CHAPTER 6 Sunday morning rolled around Robbie and I were still laying in bed when all of a sudden the front door was busted open. What the hell is going on I thought. About that time 4 armed men came into the bedroom. Oh we got a couple of rich fags here. They had hoods over their heads and quickly overpowered us and tied our hands behind our backs. What are you guys doing here and what do you want with us. Their leader said. You got plenty of money. We want our share. You'll never get away with this. Oh I think we will because your little fag boyfriend will be coming with us. No you can't. What do you want. We want 2 million dollars apiece. You've got to be kidding. First off this is Sunday and second no bank has that kind of money on hand. Well we will just have to stay here until you figure out a way to get it then. Look I don't know how long you guys think this will take. But it will be several days before any bank can get that kind of money. We got plenty of time, but you got till Tuesday morning to have it. Or we will kill both of you and burn this place to the ground. Sounds like you guys have this figured out. I need a phone to call my banker. Do you think we're stupid. This is Sunday remember. I have my bankers home number. And if you want your money I had better get started. They finally decided if they were going to get any money this was the way it was going to happen. The leader told one of the guys to get the phone. They untied my hands, but had two guns on me as I dialed. I called Pattie instead of the bank manager. Hello. Hi Mrs. Corrigan this is Jay Johnson. I'm sorry to bother you on a Sunday morning but I have a little bit of a strange request. I need 8 million dollars cash by Tuesday morning. Pattie is no dummy and next she said. Jay are you guys alone. No Mrs. Corrigan there's no problem. I'm going to an exclusive art auction and I need cash money for the purchase. You're in trouble aren't you. Yes I know it will be hard to do. But a certified check or a letter of credit won't work in this case. I got it Jay. I'll call Trent, he'll know what to do. Ok Mrs. Corrigan I'll call you tomorrow morning. And I hung up the phone. I told our captors that the bank president said she would try and to call her tomorrow midmorning. You better hope she comes through with the money. Meanwhile at Patties house. Ben get out of bed right now. Jay and Robbie are in trouble. What's going on. Jay just called me and was calling me Mrs. Corrigan and wanting 8 million dollars cash by Tuesday morning. Oh fuck. I'll get Fred and we will go hide in the woods and see if we can see what going on. Well I'm calling Trent like I told him I would do. Pattie didn't have Trent's number so she called the police department. Communications how can I help you. Is officer Trent Jones working today. No this is his day off. I need to get in touch with him. Can you give me his home number it's an emergency. I'm sorry I can't give an officer's home number out. Sergeant this is a matter of life and death. Maybe two people's lives. I can't give you the number, but I can patch you through to him, but I will have to stay on the line. That's fine do it. Hold on a minute I'll patch you through. Ring, ring Trent answered with a sleepy Hello. Officer Jones this is the communications sergeant I have a lady on the line who needs to speak to you, says it's a matter of life and death. Put her on. Go ahead ma'am. Trent it's Pattie. Jay just called here calling me Mrs. Corrigan and saying he needed 8 million dollars cash before Tuesday morning. Something is wrong. Oh shit. I warned him about something like this but I never thought something might happen so soon. You can believe Robbie is with him too and probably in just as much danger. Sergeant are you still on the line. Yes. Call the police chief and tell him there is a very good possibility that Jay Johnson is being held for ransom and then call the Highway Patrol and have them put their special response team on standby. I'm on my way in. Who is this guy Johnson. Don't worry about that. The chief knows all about him. Alright I'll make the calls. Hurry Trent, Pattie added. We'll get them. Trent, Ben and a friend of his are going through the woods to see if they can see anything over there. Ok but tell them to stay out of sight and let us know what they find. I will. Bye. Ring, ring, ring. Chief Callahan's residence. This is the communications sergeant I need to speak to the chief, it's an emergency. Dad telephone. Chief Callahan. Chief this is the communications officer. Trent Jones said to call you and tell you a Mr. Jay Johnson is being held hostage and to also call the Highway Patrol SRT and put them on alert. Do it. I'll be in in 10 minutes. Also call in all off duty officers. Ok sir, consider it done. Meanwhile Ben and Fred drove over close to Jay's place and parked on a side road. They made their way through the woods and with the help of a pair of binoculars started checking things out. Fred there are two strange cars at Jay's