The characters are fictional but the story is based on real life situations. It contains explicit m/m sex so be warned. Moving Forward - chapter 3 The following day, Gavin the Company's lawyer arrived to go through last minute arrangements for the funeral on Monday. Luke introduced me as his partner and explained that I was a qualified nurse so I looked after his medical needs as well. "Yes, so I understand" Gavin said somewhat warily. "Ah, I see Sam has spoken to you" Luke replied smiling. I was in the kitchen preparing some coffee but could hear the conversation since they were sitting at the dining table. "I'm glad you've found someone to look after you Luke" "Not just look after me" he replied indignantly, "To love me and look after me and I love him". Gavin said nothing for a moment. I imagine he was either taken aback or feeling embarrassed. "Like it or not Gavin, Adam is now part of my life and I want him to be given the same courtesies as I am" "Of course Adam but I understand you have only known him for a few weeks" "Six to be precise" Luke responded, "How long had you known your wife when you fell in love with her?" "Touché" Gavin replied. "As you know very well, it was love at first sight" "There you are then. Despite us being gay we are also able to fall in love at first sight." "I'm sorry Luke. I didn't mean anything. I just wanted to make sure you are sure what you are doing." "I am and so is Adam because his life is not going to be easy with these fucking legs of mine" Gavin muttered something that I couldn't hear before Luke continued, "And no he is not in it just to get at my money if that's what you're thinking." Gavin apologised for giving Luke the wrong impression and they moved on to another subject. The coffee was now made so I walked in breezily as if I hadn't heard anything but Luke's expression knew that I would have heard and he was upset. "You okay love?" I said as I put the coffee down on the table. "Yeah, I'm alright" he replied taking hold of my hand and pulling me towards him. I put my other hand on his shoulder and squeezed it. Gavin smiled as if to say 'Okay, you've convinced me'. "I'll leave you guys to talk" I said moving away. "No, I want you here Adam" Luke said immediately. He turned to Gavin and told him that I was attending the funeral with him so needed to know all the arrangements. "I can't cope with all this without him". Gavin smiled at me and nodded his approval. "That's very kind of you Adam". "Well, it's what you do when you love someone isn't it!" Gavin blushed slightly and quickly moved on to list out what would happen. When he had finished, he gave Luke a piece of paper with everything on it. Luke immediately passed it to me as if to say 'This is the man who needs to know'. "I have arranged a board meeting for Thursday if that's okay" Gavin then said, "There are several things we need to discuss and agree. Have you given any thoughts about your future role?" "Yes, I've spoken to Charles and told him I will become Chairman but I would like him to run the day to day affairs" Gavin raised his eyebrows. "Any problem with that Gavin?" "No none at all" he quickly replied, "If you're sure that's what you want to do." "It's what my father would have wanted. Charles knows but I want it kept under wraps until the board meeting so please keep it to yourself." "Of course" Gavin replied quickly. "I'll leave everything else to Thursday then since there will be various papers to sign and go through" With that Gavin stood up and shook my hand. "Nice meeting you and no doubt we will see you again". "You certainly will" Luke replied grinning, "Adam is going to be my personal assistant amongst other things". Having said goodbye to Luke, I showed Gavin out and before he finally left he turned and said "Thanks for looking after him. He's very special to all of us." "I will, don't worry." Gavin smiled warmly and left leaving me somewhat relieved. It seemed I had passed the test, if that's what it was. "Sorry about that" Luke said when I returned to the living room. "About what?" "About his attitude towards you. Gavin can be a twat at times but he's good at his job." "Well, I think I passed the test. He smiled warmly as he left, thanked me for looking after you and said you were very special to all of them." "Fucking wanker" I laughed, "He's just doing his job to make sure you haven't picked up a money grabber" "Still no reason to treat you the way he did. Are you a money grabber?" he asked grinning. "If I was, I most certainly wouldn't have gone in for nursing and secondly when I fell in love with you I didn't know you were a millionaire." Luke laughed and pulled me towards him, "I know, only teasing. Anyhow I think he's in no doubt now that you are my partner and are to be treated as such." I bent over and kissed him, "Thanks". "Right, after lunch I want to go out if you don't mind. I fancy a trip along the river if you can manage that and then we'll go into Soho and I'll take you to my favourite restaurant and treat you to a meal. After that we'll go to a gay bar and see the gay boys." "Anything you say Sir. Sounds perfect to me." Luke grabbed at my crotch and