"Not what I thought escape meant" Chapter 84 The next few days seemed to fly by. With Max refusing to let Carl work until he knew the blood vessels in his neck were healed just added a little extra work. Landon and Zeb were in Texas with Durk and B. They were working as fast as possible so that their visit would not have to be extended. With some of the new hands following Landon and Zeb there was a quick need for additional housing. Max did turn Carl loose to go shopping for acceptable options. Carl seemed to be happy with his new purchases. Returning to the barn he found Max there refueling a combine. "Hey babe. How is it going ?" Carl asked. "Real smooth. I think we will pass the half way mark today. We are going to have to get the grain trucks in earlier than we thought." Max said. "That sounds good. I ended up buying five fifth wheel travel trailers." Carl said. "Five ?" Max asked. "Well five should handle the new hands. Daryl is starting next week on the new duplexes. He promises to have them done before the heavy snows. I figure we would keep one and give Brian, Joe, Mary, and Ross each one when the duplexes are done." Carl said. "Sounds like a good Christmas present to me." Max said. "That covers at least one gift for each." Carl said. "That might be all they get. Once this grain is in and the snow hits I plan on staying in bed until spring. You too." Max said. "I knew I married the right man." Carl laughed. "We have everything loaded except the cattle. We will make sure the first two trucks are loaded before we head out." Zeb said. "You have your truck loaded yet ?" Joe asked. "Yeah I have it packed and loaded. I could have driven it though." Zeb said. "You can once you get here with it." Joe laughed. "I am leaving a few things I guess. I don't figure you want them in your house. Besides your house already has enough." Zeb said. "You bring everything babe. This is your house too. If you have something you want in here we will put it where ever you want." Joe said. "Oh there is only one thing that I want to say where it gets put in that house." Zeb laughed. "You win. I will move the coffee pot." Joe laughed. "Very funny." Zeb laughed. "I think Carl will be back at work tomorrow. That will help and I may not have to crawl through the front door tomorrow night." Joe said. "Landon and I have been that way too. We are making sure we don't get delayed." Zeb said. "Well I wish you were here but I want you to take your time coming back. I need you here safe and sound." Joe said. "I wish I was there now." Zeb said. "Babe you would be disappointed. I am so tired I don't think I could conjure and good kiss right now." Joe laughed. "You listen to me. Sex is just a very small part. Just being there means more than anything else." Zeb said. "I know. But if you were getting back tonight I would have to try to find some energy somewhere." Joe said yawning. "You go to sleep. Landon and I will be careful and we will be back in a couple of days." Zeb said. "Mmmm, a couple of days." Joe said as he started to drift off with the phone still to his ear. "I love you Joe." Zeb whispered knowing that Joe was sound asleep. The next morning Joe and Max met with the group before starting. "I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work. I promise it has not gone unnoticed. Today lets get as much done as possible. They are delivering and setting up some fifth wheel travel trailers for the new hands until the duplexes get built. Some of them will be arriving tomorrow and the herd will begin arriving. Sleep in tomorrow because grain and hay will have to wait. I need all of you rested to help unload the herd. There should be six semi loads tomorrow afternoon. The rest will arrive over the next four or five days at two or three trucks at a time. That will be manageable. Plus I want you all there to greet the new hands. Make them feel welcome. I promise they are nothing like the ones that were here earlier this week. Max and I have to go see the judge this morning but we will be back long before lunch we hope so we can help get caught up." Carl said. "We passed the half way mark on the grain yesterday thanks to all of you. When we get to the three quarters mark we will cut back to a regular work week. We will need to give the trucks time to make room at the grain house. So there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Oh and yes by that point the hay will have slowed down too." Max said. "We got it handled boss." A couple of the hands said almost in unison. "Just remember. The new hands will be leaving their comfort