place. And I know just about everyone he knows. And those cars don't fit. What kind are they. One looks like a blue Honda and the other is a brown Ford. Can you see the license numbers. No we will have to move around to the side a little more. HOLD IT the front door is opening. One of the gunmen opened the door to make sure no one was around. Hey that guy has a rifle. And he's not visiting with a ski mask on is he. Nope. Let's just stay here a minute. And stay down. Ok he's back in. let's move around to the side. After making their way through the woods to get a better view. Fred write this down. Ok. The Honda's license is 25GR782 and the Ford's is 67JH 952 Ok let's get back where we can keep an eye on what's going on. Besides I have no phone service right here. They moved back to where they were deeper in the woods and could still see both doors on the house. I'm calling the police and giving them the information. Ring, ring. Communications. Officer Jones please. One moment. Trent Jones. Trent it's Ben I'm in the woods by Jay's place there are two strange cars there and a guy walked out and looked around. He had a rifle and a ski mask on. Oh fuck. I got makes and license numbers. Give them to me. After giving Trent the information. You guys did good now get the hell out of there before someone sees you. Forget it man we're staying until you guys get here. Hell they might take them somewhere else. Ok but stay out of sight. I'll call you back when we get there. I'll go run a check on these cars. Ok we will be here. Trent had an officer run the information on the cars while he talked to the chief. What's going on Jones. Well it looks like it's true. The lady's husband who called me just called and told me two strange cars were at his place, and that an armed guy with a ski mask on walked out took a look around and went back in. We're running the plates now. Fuck. We'd better call the dam feds on this. If nothing else to cover all our asses. What's the status on the SRT. They're on their way here. Good. The chief picked up his phone. Tommy get me Tampa FBI headquarters. Ring, ring, ring. Federal Bureau of Investigation Special Agent Robinson This is Chief Callahan up in Dood City we have a hostage situation. A group of armed gunmen are holding one probably two of our citizens and want 8 million dollars by Tuesday. Highway Patrol SRT is on their way. Ok chief I'll alert the agent in charge. He will be in contact with you shortly. Is there any one on the scene. Only a couple of amateurs that are hidden and giving us information. We just found out about this 20 minutes ago. We do have officers on the way. And I'm on my way to the scene as soon as I get off the phone. Ok sir we will be in touch. Bye. Tommy I need 20 officers in here right now and call fire and rescue I need at least two ambulances standing by. Right away sir. The group of officers assembled and were informed of what was going on. After getting assault weapons and body Armor they headed to the scene, and set up a command post about a half mile away and out of sight of the house. Jones call the guy that's in the woods and have him come over here. Ok Ben it's Trent we're out here on a side road and the chief wants to talk to you. Ok we will be there in about 10 minutes. Bye. Chief he will be here in 10. Ok get a hold of the SRT and tell them where we are. Ok. SRT is 10 minutes out. Good. Ben and Fred made their way to the command post and told the chief what they saw. About the time they were done the SRT team got there and they had to go back over it again for them. The captain of the SRT team wanted to know if anyone had been in that house before that could draw a floor plan. Both Ben and Trent spoke up and said they had been there. After drawing a rough floor plan the captain thought for a minute. First we need to get a couple of guys with the thermal viewing scopes to get a look inside. Then we should go in and get them. They won't expect anything to happen this fast. And the longer this goes on the more risk there is to everyone. I agree the chief said. This guy is worth well over 100 million dollars. If the bad guys figure out what he's worth the chances are this will go on a lot longer. Ben can you take two of my guys to where you were hiding. Sure. Ok take them there then I want you to come right back here. I think I have a plan. Ben took two of the SRT guys to where he and Fred were watching the house. Dam this is a good spot we couldn't have done better if we scouted it out ourselves. Glad you like it. I'm out of here. Ben made his way back to the command post. By this time the surveillance team was set up. Captain, we have 4 subjects with what looks like rifles and two subjects that look like they are tied up. Anyone else. No that's it. Good stand by. Ok so we only have 4 bad guys. Ok we need a little diversion of some kind. If we can get them separated we have a good chance of getting the gunmen and not getting anyone else hurt. Where are they in the house? Ben asked. Unit one. Where