held me tight. "Have we got time for bed first?" "No we haven't. I've got lunch to prepare and washing to put on." "Spoil sport but I can help with the washing." Whilst we were doing the chores Luke asked if I felt it was wrong of him to want to go out that evening in view of the fact that the funeral had still not taken place. I hadn't known his parents of course but from what he had told me about them during the past six weeks I had the feeling they would want him to move on with his life. "I'm sure they would want you to move forward and not sit around moping" As soon as I had said it I realised what I'd said and looked at him. In his usual way he grinned, "Haven't got much choice but to sit around all the time have I but I agree, they wouldn't want me moping around". "Sorry, bad choice of words" "Come here you gorgeous hunk" I moved over to him and he held my hand, "Don't worry about what you say. I know what you mean and you're right I must move forward with life. That's why I want you with me." Tears ran down my face as I kissed him. There was something about him that made me very emotional. I put it down to the fact that I loved him so much. Mid afternoon we set off and walked along the river. Well, me walking whilst pushing Luke in reality! He is quite good at wheeling himself but its hard work so I tend to push him most times. He has a special lightweight wheelchair for going out and another more luxury one to use at home. He makes life as easy as he can for me so I can't complain! Along the way we stopped and I sat down beside him. He talked about his parents and how difficult the next week was going to be what with the funeral and having to face the board to make arrangements for the future. "I've also got to go to their house and start sorting things out. I'm really going to need your help with that in more ways than one." I told him it was no problem and we would go whenever he wanted to. They had lived in Hampstead so I imagined a large house that would need clearing. In reality it was a very ordinary four bedroom house but everything had to be cleared and the house sold eventually. "Gavin will arrange most things but I need to go and see what items I want to keep" he explained as he watched the river flow by. "They loved the river. We often used to go to Richmond and have a walk alongside it when I was growing up" he added. He was deep in thought so I left him to them and just sat and held his hand. People were passing by and I didn't care what they thought seeing two guys holding hands - one in a wheelchair and another sitting alongside. "We'll go on Tuesday" he said suddenly bringing me out of my own thoughts, "I'll ask Sam if she can meet us there so she can help". When you are negotiating a wheelchair around you realise how poor things are in general for disabled people. You spend your time working out how you are going to get from one place to another without having to negotiate steps. We could manage curbs and single steps but so many places rely on more than that to move along. However, we eventually found a step free way along the river and managed to get back to the main road. Using tube trains was virtually impossible because so many stations don't have wheelchair access. Some buses are okay because a lot do have ramps but fortunately Luke had the money to spend on taxis so we spent our time using them. Most had ramps but where they didn't, the drivers were generally very helpful and Luke always gave them a good tip! We hailed a taxi which took us to Soho. We were too early for a meal so Luke got me to wheel him along Old Compton Street and the surrounding streets. We ended up in a bar he knew well and their access was straight in so we had no problem. Once again people were very kind and held doors open for us whilst we negotiated our way in. Luke was obviously well known and once in the two bar guys came running round to see him. "Oh my god Luke, it's lovely to see you" one of them said as he gave Luke a hug and a kiss. They all said how sorry they were to hear about his loss and the accident and how was he coping. Luke just grinned and introduced me as his partner and nurse. Suddenly the attention was on me and everyone was shaking my hand and smiling at me. I'd been into the bar on previous occasions but had clearly not made the same impression so they didn't seem to recognise me. Perhaps it was being dressed in my designer clothes! Finally we moved off to the restaurant he had booked. It was only a short distance away so we set off again. There were two steps to negotiate at the entrance but as soon as the guys inside saw us they were out and in no time had lifted Luke inside. It was a smart place and again he was well known so several guys flitted round him. All the time he held my hand so they knew I was someone special. They were all very nice and the meal was beautiful. We had a great time even though I did have to limit Luke's alcohol intake because of the drugs he was still on. "He watches my like a hawk" Luke joked with the waiter. The waiter grinned at me and I had the feeling he was flirting slightly. He was very nice! "You're lucky to have someone watching