zone. New homes, new ranch, even new state. Make them feel at home." Max said. "How far along are they ?" Carl said looking at Joe. "How far along what ?" Joe asked. "Don't give me that. I know you have talked to Zeb at least once this morning." Carl laughed causing the entire group to laugh. "He said the second truck would be loaded and they would be pulling out in about an hour." Joe said smiling. "Right on schedule. I knew we sent the right ones." Max said. The court room was interesting. The first man told the judge that Carl had offered him a job on the ranch and also had made sexual advances towards him. He tried to argue with the judge when Carl testified to the contrary. Durk was also present and presented the intent letter that Carl and Max had presented along with each man's employment offer. The letter stated that Rexlan ranch was sad to announce but at this point and any point in the future that they did not see any position availability. When the second man appeared he testified that Joe Rexlan had offered him a job and had also told him that he loved him. "Mr. Rexlan. Is Joe Rexlan listed as an owner of Rexlan ranch ?" The judge asked. "No Sir." Carl answered. "Then sir it seems like Joe Rexlan was in no position to offer you anything. " The judge said. The judge excused himself from the courtroom. About thirty minutes later the judge returned. "I find them guilty. There is one other matter before us. I have an extradition request from the state of Texas for both men. Do you have an issue with me granting this request Mr. Rexlan ?" The judge asked. Carl looked at Max. Max leaned over and whispered in Carl's ear. "Your honor I have no issue as long as any statue of limitations on this case are lifted and they are returned here when their sentence is completed in Texas to serve a full sentence for the state of Wyoming." Carl said. The judge looked towards Max and smiled. "Very unusual request Mr. Rexlan but I understand that justice will not be served for you if they are in a Texas prison. Your request will be granted and also added that once they have completed their sentence they will be delivered to the state line of their choice and forever forbidden to enter the state of Wyoming even to cross in travel." The judge said and banged his gavel. "You can't do this." The first man shouted at the judge. "Ask your lawyer son. I just did." The judge said as he opened the door and disappeared to his chambers. "I am not through with you yet. I promise you that." The first one shouted at Carl and Max as the bailiff took him from the room. Mitch and Artie met Daryl at their new house. "Have you heard from Carl ?" Artie asked. "Probably won't. I am sure the charges won't be dropped." Daryl said. "Damn you work fast." Mitch said. "Well I have too many jobs going to slow down." Daryl laughed. The cabinet people were there installing the new cabinets and Mitch noticed the new appliances in the garage. The tile man was in the new master bathroom finishing his work while the brick masons cleaned up after finishing the outside of the addition. "I figure two days of dry wall work when those guys are done. Then a couple of days painting and we will be ready for floors. I figure two weeks tops." Daryl said. "You are kidding right ?" Artie said smiling from ear to ear. "Nope. Since the the brick masons are done the landscapers will start tomorrow. The rest of the traffic in and out won't hurt the yards. I want the new sod good and seated before the snows." Daryl said. "I have some things I want to do in the back." Mitch said. "We will do them too but first we need to get a good stand of grass going." Daryl said. "So two weeks huh ?" Artie said. "You get me those paint samples and I may can shave a couple of days off that too." Daryl laughed. "Got them right here." Artie laughed. "I need to tell you something." Carl said as he squeezed Max's hand. "What is that babe ?" Max said. "I never knew just how violated you must have felt. I still don't. I felt extremely violated and nothing happened to me in comparison to you." Carl said. Stopping at the one red light in town Carl turned and looked at Max and smiled. "Do you feel any since of justice at all ?" Max asked. "Some. It does feel better that I know they won't be free to do that to anyone else and yes I do feel a little bit of justice." Carl said. "That's good to hear. Maybe I will feel that same justice once the other trial is over." Max said. "I am sure you will Max. It's not like a load has been lifted but then again I was not really assaulted like you were. After