is everyone. Ok the two that are tied up look like they may be in a bedroom. And the four bad guys if you can believe this look like they are watching TV. No shit. How stupid can they be. Well these guys aren't too bright it appears. Chief I just got the info on the cars. Both stolen yesterday. Well I figured that. Seems at least they thought of something. Yeah but that gave them away even more. The captain added. Hey captain Jay has a ladder next to one end of the house. Where, show me. Ben showed him where on the drawing. Unit one, do you see a ladder on the ground on the north end of the house. Stand by... Yeah Capt. There's one there alright. Where are the hostages. In the room at the end of the house the ladder is at. Good. Stand by. Ok this is what we're going to do. I'll have two guys come in from the north side where they can't be seen. Go into that room through a window and cover the hostages. Two more will cover each side. And the rest will come in the front door. Ben can you tell me what the hostages look like. I'll do better than that. My wife has a picture of one of them. Good can you get it. Sure. Ring, ring. Pattie answered. Pattie can you get a picture of Jay and bring it over to 596 and 784. They are going to go in after them. Ok I'll be there in 5-10 minutes. Bye 10 minutes she says. What about the other hostage. He's 18 about 6' maybe 160 or 170 black hair and blue eyes. Ok that's close enough. While all this was going on Jay and Robbie were tied up and locked in their bedroom. Jay why is this happening to us. Robbie you know you said you thought I had money. Yeah Well I do. I just didn't say how much. How much is it. A little over 112 million. Wow. Trent told me to get some security. But I never thought I would have to worry about anything this soon. What are we going to do. Babe I never called the banker. I called Pattie instead. If my guess is right there is a lot of cops not too far away. Trying to find a way to get us out of here. That was fast thinking. I had to do something. These guys aren't that smart. But they are more dangerous because they are stupid. I just hope this ends soon... Jay I need to tell you something. What's that Robbie. That I love you. I figured it out before my party. Robbie I think I'm falling in love with you too. But you know this is a little soon. I know. But that's how I feel. Lean over here a minute. They kissed. Not passionately. But more like an understanding between two lovers. Pattie got to the command post with a picture of Jay and gave it to the SRT captain. Then asked. What are you guys going to do about this. We have a plan worked out and are going in after them. You'd better be careful. If either one of them is hurt I'll be after you. Ben moved in and said. Pattie let them do their job. They have a good plan. Just hope for the best. The captain added. Miss I know you're concerned about your friends. We're doing everything we can to protect them. And we appreciate all the help you've given us. Now if you will excuse me we have to get moving while they are still separated. That's the safest way to do it. The captain called his men over and passed Jay's picture around and also gave them a description of Robbie. He then informed his two best men that they would make their way to the north side of the house. There is a ladder on the ground and they can go in through a window to the room where the hostages are. Get them out of the house if they can, if not protect them. The rest of the SRT team will make their way to the front of the house. When team two has the hostages secured they will move in on the bad guys. The Dood City police will be across the road in the woods providing back up. When they all had their assignments they headed out. To get in place. This took about a half hour. Command to unit one. One go. Sit rep. Hostages still in place. Bad guys still watching TV, a couple look like they are in the other end of the house. Ben heard this and said. That's another bedroom. Good. Unit one stand by. As the other groups made their way to the designated spots the chief had his men move to the woods across from the house. Unit two in position. Unit three in place. Unit four in position. Ok guys this is command stand by. Unit one are the bad guys still separated. Unit one affirmative. Ok unit two move in. They got to the side of the house and Robbie and Jay heard something outside. They looked at each other. Shhhh Robbie keep quiet, this is probably the cops. Ok Jay Team two put the ladder up to the window. Luckily the window wasn't locked and being new it opened without any sound. The team leader held his finger to his mouth giving them the signal to be quiet. He slowly went in the window picked Robbie up and handed him to the other officer. Jay being bigger had to be untied and climbed out himself. At this time five other officers went up the ladder and into the bedroom. Jay and Robbie were quickly taken to a spot behind the dozer that was still in the yard to protect them from gunfire. Quietly