over you" he commented. "Yeah, I know" Luke replied as he put his hand on top of mine, "and I love him to bits". After the meal Luke said he'd like to go to another bar. I was worried he might get over tired but he insisted. "Just one drink" he pleaded looking at me with his seductive eyes. I agreed but told him he'd need to stick to soft drinks. I wanted to pick him up and hug him like a teddy bear. I could never say no to him whatever he wanted! The bar was busy and once again he was well known. The doormen helped us inside and once again the bar guys came round and kissed him. As soon as he'd introduced me they gave me kisses as well so I was more than happy. Another group of guys surrounded us and talked to Luke. One in particular was very good looking. "I'm Jay" he said holding his hand out to me whilst the others chatted to Luke. "Hi, I'm Adam" "So you're the live in nurse are you?" he said grinning. I wasn't too sure how to take this but whilst I was deciding how to respond Luke looked up and introduced me. "Adam is my partner and he happens to be a qualified nurse so he tends to all my needs" Jay grinned, "I bet he does. You lucky bastard Luke; he's gorgeous" "Hands off Jay" Luke responded laughing. Luke later explained that he and Jay had been an item for a while but they both knew it wouldn't last. "He's great in bed but that's about it" "Mm, well he is rather nice" "I agree and he's got a great body and a big cock. Are you into threesomes?" I wasn't sure if Luke was joking or not so I just replied "Could be". "We'll invite him over sometime then" The next day Charles and his wife came round. Charles wanted to go through arrangements for the funeral and discuss one or two things in readiness for the board meeting later that week. I invited them to stay for a meal so his wife and I busied ourselves in the kitchen. I had met Charles on several occasions at the hospital and had liked him. His wife was charming and I got on well with her. "I'm so glad Luke found you Adam" she suddenly said, "I can see he loves you very much". I looked at her and smiled, "He's a very lovable person and I fell for him the first time I met him". She smiled "Yes, I can tell you love him just as much. I wish you both many happy years together. It's not going to be easy for either of you is it". "We'll cope, life has to go on and he has to move forward" "You're right. A lot of people would just collapse under what has happened to him but with your support I'm sure he will. Thanks; we all love him very much." I was touched by her words and smiled. She moved over and gave me a kiss on my cheek. "Luke's father and Charles had known each other for many years, well before I met Charles so they were very close. Charles likes you and respects you so is not so worried about Luke now." "Thanks for telling me" We had the meal and everyone congratulated me on my cuisine. As usual Luke loved what I had prepared and told the others how lucky he was to have found me. It was nice to have the assurance because at times I did wonder how life was going to be living with Luke. He was genuinely in love with me and appreciated all that I did for him. I too loved him and appreciated what he was doing for me so we were both more than happy. We just had to keep it that way as time went by but I knew in my heart that we would be able to do so whatever life threw at us. We spent the Sunday quietly at home getting ourselves ready for the following day. It was going to be difficult, especially for Luke. Although he'd had over six weeks to mourn the loss of his parents the funeral was the final parting. I knew also that I had to be strong for him because when he was upset, I was upset. Several relatives phoned and said they would see him at the funeral. His father was an only son like Luke but his mother had one sister who was much older than her and Luke always looked upon her as the 'aged Aunt'. There were also several cousins but they were all distant relatives. On the Monday morning, Charles and his wife arrived before the two hearses and the funeral cars. Eventually they arrived and I wheeled Luke out. I had dressed Luke in a dark grey suit and myself in my new dark blue suit. "You look very smart" he commented when we were finally ready. A special funeral car had been provided to take the wheelchair. Having got him inside as the others watched on, I got into the car beside him. The others were in cars behind and I noted there were four. Luke explained they were mainly company people. As we followed the two hearses I held Luke's hand. "You okay?" I asked despite realising it was a stupid question but needed to say something. He nodded and gripped my hand tighter. I could see a tear running down his cheek and it made me have one too. It was a simple service since his parents were not particularly religious. Charles gave a short address in which he talked about his long working relationship with Luke's father. He commented that he was a generous and kind man and would be missed terribly. I heard several people behind murmur their agreement. He also talked about Luke's mother and how he had known the pair of them personally, how