going through this I have a new understanding of just a small bit of how you may have felt." Carl said. "Babe we survive is what we do. You bury inside what needs burying and you smile and move on." Max said. "Do you really do that ?" Carl said. "In some cases yes. I cover it up until it doesn't hurt anymore. I have lots of practice." Max said and smiled. "I hope you don't do that if I hurt you." Carl said. "I promise you I have never done that with you. Never needed too." Max said and kissed the back of Carl's hand. "Promise me you will never hide it if I hurt you and I promise I will do the same." Carl said. "I promise. Now lets get back and get this grain finished. This old man is getting tired." Max said laughing. "Will you look at that ?" Carl laughed as they pulled up in the hay field. Max and Carl watched as Mitch came closer to them driving one of the tractors pulling a hay bailer. "At least he is trying." Max laughed. Stopping the tractor Mitch opened the door and stepped out. "I swear this should have been easy. Hell I can fly a jet airplane. When did they make farm tractors so fucking complicated." Mitch laughed. "Guess that means since I can dry this tractor I should be able to fly a plane." Carl laughed. "After trying to figure all this out a plane should be a breeze for you buddy." Mitch laughed. "Well babe you can give Mitch lessons on driving that tractor but I better never hear of Mitch giving you lessons on flying that plane." Max laughed. The ranch was a buzz of hard work for the rest of the day. Ross was elected to go pick up lunch from Flo's. The radio was a buzz also with different ones not wanting to take a break for lunch and asked if Ross or someone could deliver lunch to the fields they were working. Max tried to argue claiming that everyone needed a break. Max finally gave in realizing that everyone seemed to ignore his request. Ross hurried from field to field trying to pass out burgers, chips and drinks so that he could also get back to his work. Joe had finished his burger and surveyed the field trying to estimate how far he could get and how late he could work. Knowing that he should feel tired, all he could feel was excitement that Zeb would be back tomorrow. "Hey babe. Are you on the road ?" Joe said as he answered the phone. "You need to be careful there. What if it had been Landon using my phone ?" Zeb laughed. "He would just have to get over it." Joe laughed. "We pulled out about an hour ago. I wanted to make sure everything was moving smoothly before I called. " Zeb said. "You and Landon are riding together aren't you ?" Joe asked. "Yes. We could have saved a truck maybe if I could have driven mine." Zeb said. "Well you will just have to pout all the way back. I wanted you in the truck with Landon and so did Carl and Max. " Joe said. "I know." Zeb said. "Well at least I have won one argument." Joe laughed. "Careful there mister. I don't like arguing." Zeb said. "Me either. We should be perfect together then." Joe said. Zeb was a little nervous about that last statement. "Alright. Let us get this circus further down the road. I will hopefully see you tomorrow." Zeb said. "You had better get here tomorrow. Be careful. Give Landon a smack for me. I love you." Joe said. "Love you too. See you soon." Zeb said. Max walked up at the barn after dark. Ty was standing leaning against one of the trucks. "What's going on ?" Max asked as he leaned against the truck. "Look at all of them. So damn tired they can barely stand but those tractors show up from Texas and they all have a hard on." Ty laughed. "Yeah I bet for the gay guys in the group if a naked hunk walked by they would ask him to move so they could see the tractors." Max laughed. "Boys and their toys." Ty laughed. "POP ..... POP..... look at the new trakers. They are BIG." Shawn said running towards Ty. "I guess I will have two more that when they are old enough spring a boner seeing a new tractor." Ty laughed. "I see that baby. It is big isn't it. " Ty said Durk and B had arrived to inspect the delivery. "Damn Durk I had no idea these were part of the deal. " Carl said. "All I am leaving them is the lawnmower. You bought the business. These are part of the business." Durk said. "I understand but those are John Deere 9510's. They are over two hundred grand a piece." Carl said. "You only brought three ?" B said. "They are going back for the rest." Durk said. "The rest ?" Joe asked. "Honey that's just three of the tractors. All the rest of them have to come and then all of the equipment. " B said. "This is too much guys. " Carl