the leader said. Unit two to command, hostages are safe. We're in place. Ok unit two. Unit two, three, and four move in NOW. Unit three and four stormed the front door as unit two came from the bedroom. You could hear the gunfire from the command post. After a minute or two the firing stopped. Ok guys what's going on. Unit two to command. Three bad guys down one in custody. We need medics. Scene is secure. All units move in. And that they did. Pattie was right behind the medics. I saw her and said Pattie over here. Are you guys all right. Yeah we're fine. Just a little shook up. She hugged Robbie and said that must have been terrible for you. It was but really we are ok. Really Pattie we're fine. About that time Chief Callahan and the SRT captain came over. We need to talk to you guys and get statements. While it is still fresh in your heads. Hi chief, we really could use something to drink first. We haven't had anything since last night. Trent go in the house and get these two something to drink, and watch what you touch. Ok chief. We were half sitting half leaning on the tracks of the dozer when Trent came back with the drinks. Thanks Trent. Anytime, you guys ok. Yeah thanks for bringing the Calvary. A detective came over and said. Guys I really need to get your statements. People have been killed here and we need to know as much about what happened as you can tell us. Ok let's talk and get this over with. What do you want to know. What happened, start from the beginning. I related that we were woken by the door being busted open and about calling Pattie. And after that we were locked back in the bedroom but still tied up. Robbie had not been out of the bedroom since it began until the police got us out. The detective said ok is that it. That's all we know. They were watching TV most of the time. Ok. Do you have a place to stay tonight. The crime scene investigators will be here most of the day and in to the night. Pattie spoke up and said you're coming home with us. Ok you talked us into it. Here's the address where we will be if you need us. Ok. I'll have a couple officers keep watch on your place here and where you will be. I want Trent with us. I think that will be ok. Officer Jones accompany these folks to this lady's home and keep an eye on them. Ok chief. Trent can you get my car keys off the kitchen table, either set the jeep or Tahoe. Be right back. We all headed over to Patties and when we got there just sort of collapsed on the couch. Robbie was right next to me. He wouldn't leave my side. Hey babe, you really are safe now. It's ok. I know but I thought sure we were going to get killed and never see each other again. Holding him tighter I told him. Nothing like this will never happen again. Trent spoke up. Jay you want me to call my friend. Yeah I need to talk to him right away. Pattie can I use your phone. Sure honey. And she handed the phone to Trent. He dialed a number and in a minute or so someone answered. Hey gunny Williams good to talk to you again. It's Trent Jones. What's going on Trent? I have some friends in need of your services. Oh what kind of services. An armed security force, long term gig. How long? Permanent, career type thing. I'll be right down, where are you. Trent told him and then he hung up. The gunny said he would be here in about two hours and for you to think what kind of guys you want. Cute ones Robbie said. We all laughed and then realized he was going to be ok. Trent hand me the phone a minute. He did and I dialed...Bill Ailsworth please. Can I tell him who is calling. Jay Johnson. Oh just a minute sir. Bill Ailsworth here. How are you today Mr. Johnson. I could be better. Oh something wrong. Yeah myself and a friend were just held for ransom. No shit. It's true you'll probably see it on the six o'clock news. What's that got to do with me. I need some new cars. Get your pencil out Bill, you're going to need it. Ok go ahead. I want 2 suburban's fully armored bullet proof glass and tires. The most deluxe interior there is and good stereo's and of course with the 454 in them. Ok any certain color. How about the silver like on my Tahoe. Ok I'll get on it in the morning as soon as the factory opens. That's not all Bill. Next you might have these on your lot. First I want a 1 ton with either a 454 or the new cat diesel, automatic, and 4 wheel drive, crew cab. Second a 1/2 ton set up the same way. Nice interior and towing packages on both. When do you need them. I know the suburban's will take a while. But the trucks as soon as you can get them. Ok Jay I'll let you know in the morning. Ok Bill, bye. Trent can you ask the chief if I can get a concealed carry permit right away. Sure Jay no problem. By this time Pattie had the food ready. This time was no different there was enough for an army and we damn near finished it all. After we were done eating Robbie came back over and cuddled up next to me again and fell asleep. We were talking real low about what happened. Pattie said. Jay, Robbie still seems really