much they loved each other and how much they loved their son. "Like all of us" he continued, "Luke is going to miss them terribly because I know they were a very close family. However, there is one final thing I would like to say." My mind had only partly been listening because I was concerned about Luke. He was holding my hand tightly throughout and I knew tears were falling down his face which he was dabbing with a tissue with his spare hand. "I had the privilege of watching a very dedicated and professional nurse look after Luke whilst he was in hospital. Luke has also told me that he fell in love with his nurse - it was 'love at first sight' he told me. I now know that the nurse, Adam, also felt the same way. I would like to thank Adam for bringing Luke through his ordeal and it makes me happy to know that Luke now has a soul mate as well as someone to look after him through what I'm sure are going to be difficult times ahead." As he said these words, Charles smiled at me. I couldn't believe that I was hearing a public acknowledgement of our love and thanks for what I'd done, which after all was my job. I again heard several people behind me agreeing with what he'd said despite not knowing me. I was really chuffed and squeezed Luke's hand tighter. As I did so, Charles' wife who was sitting beside me placed her hand on my knee and patted it. I was choked with emotion and could hardly keep it all together. After the service we all moved outside and I wheeled Luke past the long line of flowers. I lost count of the number and just hoped that someone would collect all the cards so that we could thank them. Several people came up to speak to Luke and to shake my hand. It seemed I was as much a celebrity as him now! Eventually Sam directed us back to the waiting cars and we were taken to a local hotel where a buffet had been organised. I later found out that the company had closed for the day and that most of the staff had attended the funeral. There were certainly well over a hundred people, several of whom knew Luke's father in business. I was also introduced to Luke's aunt who Luke said was a spinster - and probably Lesbian! She seemed pleasant enough but didn't say much. She lived down in Cornwall and disappeared soon afterwards. Sam was brilliant. She told me to just stay with Luke and she would get us food and do anything else that needed doing. Luke was holding up well but I knew he was finding it hard. Several times he held my hand for moral support irrespective of who was talking to him. I guessed his sexuality was well known to everyone so he had nothing to hide or be ashamed of. What a difference to my Dad I thought to myself. He can't accept me for what I am or even come to see how happy his son is. 'His loss' I told myself on more than one occasion that day as I watched how people reacted to Luke and me. One particular cousin, who was much the same age as Luke, was particularly good looking. His name was Jason and I guessed he was gay by the way he interacted with us. "You must come round and see us some time" Luke said as he took hold of his hand and kissed him. "I'd love to" Jason replied giving me the once over and smiling. Someone else then came to talk to Luke and I asked Jason where he lived. "Islington" he replied, "I have a small flat there. I'm so glad Luke has found someone to love and look after him. It's not going to be easy for him now is it?" I nodded and added that Luke was a strong character and he would get through it all. "Yeah, I'm sure he will but having someone beside him always helps" He added this last comment with a tint of sadness. "Do you have anyone beside you Jason?" "Sadly not; did have a boyfriend but he dumped me about a year ago and I've not met Mr Right since" I smiled and told him I was sure he'd find someone eventually. As the afternoon progressed, I became aware that Luke was getting tired. He still needed regular rest periods so I suggested we make a move. He smiled and was clearly relieved I had intervened. "My nurse says I must rest" he said to the person talking to him, glad that he was now able to get away. I quickly spoke to Charles and Sam and told them I was taking Luke home because he was tired. They both came over and helped me get Luke out and into a waiting car. It was arranged that Sam would meet us at his parents' house at eleven the following morning. I know Luke was not looking forward to that but having her there would make it easier to cope. When we got home he was done in. I was concerned that perhaps he had overdone things but in his usual way he assured me he was fine despite me knowing he was not. "Do you want a rest on the bed?" I asked as I wheeled him in. "No, I want you to sit with me in the living room but first I want to get out of these clothes" I undressed him and stripped off my own clothes. When we were both naked I took him into the living room and got him out of his wheelchair and onto a sofa. "Come here" he told me and pulled me down onto the sofa beside him. I snuggled up beside him and held him in my arms. "Thank you for everything" he said as he kissed my forehead, "You've been wonderful". I gently massaged his