said. "Did you , or did you not buy my cattle business ?" Durk said. "Well Yes Max and I did." Carl said. "Then shut up about it. I should be home sipping a mojito instead of out here stressing with you over tractors." B said laughing. Max walked up and placed his arm around Carl's back. "Mmmm. Babe. I really need a massage tonight." Carl said. "In your dreams. That's about as close as you are going to get tonight." Max laughed. "That's alright. We get to sleep late in the morning. Or wake up early and play late." Carl laughed. "OH MY. Keep talking." B said. "Sounds like I need to send him home with you B. I don't have the energy." Max laughed. Shane interupted the conversation running up to Carl. "Unca Carl. What is that ?" Shane said pointing to another two eighteen wheel rigs pulling up the drive. "That's the other tires for the tractors baby." Carl said holding Shane up so he could see. "Exra tires ?" Shane said. "Yep. You see those big tractors on the trailers ?" Carl asked. "Uh huh." Shane said. "Well each of those tractors get and extra wheel and tire. So there will be four on each side in the front and back." Carl said. "So they get bigger ?" Shane whispered. "Yep baby. They get even bigger." Carl said. Shane had lay his head against the side of Carl's and with his right hand had reached under Carl's chin and was lightly stroking Carl's face. "Yep. Ty was right ?" Max laughed. "About what ?" Carl asked. "He said if those two were older they would have the same woody that all you guys have looking at these tractors." Max laughed. "A new tractor never gave you one of those." B said placing his hand on his hip and looking at Durk. "Sweetheart it didn't take a tractor to give me one. You did that without any help." Durk laughed. "Sshhhh Durk before you get us all in trouble." Carl laughed. "Don't worry. After the day I have had his tractor woody is his problem. " Max laughed. Finally able to head home around ten p.m. Max smiled as he drove Carl's truck down the drive. Carl had sat in the passenger's seat, reached over and took Max's hand and then fell asleep. Once at the house Max woke Carl enough to get him out of the truck and into the house. Leaning Carl against the counter in the bathroom Max turned the water on to warm as he began to unbutton Carl's shirt. "Just can't get enough of it can you ?" Carl whispered. "You know it babe." Max laughed. Finally getting Carl's clothes off Max quickly undressed and pulled Carl under the warm spray. Max lathered Carl's body up making sure he did not miss a spot. Carl tried to help Max as he washed his own body. Carl's arms felt like they weighed five hundred pounds each. Max moved Carl back under the spray to rinse the soap. Carl placed his hands on Max's shoulder as Max used his hands to make sure all the soap was rinsed off. Before he could look down he felt Carl's cock begin to grow and press against his own groin. Max moved slowly down and before Carl realized what was happening Max had taken his now raging cock down his throat. "Babe. You have to be as tired as me." Carl whispered. "You must not be too tired there cowboy." Max said as he released the cock from his mouth and lightly massaged Carl's balls. "Well what do you expect with you playing with it." Carl laughed. I am a Rexlan man." Carl laughed. "That you are. Besides I need to see if that tractor woody tastes any different than a Max woody." Max laughed just before opening his mouth and taking his lover's cock back down his throat until his nose was buried in Carl's freshly washed pubes. "Awwww ..... Fffuuuuucccckkkk.. " Carl moaned. Max reached up and took Max's hips in his hands. Once he was finally comfortable with Carl's length and girth in his throat he began to quicken his pace. Carl's body began to vibrate slightly as the mushroom head of his cock passed Max's tonsils. Max could feel Carl's cock beginning to flex inside his mouth. Carl seemed to almost jump as Max took his cock deep and began to hum. In moments Max felt Carl's hands on top of his head. "GGGggggggrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr." Carl growled as his cock began to grow even bigger. The gator rumble that always set Max off came as Carl's cock began to flex and unload deep down Max's throat. Max's body jerked as his own cock began to shoot it's own load. Never touching himself, Max had long ago learned that Carl's rumble was enough to make him orgasm. "Ffffffuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkk. " Carl shouted as his body twitched, flexed and then relaxed. Pulling Max to his feet. "Baby