scared. Wouldn't you be. I'm going to make damn sure something like this never happens again. I realized something today. What's that. This kid really cares about me. And I care about him too. And I'll be damned if I'm going to let anything or anyone even get close to hurting him again. About that time Trent's radio went off saying there was a Mr. Williams here. Trent told the other officer to let him in. He came in and Trent did the introductions. Jim Williams this is Jay Johnson. Nice to meet you, just call me gunny. Ok Jim, ooops I mean gunny This is a friend of mine Pattie and her husband Ben, that little guy over on the couch asleep is Robbie. My lover, son, or whatever you want to call him. Fine looking boy. And a good kid too. I don't have time for bullshit gunny so I'm going to be blunt. I'm gay and so is Robbie. We need a permanent security force and money is no object. I would prefer ex or soon to be ex seals or force recon marines. Young and single would be better as I plan to be doing some traveling for long periods of time. Gay or gay friendly, I don't care as long as they are loyal and don't have a problem with us being gay. I can say you sure know what you want. Well gunny someone putting a gun to your head and telling you they will kill you and someone you care about and burn your home down will make you figure it out real quick. That it will. How soon do you need them. I needed them this morning. I see. I don't want mercenaries. I want disciplined men who can think and also follow orders. I can find you some brutes real quick for a temporary thing. It will take a couple months to get the rest of them. And the permanent guys you will probably want to screen yourself. I will help you and make recommendations but the final decision will be yours. Ok that's fair but I want to hire you to supervise these guys until you feel everyone is working together. Oh well I don't work cheap sonny. What do you want gunny. 5000.00 a month plus expenses. Why don't we just make it 10,000 Trent I like this fella already. What would you say I should offer as a salary to these guys. Well 3 times what their making now in the service and the same benefits and room and board should get you some real top guys. Good now how do we do it. I have a friend that still works for the NAVY TIMES I think I can get him to slip and ad in there. Also USA Today and some of the more popular magazines like soldier of fortune. Ok let's do it. Put this number in to call. I will have more lines put in at home one with a recording and one to talk to them on. Alright you know you will get some crack pots but I will weed them out. (he said that with a big grin). Back in the gunny mode? You got it. Gunny I want you to meet Robbie. I want to make sure he knows you're a friend. I went over and shook Robbie a little. He woke a little startled. It's ok babe. I have someone here I want you to meet. He looked at gunny and said I'm not sure if I want to. Come on he's ok. He's going to help protect us. Funny thing about gunny Williams he had that Sean Connery look and voice. He came over to us and said. Hi son, I'm gunnery sergeant Jim Williams retired of course. And held out his hand. Robbie took it and said hi I'm Robbie Taylor. Me and my people will be here to make sure nothing like today ever happens again. I guarantee it. You don't have to be afraid of me, I am here to help. Ok. Was all Robbie could say. I added, he will get used to you gunny. It's just been a real bad couple of weeks for him. Guys I'm going to get going and start finding some temporary help. Jay I will call you tomorrow. They will need a place to stay. My house is still being built but I'll have another trailer in by the end of the week. Things may be a little cramped for a while. But I promise everyone their own room. That will work. Till tomorrow good bye. After gunny left Pattie went over to Trent and got in his face. Where in the hell did you come up with that guy. He scared the shit out of me too. Trent laughed. That was my old boot camp drill instructor when I went in the navy. I pulled him over for speeding one day and remembered the name. We've been friends ever since. He really is a teddy bear once you get to know him. I sure as hell hope so I added. He really is Trent said again. Robbie decided to weigh in. He's old and gruff but I sort of like him. I thought you were scared shitless. I was till he shook my hand. He was gentle as can be. Pattie added. Well aint that some shit. The kid's a better judge of character than I am. There was a knock on the door. It's chief Callahan, can I come in. Come on in Pattie said. Hi chief. You guys ok. Yeah we're calming down. That's good I have something for you. And he handed me a black bag. I opened it. Inside was my .45 and two spare magazines and a full box of shells. Thanks chief I couldn't get to it earlier. Yeah we know we found it while searching the house and getting fingerprints. Who were these guys. Well the live one isn't talking and we are running the dead one's prints. I'm