family's had nothing to do with us. Mike and I have our own family, and were very happy. Dennis stood with me as best man, and Danny stood for mike. It was a simple ceremony; mike and I vowed our love to each other. We exchanged rings. We were now a legal married couple, well in Vermont that is. We had booked a beautiful bed and bath for every one. We spent a few days enjoying our family. We returned home after a wonderful time. Diane had Dennis stay at their house, to give mike and I some privacy. Diane told me that one day I will pay her back in the same way Diane told me that our wedding gave her and Jim some ideas of a wedding for them selves. Diane asked me not to tell the boys. I was happy for Diane; she has been alone for a long time now. Jim is good man he loves Diane and Danny. He is ok with the boys being lovers. Mike and I spent a quiet not of passion and lovemaking. I had my true love, how lucky I was to find him. Most gay men never do find the love of their life. And I had a son too. This is a gay mans dream that I was living. A few months later Diane and Jim made it official they where getting engaged. Danny was happy for his mom. We were all happy for them. Diane wanted for Danny to finish high school before getting married. Since they would be moving to a new home on the other side of town, she wanted Danny and Dennis to be together, she did not want to do anything to cause problems between the boys. What a great woman, putting her wedding off like that for our sons. So things were mostly good around here. The time went by so fast my boy was becoming a man. He was becoming a very handsome young man. Our boys were making plans for college, and they will be going to the same college. Since they had to use the dorms their first year, they went to the local college so they did not have to do the dorm thing. After that they would transfer to the college they really wanted to go to and be able to live off campus. Tell me that was not planned a long time ago, I told you they were smart. Two weeks after the boys graduated Diane and Jim were married. They went on a month long honeymoon. Danny stayed with his boyfriend at our home. Dennis and Danny will always be our boys. I loved them both. Our boys got jobs for the summer and were going to work while they went to college in order to have money saved for the next year's apartment. Diane and I will be helping them with the costs. Diane and Jim returned from their honeymoon. Danny asked me if he could live with use, he wanted his mom and Jim to have the house to themselves. I was happy to tell him yes. The boys were 18 now. Fine young men, Dennis and Danny were going to take law. Our boys wanted to become lawyers and hopefully judges one day. We did a great job with the boys, we raised them well, and we taught them many things from our life experiences. Diane and Jim come over all the time; we were one great big family. At one of our dinners mike had a surprise for our boys, he handed them the deed to the townhouse in Florida. He hoped that they could stay there while going to college. Mike had the deed signed over to the boys. Mike just made two young men very happy. I was so happy I married mike, my man mike. God that sounded so good to me. Diane and Jim moved into their new home. The boys went off to college. Mike and I were now alone. The house was quiet for the first time in years. The boys both became lawyers, and are still together 15 years later. And they have a 12- year-old son that they adopted. They have their own law firm now. Diane and Jim moved to Florida to be closer to the boys. Mike and I are planning to do the same. We were down there so much in the past years. We decided to move. We are still very close family and now we are grandparents. I have been blessed to have such wonderful people in my life. I hope you enjoyed the story...