you know you didn't have to do that." Carl said smiling. "I know. I wanted to. Besides I had to see if tractor woody tasted different. " Max said. Carl leaned his head back and laughed. "Well did it ?" Carl asked. "Sweetheart I couldn't tell. It's hard to improve perfection." Max said. "Yep your a keeper." Carl said as he pulled Max close for a passionate kiss. Joe stayed behind to check the fields and the herds to make sure none of the men were too tired and missed secure everything. Finally crawling through the front door Joe made his way to the shower. Coming back into the kitchen after his shower Joe began to survey his house. "Damn I need to do a heavy cleaning before Zeb gets back." He thought. Joe had been paying one of the ranch hand's wives to come and clean his house once a week. Looking towards the living room he saw a note on the dining room table. Grabbing a beer from the refrigerator Joe walked over and moaned as he sat down in the chair. "Mr. Joe. I put you a plate in the microwave for your dinner. I will be here around ten in the morning and I will spring clean your house so it will be spotless when Zeb gets back. Just put the dish in the sink and I will take care of the the house and the laundry. " The note said. "She is a angel." Joe thought. Before getting the plate from the microwave Joe went back to his bedroom and pulled a one hundred dollar bill from his wallet. Laying it beside the note he took the pen and added. "This is a bonus. I still owe you for cleaning." Joe wrote. The next morning brought stiff muscles and still tired men. "Which one is going to get up and put the coffee on ?" Mitch asked. "I thought you were." Artie laughed. "I will if I can move by noon." Mitch said. "But I thought you loved me. I want some fresh coffee." Artie laughed. "You have always told me that you didn't need anything but my love. You could live off that." Mitch laughed. "You listen too much sometimes." Artie laughed. "What time are we suppose to meet the others ?" Artie asked. "I figured we would get to the barn about the time Carl and Max did. Max said last night that Carl was not allowed out of the house this morning until at least ten." Mitch said. "Good we have a couple of hours. What do you want to do ?" Artie asked. "I want to sleep one hour and soak in a hot tub the other hour." Mitch laughed. "A man after my heart." Artie laughed and snuggled back up to Mitch's chest. The farmer and Durk had come over around eight to get the twins. The farmer's wife had asked to keep them for the day. Plus they would be able to watch the herd being unloaded from the safety of the yard. "Brian still sleeping ?" Durk asked. "I don't think I could wake him if the house was on fire." Ty laughed. "He may need to take a day off." The farmer said. "No I will have him up by ten. He can rest this weekend. Carl and Max said that weekend work except the basics would stop after this week." Ty said. "I know that you are looking forward to that." Durk said. "Just time for a little family time. These two have been a little off the chain." Ty said rubbing each of the twins heads. "Come on little men. Let's get home and see what Mama has cooked for breakfast." The farmer said taking a twins hand in each of his. "Are you sure about this ?" Ty asked. "Have you ever seen him smile so much ?" Durk said watching the farmer walk towards the golf cart. "I know he enjoys them." Ty said. "Yeah and I get a break. I get to watch him and B fight over them all day." Durk said laughing. "Well I took today off to help so if you have problems I will be around." Ty said. "Oh we will be fine. If four grown ups can't keep up with these two then we are worse off than I thought." Durk said. "I may need to check on you guys around lunch time then." Ty laughed. Around eleven a.m. the ranch had come to life. The ranch hands had helped get the extra tires on the new tractors and also unloaded even more equipment that had arrived over night. Two of the tractors were busy carrying round hay bales and feed trailers full of grain and placing them around the new fields that will house the new herd. Ross had a separate tractor as he carried both hay and feed to the field that Landon's test herd would be in. By the time Brian and Ty arrived with lunch the only thing left was checking the fences once more and making sure the unloading areas were ready. After everyone finished their lunch Carl gave out last minute instructions to everyone. "We should have ten trucks arrive today. Three will go to Landon's fields and the others in the main field. I have already