sure this wasn't their first time in trouble. But it is the last for three of them and the fourth will be lucky if he doesn't get a death sentence. Good. Look Jay I know this isn't a very good time. But I can only justify the two officers for a few days. I understand and I've already started working on it. What if I pay for the officers time myself until I get a permanent security force. It won't be cheap. You're looking at 23.50 per officer per hour. Well that's up there but if you can get guys to do it. How about a month. By that time I know the permanent arrangements will be worked out. And I figure there might be some guys who will like the special duty pay. Oh there won't be a shortage of volunteers. Good. How about a concealed carry permit for me and Robbie. I've already checked you out. You're ok but Robbie will have to take the course if he wants to carry. And really legally he can't until he is 21. Yeah I forgot about that. I'm going to hire ex seals and force recon marines for security. Will there be any problem with them. Not as long as they don't have a record. Come see me in the morning, bring your gun but unload it before you come in the building. And make sure you tell the desk sergeant you have it. Ok. I'm going to be going. My wife is expecting to go out to dinner. Jones I will have two officers relieve you guys at 11 pm. Ok chief. Pattie spoke up. Hey guys why don't we watch a movie and relax, it's been a rough day on all of us. I need a beer said Ben. Get me one too, I said. You're going to drink. Yeah I might as well. Maybe it will relax me. Trent was looking at all the movies. What do you guys want to watch. How about something funny or a calm western, Robbie said. Ok you got it. We kicked back and started watching Pure Country. It was about the closest thing to keep everyone happy. Robbie and I were sitting in a big lounger that Pattie has. He was sitting in front of me and laying back against my chest. About halfway through the movie we both were fast asleep. I think I might have had half of the beer before the stress caught up with me. I know it caught up with Robbie. About 4:30 in the morning I woke up with a still sleeping boy on my chest. I looked around and there was a new officer at the table drinking coffee. Hey the coffee smells good. You want a cup. Sure could you bring it over, I really can't move right now. How do you like it. Black. He brought the coffee over and sat it down. I'm Officer Jenkins. Hi Jay Johnson, this is Robbie Taylor. Looks like you guys had a rough day yesterday. Yeah I think it caught up with us all at once. That happens. Have you heard anything about the guys who held us yesterday. Nah they're keeping everything tight lipped. But the FBI is also investigating. I need to get up from here and go to the bathroom, I hope I can do it without waking him up. I tried to work my way out from under Robbie but he started to wake up. Where (yawn) you going (yawn). Just to the bathroom, you'll be ok. Where's Trent (yawn). He had to go home, Officer Jenkins is right there at the table. He looked around, ok then. I went and did my business and came back out and was sitting at the table. I explained to Officer Jenkins about me and Robbie and said his last two weeks has been pretty rough. I see kids like him all the time. I'm glad someone took the time to help one of them. Most when they get past 10 or 12 the foster homes are a nightmare and no one wants to adopt them. Everyone that will adopt wants a newborn or a kid that's only 3-4. I got lucky he turned 18, 3 days after I met him so we didn't have to worry about the legal stuff. From what he told me his parents are real religious and disowned him when he told them he was gay. Too bad he seems like a real good kid. I talked to his principle and even she said he was a good kid, played sports and was really the perfect student. Good grades and all. I just hope he can get over what happened yesterday. Just give him time, he will bounce back. I sure hope so. Don't worry he's young. He will be ok. About that time Pattie got up to get ready for work. Hey guys. Morning Pattie have a seat I'll get your tea. Thanks honey. I poured her a glass and took it to her at the table. She looked at Robbie still sleeping. Is he ok. Yeah I think so. Good he looks so cute when he's asleep. Don't we all, we're just little devils when we're awake. Hey speak for yourself. I just smiled. Doesn't Ben have to work today. He doesn't have to be in until 10 Oh ok. We should be getting home so Robbie can get ready for school. You might want to keep him with you today. I was thinking that myself, but I don't know what kind of shape the house is in and I have a lot to do there. Why don't you go check. If it's too bad just come back over here and stay until the mess is cleaned up. Ok that should work. I went to wake Robbie. I kissed him on the cheek. Hey baby time to get up. You need to get ready for school. Do I have to. Well if you want to stay home you can, but don't you need to finish