thighs and every so often put my hand into his crotch to feel his organ. It was slow to react but did eventually. I sensed he was deep in thought. "Penny for them" He looked at me and smiled. "Sorry, miles away. I was thinking how much my parents would have loved to have met you." I couldn't think of anything to say in reply so I just kissed him and continued with my massaging. He was soon dozing off so I gently moved away and went into the kitchen to prepare some food. I knew he hadn't eaten much and he probably wouldn't want to eat much now but he needed to do so. When he did eventually wake up I told him that nurse said he should eat something to keep his strength up. He grinned and pulled his legs to a sitting position for me to get him into the wheelchair. "Come on then, let's eat; then we can go to bed and I can make love to you" "Do you think of anything else?" I teased him. "Not often; not when I have a gorgeous naked hunk like you around" When we had eaten and I had cleared up we went to bed. It was early but we were both tired. I had just got into bed when my mobile rang. "Hi Adam, its Sam; just wanted to make sure you were both okay; thought you both coped very well today; thanks; he is so lucky to have you Adam." I laughed, "And me" "Yeah I know but you know what I mean. See you tomorrow." When she had rung off and I had told Luke who it was he grinned "Think she fancies you". "Considering she is twice my age I doubt it" "Ah but mature women go for young bucks like you" "You wanting to get rid of me already then" I teased him. Luke pulled me by my cock towards him and held me tight. "No way; I need that cock too much!" We had a long session of passionate sex despite our tiredness. He fucked me and I fucked him with us both shooting our loads inside each other. I then sucked him off and he again shot a load into my mouth. "Oh god that was fucking marvellous" he exclaimed once he had finished shooting for the second time. After having massaged his legs again and giving him his night time pills we finally settled down for the night. He was asleep before my head hardly hit the pillow so I put my arms round him and snuggled up beside his warm naked body. My head was still swimming with things that had happened during the day and with what Charles had said at the service. I felt proud of myself and only wished my Dad felt the same way. I would make sure I told my Mum what Charles had said when she visited in two weeks time. "Morning gorgeous" Luke said as I woke up the following morning. He was already sitting on the bed having lifted his legs out. "You okay?" I asked concerned. "Yeah, just thought I'd do my own massaging this morning to show I'm not completely helpless" I was not sure if he was teasing or saying I mothered him too much. "Am I too over protective?" He leaned back into my lap and looked up at me. "Of course not; I appreciate what you do for me but I don't want you to feel you have to do everything. I know my limitations so don't worry you won't be redundant!" I smiled and bent over to kiss him. "That's okay then, because I need you as much as you need me". As I kissed him I stretched a hand over to his cock and stroked it. "Mm now that is something that needs attention" he said between kisses. I got out of bed and knelt down in front of him. I then took his gorgeous long cock into my mouth and sucked it until he was shooting yet another load of hot creamy cum into my mouth. When I had finished he indicated for me to stand up so he could suck my now full erection. "Mm that tastes good. Every morning should start like this" he laughed before sucking me to a climax. "Oh yeah, I love the taste of your hot cum" he exclaimed, "Beats a morning cup of tea every time". "Come on" I laughed, "its time I got you showered and dressed you sex maniac" The taxi dropped us off outside his parents' house. Sam was already there sitting in her car so immediately came to greet us when we arrived. I paid off the taxi and Sam and I got Luke into the house. It was beautifully furnished but quite different from Luke's apartment which was furnished in a very modern style. There was a large hall with stairs leading upstairs ahead and a room off either side, and another at the end of the hall which was in fact the kitchen. Luke had wheeled himself into the large living room which went from front to back with patio doors leading onto a garden. I suddenly realised that he was crying so I went up to him. Trying to hug someone sitting in a wheelchair is very difficult and what he wanted was a hug and what I wanted to do was hug him. I wheeled him over to a sofa, dropped the side bar and lifted him out onto it. I sat down beside him and hugged him. By now he was sobbing his heart out and had his head on my shoulders. His whole body was shaking with tears and it made me have tears in my eyes. Sam quietly went off into the kitchen and left us. It was the first time I had seen Luke cry so much since he had first been told about the loss of his parents at the hospital. He needed to get it all out so I just held him tight, kissing his forehead every so often and said nothing. Eventually the sobbing subsided