This is dedicated to Rah and Larz, my real Nick and Tor. Without them I wouldn't have the nerve to go ahead with this story

Chapter 7 - More Then Forgiving

Lynne looked back at the tall youth. He was wearing board shorts and a tight white short-sleeved shirt with grey sport shoes. He certainly was an attractive young man she thought. The phrase 'wolf in sheep's clothing' also came to mind.

"Umm... Lydia is it?" Bryan asked.

"No its Lynne" she replied.

"Yes Bryan, Blair is here. He's busy right now" she said about to close the door on him. Bryan stopped her from completely shutting it.

"Please uh... Lynne, I need to speak with him" Bryan pleaded. She wasn't too sure what happened between Bryan and Blair, only that harsh words were exchanged. She was a formidable and protective mother, and didn't take kindly to people who disrespected her 'family'.

"I don't think that's a good idea Bryan, you've said enough and Blair is going through enough crap without you adding to it" said Lynne.

"What do you mean other crap??" asked Bryan.

"I don't think you're in a position to be asking those kind of questions Bryan, good day," Lynne said emotionless as she shut the door. She was seldom rude but she definitely had a protective streak. She thought she was doing the right thing. Lynne looked down at the package in her hand and wondered what to do with it. It would be wrong of her to keep it from Blair, so she left it on Blair's bed for him to look at after he had his shower.

"Damn it! Well, that went smooth!" Bryan cursed to himself as he paced back and forth on the pathway. "Damn it, I gotta see him, I just can't give up. And what the hell did she mean by other crap?" he muttered to himself.

"If only I knew their phone number then I could try ringing... but then if Lynne answered she'd surely hang up on me," he thought.

Bryan stopped pacing as he caught sight of Nick coming around the side of the two-storey apartment with some rubbish bags.

"Nick! Dude... can I talk to you for a sec?" Bryan called out. Nick, who was busy holding up two large bags, was caught off guard as he saw Bryan looking up at him.

"Bryan, what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be out insulting little kids or something?" said Nick giving Bryan a glare.

"Dude, I mean Nick. I just want to talk to Blair okay? Please you gotta help me out, your mum already froze me out!" he said trying to muster up his best pout, which only seemed to annoy Nick more.

"Why do you want to see Blair for? Haven't you said enough?" Nick said as he dumped the bags on the road. "Besides, whatever you're going to say won't do you any good. We're heading off, out west"

"Out west... why? Please dude just let me have five minutes to talk to him, that's all I ask. Then I promise if he still doesn't want to talk I'll walk away, okay?" Bryan asked pacing after Nick. Nick stopped and faced Bryan. He saw the desperation in Bryan's face. Nick couldn't help but relent.

"Look" Nick sighed. "I'll let you in okay? But if I hear any arguments or find out you've hurt Blair again I'll bust your ass okay?" Nick said firmly. Bryan nodded and followed Nick upstairs in to the house. Nick led Bryan in to Blair's room.

"He's just getting ready to leave dude, just say what you gotta say then go okay?" Nick said as he ushered him through the door.

"Thanks man I owe you one" Bry said as he held out his hand for Nick to shake. Nick didn't respond.

"Yeah well just remember what I said ok?" said Nick as he gave Bryan an irritated look and walked out. Nick headed towards the kitchen where Lynne and Tor were having coffee and having a conversation.

"You never guess who stopped by this morning!" Tor said.

"Yeah I know it was Bryan." Nick replied. Both Lynne and Tor looked at him as if to say 'how do you know'.

"He's in Blair's room as we speak" Nick said pouring himself a coffee.

"What?!" they both shrieked.

"Just calm down!" Nick shushed. "Bryan has a few things to say and Blair's a big boy. Let them sort it out" he said while stirring his cup.

"Are you sure that's a good idea?" Lynne asked.

"Yeah, besides I already warned him about trying anything stupid" Nick said firmly.

"Well that's not the only surprise Blair is going to get," Tor sighed while sipping her coffee.

"Well I gotta go kids, but I'll be back later. Look out for Blair would ya?" Lynne said as she kissed both Tor and Nick on the forehead. They both nodded.

I got out of the shower and realised I had forgotten my shaver. I was getting a bit of stubble and thought I better hack it of. I wrapped my towel around my waist and headed to my room. As I walked in I gasped and paused only to see that there on my bed was Bryan who was laying down staring at the ceiling. I had mixed emotions, part of me was mad, part of me was relieved and part of me was scared. What the hell was he doing here? Why did he come back? Why is he so fucking hot? I decided to snap him out of his daydream.