given Ty the instructions on how to determine which trucks go where. Ross and his gang will unload those three and I want the rest of you available to help with the rest. A couple of you can go and do some work in the hay fields for a little while. We have some new hands arriving today too. I want you to make them all feel welcome here at Rexlan ranch. There will be four trucks that arrive after midnight. I guess we will wait until the morning to unload those." Carl said. "Boss we need to get those cows off and fed and watered up as soon as we can. As soon as we get the others unloaded a few of us will go back to the bunk and take a nap. When the other trucks come in tonight we will get them unloaded and tended too." One of the hands said. "I am not sure what time they will arrive." Carl said. "We have talked about that. Us wives will keep a watch and wake them up when the trucks get here." One of the hand's wife spoke up and said. "We are pulling together and cooking a meal for all the men including the new guys for tonight." Another wife spoke up and said. Max moved around from behind Carl after hearing the women speak up. "Tell you what ladies. Go to the local grocery store and get anything you need. I will call them and tell them to charge it to the ranch. We don't want you using your food supplies to feed everyone." Max said. The ladies put up a small argument as did their husbands but finally gave in realizing Max would not budge. "What time will they be here ?" Carl said looking towards Joe. "Why are you asking me ?" Joe asked. The entire group broke out laughing. "Well we all know that you talked to Zeb while we were eating lunch so how close are they ?" Joe laughed. "They should be about two hours out. It may take three trying to get those rigs over the mountain." Joe said and blushed. "Alright guys. Lets do a quick last check and meet back here. We can relax until the trucks start arriving." Carl said. Ross sat on the tail gate of his truck looking down at the ground. "What's wrong buddy ?" Max asked. "Nothing. Just a private promise I made to Landon." Ross said. "Don't worry. Your Uncle Carl did a lot of begging and promising to get you off the hook." Max said. "Do what ?" Ross asked. "I called Landon last night. He told me about your promise. I told him that I had planned on you unloading the test herd so that you two could be together but I could change that. He decided he wanted to check the herd too after their trip. Plus I had to make a few promises that I can't repeat." Carl laughed. "Oh you did huh ?" Ross laughed. "Yeah that man of yours drives a hard bargain." Carl laughed. "Hey guys. Look over there." Max said pointing towards Joe. Joe was pacing back and forth across the yard with the phone to his ear. "Like a cat on a hot tin roof." Carl laughed. "I am happy for him." Ross said. "Me too." Carl said. "Well I better not hear any sly remarks from either one of you. Once Joe is comfortable there will be plenty of time for that." Max said. "But babe. I have to say something." Carl said. "You have a choice. Pick on and play with your brother now or play with your husband later." Max said. "You win." Carl laughed. "And you say my man drives a hard bargain." Ross laughed. "Difference is with Landon it was a bargain. Some give and take. With my husband it's an order. No bargaining." Carl laughed. Joe ran across the yard and stopped just short of the truck. "They just coming up to the light at Flo's." Joe almost shouted. Ty took his clipboard and the gator and took off for the gates. Ross got in his truck and left for the test herd's unloading area. The rest of the men left for their designated areas. Carl, Max , Joe and Daryl were left at the barn. "Take a deep breath Joe. It will all be fine." Max said. "I have never felt this way in my life and hell I am over fifty." Joe said. "I am glad to see it Bro. Mary and I have always wanted to see you happy." Daryl said. "You really mean that ? Does Mary feel that way ?" Joe said. "Look big Bro. You know we all love you. If Zeb makes you happy then we are happy for you." Carl said. "We all think the world of Zeb and I have watched him. He seems to be head over heals for you. Just take your time and hold onto that feeling." Max said. "I think I have taken enough time." Joe said. "That's not what I mean. Just be yourself and let Zeb be himself. That will build a forever relationship." Max said. About that time Joe's truck turned in the drive with a loaded down trailer behind it. Joe turned quickly and brushed the dust off his clothes and took a deep breath.