and Sam came into the room with a pot of coffee and three mugs. "I'm sorry" Luke said to us both. "Don't be my love; you need to grieve so let it all come out" "It's being here; I suddenly realised I would never see them again" Sam came and sat the other side of Luke and put her arm round his shoulders. "As Adam says, there's nothing wrong in letting your emotions show; you've had a hell of lot to contend with so you have every right to cry and even feel angry." Luke smiled at us both and composed himself. Sam gave him a tissue and he wiped the tears still running down his face. We then drank our coffee in silence. When we'd finished, Sam pulled a file out of her bag. "Is it still your intention to sell the house and the contents Luke?" He and I hadn't really talked about this but I assumed he had spoken to Sam or Charles about it. Luke nodded. "There's no point in me keeping it; I can't even get up the bloody stairs can I? Besides I'm better off in my apartment in central London". I had to agree, he was and unless he particularly wanted to keep the house for any other reason then it was sensible to clear it and sell it. He explained that his parents had lived there for the past thirty years and he had been brought up there but he had to let go now. "As you know, Gavin has done an inventory of everything in the house but we first need to go through it so you can decide if there's anything you want to keep." "If you want to go upstairs to look round Luke I can always carry you up" I offered. He declined saying he knew the rooms off by heart so there was no need. I was relieved in a way since although he was not heavy, to get someone upstairs who can't walk is not an easy feat but we would have managed somehow. He spent several minutes going through the list and marked a few items he wanted such as a very nice modern silver vase that he had apparently given his parents for their last wedding anniversary. It would fit nicely into the apartment and I made a mental note to suggest we always had flowers in it in memory of his parents. The other items included some framed photographs of himself as a child, another at his degree ceremony and a very nice one of his parents. In addition he wanted the family photo albums and an automatic camera his Dad had recently purchased. "That's it" he said passing the list back to Sam who then collected the items together and put them into a cardboard box she had brought with her. Having got Luke to initial against each item she said she would arrange for dealers to come in. It struck me as being rather handy having a company that had all the necessary contacts to clear the property and eventually sell it. "What happened to my parents' personal jewellery items?" Sam pulled out a small package from her bag and passed it to Luke. Luke unsealed the package and took out his Mum and Dad's watches, their wedding bands, his mother's diamond engagement ring and a very nice signet ring that belonged to his Dad. He was later to have that resized to fit his own signet ring finger. "Just one other thing" Sam said, "I understand there is a safe. Do you know what is inside it Luke?" Luke smiled and nodded. "Do you have the code?" Luke again nodded and wrote down the code on the package she had given him. He then passed it to me and told me where the safe was. It was hidden behind some books on a bookshelf. When I pulled out the books he indicated there was a secret door which when opened exposed the safe behind. I looked at the code and smiled to myself. It was his birth date. I dialled in the six digits and the safe opened. I took out a small jewellery case, two envelopes which contained the 'Last Will and Testament' for each of his parents, and another package. Luke put the wills and the other package into his jacket pocket and then opened the jewellery case. It contained a beautiful diamond brooch and necklace. Sam looked at it and gasped. "Oh my, they are beautiful; I remember your mother wearing them to several company dinners" Luke passed the case over to Sam, "Do you like them?" "Oh yes they are beautiful" "Would you like them?" Sam looked at Luke in amazement, "Oh no Luke I couldn't. You should keep them." "Don't think they would suit me, even though I am a queen!" Sam grinned but continued looking at them. She clearly liked them. "I know my mother would love you to have them and I would rather give them to you than have them kicking round my apartment not being used or selling them for some stranger to wear. I would like to gift them to you Sam." Sam didn't know what to say. She stood up went over to Luke and kissed him. "Thank you so much Luke. I will wear them with pride and in memory of your parents." Luke then asked her to give him a plain piece of paper. He then wrote: 'I, Luke Parker, gift this diamond brooch and matching diamond necklace which belonged to my Mother Pamela Parker, to Sam Baines in recognition of her kindness and support to me.' He then signed and dated it and asked me to witness his signature. "There, keep that in the bottom of the box so it's all above board." I smiled to myself, 'My love thinks of everything, even in times of distress like