"Bry, what are you doing here?" I asked. He jumped at the sound of my voice.

"Blair, dude... I came to see... whoa!" he paused while looking me up and down. I realised I was only wearing a towel and blushed.

"Um, can you hand me those pants on the end of the bed please?" I asked feeling embarrassed. He sat up and handed me the pants while continuing to stare at me. It was making me rather uncomfortable.

"Man, thoughts don't do justice to your good looks dude," he said as he stood up. I put my pants on and looked at him. He was calling ME beautiful! I didn't know whether to slap him or kiss him.

"What do you want Bryan? I mean you made your feelings quite clear yesterday" I said with a frown. He seemed to wince at that comment. He stepped closer and tried to hug me but I shrugged him off.

"Look Bry, I think you better go. I've got a friend flying in from New Zealand today and I have to go pick her up" I said as I went about getting my things together for the Blue Mountains.

"Yeah Nick said something about that" he paused "I meant what I said yesterday," Bryan mumbled.

"Oh which part? The part where you said I was a bitch or the part where you insinuated I was a whore?" I said sarcastically.

"Yeah, I mean no, I mean..." he stumbled.

"Bryan, why don't you just go ok? What we did was fun, but I should have known better..."

"I love you!" he said almost shouting. "I can't stop thinking about you Blair you have to believe me. I'm sorry about the things I said, but... I can't help the way I feel because I'm crazy for you" Bryan said really fast.

Now that I wasn't expecting! I was about to say something when I noticed a package on the bed. I picked it up and checked to see who it was from. Did he buy me a gift?

Then I saw the name on it.

It was from Andrew. How the hell did he know I was in Australia? The package was about the size of a CD. Bryan must have noticed something was up because he came behind me and touched my shoulder.

"Blair, are you okay?" he asked sounding concerned. I shrugged him off.

"I'm fine..." I replied pausing. I looked at the package as if it was the most foreign thing in the world.

"You don't seem okay dude" he said unconvinced.

"Yeah well life's a bitch and then they dump you," I said rather harshly. I opened it up and indeed it was a CD, but it was a CD-Writer CD. That was funny; there was no note in the package but on the front it had in big black writing 'PLAY ME'. I turned to the portable that was sitting on the desk and played the CD. I looked at the stereo expectantly and wondered what the hell this was all about. Then I heard some talking, it was Andy's voice. I turned it up.

"Hey Blair baby, I haven't had a chance to talk to you since that day back in the cinema, but I felt I needed to say something. My heart ripped apart when I saw the pain in your eyes and I'm sorry I was such a coward. This is for you. "

An acoustic guitar started playing. It brought back so much memories, that's one thing that both of us loved to do. Sing together or just enjoying music. Then I heard Andrew's soft voice start singing. He always sounded a bit rough, kind of like a rock singer.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings
It was so careless of me
I guess I've gone and done it
It's just a matter of time
Nothin' I can do
But tell you I'm sorry
And that's the Hardest part of all

'Cause your Love's the killin' kind,
your love's the killin' kind

I sat down back on the bed and I felt my eyes begin to tear. I recognised the song, it was Shelby Lynne's killin' kind. It sounded different though with just one voice and an acoustic guitar, and Andrew had slowed the pace down a bit. It sounded much more sincere and almost ballad like.

I'd rather walk on glass than see teardrops
In your eyes and I'd fall to pieces
Just to hold you the best thing in my life
It's just luck I get to love you
You're the one thing that's right
You're the light in my hell, darlin'

'Cause your love's the killin' kind,
your love's the killin' kind

Oh, yeah I, I just might cry now, Die, lay down and die now
why, 'cause you've done it to me you're puttin' me under

I close my eyes and I sit under the sky
I love you and all it's pleasure
Baby, it feels so right my arms won't be
Any use at all If I can't hold you

'Cause your love's the killin' kind
your love's the Killin' kind
Your love's the Killin' kind
Your love's the Killin' kind

Oh, yeah

I'd die, baby Ooh, I'd die for your darlin'
Just want to say I'm sorry Oh, I'd do anything
Anything

The music stopped playing and my eyes were full of tears. I was about to switch it off when Andrew's spoken voice came through again.

One thing that stuck out about you Blair is that you are a deep person. I'm sorry that I did what I did and can only hope that you'd forgive me. I really do love you, you know? It's just that it wasn't meant to be.

Take Care.

Then it stopped. My eyes were shut tightly and tears were streaming down my face. Andrew was right. I was truly hurt and our relationship had affected me deeply. Somehow he knew I needed the closure and one thing came to mind, apology accepted.