this last week. Yeah I guess I should go today anyway. I do have a couple finals. And I know my friends will be worried about me. I'll take you and have a talk with the principle and if you don't want to stay all you have to do is call me and I will come get you. Ok. You know this is why I love you so much. And with that he leaned up and planted a big kiss right on my lips. I love you too babe. Now let's get ready ok. Robbie got up and had a cup of coffee with us. Then Officer Jenkins and the other officer outside went home with us. The crime scene tape was still there so officer Jenkins called in to make sure it was ok to go in. He got the ok. Robbie why don't you wait here until I see what kind of shape the place is in. Ok I'll be right here. The other officer stayed with him and Jenkins and I went in. it was better than I was imagining. There was a little bit of blood splatter on one wall and Robbie's old room just had a stain on the floor. And of course fingerprint dust everywhere. We agreed it would be ok for him to see. After all they see worse in the movies. I went back out to Robbie. Hey babe it's not as bad as I thought. There is a little blood on one wall and a blood stain on the carpet in your old room. Other than that just fingerprint dust everywhere. Can you handle it. Yeah I should be ok. Why don't you get your clothes you're going to wear and just grab a shower in our room. You going to take one with me? If it will make you feel safer. It will. I thought you would say that. We went in and had another shower together but this time there was no funny business. And I then took Robbie to school. After I got my holster for my gun out of the closet. I had to wait on the principle and she told me she saw it on the news but didn't know who it was. She said she would be more than happy to keep an eye on Robbie and to call if he needed me. I thanked her and gave her my cell phone number. I then headed to police headquarters. After filling out all the forms for the carry permit. The chief told me they tried to clean up as much as they could. He gave me a card for an industrial cleaning service that specializes in crime scene cleanup. I called them and gave them my address and told them not to worry about the keys as there was a police officer still on duty there. They said they would be there and have everything cleaned like new today. Next I called the phone company and ordered three more phone lines and a computerized phone system. Next I went back down to Tampa to the mobile home dealer I got my home from. He was surprised to see me so soon. Mr. Johnson is there any problem with your home. No not that you can't handle. I need two more big houses something like mine but with lots of bedrooms. How many bedrooms you need. 10 What are you doing starting a mobile whorehouse. No nothing like that. Just a place for my security detail to call home for about 6 months. I have a couple 5 bedroom models, they are triple wide's so they do have a little bit of room in them. Let's take a look. We went out and looked at several models, I decided on the two I wanted and we went back in to talk money. How soon do you need these. In the next couple weeks. I have a dozer up there right now and can make you a good level spot with no problem. And the driveway is 3 times the size it used to be. You've been busy. Yeah I have been. Oh shit. That was you on the news last night wasn't it. Yeah it was but keep that to yourself. Ok I will. You want the water heaters and stoves changed to gas on these too. Yeah and put the biggest water heaters in that you can fit. Ok I'll give you a call in a couple days when we get a good idea when we can have them up there. That's good. How much do I owe you. He started calculating. I'm going to change the water heaters and stoves for free. Both homes delivered and set up with a/c comes to 92,456.00 I wrote him another check. And headed home. When I got there the telephone company was just finishing up and the installer showed me how to work the greeting system. And also how to switch the calls from one line to the other. I also saw the cleaning company had been there and the place was cleaner than when I moved in. They were good enough to leave a bill on the kitchen table. Hrmm only 225.00 About that time there was a knock on the door. I answered it to find Jack standing there looking bewildered. Jay what the hell happened here this weekend. Come on in Jack, you'll have to sit down for this. I told him the story from the party on Friday night up until now. When I finished. WOW. Was the only thing he could say. Hey I'll have Julio come over and fix the door and door jamb, he's a damn good carpenter. Thanks Jack. I've made arrangements to hire off duty police officers for a month until I can get my own security together. That's a good idea. Now where can I get a good company to install a fence and electric gates. What kind of fence you want. A big secure one. He laughed. Acme fence and security in Tampa would be your best bet. Ok I'll call