this.' We were just beginning to clear up when the front doorbell rang. I went to the door and a middle aged woman was standing there. "Oh, sorry to bother you but I thought I saw Luke come in a bit earlier. I'm Mrs Bradley and live next door. I just wanted to have a quick word with Luke if it's convenient." "Come on in Marion" I heard Luke call out from the living room. Marion stepped into the hall and followed me into the living room. "Oh Luke, I just wanted to say how sorry I was to hear about your parents and your terrible injury" She bent over Luke and kissed him on the cheek. "Thanks Marion. Let me introduce you to Adam, my partner and Sam who works for the company" "Oh yes" she said as she shook my hand, "I saw you at the funeral yesterday but didn't want to bother you both then" "Thanks for popping in; it's lovely to see you Marion" Luke then explained that she had lived next door all the time his parents had lived there. "I knew Mr & Mrs Parker before Luke was born and watched him grow up" she explained excitedly, "He was such a lovely little boy and now he's a lovely young man. I hope you will both be as happy as they were together." Luke smiled and thanked her, "Marion used to baby sit me". She then asked what was going to happen to the house and Luke explained everything was going to be cleared and the house sold. She looked sad to hear that and looked around. "Everything you see is going, so is there anything you would like Marion?" Her eyes immediately went to a picture on the wall nearby. "I was with your mother when she bought that picture; in fact it was me who encouraged her to do so. She was pregnant with you and it was the last time we went out shopping together before you were born. We bought the picture and that crystal bowl over there from the same sale room." "Would you like them?" Marion looked at Luke not sure what he was saying. "You are welcome to have them as a reminder of them if you'd like to." Marion said she'd love to and once again kissed Luke. He then asked me to take the picture off the wall and as it was fairly heavy, to carry it round to her house. She picked up the crystal bowl and we set off. I took the picture into her living room and leant it against the wall. "Luke's such a kind and generous person. Thank you so much for carrying it round Adam" I just smiled and said I hoped she enjoyed looking at them. "I will, I will" she replied before adding, "I believe you are a nurse and met Luke when he was admitted to hospital." I nodded, "Yes, love at first sight I'm afraid" "I'm so pleased. You are a lovely pair and I wish you both all happiness for the future. It's not going to be easy for either of you. I also strongly believe in love at first sight" I thanked her and returned to the house. "We're going to go down the road for a bite to eat at the nearby pub" Luke explained when I returned, "Then we can go straight to the solicitor for the reading of the Wills." I had forgotten for the moment that the appointment was at three thirty that afternoon. "First I must have a pee I'm afraid" I grinned and got Luke into his wheelchair. There was a cloakroom off the hallway but it was too small to get the wheelchair inside. I therefore had to lift him and with one arm round my shoulder I got him into the cloakroom. There was just about room to get the door closed behind us. Luke balanced himself using the walking stick we always had with us whilst I unfastened his trousers. He preferred to stand to pee if he could rather than sit down because it was such an effort to get up again. He continued to lean on me whilst he pulled out his penis to start peeing. Suddenly his legs gave way and he used his other hand to hold himself up by leaning on the small basin. He now had no free hand to hold his cock to pee. He giggled and asked me to help out. I held his organ and directed his flow into the pan. "Mm, that feels so nice" he giggled again as I milked the last few drops from his cock and shook it dry. "Only you could make peeing into a sexual act" I chuckled and lightly slapped his naked butt before pulling up his briefs and doing up his trousers. The bar was only a few minutes away and when we got there the manager, who obviously knew Luke, came running out to help us get him inside. We decided it would be easier to wheel him into the garden area since it provided step free access. Whilst the manager ran round to unbolt the gate, I wheeled Luke up to it with Sam following on behind. Once inside Luke wanted to sit on a chair at the table rather than in his wheelchair. He always preferred to be out of the chair whenever he could. "Just as well you know how to lift him" Sam said as she watched me get him up and onto the chair fairly effortlessly. I laughed and said it was all part of the service and my training. A very nice looking bar guy came and took our order and spoke to Luke. They clearly knew each other and Luke explained it was predominantly a gay bar but welcomed everyone. We had an enjoyable lunch before making our way back to the house. Sam ordered a taxi and when it arrived I got Luke into it whilst she put in the box of items Luke wanted to keep. She then locked