And with that thought, I cried. I cried for Andy and I, I cried for mum and dad's split, I cried for my friends and I cried for myself. I don't mean to go all Oprah but it was a cleansing experience. I remember hearing in Social Studies that the Maori word for cry was Tangi. They also called their funerals Tangi because it was a time to cry and let all the bad things out. They believed all the tears cried during a tangi was your time to reconcile with yourself. At that moment I couldn't help but believe there was some truth in that.

I felt a pair of strong arms hug me from behind and remembered that Bryan was here. For a moment I felt ashamed for crying in front of him but it didn't last long. He didn't say anything, just hugged me. It's what I needed right then. I could feel his soft breathing on the back of my neck as he held me and the sound was soothing and managed to calm me down. I then remembered that Bryan had professed his love for me before I broke down. I decided to address the issue immediately since I was in a 'cleansing ' mood.

"Thanks Bry, I needed that," I said

"No problem, are you feeling better now?" he asked while rubbings his arms gently around me.

"Much" I replied.

"Great, do you want to talk about it?" he asked

"Yeah, but not just yet. I have something to get off my chest," I said turning around to face him.

"Sure" he said and looked at me expectantly.

"I appreciate your honesty Bry, I'm honoured you feel so strongly about me" I said

"Somehow I can feel a 'but' coming on" he said.

"Yeah, well... it's just... it's just too soon Bry. I gotta admit, I do have strong feelings for you. But I need some time. I care deeply for you but I just don't know if it's love." I said. I expected him to shy away, but he smiled.

"Well that's good enough for me" He beamed. "So apology accepted?"

"Well..." I paused. "I may need some convincing," I said smiling.

"Oh I think I can do that" he said and leaned forward to kiss me. I drew him in to me and let him kiss me softly. His lips pressed softly against mine and the strangest thing happened. This weird sensation passed through his lips to mine. It was like I could feel the emotions he was pouring through just with a slight kiss. I don't know, maybe I was imagining things but it somehow felt, special. When I opened my eyes his deep brown ones sparkled. I may not be in love with him but damn I knew I was falling hard.

"Ahem!" I heard someone cough. I turned around and saw it was Tor. She had an understanding look on your face.

"How long had you been there?" I asked.

"Since you played the CD," she said sounding guilty. "I didn't mean to intrude, but I came to check on you and overhead you talking. Then I heard the CD and I wanted to make sure you were ok and I didn't mean to watch you two kissing its just that..." Tor rambled.

"Victoria stop!" I said holding my hand up to her. "It's okay. I'm not fussed." I said smiling. She came over and hugged me.

"Hehe thanks, but I also came to say that we need to get a move on to the airport" Tor said. I checked my watch and sure enough, it was 9:45am and it was just under an hours drive to the airport.

"Shit! We better get going" but as I said it I realised I still had some stuff to sort out with Bry. Suddenly I felt frustrated again. Tor must have seen my expression because she came up with a brilliant idea.

"Blair, how about you two stay for a bit and Nick and I will go get Amber?" she suggested.

"Aw I can't do that," I said when I was actually thinking it wasn't a bad idea at all.

"Oh shush, it'll be fine. You two still need some time to sort things out. I'm sure she will understand" Tor said "And you" she said as she poked Bryan "Have a lot of explaining and making up to do" she said with an upturned smile. Bryan blushed. I grabbed a hold of Tor's hand and hugged her again.

"Thanks"

"No problem, we'll see you shortly," she said walking out and shutting the door behind her. I turned to see a smiling Bryan sprawled across my double bed. I grinned and thought, yes, this was where I wanted to be.

Amber got off the plane and headed towards customs. There was a large queue and the whole 'waiting to get your passport stamped' seemed so menial. As she finally got through customs and down the exit ramp, she noticed Tor standing there.

"Tor! Its great to see you!" Amber said as she hugged her.

"It's great to see you too girl! How was the flight?" Tor asked while returning the hug.

"Oh it was okay, damn awful food but apart from that no complaints" Amber replied. She noticed there was a rather cute tall guy next to her.

"You must be Nick!" she said while shaking his hand.

"And you must be the famous Amber I keep hearing about" Nick said.

"Well I'm telling you now that its all false!" Amber said which made them all laugh. She then noticed the absence of Blair.

"Where's Blair?" Amber asked.

Nick and Tor looked at each other and sighed.

"It's a long story," Tor said.

"We'll explain it to you on the way back" Nick added.