them, anymore. Yeah come to think of it there's a company called Highway and Industrial fence and supply. I think they are in Tampa also. About that time the phone rang. Hey gunny how's our project going. I got ads in the papers and magazines I told you about and also dug up a few reliable guys that I was in the marines with. They interested? A couple are but short term only. Ok I got the cops for a month so that should take the pressure off a little. Why don't we just hold off on the short term guys and see what happens with the ads I placed. Whatever you think is best. The guys I talked to are available almost anytime if we need to use a few to fill in for a while. Ok that sounds good to me. Alright then I'll keep in touch. Sorry Jack that was my head of security. Damn you work fast. Well you know how it goes. It's all in who you know. I know how that is. I'm going to get back to work and I'll send Julio right over. Ok thanks Jack I'll see you later. I called the fence companies next and both said they would need to send an estimator out to look at the job. Both were to arrive in the morning. Next I recorded the greeting and set the phone system up. Now when someone calls a recording answers and if you want information on the employment position you punch #2, if not just stay on the line. Now I had to make my recording. When I got done this is what it said. Thank you for calling about the job you saw in the paper. Please listen to this message carefully to understand the position you are applying for. First I am a 40 year old gay man with a young partner. Due to some good luck I am very well off. Due to recent events I find myself in need of several good qualified security personnel to not only to protect myself but also my partner and our home. This is a long term career type move and sometimes extensive travel will be involved. To be happy at this job you should be comfortable out in a country setting and also either be gay or at least gay friendly. I'm not concerned which it may be as long as everyone respects everyone else. Room and board are provided as well as a generous salary and benefits. While traveling all expenses will be paid for. To be considered for this position you should either be recently honorably discharged or due to be discharged in the very short future. All special forces will be considered first. This is not and I repeat not a mercenary position. Hopefully it will be very dull most of the time. If you are still interested at this point please touch #1 to speak to a live person. Thank you again for your time. If you happen to call when no one is here please leave your name and number, your call will be returned. After reading it I decided this was right and saved it to the system. And after calling it myself decided it was to the point. Now if only the calls would start. Since I had a couple hours before picking Robbie up I decided to start pushing the woods back with the dozer to provide a good clear path for the fence. I managed to get the front all cut back about 100' from the road and figured I had better go pick the boy up from school. After picking Robbie up we came back home had a quiet dinner and he was off to study for his last final tomorrow. About 10:30 I went over and put my arms around him. Hey babe, you about ready for bed. Yeah today was a little tiring. Before we go to bed I have something I want you to listen to, and played the tape for him. But Jay it sounds like you want mostly young guys. I do. Why. Well honey that's a good question. First if I get guys close to your age you will have someone around you can talk young guy stuff with. And with you liking sports and these guys being used to being active I figured if you wanted a basketball partner it wouldn't be hard to find someone wanting to play awhile. And if we wanted that would make just about enough guys for one helluva a baseball team. And besides I like having young guys around. Most are more easy going than older guys. This job would be hard on someone that is married with kids. And the younger guys are less likely to be married. It wouldn't be fair to keep a married guy from his family for long periods of time. That's why most of them would be getting out of the service anyway. So it's not to replace me? Hell no. Where would you get that idea. You know young hot guys, I know you would be tempted. I put my arms back around him. Robbie you are the only guy I want right now. You can help pick these guys out too. And if you want to play together with some of them, we could try that if the guy wants to. Besides maybe with all these hot guys around here I may get in better shape to keep from losing the most special guy in the world to me. Who is that? You! Silly. Ok, ok I was just testing you. Well lets go to bed stud, I'll really test you if you want. Promises, promises. We went to bed and I tried to test Robbie as much as I could. He passed with flying colors and loud moans from me. After a few hours we fell asleep with him still hard and still in me.