up the house and we set off home. I quickly took the box of items up to the apartment leaving Luke in the taxi. We then went off to the solicitor's office which was not far away. It never ceased to amaze me that when we entered places, people were always pleased to see Luke. Faces looked up and smiled when they saw him. He somehow had the ability to attract attention without actually doing anything. When I had first seen him being taken into the ward still unconscious, I had the same feeling. I knew immediately that I wanted to know this guy and love him. The same happened as we entered the offices of Reid, Walters and Penrose. The receptionist immediately smiled at him and got up to help us get him through the door saying how lovely it was to see him as she did so. A secretary then appeared and showed us into the large office of the senior partner, Mr Reid. He came over to shake Luke's hand and then mine. It was a warm handshake and I immediately felt comfortable in his presence. He seemed to know me so I guessed he must have attended the funeral as well. Luke looked uncomfortable in his chair so I asked if he would like to transfer to one of the deep leather armed chairs in front of Mr Reid's desk. He said he would so I lifted him out of the wheelchair and into the other one. By the time Mr Reid had got round the desk to help, I had Luke settled in the chair. "My, you must be well practised at doing that" he commented to me as he sat down again. I laughed, "Yes, too many years of being a nurse and having to move patients around". The secretary brought in tea for us all and we chatted about non essential things as we drank it. Mr Reid then brought out a folder in which he had the two Wills. "Would you like me to leave you alone?" I asked Luke. "Heavens no my love, you are welcome to stay" Mr Reid smiled at me so I settled back into my chair. I noted on the desk a piece of headed paper and could see from reading it upside down that the two partners were now Reid and Walters. Parker must have either died or moved on I thought to myself whilst Mr Reid explained what he was going to do before actually reading the wills. "Since we have no evidence as to who died first in the crash I will assume your mother went before your father although in reality it makes no difference" He then read Mrs Parker's will which basically left everything to her husband apart from a few minor bequests to her favourite charities. He then read the other will which left everything to Luke with the exception of three bequests to charities and some small amounts to odd members of the family. I noted that his aunt was not mentioned but Jason, Luke's cousin was. "So, it's all fairly straight forward", he continued to say, "and I understand you are going to sell the family home and its contents. The only other item your father mentioned in his will was that he wanted you to become Chairman of the Company and leave Charles to run the business on a day to day basis. This is of course subject to a Board decision but I understand Charles in particular is happy to do that and meet the wishes of your father. Luke nodded and explained there was a Board meeting that week to finalise things. "I have already managed to deal with a number of financial matters during the past six weeks and your father's shares will of course automatically come to you in accordance with the agreement made previously." Luke sat there looking somewhat exhausted and hardly taking it all in. Mr Reid ended by saying he would write to Luke to confirm everything. For a moment there was silence and I think Mr Reid was expecting Luke to say something or ask questions. "Is there anything you require from Luke" I asked, "only I think he is tired and needs a rest". "Yes of course, sorry. Let's wrap it up there and if necessary we can meet again. In the meantime thanks for coming in Luke and thank you Adam for taking such good care of him. I had the privilege of knowing Luke's father for many years and I know he would be pleased to see Luke in such good hands." I was taken aback at the remarks made and muttered my thanks. I was not expecting anything like that but it was nice to feel that others did appreciate what I was doing. I knew Luke did but I am always slightly aware of the 'gay issue' and how others are going to react. With that I lifted Luke back into his wheelchair and we left. We managed to hail a cab easily and we were soon home. I wanted to hug him and love him. "Would you like to have a rest on the bed for a while?" Luke smiled and nodded. "Will you join me?" I grinned and said I would. Having got him undressed and into bed, I quickly stripped off and joined him. We held each other close and as always it felt wonderful having his warm naked body up against mine. We just held each other and lay there without saying anything. I could almost read his thoughts. He was clearly thinking about his parents. I just wished I could be there with him but I knew only he could have those thoughts. All I could do was to be there for him when he finally came back to reality. ****** The story continues I welcome comments so feel free to do so by sending me an email.
